This series should be really great. I've got some questions!
- How do you plan on ending the series (in a non-spoiler-y way) and opening it up for a season 2? - How many season have you planned or would like to see make its way on the network?

(Dropping in late to say) I will definitely read this series. I love Sci Fi... and this series seems like it (sort of) embodies all that is Sci Fi. Can't wait! (:

Hey, just wanted to say that I haven't had the chance to read the first episode yet, but I definitely plan to and I'll drop it to tell you what I think about it. However, right now, I wanna say that it definitely looks like something I'm going to enjoy.

After seeing the improvements made with The Path I was a little let down with this episode. There were so many grammatical errors that I couldn't really get into the script.
It also felt a little slow for me. Like, the scene inthe training area on page 6 seemed more like filler than moving the plot. Even in tense situations, there were missed opportunities to really capture the moment. For example, when they are going over battle strategies, there's no sense of urgency or drama or excitement.
Ie pg. 32: Julie, May Lionel stand in the room looking at each other.
From there it's straight dialog. The scene could be really enhanced with descriptions of facial expressions, reactions, personal ticks like deep breaths, something to add that extra oomf to the situation. This applies to other scenes as well.
Story wise, I was expecting battles and whatnot but I understand that this is setting things up. Story is your strength and I trust that the next episode will have lots of action in it.
I really just had a hard time getting into things because of the errors so hopefully they'll be fixed. This show has potential and it just needs some finessing.

I really just wanted to show everything like it's a normal day at the office and then look your under attack. That may not have been the best approach but it's all I had at the moment. But the next episodes have really improved from this and have gotten into more detail and such and do not look like crap . And LOTS OF ACTION! So I'm really excited for everyone to see Episode 2 Death of Us! It's really going to be interesting.

So I'm really excited for everyone to see Episode 2 Death of Us! It's really going to be interesting. I'm sorry if this comes off as mean or something, but: You actually don't like it at all? Well, why did you air it? Why didn't you instead take the time to edit the mistakes before you aired it? I'm not too fond of the philosophy many people have going "Oh, our pilot wasn't that good, but the rest of the series will be better!" The pilot starts everything up; it introduces you to the world and the characters and it is the point where readers/watchers decide if the series is something they should follow. Having gotten that out of my system (again, sorry if it came off as mean), I'll have to agree with everything Keisha wrote; there's a lot of potential, but there's a lot of grammatical errors. Also, at some points, I just feel the dialogue brings it down. I'll give an example: LIONEL Well maybe the signal got cut and their fixing it and we’ll hear from them soon. That just doesn't work. You need to add dots and commas... that line would never work when someone spoke it. I'd go about that line something like this: LIONEL Well, maybe the signal got cut and they're fixing it. We'll probably hear from them soon. Another thing that brought it down for me was the stereotype-Lionel, which actually isn't your fault as much as it is real life tv shows and movies. It seems in every show/movie where there are two girls and a guy, the guy almost always is the typical "Food, jokes and girls" kind of guy. Sorry, that really just hit me and it's always been getting on my nerves. I loved the start of the episode, though, with the descriptions of the future and the many new additions to everyday life they have. That's something I'd love to see more of.

Review: "Let it Begin" ~ The Protectors.
Unfortunately, this is a pilot that I didn't enjoy. The episode didn't feel like the beginning of a series, in fact, it felt like an episode halfway through the season, or somewhere in the second or third season. I felt like the characters weren't established as individuals, and that there was nothing to really cling on to and enjoy as I read with confusion, trying to decipher what exactly was going on.
The pilot starts out slow, and does a poor job of introducing the characters. Rather than showing them as individual people, we are basically thrown into the middle of these three characters as they share witty one-liners with each other and do nothing to move the plot forward. Once something starts to pick up, everything starts moving way too fast. Suddenly we're just meant to know what the Alphanians are, and what this "war" everyone is preparing for is about. And this whole "Mole" aspect just didn't work for me.
What this pilot needed to do was establish all of these characters as people in their own right, hint at their past so we can understand who they are and what makes them tick so that we'd have something to look forward to and have an idea of which character we can relate to more or enjoy the most. There were a lot of grammar issues, which I'm not going to take into account here because I'm focusing more on the story and characters ... but it was definitely something that needed to be edited and looked at more than once.
For a science fiction series I was hoping you'd run with the idea of setting up this future that was all mysterious and interesting, and including characters that all had jaded pasts or intriguing elements that would remain a mystery as you slowly peeled back their origins and roots - but we're just thrown into the middle of it all and expected to act like we've been here before.
Ultimately, I have to agree with the previous reviews. I'm not sure I'm going to follow this show religiously, but I wish you the best of luck with it and hope the series begins to pick up. The only thing I liked in the pilot was some of the witty dialogue, but in the bigger picture it was unnecessary. I suggest in the second episode you begin to establish these characters, even if that means spending an entire episode on just one character. (I hope this review isn't too harsh, but there were many problems I had with it)
I don't have a rating because there wasn't much to tally up. I just hope some of this will help you when it comes to future episodes and that the show really begins to pick up and establish these characters, the universe, and the plots a lot better.

Yeah you are right. I should've gone deeper into these characters and not started just right smackdab in the middle. The Mole plot will carry on into later episodes and episode 2 really shows more of a darker side to Julie and it's somewhat less witty. But there is more wit with Lionel . But in Episode two with this battle starting we start to see some people we meet in this episode be killed off and die in very gory ways. And also in episode 3 we are going to divel into more of Julie's life with her brother and how during this journy their relationship begins to crumple. Anything else you wish to advise I will take with open arms. Anything to make this series very enjoyable and very interactive with members on the fourm but thanks Jack for the review and it was not harsh. I needed the wake up call lol Thanks a bunch!
