Pretty much, just post your favorite characters. Any series, any reason will do.
My favorites are:
Castiel - Supernatural
The first bit of Christian mythology we get turns out to be one of the best things the series has to offer: Castiel. An Angel of the Lord.
His development is pretty damn good. He starts out loyal to Heaven, but as season 4 goes along, he begins to have doubts about his superiors. In the end, he rebels to stop the Apocalypse which fails. He then joins the boys on the run from both Heaven and Hell. Slowly over the season he becomes more and more human and weak, before becoming fully human. Then he gets blown up by Lucifer. One of the most freaky moments in the series. God resurects him, fully Angel again. He returns to Heaven. Will we ever see him again? I hope so.
Gaius Balter - Battlestar Galactica
It will take too long to go over his development, but let me tell you he is one-of-a-kind character. He pretty much lets the Cylons destroy humanity, and helps them several times without even knowing it before joining them for a short while, yet he is one of the most loved characters. Seriously. You can't help but feel sorry for him.
Walter Skinner - X-Files
The head of the FBI. I haven't seen all of the X-Files, yet this guy already rocks more than any other character. He is in a very delicate position, believing that the government is involved in something yet having the Cigarette Smoking Man watching him. This guy is awesome. That is all.

My favorite characters are:
Bonnie Bennett - The Vampire Diaries
Bonnie is just...bad ass! Especially in the season finale. I love how much her character has developed since her grandmother died and how much more interesting her storyline has gotten.
Castiel - Supernatural
Yes, Castiel. Supernatural was always amazing to me, but things got so much better when they introduced the angels, god and Lucifer. As a fan of the show since the beginning, I believe he has been the best character on the show in, well ever. His development has been amazing and it will be interesting to see where his character goes in season five. If he is still on the show.

Chloe Sullivan - Smallville
What can I say about Chloe...This woman isn't even a part of the DC Comic universe and she has become more INTERESTING than Clark Kent himself. She is truly amazing. Such a strong, independent, beauty shouldn't be limited to a sidekick-ish role. She needs her own series.

Hands down for me is Paige Matthews from Charmed.
Her character is just immense.

One of mine....gotta be Dr. Gregory House. Dude's smart, abrasive, a pain in the ass to deal with...and yet, one of the most complex and layered characters that has been seen on TV for a while. Same with Dexter Morgan. Normally, we would hate a guy who's a cold blooded killer. However, he only kills the bad guys. So, right there you have a conflict.

Currently, my favorite character is Kahlan Amnell from Legend of the Seeker. But I have PLENTY more.

Nikita would have to be at my favourites list at the moment. She's a strong female figure that is determined to take down one of the biggest government organizations in the world. The fact that she isn't "broken" from her past, and still fights on makes her even more praisable. I'd even go as far as saying she's one of the strongest women on Television, ever.

Marita Covarrubias from The X-Files. Don't really know how to explain why I like her so much. I just love that she has this clouded and mysterious voice all the time and how she constantly jumps between sides. I tend to like those "jumpy" characters.

I have to say my favorite character on television right now...I have a few, I guess. XD
Callie Torres - Grey's Anatomy. She was a whiny bitch at first, but she definitely, definitely grew on me.
Thirteen - House. One, I love anyone that Olivia Wilde plays. But I like her because of her attitude, and her facial expressions...the kill me XD Plus, I really love the story behind her.
And, it's not on TV anymore but I got into it a little late in the game, anyways.
Alex Kelly - The O.C., another Olivia Wilde character. She was a bad ass, but still had a heart that got broken in the end. She was such a smart ass, too, I loved it.

I see Castiel is popular and he is certainly one of my favorites too! I love all the boys from Supernatural. Dean, Sammy, and Cass are all amazing characters to me. Recently Sam has been a little off for me which is sad because he used to be my favorite, but they will all hold a special place in my heart.
Another favorite of mine is Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. I am geeky myself so I absolutely adore this show and being from Texas the jokes he makes about his home town always crack me up even though he hates Texas.
Gregory House is another who will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine. He is just so delightfully bad. I also like others such as Reid from Criminal Minds.Pretty much everyone of criminal minds. The entire crew of FireFly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer...THERE ARE TOO MANY TO NAME THEM ALL!! AH *head explodes*
