I have to say I'm loving all of the recent activity and this current conversation.
It's no secret that we all love and adore this site and all of the series there has been throughout the years. I've been apart of this community for over 10 years now and it's been such a great and supportive community for readers and writers alike.
Everyone has their own personal lives and of course, life comes first, I think we are all just missing the old VPN but let's just start focusing on how we can continue to make it strive and that doesn't mean that everyone needs to start posting every day and checking in because let's face it that's not going to be realistic.
There may only be a few active series currently running but that doesn't mean new shows cannot come on board. Matthew has posted his new pitch days ago and there's already been a lot of interest as well as comments from members who haven't had the chance to be as active lately so that's already great news. I think maybe the worry was for new or old members wanting to pitch their idea and the sites main members who make decisions may not be able to give these new ideas a chance due to inactivity, and maybe that might mean restructuring who has a say or the backboard members?
I'm not familiar with the behind the scenes so can't comment on some of the things mentioned. But Brady makes a good point in that even if you've left thoughts on the series there are so many discussion boards and I have always said the more you put in the more you get out. Even if it's a quick 2 mins to pop on for a general chit chat, more activity will lead to more people feeling comfortable to join in the community which will lead to hopefully more pitches and reviews.
I've tried to use my lock downtime to review as much as I could but every one of us knows we can do better, and with everything going on in our day to day lives we can only do what we do. As long as we give what we can this community can strive.
I'm hoping this open chat is a step in the right direction.
