For now, we're staying quiet on anything concerning Melanie. Though, I do have to say we learn an important thing about her in episode two as well...but I won't reveal what or why. Episode two is a huge episode for Kristen, obviously, but also for Melanie. She just isn't the "star" this time, so to speak.

Oh, well that's cool. I really like Melanie, but I can't wait to see the other characters getting a chance in the spotlight. Overall, I'm just excited for the whole show. You've definately got something great here! xD

Aww! XD I'm glad you like Melanie. She is, admittedly, one of my favorites to write for and I can't wait until you guys get to see more of her and to watch her grow as the series progresses. We've got some great things in store for her.

THIS JUST IN: ESTIMATED AIR DATE SET! Just a few days after getting picked up by the network, we have managed to catch up with series creator Aimee Nicole, assistant director Monica Patterson and executive producer Maddie Funderburg to discuss a premiere date. The Outcasts, which, quoting the official promo for the series, states it is an AU virtual series that follows the journey of Spider-Girl ( Missy Peregrym) and the X-Men, is coming sooner than originally expected! "We've been discussing it for a little while now," the creator says, "we're excited to finally have an air date ready, even if it is only an estimate." "So for all the cool kids hanging on the edges of their seats like an old lady at a fifty percent off on yarn sale...," the assistant director grins, "The Outcasts is scheduled to premiere late May... early June if one of us gets abducted by aliens." When asked about why they chose those particular dates, this is what they had to say. "We wanted to make sure we have enough episodes finished before airing so the actors, the writers, and the producers wouldn't stress," says the executive producer of the series, "Not to mention May just seems like a good time to start as any." However, what we weren't expecting was the announcement made by the series creator about the actual day of the premiere, and what it holds in store. "After a bit of deliberating and long consideration, Maddie, Monica and I have decided that premiere day for Outcasts will be much bigger than expected," she said. When asked just exactly what she meant by that statement, she went on to say, "The Outcasts premiere will not only be airing Along Came A Spider, but we will also air Seeing Red the same night, immediately after the series premiere episode." She then backed it up by saying, "Normally we wouldn't do this, but the two episodes are linked together in a way that we were able to make it work. At first, we weren't going to do it, but after looking at the two and talking a little, we decided to go ahead with it." So sometime in late May, or early June if one of them is "abducted by aliens", we can expect a two episode premiere of The Outcasts! What are your thoughts on this? Sound off below!

We're glad to have a positive response to it! We're so excited about airing two episodes on the premiere date in about a month. And soon, I will post up a preview clip for the first episode. Closer to the air date, I might give you guys one for Seeing Red as well.
Also, stay tuned for another exclusive interview and some more spoils by the end of the night/early tomorrow afternoon as Seeing Red goes into Post-Production!

CASTING NEWS! It's official! The producers have just confirmed that both Olivia Wilde and Elisha Cuthbert have both been booked to guest star in the first season of the Outcasts! We managed to catch up with the two actresses after the announcement, and this is what they had to say. "I know that I'll appear at least once," Wilde tells us, "anything else is still under debate. But I'll be in one of the episodes towards the mid-season finale." When asked who she will be playing and what she can tell us about her role, she told us, "You'll just have to watch and find out. I can tell you though, I won't be playing a mutant, if that's what you want to know." Elisha Cuthbert, when asked about the details on her new role, said, "Right now, I've signed on for at least two episodes. As for who I'm playing, like Olivia said, you'll just have to watch and find out!" The actress then laughed and added, "But if it's worth anything, I do interact with Missy more than anyone else at this point. But that's all I can say!" What do you think about the casting of Olivia Wilde and Elisha Cuthbert? What are your suspicions, your comments? Sound off below!

Leaked!: Jessica Biel was overheard on the set of "Seeing Red" laughing, "Just watched Missy alone in the Hall of Cerebro. Maybe Mary-Jane had a point when she called Melanie crazy!"

It won't be a HUGE glimpse into her past, but she is going to say something that will come up later in the season when we actually do get to take a dive into her past and learn what made her Spider-Girl. As for Mary-Jane...let me tell you, her "secret" does not amuse Melanie in the slightest. XD

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH JESSICA BIEL As promised before, we have finally gotten to sit down with THE OUTCASTS star Jessica Biel. She is playing the stoic, slightly troubled Leader of the X-Men, Kristen Sparks, who will come to be known as Cyclops. First of all, we want to know about Scott Summers and Kristen Sparks. The gender switch has seemed to worry a few people. What can you tell us?"Not to worry," Biel states, "There isn't much of a difference between them. There are some tiny differences, but I think that has to do with more of the gender. Where Scott just came off as a hard ass, it makes Kristen come off as...well, for lack of a better term, kind of a bitch." Biel then went on to say, "Kristen has also had a different series of events happen in her early life. Anyone who knows the original story of Scott knows that he went through a lot. Kristen has been through an equally troubling time, but it's almost entirely different. But it still leaves them in the same place as far as their personalities go." What can we expect out of Kristen this season?"Where do I begin?" Biel laughs, "I guess I should start off with a warning. Kristen definitely isn't going to be a character you're going to like the first time you see her. Or, maybe you will, but I think the majority won't. She gets better after her first appearance, I promise, but Seeing Red is not her shining moment." When asked why, she told us, "You'll have to wait and see. It's a series of things, so she's completely justified in the way that she comes off, but it's still not that great of a light to be put in." Biel also said, "There are a lot of things that will happen with Kristen in the first season. As the leader of the X-Men, she deals with a lot and in her personal life she has a lot of problems that come into play because of how she feels towards her abilities. They [her powers] hold her back, and we see that a lot with her." Rumor has it that Kristen isn't the only future member of the X-Men we see in "Seeing Red". What can you tell us?"The other mutant is a well-known member of the X-Men that fans will definitely recognize," Biel tells us, "and the relationship between this mutant and Kristen in the show, actually is one that we haven't seen in the comics or cartoons, or even the movies. They're actually best friends, but its a friendship that may take a little while to see because of everything that happens with Kristen in this episode. It goes along with what I said about her not being that likable on her first appearance." Lastly, we also heard that Cyclops and Spider-Girl have a little tension between them. What's going on there?"That I can't answer right now," she says, "We see it introduced in Seeing Red, but I can't tell you what causes it or what exactly it is. You'll just have to wait and see." Biel then jokingly added, "I can tell you, though, that it will be one interesting ride."
