Episode #5-18: "Atonement" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN UPDATED 12/10/2022 - Episode title revealed as 'Atonement.' - VSGuide has learned that the eighteenth episode will offer a resolution to the season-long storyline for Oliver (Justin Hartley) that has involved the ongoing feud, and later war, between him and Thomas Bolt (Jay Hernandez). - Mia Dearden (Elise Gatien), who most recently was caught in the crossfire of this conflict, will play a key role in this episode. "She's still suffering the consequences of Oliver's actions in many ways — she was arrested, the plan to rescue her only made things worse, and she's now left to rot in prison until a trial is set," Malone reminded of the character's circumstance, "She becomes a huge part of concluding this story, not just for Oliver's journey, or Archer's, but there's ramifications for her own 'Watchtower' journey, too." - It is expected that Alaina Huffman will return as Dinah Lance / Black Canary.

Episode #5-19: "Ritual" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN UPDATED 12/10/2022 - Episode title revealed as 'Ritual.' - VSGuide has learned that this episode will explore Dusan's (Bryan Greenberg) ultimate and final plan to fulfill the 'one will rise, the rest will fall' prophecy that has been an ongoing storyline since Season 3, and will see the entire Al Ghul family come together in a climactic battle for their own preservation and reign of power. - Stana Katic reprises her role as Talia Al Ghul. While a part of the Al Ghul family, "Talia remains the sole objector to her brother's plans, which not only seeks to fulfill a doomsday prophecy, but to resurrect Ra's in the process," series creator Jack Malone teases. "She is more concerned with keeping the family's claws out of her son, and doing what she can to keep his soul pure." - Yvonne Strahovski will also appear in this episode. - This episode is expected to be a huge one for Damian Wayne (Asa Butterfield), whose existence was introduced at the end of Season 4, but made their first appearance in the seventh episode of the season, 'Guidance.' Malone told VSGuide, "the plan was to always have Damian orbit this space in the background with appearances few and far between until we reached this exact point of the season where things finally became clear to the audience of what he's been up to and what role he truly plays in Bruce's story, and in this final season."

Exclusive: Chloe's Son Cast — Jace Norman Joins 'Watchtower' as Archer Sullivan-Queen!
It's official! 'Watchtower' has found its new Archer Sullivan-Queen! Actor Jace Norman has been cast in the role of an older, teenage-version of Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver's (Justin Hartley) son who will join the main cast for the show's fifth and final season. A statement was released by showrunner Jack Malone on the exciting casting news: Archer, a fifteen year old high school student and son of two vigilante parents, is said to carry all the passion for uncovering the truth inherited from his mother, and all the potential to wield a bow and arrow and save the world like his father. Living in the public eye, and vulnerable to threats from the enemies of his parents, Archer was trained with the basic skills of self defence, but upon request of Chloe, he was steered away from the possibility of ever donning a suit and fighting crime as a masked vigilante. Instead, Archer finds himself under the protection of a personal body guard, Art (who appeared in the Season 4 finale). However, when things take a turn for the worst, the world (and his parents) might just need Archer to step up and become the hero he knows deep in his bones that he was born to be.
Audiences will meet the character in the season premiere — which takes place ten years after the conclusion of the fourth season.
As for details on the premiere, spoilers have been released (and can be accessed on the front page of the spoilers and speculation thread) and a title has also been revealed. Be sure to check them out. And let us know your thoughts below!

i hope Lana will regular main cast in season 5! and i hope not she an not oliver funeral will in 5x01 episode Lana won't be part of the main cast of characters this season. However, I'm confident she'll pop back up again. The goal is to bring back all the series regular characters from the past in some capacity, and that obviously includes her, too As for the funeral, I can't say anything about who it's for. The only clue is that it's what brings Chloe back to Gotham.

I am literally in love with S5 already. Archer Sullivan-Queen will be GOAT for sure. Also the cast for this season: HELL YEAH. Team Watchtower gaining a legacy and Renee Montoya, count me in Aw, this makes me so happy. Thanks Karl! I hope it lives up to any expectations and hype Archer is definitely one of those characters I'm most excited to write for this season. And establishing his world is a lot of fun, too. We're going to meet his two best friends, and get to know him on his own merits and not just as "the son" of Chloe and Oliver. I'm hoping to thread in a lot of parallels, and hopefully his journey is one that is reminiscent — albeit new — of Chloe's. Looking at what the season is shaping up to be, I feel like legacy is probably the most logical theme coming out of it. After an entire season about embracing destiny, I think it only makes sense for the next (and last) to explore what that destiny leaves behind. It is the end after all. And I'm so happy to hear you like the cast. I was moments from doing something a little weird with the cast this season, but decided to rein the crazy in and settle on these nine characters. For the newbies: I regretted not bumping Lucius up to regular status in Season 4 when he became such a huge character for that season, so I was determined to make him one for the final season and give him a meaty storyline. Archer, for the reasons stated in this "article." And I'm sure I'll do a write up for Renee soon, but I loved the idea of having the perspective of a cop throughout this season's storyline, and considering things that have changed and evolved in the ten year time jump, there needed to be some fresh blood around that particular environment and I think she makes a good fit. Anyway, thanks for the comment. I appreciate the support

Loving the inclusion of Renee, wondering if that means the Helena/Katherine relationship might have some issues...
Also, loved that season poster, but I have no clue who some of those included are! Can't help but spot the use of the 'anarchy' symbol as well...

Now that my shock factor is over. Time for some questions:
1. Will Hope actually get some mention from Chloe? Since she knows she exists? 2.Chloe and Bruce's friendship? It's been 10 years, please tell me they become besties again? 3. Is Watchtower being run by the League, or someone new? 4. Can you tell me if Auntie Mia and Archer get some screen time together? She did change his diapers.hahaha 5. Now I want to know: What happened to Dinah?! Don't get me wrong, I liked the ending of S4, however, A comment you made to me a long time ago, proved that Chloe and Oliver were going to come out of this as a couple again, no matter how much I tried to push her and Jason to be a couple.

Loving the inclusion of Renee, wondering if that means the Helena/Katherine relationship might have some issues... Time will tell, time will tell, haha. I'll have to make an "introducing Renee" post but I haven't written the episode that introduces her yet and like to wait until I have so there's more to talk about for her. Thank you! A lot of casting announcements to be made with those characters on the poster. It's inclusive of the whole season, so that's why you're not familiar with a lot of the faces on it, but all in good time! As for Anarky, that's definitely his symbol. There are some owls flying around too

Now that my shock factor is over. Time for some questions: 1. Will Hope actually get some mention from Chloe? Since she knows she exists? There will be follow up to what happened to Hope in the Season 4 finale. She was significantly older when she showed up again, so Season 5 is going to offer an explanation as to how she functions in her role as Doctor Fate. Chloe hasn't seen Bruce for twelve years. Their relationship broke down from the whole situation with Vicki in Season 4 It's finally the space station ( as set up in the Season 4 finale). As it's known in the comics/animated series is how it's known in-universe now. Mia (Elise Gatien) is on the Season 5 poster in front of Archer. That's her little, hard-to-see face there so... It's funny because the decision of who Chloe should be with in that "flash forward" at the end of Season 4 was decided during that episode, haha. I had no set idea of who she should end up with, or that it should stitch back around to Chloe/Oliver. But when it came time to that decision, it felt like a nice surprise — a bit of a "WTF" moment even if you predicted it. In the present, we ended on Dinah and Oliver riding off together to start their lives, only to jump forward two years to see Chloe and Oliver are somehow back together (and married). It asks a lot of questions, and gives a lot of material for the next season. And now that I'm living with that as a reality for Season 5, it's really nice to feel like things are full circle. This started as a "Chloe and Oliver" type show in the first season, and we're back to those vibes at the beginning of the final season. As for Dinah, she was a series regular in Season 2, and has been a significant perspective on the show from the beginning, so with my goal to bring everyone back in some capacity, you'll definitely see her again. And Dinah Lance / Black Canary is my favourite comic book character of all time. If you're worried she was killed in order to push Chloe and Oliver into a reunion, then I can assure you that's not the case

OMG! OMG! OMG!!
I think I've just had an epiphany about who one of the characters in the first promo poster is since Talia also seems to be in it (I think??) as well as a certain name/bombshell that was dropped in the S4 finale... oh, please let me be right!! If I am, it could definitely be an excellent parallel to what you've already said the season will be looking in too...
[yes, I'm trying to be vague here, in case no-one else has thought/realizes this, so not to give anything away!]

The character you're talking about is definitely one of them. I just don't want to make too many announcements one after the other after the other, so it'll happen more gradually over time, but luckily there's a speculation thread in the meantime, haha
