Ugh. Okay, so I love Emma Stone. She is brilliant, and amazing, but the more I read about her attitude towards Mary Jane as she's playing Gwen Stacy, it makes me a little mad. She's all about dissing Mary Jane and it's obvious she knows absolutely nothing about the comics. That's a little disappointing. I'm so tired of the shit she keeps saying. It was funny at first, but she keeps laying it on. -sighs-

I'm sorry, but while I used to irrationally hate Gwen Stacy, I did my research and found that I actually like both Gwen and Mary Jane. They were important to Peter Parker in different ways, in different stages of his life. Gwen may have been his "first love" (which I will debate, but whatever), but Mary Jane ended up being his "one and only" (before Joe Quesada decided retconning their 20 year marriage was a fantastic idea). They both had major impacts on him in different ways -- and even had impacts on EACH OTHER. Not only that, but they weren't really enemies in the comics, THEY WERE FRIENDS! They managed to BE friends despite their feelings for the same man. Sure, they had petty moments but quite honestly what girls DON'T?! Girls created petty. It's no different with Gwen and Mary-Jane.

I think Emma Stone knows a lot about Gwen Stacy, because I remember something about her being at this panel, and referencing a whole lot of crap from the comics, and the reporters/fans were all shocked that she done a ton of research. I'm with you, though, I love both characters. I've never seen her "dis" Mary Jane, in a non-joking manner though. But I haven't been following news on the new film, or the actress that much.

I think what she doesn't really know is the relationship between Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane, or the real specifics on Gwen and Peter. Like, Gwen didn' t know Peter Parker was Spider-Man, like, ever. That's what made her death so disturbing -- she didn't KNOW why the Green Goblin targeted her. Emma said in some interview that Gwen loved Pete BEFORE she ever found out he was Spidey. Which, that could have been a slip up, but then she went on to say that Mary Jane loved Peter BECAUSE he was Spidey. That isn't true, either. If that was the case, Mary Jane would have never stopped going after him because she had ALWAYS known Peter was Spider-Man, even before they met and were friends. That's the issue I'm having XD Like, she doesn't seem to know much about them but really digs into MJ. And I know she's doing it jokingly, but it's getting to be a little too much.

I guess that just me being an over-sensitive MJ fan XD I hate when people hate her for being a "slut" or a "whore" when never was she EVER any of those. Party girl doesn't always mean "slut" or "whore" and a lot of fans don't...seem to get that. I mean, I've seen fans of FELICIA diss MJ like that and honestly, to that I REALLY have to go, "Really? You're gonna call MJ the whore, because honey, um... -points at Felicia- lemme tell you some stuff about THAT bitch."

Okay, I am so sick and tired of the sexist and misogynistic comments that are being made, specifically on Tumblr and Facebook, about Scarlett Johanasson / Black Widow being "too sexy" and her being useless, unable to hold her own, and only there to be the "boobs" of the team. Like, wtf? And they're saying her fight scene is oversexualized. Um, no? If it was a guy a doing that scene, everyone would be raving about how fucking awesome and fantastic it is. But no, because it's a woman, it's slutty.

I love Scarlett, but she is not who I'd cast for the part. She is very soft where I imagine Black Widow as sharper, but still hot as hell. I bet her fight scene is epic though I have no arguments there.

I don't think it's about who they cast. Any woman they cast would have had to put up with the same bullshit that Scarlett is about playing Black Widow and being the only woman on the team. A lot of these guys that do to see these movies, and are fans of comics, don't respect the women characters -- at least not going by the internet. Yes, she's hot. But no, she is not there to be your God damn eye candy. She is there to portay a character is just as good, if not better than, your damn male characters. People need to learn that.

But as for Scarlett as Black Widow, I agree. Scarlett would have been a perfect Emma Frost -- not Black Widow.

She woulda been awesome as Emma! They went through a lot of actresses for Black Widow. They all backed out or turned them down before they settled on Scarlett. true story.

Buffy would go easy at first, but as soon as Natasha popped her with a Widow Sting, she'd start bringing some slayer brawn to the fray. Natasha's fast, but a couple of good connects and she's wobbling, possibly something broken — she whips out her glock and now Buffy's dodging — right where Natasha wants her.
