I have a question, Will we have a episode where the original team watchtower (Chloe,Oliver,Mia, and Helena) do a mission together? Like the good old days? The only reason i didnt say Bruce is because of reasons that should be obcious for anyone who read S1 It's entirely possible. I wouldn't expect it to happen this season, purely because I don't think there's an opportunity for it and everything else is pretty locked in when it comes to the episodes and their plot. But I like bringing Mia back, and now that Oliver is back in the story, it's totally possible (even if its a flashback story).

Yaaaasssss.hahaha I cant wait. Another question, why didnt you add Supergirl to the two parter back in S2? First and foremost, I just have to say that Supergirl is one of those characters that just doesn't fit into the world of 'Watchtower.' She doesn't have that strong a connection with Chloe — if any at all — and she hasn't met any of the other characters (besides Oliver, who was gone most of Season 3). It wasn't until there was an episode where my goal was to bring as many of the main characters from 'Smallville' back as possible, and center it around a "Smallville High Reunion" that Supergirl could come into play organically and offer something to the story. Back in Season 2, I'm not really sure what episode she was supposed to be in. I'll take your word for it, and say it was for the two-parter. Those two episodes (titled 'War') had so many characters involved— there was the main cast of characters all appearing for the mid-season finale, then there was the 'Suicide Squad' (or at least a version of it) that had to appear and (a version of) the Justice League that had to appear, too. Already there are all these characters in two back-to-back episodes, and adding another character who wouldn't really service the plot -- it just didn't click and it wouldn't have made for a very great appearance because of how crammed the episodes already were. I'm assuming I quickly realised that and decided against Supergirl showing up. Now, the reason she hasn't appeared until now comes down to a few things— the most important being the fact that she doesn't really fit into the world of 'Watchtower.' But other than that, Chris was planning an arc for her on 'Trinity,' and knowing that I didn't really have much to offer her on 'Watchtower' other than a cameo, it felt best for her to be in his wheelhouse rather than mine. He didn't veto anything, because we didn't really run that way. It was more of an understanding that this character would be better suited to that show, and that character would be better suited to this show, etc. Just like how I absolutely adored Tess Mercer, and there were plans for her to be on Trinity, and I thought, "Yes, that makes so much more sense because she's Lex's sister, and she had a really great arc with Lana, and there's Checkmate and Amanda Waller." So Supergirl was off my mind after that point because of 'Trinity.' And flash-forward to now, there were a few different Supergirl pitches coming from you. And the logic here is that if I don't think I can offer more than a cameo for Supergirl, and someone is planning an entire series around her, then it's pointless to have that character be on my radar. It wasn't until I found a very specific way to bring her in for an episode that wouldn't ruin anyone's plans that I decided to go for it because I know full well it will be the first and the last time she shows up on 'Watchtower.' Also, I felt quite satisfied with her ending on 'Smallville.' So it was difficult to picture doing something to change that ending that would probably call for more story. For example, say she came back from the future with some urgent message or warning, it would open up the gates to more story that I felt wouldn't really fit with the show (whereas the whole 'time travel' aspect of Kara's journey was going to be incorporated into Trinity, making it a much better fit). And of course - the last thing is - I didn't like the idea of bringing Superman and Supergirl on the show and have to deal with, "if [enter villain here] is planning to do [enter villainous act here] then why can't they just call Superman and Supergirl for help and get it over and done with already?" That was a huge obstacle to try and overcome. So having Supergirl in the future, and sending Superman to [spoilers] and then taking away his powers was a way for me to overcome that obstacle and also - when it comes to Clark - allow an explanation towards why Clark and Lois still aren't married seven years after the 'Smallville' finale. I've just written an essay-length response, but I'm hoping that explains it. There's a lot of characters from 'Smallville' and a lot of characters from the comics that just wouldn't work in 'Watchtower,' no matter how much I like them. Back in Season 2, I was still in Smallville mode. Come Season 3, I was like "hey, this is Gotham, and my three main characters are Chloe Sullivan, Bruce Wayne and Helena Bertinelli." And it's crazy to me now that when it comes to the idea of "who should I bring back for an episode" my mind goes to 'Watchtower' before 'Smallville.' Anyway, sorry for the life-story. But I hope this made sense

maybe have chance what episode 4x16 will in its run of episodes? I like to have most of the episodes written before I air a run. I didn't set a date for episodes #10 through #15 until I was done with #15. I've only just started on #16 so it'll be a while but I'm planning to have the season conclude this year. So this next run wraps in May. Somewhere in August/September/October is probably when the rest of the season will air, beginning with 4x16

Exclusive: Kristen Bell Returns As 'Hope Sullivan!'
VSGuide has learned exclusively that Kristen Bell ('Veronica Mars') is set to reprise her role as Hope Sullivan from the future in an upcoming episode of 'Watchtower' Season 4. The actress last appeared in a Season 3 episode that saw Hope surface from the future to kill Hush, and feed her much-earned resentment towards mother, Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack). Now, disturbing events that have changed the future call for Hope to return and encourage Chloe to set things right in the seventeenth episode of the season, titled 'Destiny.' "[Episode 17] finally tells the story of Chloe's destiny, and puts the pieces of the puzzle together for the audience," series creator Jack Malone told VSGuide, "We can't tell that story without Hope, and so it felt right to bring Kristen [Bell] back."
While Hope continues to have a presence in the present day storyline as Chloe's toddler, Malone acknowledged the fun in seeing her all grown up. "I love the idea of Hope being this figure of the future that pops in when the world's turned to shit because it feels very in-tune with what Chloe would do in her situation, and it allows for a dynamic we don't get to have on the show between mother and daughter," Malone continued, before revealing that the Hope we see in this episode is not the one we saw in Season 3. "The version of Hope we saw in [Season 3] was from a future where Chloe never reunited with her daughter, so this version of Hope doesn't have that resentment towards Chloe, and that frees us up for a really interesting dynamic." The appearance doesn't come as a surprise to most who are aware that this episode will finally be answering the question of Chloe's destiny. The 'Watchtower' creator has said in the past that Chloe's destiny has already been answered "somewhere in Season 2" but they hadn't quite spelt it out for the audience... until now. "Chloe was supposed to die -- her death at the end of [the Season 2 finale] was where she was supposed to end up, and so whatever events transpired in the first two seasons of the show offered up the answer to her destiny," Malone revealed, excited to finally put it all together for the viewers, "[Episode 17] elaborates on it all and there are a lot of surprises, especially for those that feel they already know the answer to this series-long question." Kristen Bell joins another familiar face for the episode, with Tom Welling continuing his role from the previous episode as Clark Kent. "[Season 4] saw Clark put on the Gold Kryponite ring in an attempt to save the world from his powers being used for evil, and — because we know Clark has his powers in the seven year time-jump provided at the end of 'Smallville — [episode 17] explores a solution towards getting his powers back," the 'Watchtower' creator teased, before adding one last exciting tidbit: "But Chloe and Clark won't be the only characters on a path to securing or figuring out their destiny, and that's where some of these major twists and turns will come into play." Kristen Bell will appear in the seventeenth episode of the season, titled 'Destiny.' What do you think Chloe's destiny was? Are you excited to see another version of Hope from the future? Let us know your thoughts!

I'm writing 417 "DESTINY" and it's a really big episode for the series. One of the reasons it's such a huge episode is because this is finally going to be explained: You're going to learn if Chloe is his mother (!). You're also going to learn who his father is (!!). And you're going to learn his name (!!!). And he's going to be a character that sticks around well into the final season (!!!!). I've enjoyed playing around with the idea that the future we saw at the end of 'Smallville' could be changed. 'Purpose' (Season 2) was an exploration of that idea, kind of solidifying this notion that it was the future but that it had been altered. But that was something I had to do because Chloe was going to die at the end of Season 2, and I wanted it to have more of an impact (and I also didn't like the idea of an ending already being out there to take away the surprise of weekly episodes). But Season 4 is almost over, and so now I can tease some really cool things. The truth is — and this isn't really that much of a spoiler, so I don't mind putting it out there — Season 4 will end where the Smallville flash-forward did for Chloe (with some fresh [very spoilerish] material occurring after it, of course). But you will learn about the boy (in the picture above) in 417 and I'm super excited about it. I've always loved the idea that 'Watchtower' would chronicle the journey she went on prior to that flash-forward, and when she's reflecting over the years, the first four seasons of 'Watchtower' are included in moment of reflection. Also, I promise that's not as big a spoiler as it seems. I get to add to that scene - specifically what happens after Chloe's phone call with Lois about her wedding - and so the season won't LITERALLY end with that scene. And we already knew in regards to Zatanna's warning of the future that Chloe lives to see Season 5 (which feels like a miracle at this point). Anyway, I've almost finished writing 417 and I wanted to go off about how excited I am for it and so there you go -- some spoilers! Have at it

The Smallville flash-forward at the end of the finale is the future! I stupidly read that wrong.haha But yeah, Im totally excited to find out that little boy's father. The 50th episode and "Purpose" were such teases, but why do i have this sinking feeling that again, it isnt her's? I hope it is her's so Jason could be the father.hahahaha I dont want her back with Oliver. Like ever. Im officially over them being a couple. Having her go back to him, wont be good for her in the long run. I know I'm backtracking on my favorite couple of all time, but there is a really good reason and that reason exists in the episode you just released and it honestly stuck in my head that them getting back together is a pipe dream. One that Chloe, will have to move on from, for good if she really wants to have the happiness she wants. Jason and Chloe actually work as a couple and quite frankly I like it more than Chloe and Oliver My god. Im turning this into a rant. Im sorry. Im really excited about the update and I cant wait till we see what happens

Im really excited about the update and I cant wait till we see what happens Well, technically 'Smallville' never said that it was hers (on screen). And so that's part of the reveal -- is he Chloe's? Is Oliver the father? Could Jason be the father? Could it be different parents altogether? It was very satisfying to write. I really like the name I came up for him, and I'm excited about the story potential to keep him around in Season 5 I really enjoy writing all the dynamics that are on the show this season. It's been a lot of fun. I'm very committed to all the dynamics, too (whether they're platonic or romantic). The fun with Chloe and Oliver this season has been to see them function as a family. Their dynamic kind of reminds me of divorced parents that are co-parenting, and that's something that you'll start to see in these next few episodes now that Oliver is in Hope's life. But the interesting part of it all is that Chloe still has these feelings because she never got closure, it was like a bandaid removal in regards to how quickly things dissolved (Chloe died, and Oliver had his memories of her wiped). So seeing him is hard. Seeing him with her daughter is even harder because that's the life they pictured for each other that was taken from her. And being with Jason is part of this process for her to move on and open herself up to the idea of love again (something I wanted to do in Season 3 but couldn't find the right time for it). If you're a fan of that particular relationship, there's definitely a lot more coming up and I just finished writing some really great scenes for them. I'm glad that they have a fan out there because I was worried people wouldn't care about Chloe's love life outside of Oliver, and about this next chapter for her. So I appreciate that! As for Oliver, he's in this strange mindset where he's learned about some great love, someone he considered a "soulmate" and he can't remember it. Oliver has always wanted to be a father, and he's found out that he already is a father. And so that affects him in a really strange way. We see the knee-jerk reaction to it all at the end of this episode with him basically dismissing any type of relationship with Chloe, but again, this is the beginning of a new story and a new dynamic for them that you'll see unfold/develop in the next few episodes. And it's going to be nice to see Oliver as a father. So hopefully there's something for you to enjoy out of Chloe/Oliver this season! Thanks for allowing me to rant too, haha! I've just finished writing 417 and started work on 418. I have 5 episodes left to write oh my god

To top that off you killed her and I was worried that they wouldnt be able to say goodbye. But luckily, the story for S3 needed him absent a bit and it was nice seeing what the show was like without Oliver and to be honest, it was pretty fantastic. It showed Chloe in a whole new light and it showed a new layer to the dynamic that she had with him. Her honesty or lack thereof with Oliver is exactly what I wanted from her. She naturally wanted him at arms length because she knew it wasnt going to work. That showed how much she grew up without him in her life. She was willing to sacrifice her happiness in order to let Oliver have his life. However, I will say Dinah telling Oliver about his past with Chloe, shouldve been shelved until she saw Chloe and talked about it with her. I get that she was trying to make a point to Oliver to choose, but she knew their history and to me it felt like she was being spiteful. And I'm glad that you are almost done . Keep on trucking pal.

But luckily, the story for S3 needed him absent a bit and it was nice seeing what the show was like without Oliver and to be honest, it was pretty fantastic. It showed Chloe in a whole new light and it showed a new layer to the dynamic that she had with him. There was something interesting about taking Oliver away and see how Chloe adapts to a life without him, especially because we had two seasons of them as a couple. To be honest, I don't think Chloe and Oliver would have broken up without something wedging them apart and I felt there was a lot of story in seeing what would happen if they couldn't get back together, if Chloe was forced to move on with her life. And I think any show that kind of sits with the same dynamic for too long needs to shake things up -- for Watchtower that meant writing off the male lead for a season, and then bringing them back (with no memories of the main characters). I am really enjoying their scenes this season and what their dynamic is now. There's a lot more to come! That's not a perspective I was expecting, haha! For me — writing it — Dinah wasn't pushing Oliver to choose nor was she being petty. She had spent the first few episodes of the season trying to keep Oliver's knowledge of Chloe buried because she was scared of losing the man she loved. And her telling Oliver about Hope was more about the fact that she didn't want to get married into a lie and felt like Oliver deserved to know that part of his life. She never got into the specifics of Oliver and Chloe's personal relationship, but just that he has a child out there with her. It felt like progress for her - she had evolved from where we found her at the beginning of the season where she was putting her own feelings in front of Oliver's. So that's how I view it but of course anything is open to interpretation and your perspective is just as valid on what's been going down! The idea for Dinah and Oliver this season is to kind of explore this idea of a ring and potential marriage binding them into the life they have right now, but that life is constantly changing and being forced to adapt to new things that forces them to ask whether or not they're happy with that life, and if it changes them. They had this life set up for themselves in Star City, and then Oliver learned about Chloe and that forced them to reevaluate things (Dinah gave back the ring). Oliver learned most of the truth, but was still happy and in love with Dinah, and proposed again, but Dinah knew he wasn't told about Hope and so she couldn't accept until he did (Dinah turned down the ring). And then of course, we have this trilogy of proposals with Oliver finally knowing everything and still wanting to marry her and she said yes (accepting their lives as it is). Now, you'll get to see them function as a family, and it links into Oliver and Chloe kind of portraying those divorced spouses who are co-parenting a child. And there's going to be one more bombshell that they'll have to overcome together that drops in 417 (so stay tuned for that). As for Chloe, I feel like there's a part of her that would take Oliver back in a heartbeat if he made such a proposal, but there's another part of her who so desperately wants to move on and accept things for how they are, and that's why she does have a new relationship this season, and we're not getting twenty-two episodes of her pining for Oliver or being mad about Dinah. She's trying to live her life, too. But there is so much history there between her and Oliver, and seeing him is very difficult for her, especially when its her seeing him with Hope (which I think happens in the next episode or the one after). Thanks, buddy. It's crazy that I've got 5 more episodes to write for the season. And then it's the final season... dun, dun, dun.

Exclusive: Perry White (Kind Of) Returns to 'Watchtower!'
It's almost been a full season since fans last saw Perry White (Michael McKean) but VSGuide can confirm that the character makes two exciting appearances in 'Watchtower' Season 4. Now, that's the good news. The bad news is that it won't be any new footage. Producers revealed that footage from Season 1 would be included in the upcoming seventeenth episode of the season, titled 'Destiny,' while footage from Season 3 would be included in the following episode, titled 'Ceremony.'
"Perry has been such a pivotal character on the show, and we're excited to announce that his specific purpose for crossing paths with Chloe Sullivan will finally be revealed in [episode 17]," series creator, Jack Malone told VSGuide, "I think we've told a complete story with the character, and feel very satisfied with where and how it ended, but he will always remain important to the show and to the story, which audiences will come to understand in these two episodes of [Season 4]."
Towards the end of Season 3, Perry's story came to an end with Doctor Fate giving him a choice: to leave Gotham behind in a step towards securing his future as the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Planet — with the unfortunate knowledge that he can never see Chloe Sullivan again — or to die a hero in the fight against Hush to save Chloe Sullivan and Gotham City. Ultimately, he put his faith in Chloe to save Gotham and chose to fulfil his destiny at the Daily Planet. So news that McKean wouldn't be reprising the role shouldn't come as too much as a shock, however the 'Watchtower' creator did reveal an original plan to keep his presence on the remaining two seasons of the show.
"The initial plan for [Season 4] was to have Pauline Kahn fill those shoes for the remaining two seasons of 'Watchtower,' and her romantic attachment to Perry would have kept his presence alive in his absence, but sadly those plans had to change," Malone revealed, telling VSGuide that Kahn would have made a surprise return as the Editor-in-Chief of the Gotham Gazette towards the latter half of Season 4, "She was genuinely one of my favourite characters to write and made [Season 3] so much better, but at the end of the day, I feel satisfied that both their journeys reached a satisfying conclusion, even if Kahn's wasn't necessarily planned to be the end."
The question remains: what scenes from Perry's past will find a place in these two upcoming episodes of Season 4? Let us know your thoughts!

The lord giveth and he taketh away too 😭😭😭 I promise it's satisfying nonetheless. I feel like Season 3 ended with telling the story of how Perry White wound up at the Daily Planet, but with 'destiny' being a huge focus of the series, it wasn't ever really explained why part of his journey involved Chloe Sullivan and 'Watchtower.' Episode 17, appropriately titled 'Destiny,' finally explains it (and while I've had a lot planned out for these five seasons, it was kind of sheer luck that I found a scene from Season 1 that perfectly does the trick). And then the following episode, titled 'Ceremony,' will include a scene from Perry's final episode of Season 3. *starts crying* Everything feels like it's ending!

I really hope Jason and Chloe become endgame at this point. I dont want her pining after Oliver. Also side note, is it wrong, i was hoping that her future husband wasnt Oliver?
