With the premiere quickly on the way the schedule for the first run has been decided. Due to a shorter amount of episodes than some other series on the VPN, the schedule for Bad Wolf will be different.

June 3rd:: Episode 1x01- "Shadows of the Past"
June 10th:: Episode 1x02- "Taboo"
June 17th:: Break
June 24th:: Episode 1x03- "Who-dunnit?"
July 1st:: Episode 1x04- "Out of Balance"
July 8th:: Break
July 15th::Episode 1x05- "TBA"
July 22nd:: Episode 1x06-"TBA" (Mid-Season Finale)

with Cori Burkett

With the first episode of "Bad Wolf" just days away we decided to catch up with an important behind-the-scenes member of the team, Cori Burkett.

What is your main job on the "Bad Wolf "Team?

"Well, we joke that I'm the "Supreme Grammar Nazi", but I'm basically an editor. I read over the scripts, give my thoughts on the content, and add a few thousand commas."

What is the most difficult part of your job?

"And the most difficult part of the job...well, my right hand gets a little worn out sometimes. I like to call it comma strain...I've worn out three comma keys on my computer already. I'm going to have to start buying them in bulk."

How is it working with the director and cast?

"Working with the cast, it.....it's certainly a unique experience. I really love it. Billie and David are fun on their own, but when you get them together, they're a riot. Sometimes, I don't know how we get anything done. And I love that they bring their own ideas about their characters to the table. David's a whole different character now, and he's really stepped up to the plate."


What made you want to be a part of the production?

"What made me want to work on the project...It's always great collaborating with family, because they can understand you, but also offer an outside perspective. When my sister asked me to be part of this project, I didn't even hesitate. We really understand each other's creative processes, but are different enough to complement each other. Besides that, the pilot drew me right in. I couldn't refuse."

Do you have a favorite moment?

"I don't know if I can say I have a single favorite moment, but I have to say that Episode 3 is really up my alley. Just wait. You're gonna love it."

What is one storyline you'd like to see in the show?

"You know, I really want to do something where we can separate John and Rose and let them fend for themselves a bit. I love the interactions they have of course, but things are a bit strained. Both John and Rose have a lot to deal with right now, and it just seems to me like a lot of these can't really be confronted until they've had some time to themselves. Not very specific, I know, but it's what I'm waiting for."

Less than twenty-four hours until the premiere of "Bad Wolf" and the VS Guide was able to sit down with the creator, director, and executive producer, Kerry Burkett.

With only a day away, how does it feel to be premiering here on TheVPN?

"It is scary! I know it has gotten good reviews already, but I am still nervous about letting the whole world see it. However, I'm also really excited."

How hard was it to write for already established characters compared to characters of your own creation?

"Well, I suppose it was hard at first. I spent a long time watching, and re-watching the show in order to get the voice and mannerisms down. I know people love these characters so I obsess a little on portraying them perfectly."

What can Doctor Who and Torchwood fans expect from this series?

"They can expect a lot of references to the parent show. As far as Torchwood fans, I'm not certain if they will be as pleased. In "Pete's World" everything changed when they set the universe right after the fourth season of Doctor Who. Even Rose wasn't sure what she was coming home to so this new version of Torchwood is very different."

How has Rose changed since we last saw her?  And what can we expect from her?

"She is older and a little more experienced now. She is also apprehensive about her new companion. Rose in the beginning just threw herself into the new world and experienced it. Now she is a little more cautious. You will also see her kick a lot of butt."

Will we, the fans, see any guest appearances from some of our favorite and beloved characters from the series?

"Yes. A spoiler was released awhile back saying that a beloved character from a previous season will be showing up. I can also tell you it will be in episode five."

How will this series differentiate from other Doctor Who series?

"It will be different because there is no Time Lord. Everyone is human and will be sharing human experiences."

I think many fans fell in love with the dynamic between Rose and The Doctor.  Can we expect that same dynamic between her and Ten II?

" I said before there is some apprehension on Rose's part, but they will still have lots of fun banter. I hope it will reflect the original series the way I think it does."

What kind of surprises do you have in store for us this season?

"If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise would it?"

Will we see The Doctor again?

"Yes...that is all I am saying on that."

What can someone who's never seen any of the Doctor Who series get from Bad Wolf? Will they be able to enjoy it without watching Dr. Who?

"I think it would be easier to enjoy it for people who are fans of the original show, but it is still possible to like it even if you haven't. I will say to all those who haven't see Doctor Who. GO WATCH IT!! THAT SHOW ROCKS!"

Being a first time showrunner was it difficult planning this series, and what sort of advice can you give to other showrunners?

Never give up when you are down about your series. Keep working and keep refining it. Rely on fellow writers and friends. They can be the best sources of encouragement, but it only works if you open up. Also...writing episode 3 is absolutely the worst. If an episode isn't working and you don't like it then scrap it and re-start.

As I told Brady adn Darrin.....you have to take care of these guys here at the VPN. I know you and I dont talk as much but you are pretty awesome. And youre pitches are always flawless.

I havent told anyone. But I was and still am jealous of you. YOu have such fire and passion behind your pitches AND your series Bad Wolf. I find that is very key in writing. So I'm glad you are here at the VPN
