“Okay so here's the deal. I'm 15 years old, and about to enter my freshmen year of High School. High School is like the Savannah. It's either you're at the top of the food chain...or the bottom. The high school is divided into sections, you have the popular kids, jocks, the goths, the nerds, and then theirs me and my friends. Not even a class. That's how low we are on the food chain. So just stay tuned. I've got a lot to rant about.” Welcome to North Shore High School. The place to be. But sometimes it's not really all that fun. Amanda Ryder (Emma Stone) has just started her Freshmen year at North Shore. But with her warnings from her older brother Darren, she begins to fear high school and what's going to happen. But with her two best friends Terri (Katrina Graham) and Clay Hanson (Logan Lerman). And this is their story on how they will survive high school. Everyday they film their diary and give helpful tips for kids to survive high school, even if it doesn't work for them. Brian Melanson presents a new view of High School and the ways to survive it. WELCOME TO NORTH SHORE! MAIN CHARACTERSPORTRAYED BY EMMA STONE Being just a freshmen in High School, Emma feels her entire life is coming to an end. But with the help of her friends she learns to try and survive the first year of high school. But when she begins to fall for the quarterback Derek Appleton, his girlfriend Shelby and her go head to head all year. But it's only the beginning. As she struggles with everyday life, she records her diaries to her webcam expressing everything. PORTRAYED BY KATRINA GRAHAM Ever since she was little she was always designing her own outfits. Now that she is older dream is to become a big time fashion designer. Using herself to model her own clothes she tries to beat out the Junior Fasionita as best dressed. As she and her friends try to get through high school she begins to help other kids with their “Fashion Problems”. PORTRAYED BY LOGAN LERMAN Always being the man behind the camera he is always video taping the life of his friends. Now that they are in High School he begins to video tape every event that happens for future generations. He joins the school's Tabloid like site called “TruHigh.Com” where all the adventures are spread around the entire school. RECURRING CHARACTERSPORTRAYED BY VICTORIA JUSTICE She's the girl that you just want to punch in the face for being to annoying and perky on Monday mornings. As she tries to stick around with Amanda and her friends. But as their desperate tries to avoid her, she always find them. She has always been in love with Clay and will never stop following him. PORTRAYED BY ROBBIE AMELL The classic jock who does good in school and is a beast on the field. He is the teenage heartthrob of the entire school. He is currently dating the dumbest but hottest girl in school. But being popular since he was in the second grade can he keep this rep when he meets Amanda?PORTRAYED BY MEGAN FOX She is possibly one of the dumbest people you will ever meet. But the only thing the guys care about is how hot she is. But when she begins to get jealous of Derek talking to Amanda, she will take the smart move (Yeah Right) and the war begins. PORTRAYED BY RAVEN SYMONE Possibly the most coolest teacher anyone could want! Paige is the English teacher. But the only reason because she's so cool, every day she dresses up, plays games, and much more to teach the kids more and more. But being the most wacky teacher at North Shore she must try and find a way to make school fun. EPISODESOn the first day of school, Amanda Ryder (Emma Stone) and her friends Terri (Katrina Graham) and Clay (Logan Lerman) attended their very first day of school as freshmen. But since it's only freshmen orientation, they don't have to deal with the upperclassmen....yet. As they go around the school, Amanda begins to fall for Derek (Robbie Amell) and his girlfriend Shelby (Megan Fox) could not be more frustrated with her. Meanwhile they all soon realize that this is not the high school they expected to go to. The first day of school with the upperclassmen is not the same as it was the day before. Seniors are bossing around the freshmen, Juniors are also bossing around the freshmen, and the sophomores try to help. As they try to get through the crowded hallways, Clay (Logan Lerman) finds his way to the TruHigh headquarters and joins on the site as a journalist. Terri (Katrina Graham) and Amanda (Emma Stone) become the victims in a very violent game of dodge ball. Trying to make their names in the school, Terri (Katrina Graham) and Amanda (Emma Stone) join the various clubs in the school. From Chess Club to Dance Club. But when they try out all the different clubs they all face the same person, Shelby (Megan Fox). She begins to mess with Amanda and her attempts to make a name for herself. Meanwhile Clay (Logan Lerman) begins to fall for the Australian exchange student Ricki Underwood (Claire Holt) which makes Sara (Victoria Justice) jealous. When Amanda and Terri find their place in Drama club with Derek (Robbie Amell) doing double duty with Drama and Football and their English teacher Ms. Dawson (Raven Symone) as the instructor, they begin to reenact famous scenes from playwright history. One of which include the balcony scene between Romeo and Juliet with Derek as Romeo and Amanda as Juliet. Meanwhile, Clay asks Ricki out on a date and Sara tries to sabotage it. When Clay is given the assignment to give TruHigh gossip on the students, he goes to Ms. Dawson who teaches him not only English, but how to go undercover as a new person. As he begins to spy on the students as a Janitor, a grumpy old man, and a catholic school girl? He finds out something big about Shelby and tells Amanda who may have finally found a way to get back at Shelby for all the things she did to her. Meanwhile, Terri designs a dress for the principal that only Lady Gaga would wear. With the students reading Dracula in English class, The vampire trend hits North Shore! Everyone is fighting over Jacob and Edward. Some over which is better Vampire Diaries or Twilight. Kids coming to school wearing more Gothic clothing and fangs in their mouths. Some coming in with Sparkles, some covering themselves from the sun and drinking Tru Blood. AS the vampire trend gets out of hand, Amanda takes the next step in vampirism and embraces the look of one of the original vampires. NOTE: This series was just an idea with the school year starting back up. So I just wanted to kinda to show the wild and comedic side of high school and how fun it is! But this series will not be a drama! NO! One drama show is enough for me! HA! But this is going to be very funny and have very funny elements with Amanda's Webcam diaries and the every day life of high school kinda like Hollywood HAHA! So hope you enjoy! i will always take constructive opinions! I don't care

For a minute I was like, "huh?" with your note about the school year starting up and then I remembered the school year in Australia is a bit different to everyone else XD But anyway, on to the actual pitch. It sounds pretty good, a straight comedy is something I don't think the VPN has at the moment (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so it would be cool to introduce something of that genre. I do have a issue with pitch presentation. There are a lot of missing words and spelling errors that make it looked rushed and were making me cringe as I was reading it through. I'd suggest giving it a quick once over to fix all that Onto the good stuff though. I like the characters and general feel of this idea. It kinda reminds me of 'Lizzie McGuire' a bit and looks like it could be a lot of fun to read. I'd love to see some more development with this, so far it's looking pretty interesting

Hehe. MJ, I'm the guy from Australia. I think Brian's from ... some other place lol. Onto the pitch, I think writing comedy is a really tough genre to tackle. You could be funny, hilarious around your friends, but when it comes to "writing" comedy, its completely different; so I just want to see a pilot or something before I make a full judgement on the pitch. A show set in High School? I'm not sure about that - I know its an original concept, but, I feel like the jokes, or situations, will be rather silly. Great characters, cast (excluding Megan Fox) - which I wanna just say, yes, we give everyone the write to choose who they want to portray their characters, but I don't see Megan Fox doing a Teen/Comedy series. Last of all, I support any new ideas, new genres, and would like to see a pilot, but I'm not a huge fan of "silly" jokes -- and thats the feel I'm getting at the moment from the show. Good luck, though, Brian!

And sorry to be a pest, but can you reduce your image size -- it stretches the forum.

Oh, I ment that I'm from Aus and therefore everyone else usually has different school times to us Oh! 100% agree with this. Comedy generally goes one of two ways: you either pull it off and it's hilarious or it falls flat and really isn't funny. Humour in a written medium is also much harder than, say, humour in a visual medium. On tv when a character delivers a funny line it's enhanced by their actions, tone of voice and the way the characters around them act. Humour in plain writing form needs to be very witty and sharp to get people thinking 'that's funny' let alone getting them to laugh out loud. Though, if you can pull it off I'm sure this series could be good

The only over the top funny is Raven AHAHHA But yeah I am thinking of someone else to do Megan's character. She was just the first thing that came to my head HHAHA But thanks for the comment! The pitch will improve I promise that HAHA

Well first off I love the idea of a show set in high school, but have to go with Jack and MJ on this one. Writting a comedy series is a hard thing to pull off, what if you made it into a drama show you have a bunch of different characters and it may work better towards you.
second if this show were to actually get picked up you would need to change the name of it. As there's all ready a show titled North Shore. Which starred Shannon Doherty.
Either way no matter what this becomes I still give the pilot a reading.

Did not know it's basically based off my school name! LOL But I am try to consider to change this to a dramady lol

Alright so heres the plan. If many people remember my High School Journals it's going to be styled like that! lol I have plans to bring in some of the storylines from that movie and turn it into a series still trying to think if I should keep the title NORTH SHORE or change it to HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALS. Which is better to you guys? Tell me!!!

The title doesn't have to change. There's NO rules that says otherwise -- and there are many shows/movies out there by the same name. I'm not interested in a "dramedy" with this show. Its still a "drama" series, and the network already has a high school drama, a college drama, and a drama about life (your show). I think, in that department, things look fine. I also don't want to see you give up on your original concept -- hone your genres, and practise writing comedy. P.S// Before I said you had great characters, and you still do, but I would like to suggest keeping to a maximum of five. I don't know if its just me, but, when there are so many different characters in a first season, I find it hard to have a favourite (and usually its characters that keep me with a show). Seven characters in the first season seems a bit much, and so, if you could (I know this will be hard) sacrifice a few characters, that'd be great. There's always room to grow, but you need to start smaller to grow bigger. Shelby seems like the best character to off, the teacher can be a recurring role, and possibly Sara as well. But its up to you, they just seem like the likely choice, from my perspective. So yeah, I'd love to see you tackle a comedy, and not ANOTHER drama.

Yeah, I kinda agree with this point too. Pick a few characters as your mains and if you still really want to keep the rest have them as recurring characters instead. They can always become more permanent if you get past a first season. Large casts, especially with a first season can be a little hard to relate to. You have so many different personalities all vying for screen time and people don't get to see enough of a character to get attached to them. If people aren't attached to the characters they aren't attached to the story and the idea won't get far. I'd suggest keeping Amanda, Terri and Clay as main characters and all the rest you have as recurring/supporting. That's just my opinion though, feel free to do as you want, it is your idea after all
