CASTING NEWS: THE FRESH FACES CONTINUE TO GROW! VSGuide has learned that two new faces will be joining the fifth sequence of 'Audition'! Emeraude Toubia ('Shadowhunters,' 'Tattooed Love') and Jacob Artist ('Glee,' 'Quantico') have been booked to play Stella and Trey, respectively, two up and coming musicians who will have a run in with Rose and Robbie in the fifth episode "Toast," and will also reoccur throughout the remainder of the sequence. Not much else has been revealed, but it has been rumored that Stella and Trey might not necessarily see eye-to-eye with the talented singing duo. However, series creator Brady Brown was quick to shut down speculation that these two new characters would be simple rehashes of the webisode's original antagonists Jordan and Angela. He went on to add that these characters will only just meet for the first time in their introductory episode. "Mapping out Rose and Robbie's stories for the sequence, it was almost essential to bring in Stella and Trey," Brown went on to say. "I think you'll understand why once the premiere airs, but Rose and Robbie haven't had to deal with other people to achieve their dream. Sure, they had to get a gig at a bar, but, like with Alex and Alisha, you're bound to meet new faces along the way, and that's where Stella and Trey come in. Hopefully they resonate well with the audience, because they've got some huge plans moving forward."
When asked to comment on their characters, Toubia said that "Stella is a very confident character. She's confident in her body, sexuality, talents, and intelligence. There's not a lot that can necessarily bring her down. She knows she's good at what she does, but that doesn't translate into a negative or harsh personality." In contrast, Artist went on to tell us "Trey is probably the complete opposite of Stella. He's shy, reserved, can most of the time be found reading or staying away from confrontation, but there's something about presenting his musical talents for people that gives him an adrenaline rush."What are your thoughts on these new faces? What do you think they'll bring to the table? Any speculation on how their first meeting with Rose and Robbie might go? Sound off below, and stay tuned for more 'Audition' spoilers!

Aw, man. I'm so excited to see what these characters bring to the story and see how that contrasts or parallels Rose and Robbie's journey this sequence. I would like to see how they affect Rose/Robbie going forward, and what kind of dynamic that will be shared between them. If it's friendly, competitive, antagonistic, etc. Either way, it's nice to see the music side of the show receive just as much focus as the film/tv side of it and I need the show to come back and air new episodes like yesterday, haha!

These new characters sound amazing!! I'm happy Rose and Robbie are getting a focus this season and their music career will (hopefully) take off and they will become international pop stars. I'm gonna need you to push this through the woodwork and start airing. I need Audition back in my life.

EXCLUSIVE: ANOTHER HOLLYWOOD CROSSOVER? Is Screenwriters Paradise crossing back over with Audition? Kind of. News has just broke than Frieda Pinto, who plays newly upgrades series regular Freya Malik on Audition's sister show Screenwriters Paradise, has been booked for a special guest starring role in this sequence's fourth episode! Pinto was absent from the series' original crossovers, which helped launch Screenwriters Paradise, so it looks like she's going to be getting her own appearance. And if you remember, it's also been revealed that the fourth episode of the fifth sequence has been labeled "David-centric" by series creator Brady Brown. Will David and Freya be crossing paths? "From the first sequence [of Screenwriters Paradise], we knew Freya seemed to like a lot of the same things David did. They're, essentially, really into comics, fantasy, etc," says Brown. "I was always intrigued with the idea of them meeting and geeking out over the last issue of Batman or the last episode of Game of Thrones, and while this doesn't necessarily focus on their shared interests, they do meet in this episode." Brown went on to say, "The first four episodes really deal with a continuation of what David was feeling last sequence after being fatally shot. He's still attempting to step out of the sidekick role and be his own leading man, and this episode really drives that into full force. Meeting Freya is a true blessing for him." And in one final tease of what the episode is going to be about, he teased "They're going to Comic Con." Excited for another Screenwriters Paradise character to cross over to Audition? Any speculation on the first interactions between David and Freya? Sound off below, and stay tuned for an official fifth sequence premiere announcement very soon!

A COMIC CON EPISODE? Oh my god. I kind of hope David brings Mia with him and she can see him geek out. I wonder if that's in the cards and if a lot of characters are going to comic con, if not all, or if it's just David and Freya. Either way I'm excited. David has become my favourite character on the show and it's nice to see him getting more development and focus. I wonder if he relates to Nightwing in any way with this whole wanting to be his own leading man, haha! GAH! I need new episodes naooow!

EXCLUSIVE: THE SURPRISE PREMIERE EXPLAINED! No one expected Audition's fifth sequence to premiere this early or that it would come without warning. VSGuide managed to snag series creator Brady Brown so that he could properly explain for releasing the newest episode without an announcement. "Like Beyoncé herself, I love spontaneity. This sequence, as evident in the premiere, deals with a lot of spontaneous decisions. [SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE PREMIERE EPISODE "23 DAYS"] Rose, Robbie, and Flynn decided to start a band; Alex comes clean to Alisha, David takes the job at the comic shop. It was all very last minute for them. I thought having a surprise premiere would really reflect that and add a slight layer of depth with what I was trying to go for. Hopefully it worked for those who checked the premiere out, and I can't wait for them to read the rest of the episodes." Brown also released the official VPN description for the next episode, entitled "Acting 102," under the cut below: 5.02 - Acting 102: BREAKING BAD: THE ACTING EDITION - When news comes of LA's Teen Talent being closed down, Alex (Hutcherson) and Alisha (Stoner) are forced to find a different acting class, and David (Elgort) and Mia (guest star Golightly) might be able to help. When they get there, however, the people they meet might send them running for the hills. Meanwhile, Michael (Dempsey) invites Paula (Adams) to a staged reading.

EXCLUSIVE: A FAMILIAR FACE RETURNS TO HOLLYWOOD! VSGuide has just learned that Liz Gillies, who played series regular Angela Davis for the first two sequences of 'Audition,' has booked a multi episode arc for the webisode's fifth sequence! Gillies is set to return in the seventh episode, "Raven of LA," and will appear for the remainder of the first half, and is in talks to appear in episodes thereafter. When we last saw Angela, she was beginning to emotionally heal herself, with the help of Alisha, after the trial that sent her abusive ex-boyfriend Jordan to jail. "When we meet back up with Angela, she's in a much better, much happier place in her life," says series creator Brady Brown. "In fact, she and Alisha switch roles, with Angela being the one to give Alisha some much needed advice about her life. It's been really fun to meet back up with Liz and write scenes between Angela and other people, and see how much those relationships have grown." "For a majority of the series, we've only seen Angela attached to Jordan," actress Liz Gillies went on to say on her character's return. "This time around, she's free. She's by herself, and she has a clearer head. She's in a better place in her life, and the way she talks and interacts with other people really shows that." When asked on whether or not Angela would be sticking around full time, Gillies had this to say: "You know, I don't really know. I think [the show] has grown exponentially since [Nathan Kress] and I left, but I think Angela coming back really allows a lot of the characters, particularly Alisha, to reflect on a lot of things and move forward. I would love to stick around, but I guess we'll both have to wait and see." Excited for Angela's return? What do you think she'll bring to the table now that she's in a happier place? Want her to stick around permanently? Sound off below, and stay tuned for more Audition scoops, coming soon!

I'm super excited about Angela coming back. The discussion about her being attached to Jordan is definitely true, so seeing her with a life outside of that will be really interesting. I hope she sticks around for a significant amount of time, especially if she clicks really well with the other characters.
As for episode 6, "Marks the Spot," it sounds like it'll be an episode that centers mostly around supporting character, Kelsey. That should be an interesting switch-up for the show. Maybe meeting parts of her family will really expand on the character in a way that gives me reasons to like her outside of her "ship" with Alisha. I wonder what the message is about, though. And we're also getting some Paula/Michael stuff? SIGN ME UP.

So many great spoilers-- First and foremost, I'm really excited about Angela returning to the show. I think there's a room for her in the story to come back and play a major role on the show again. Obviously, I'll wait until I see her episodes before campaigning for more, but I absolutely love when shows in the later seasons of their life bring characters back from the earlier seasons. So that's something that I feel will make this sequence very special. Plus: a karaoke night with Alisha? YES. The biggest question mark is about her crossing paths with Mia. I'm interested to see what the significance of it will be. I'm assuming they're the ones with the "surprising past." That would be a great way to link Angela back into the show, since Mia has become such an important character to the show and it's DNA. Out of the episodes you've posted, I think I'm most excited for "Around and Around and Around." I've watched so many legal dramas in my twenty-one-years-of-living and the idea of these characters being assigned a "mock classroom" assignment immediately makes me happy. I think it could be one of the show's more unique episodes, for sure. "Sixth Time's the Charm" being Alex's birthday better mean good things. I hope Rose doesn't convince him to audition only to get rejected on his birthday. I'm hoping the title means only good things for the guy. He's struggled so much with his auditions in the past. He deserves some happiness. I can't wait for the sequence to continue. Everything looks and sounds so, so, so good

I'm stoked to hear the show will be coming back soon. I've missed Audition. And that trailer was everything!!!
-- Alex and Rose are still going strong (despite the fact that Rose should be with Robbie damn it). But no, I do like their progression, and things were taken rather slow for them initially so it's nice to see them balls deep knee-deep in it now. -- Seems to be more Kelsey/Alisha tension coming up. And more on Kelsey in general as the trailer mentioned her family. I've been honest about not really connecting with the character, but maybe learning more about her will help me understand some of her actions in the past and find something to admire about her. *character development* -- Angela is back!!! *screams into the abyss* -- I really want to know how Alisha, David, Michael and Paula all ended up in a closet together. -- I just want Alex to be happy, damn it. I feel like he's been hit with rejection after rejection and I'm waiting for the guy to catch a break. I wonder what the context is for him snapping at David. Don't kill the bromance, man. Don't do it. -- Whoever this Stella girl is... she needs to take 43 steps away from Robbie. -- Paula also needs some happiness. WHY DO U ENJOY TORTURING ME??? -- I'm really excited for the mock trial episode. -- IF THIS PAULA AND MICHAEL THING IS ANOTHER DREAM I'MMA SCREAM!!! -- It seems like Alex's insecurities and bad luck streak is going to lead him towards a slippery "druggy" slope. Again, I'm left saying, "I just want him to be happy." Poor guy. -- David remains my ultimate fave. -- Also where is Mia?!? I'mma act like she didn't pop up because all her scenes are too spoilery.

I'm stoked to hear the show will be coming back soon. I've missed Audition. And that trailer was everything!!! SO excited to start airing episodes again! It's been too long [/i]Alex and Rose are still going strong (despite the fact that Rose should be with Robbie damn it). But no, I do like their progression, and things were taken rather slow for them initially so it's nice to see them balls deep knee-deep in it now.[/quote] I think Alex and Rose have some really cute moments in the next couple of episodes. I really love their relationship, and how it's grown since sequence 3, and it has a huge focus in this sequence. The first episode back - 5.06 - is really the resolution of what Kelsey and Alisha went through in sequence 4. 5.06 in general is just a huge episode for Kelsey and shows how much she's grown since we first saw her, and I loved introducing her family. I MISSED HER SO MUCH. Let the theories begin. 5.08-5.10 Stella is one of Rose and Robbie's new band members. She's a very stand out personality, and I haven't really introduced a character quite like her. She butted heads with Robbie back in 5.05, and they've got some more conflict in 5.07. EVERYONE IS SO SAD. It was so much fun to write. Loved writing so many distinct personalities Not a dream Lots of ups and downs for Alex in the next string of eps. YAY! She's got some stuff coming up soon! Thanks so much, Jack! Can't wait for you to read!
