Batman (TAS) stays true to the dark, complex character of the DC Universe, whilst taking animated form. The series was created due to the success of the Tim Burton film of the same name, and follows the weekly adventures of the Dark Knight. The show itself revolves soley around the character of Bruce Wayne/Batman, with some recurring characters like Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock, and on rare occassion, Robin. (Note: This show was also responsible for bringing on board Harley Quinn, one of my favourite Batman villains of all time. Much like Smallville brought Chloe into the comics, this series brought Harley in.)

I've just started my rewatch. This show is my go-to-source for anything "Batman."

Given the fact that Kevin Conroy still voices the character of Batman in some format to this day shows the continued influence these series has in DC Animation and Media.
At the same time, I credit this series for creating interest in the pairing of Nightwing and Batgirl in the comics.
