Writer Hired for Assassin's Creed Movie
Ubisoft Motion Pictures and New Regency have hired up-and-coming British writer Michael Lesslie to pen their big screen Assassin's Creed adaptation, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Lesslie is an acclaimed English playwright who wrote "Prince of Denmark," which was performed at the National Theatre in 2012. The two companies are currently searching for a director to take on the film.
Michael Fassbender will star in and is producing the video game adaptation with Conor McCaughan.

Thought I'd get some kind of discussion going: What video game or video game franchise would you most like to see adapted to film or television?
For me, I would love some kind of "Mass Effect" tv series with a Game of Thrones budget. New Star Wars spinoff films based on "Knights of the Old Republic". There are plenty more, but I thought I'd let others give their picks.

I would really enjoy a mini-series, or full blown television show, of Alan Wake. The game itself is set up as one, so I think it would be really interesting. Also, a Mass Effect series would be absolutely brilliant!
I would love a Dead Space film(s)... I don't know, I think if done right they would be absolutely terrifying and awesome.

I think an awesome series, in my opinion would be the Bioshock series. I know that's already like a story in itself but with how Bioshock: Infinite ended there are like endless possibilities the could do with Booker and Elizabeth. Especially with Rapture and stuff.
I haven't played Dead Space, but from what I heard it could be scary. Or Minecraft, it could be just like the Lego Movie.

A Dead Space film would be insane. I'm actually too afraid to play the game, so I'm not sure how long I would last during a movie. Especially if it was well made. I'm only on the first Bioshock game, and even now, I think it would make a killer tv series. I'd watch that in a heart beat.

I have never personally played Dead Space but have crossed paths with the soundtrack a few times and if that's any reflection of the game I would be totally down for a Dead Space film.
I think I would love to see a Tomb Raider reboot. Especially after playing one of the newest games on PS3. I wouldn't mind a film based on the Infamous videogames. Anti-hero all the way. Lol. I guess it wouldn't matter if it was Infamous or Prototype. I mean they're practically the same game. Yeah, I said it. Lol. I also really liked Kingdom of Amulur - Reckoning. They could probably turn that into a series of films.

A read about an upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, supposedly written by Marti Noxon, but I don't know the status of that project. Hopefully it's not completely dead, because I would really love a new Tomb Raider movie. Its part of the reason Brady and I decided to start a VS project for it.

I certainly agree with you guys about a Mass Effect series. There's so many different stories they could tell, and so many new directions they could take.
I'd also love to see a Metal Gear Solid movie at some point. But you'd need a director who was willing to embrace both the overly serious tone, and the quirky side of that universe.

Even ignoring that it looks nothing like the games, that looks terrible.

I didn't see the Timothy Olyphant 'Hitman' movie from years ago, and I probably won't see this one either.

You know, I would love to see a Legend of Zelda movie- but I worry that if it was ever attempted it just wouldn't be that good. It would be hard to capture even just one of the games in one movie. Maybe a series of movies? I don't know. Either way, I would love to see a good live-action adaption of Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess (my personal favourites).
