Any time Sam and Dean die in Supernatural I want to just cry....except for all the amusing Dean ones from that one episode XD. Sam's first death when Dean just breaks and goes and sells his soul I love it and Dean....man when those hounds rip him up. MY BOYS DYING ALWAYS MAKES ME SAD! I was also sad when at the end of season 5 Bobby and Cass "die".
Let me see...who else...We already mentioned Piper dying in Charmed which gets me too. I love Piper so much she and Leo belong together . I quit watching LOST when Charlie died because it pissed me off so much.
ANYA DYING IN BUFFY!! I LOVE ANYA AND SHE FREAKING DIED TWICE!! Both times were very touching especially her giving her life for Andrew. And I know people don't like him but I though Spike dying in the series finale was pretty touching, a redeeming moment for him.

Anya's death was ... oh my god, so surprising and tragic. I think I really did cry when it happened.

Both of Anya's deaths were tragic! She is singing about marrying Xander and BAM! Impaled on the wall! And the second one she went out fighting and angry about bunnies XD. I love anya so much.

I like the way Isobel died in the Vampire Diaries. I never really liked her so, she deserved it, even though she did it to herself

What about Chris in "Charmed" that was really sad and his baby self being born made it better but still sad. And Lydia in "One Tree Hill" which was super sad how they dragged it out. Also Ellie in "One Tree Hill" and Peyton found her first.

Oh I agree about Chris! Him dying and his Dad there trying to help but there isn't ANYTHING he can do! I love both of those guys and it was just a heart wrenching moment.

Well the character death that really got to me in a television series would definitely have to be Prue's death in Charmed. Though we don't see her die, the song they play at her funeral gets me all teary-eyed every time. Oh, and a close second, though I'm sure not many people know this show, is Trish Wellington's death in the Thriller series Harper's Island. To find out your fiancé assisted in murdering your close family and friends, and then kills you as well all for another girl... yeah.. total tearjerker right there

At the end of Season 5, Anya was supposed to die, but the actress moved her arm while Xander was carrying her. Accident or intentional, the show either changed their minds or missed the cut and Anya lived for the remainder of the series.

Top Five deaths in T.V. I rank in both emotional impact as well as the effect it had on the characters and the push it had on their arcs.
Spoilers!
#5 - Juliet - Lost
She was the best female character in the series and they killed her and not Kate. However, her death was incredibly sad and it seemed to effectively kill of the evil love triangle/square/hexagon/heptadecagon/whatever shape it had turned into by this point. Anyway, it killed it off and set up the rest of Sawyers arc.
#4 - Tara - Buffy
Killed that evil bitch off. Her entire point was to be a shitty love interest and its quite obvious. Plus it set up the three part Evil Willow arc.
#3 - Curtis "Lemonhead" Lemanski - The Shield
The first major character to die, it set up the rest of Shane's arc as well as destroying Mackey's and Ronnies friendship with him. Lem was my favourite character in the series. Shane simply gave Lem a sandwich and dropped a grenade in his car and just walked away.
#2 - Dean - Supernatural
His descent into Hell. I remember sitting up late, watching the scene, wondering how he's gonna get himself out of this situation and then he doesn't. He gets chewed on by a Hellhound and sent straight to Hell. And it set up the events of the next two seasons so it's a pretty important death.
#1 - Boone - Lost
Boone was the first character to die in Lost. His death, however, was very important in pushing the tension between Jack and Locke to breaking point and really setting up both of their arcs for the rest of the series. Plus his death was damn sad. Poor Boone...

I've recently started to watch Lost, and in 4 days time, I'm already up to season 2, episode 10. About two episodes ago, Shannon was shot and killed. That was pretty shocking, and yes -- Boone's death would definitely be on my list. Really sad.

I think Alex's death on Nikita was cool, even though it was only for about 25 seconds, and she was brought back by Amanda. The fact that Alex poured her feelings out to Amanda, by saying "I want to live!" Then BAM, Amanda activates her kill chip. That was pretty twisted on Amanda's part, which I love.

I read this and was like: "THEY KILLED ALEX OFF IN SEASON TWO ALREADY?!?!" And then I had that shocked/upset heart-drop feeling, and then remembered what you're actually talking about. But, omg.

At least give us a whole season of Alex-sexiness before you go off and do something crazy! lol, but that scene was so epic to me.
