I've decided to add Castiel's temporary death to my list of favorite character death scenes to my list. He played such a large role and I think that killing him off would be like killing Angel off of Angel.
I'm either very hopeful, or just in complete denial. I'm really hoping it's not the ladder.

Sun & Jin's death on "Lost." Jin trying so hard to save Sun, but after realizing there was no way, he refused to let her die alone. One of the most emotion scenes of the series, in my opinion. I loved those two.

That one pissed me off. They had a friggen kid. Jin, the idiot he is, decided it would be better to die than be with his child.

Valid point. But still, I loved that scene.

my top 5 are... 5. Gaeta in Battlestar Galactica From someone who was so full of passion and honour to later be so corrupted, it was an interesting end I would not have foreseen in season one. 4. Marissa in The OC A touchy moment, that is sad as well as meaningful, but the character was too destructive and the writers had taken her her course and really left her with only one way out. 3.Carson Beckett in Stargate Atlantis A sad moment, I almost shed a tear. It was sad to see him leave the series. But the series did ruin this moment by bringing him back in clone form. 2. Wash from Serenity After the death of Shepherd Brook earler on you can't believe that someone else is going to die and the moment is pure brilliance. Although technically not a TV program, it was spawned from a show and Wheldon said it would have happened in the series. 1. Janet Fraiser in Stargate SG-1 A moment of true sadness. The fact you know someone has died but don't find out for half the episode is amazingly strong. I loved the character and she is sorely missed. I would actually agree with every single one of those... interesting that I would have put them in that order too. Janet's and Carson's death really did have nearly in tears. Carson's death is so brilliant because not only is a sad moment, but he did it thinking he was safe after just saving someone from an exploding tumour (you have to watch the episode I think to understand).

^Hi, Dave! I think what did it for me with Carson's death, what made it so powerful, was that it was not part of any big storyline or something dramatic build-up... it just happened, in a normal "event-of-the-week" sort of episode. That was brilliant.

That was brilliant. hi amin. i would have to agree, that is certainly something that makes it even better. its a shame about the whole clone storyline, that really did spoil his death. Of course originally it was the clone that would have died and not the real carson, but the writers thought that the clone wouldn't have had enough time to have developed. good call in my mind. Beckett was one of those rare characters that was simply brilliant and wanted to see more of, but ultimately his death was needed in order to give the show more realism and bring home the dangerous circumstances that they all lived in.

Random Russian Gladiator slave guy in Spartacus: Season two. The dude got his face sliced off. I'm not usually big on gore and blood, even though they both highly populate this series, but that moment was just -- wow.

Here is a list of characters who deaths have killed me a little inside: Fred & Cordelia - Angel Buffy - BTVS Alex - Roswell Jenna - The Vampire Diaries Prue - Charmed (More of the fallout from her death. Anytime Piper cries I hurt. LOL) Charlie, Sun, Jin, Juliet & Jack - LOST Jenny - The L Word (Not so much that she died, because her character was a B... well you know, but the ending and how it happened remained a mystery, suicide or murder, but her goodbye video seemed like it may have been the first of the two.) Keith - One Tree Hill Denny Duquette & George O'Malley - Grey's Anatomy
And the ALL-TIME worst death, one that kills me every time I watch it...
Jen - Dawson's Creek. (I lose my crap every I watch the finale where she tells Jack he's her soul mate and then wakes up looks at her grandma and dies then her grandma wakes up and looks at Jen who is now dead. OMG!)
Yes underneath this manly exterior I am a sucky baby crier and weirdly enough I am okay with that. LOL.

I don't know if this counts... but in Daybreakers, which is my favorite movie of all time, when that guy being administered the test blood and is all: "I am fine." And then explodes? On opening night, I swear to GOD, in all the silence, I CRACKED THE HECK UP! I laughed so hard!!! I didn't even mean to do it, but the entire theatre thought I was absolutely crazy. Then laughed uneasily along with me. XDD Favorite death to this DAY.

Viserys Targaryen in ''Game of Thrones.'' His death was just so well deserved, it was perfect.

I have been meaning to post in here, I'm not sure why I put it off for so long. XD
There's no particular order to these, just deaths that I remember as having a real impact on me as I watching them (as in, they made me cry more than usual XD)
Joyce from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don't think I've ever cried for an entire episode before. When I re-watched this episode, it was Dawn's reaction that made me cry the most. Last Thursday, a boy in my year was taken off life support after being brought back from cardiac arrest, and the atmosphere at school after he past away made me think of Anya's reaction to Joyce's death - no one knew quite what to do.
Ianto from Torchwood. Ianto was my favourite character in Torchwood, and he was really only just finding his place in the team when he died. And because Ianto and Jack were my OTP for ages, and after Jack was such an asshole to him all through Children of the Earth his death seemed even more tragic.
ET from Sea Patrol. And his almost death earlier on in the series. Again, because ET (Josh) and Nav (Nikki) were one of my favourite couples, and for him to die right after he proposed to her and their love was no longer "forbidden" because he was going to leave the Navy, was heartbreaking. And the fact that whole show went downhill after they were both gone didn't help either.
Rose's "death" on Doctor Who. I was completely infatuated with Rose's character. Although she didn't exactly die, Doomsday for me will forever be remembered as both one of my favourite and one of the saddest Doctor Who episodes I've seen.
Karofsky's suicide attempt on Glee. For me, Glee has always been one of those shows that tries to teach teenagers something about life without lecturing them about it. Like most people, Karofsky barely even crossed my mind (I had to resort to Google just to remember his name), but the episode was really about the tragic ramifications of bullying and, in particular, homophobia. At the time the episode was released, one of my closest friends kept telling me about how she wanted to kill herself after a relationship breakdown, and because of my own personal investment in matters of sexuality and the fact that I was working on an Independent Research Project for Community and Family Studies about Homophobia in my high school, the episode really hit home for me. Needless to say, I was crying before I had even really registered what he was about to do, and I'll always see that episode as one of the hardest hitting and most emotional episodes of Glee.

In order it popped into my mind:
George and Lexie from Grey's Anatomy (I can't watch those season finals without crying...) Romano from ER (He had nooooo luck with helicopters....) Carson Beckett from Stargate: Atlantis SG1 in that future episode from Stargate Kate from NCIS (Stopped watching the series after her death) Nathan from Heroes (It was one of the most heartbreaking moments in season 4) Alex from Third Watch
I don't know if it happens to you too, but I have a really bad luck with fav characters. When I watch a series or a movie or anything and I choose my favourite character, this character dies soon =_=
