Although, as spoiled, two characters from the sixth, and final season of Angel will move on into Faith the Vampire Slayer by its third season. SO that's another bonus. As for Angel, well, the series finale will tell you why there won't be another season; and why he won't be crossing over into another show.

Wow. Episode 5 was ridiculously good. First of all, Drucilla is one of my favorte characters in Jossverse so I'm glad you brought her in. I was nervous about how she's be portrayed by you did a superb job with her. Also, I loved the scene with Ilyria and Wesley, her trying to to fight human feelings. Then he disappears. Is he really gone? I hope not.
There was only one thing that bothered me and that was when Angel said "It disgusts me." I dunno, it sounded weird and like something Angel wouldn't say. That was it though. Love loved loved the ending with Dru. They're here! Overall, the episode was written really well. I can't wait for next week.

Angel 6x01 - Casualties Of War
Well OK. My very first review.
It has some really good parts, mainly with Spike. The first bit was excellent, the whole showing the chaos in L.A. The bits with Connor were pretty cool, but killing Eve...I don't know. Doesn't really affect me. Kate is back so extra points there. That end scene was just perfect though. It felt very much like the pilot one, only showing us how far Angel has come. Plus a mention of Doyle!
There were some bad parts as well. Like, not much really happened. It felt more filler than anything. Just gave us a bunch of answers, set up a bunch of stuff and thats it. The whole scene with Angel and Lilah just felt...anticlimatic. We were getting ready for a massive fight, then the demons just stop. The answers seem to come far to easily. Also, Wesley wanted Angel dead so bad, he'd do it in the middle of an apocalypse and for fun?! There must be more going on there. I understand what you were doing for the Hyperion being inhabited already, but it didn't work.
Overall, its a good episode. Better than some season openers, but it has its setbacks as well. Anticlimatic in places, but it was good. I give this a 7/10 Flawed in places but the characers and/or plot bring it up.

Thanks for the review!! Always happy to get them from people! The world was ending, so with it already being taken over was just another complication of the many that was going on. The Lilah shock appealed to most -- I wouldn't exactly call it anticlimactic, I'd say it was unexpected. I bet you were expecting a massive fight for Angel and co to do. If you know Wolfram & Hart, they are quite the manipulators, and as this first arc plays over the four episodes, you'll see why so much needed to be said. Wesley was angry. He lost Fred. Then he was killed. And now he's forced to live, but not solid. So he's really angry, and he wants to lash out the blame on someone -- Angel. So it wasn't for fun. I would usually agree in the "too much being said" if it wasn't a vital part for the opening episode of the final season, and it plays over the first four episodes. So thanks for reviewing. ;D

Thanks for the reply. I will continue reading, so I will see how everything goes. I may be wrong about the Lilah thing, but at the moment, it just doesn't work for me.
I can see what you mean about Wesley being angry, and if these were any other circemstances I wouldn't be surprised at this, but its chaos outside and I doubt even Wesley would go this far to get revenge. As I said, I'll continue reading. It was a good episode and I did enjoy it. I should have another review up either tonight or tomorrow.

Angel 6x02 - Blackout
Ok, time for the dreaded second episode. Alot of the time the second episode for a season is bad (See Supernatural episode 2), but this one was pretty good.
A pretty cool opening, love the Angel and Spike dialogue. Although I thought they had stopped their continuous fights in the later half of season 5? Wesley and Illyria's dynamic is pretty interesting. I can understand this Wesley, unlike last episode. He seems to be acting in a much more like....a broken Wesley.
Kate was annoying, I took Connors side here. Although him throwing that blade at the cop seemed like he backtracted 2 seasons. Angel doing his thing in the bar, then at Victor was awesome. I'm not sure about when Angel and Kate meet up in Hyperion. Just doesn't feel natural. I could be wrong, but wasn't the last time they saw each other in season 2? So she goes there and just starts apologising? Doesn't work for me, sorry.
The monster appearing as Angel disappears was cool, but the demon just felt really cliche. His dialogue just sucked. So he knew Connor was the Destroyer? Angels whole plan seemed totally useless. Angel at least learned that it was a mistake and it may have helped the tear between him and Wesley.
Angel has visions now. Interesting vision. The thing with Cordelia seemed a little too soon, but it at least seemed to get things back on track.
Quick question: How did Spike know Kate? He ran over to her in the Hyperion and said her name. I don't remember him ever meeting her.
Overall, A pretty cool episode. Clunky in places, it takes half the episode for the demon to appear, then he just dies a little while after that. Some good dialogue, some bad dialogue. Again, not much really happens. Some great scenes, especially with Angel and Spike. Overall, I give this a 5/10. Needs work. Has some good stuff, but a bad plot or characterisation.
Note: I'm still working on a review format so the first few may be a little clunky.

Note: I'm still working on a review format so the first few may be a little clunky. Thanks for the review. I'm glad you semi enjoyed it. A lot of it is based on your opinion, so I'm not too about the things you didn't like. So let me review your review hahaha. A pretty cool opening, love the Angel and Spike dialogue. Although I thought they had stopped their continuous fights in the later half of season 5? Yes, they stopped squabbling a bit, but that doesn't mean they're best friends. Besides, the apocalypse was on its way and they had to be prepared for it, they had to think about the world and all of that stuff, so in this episode (really hard to remember writing it last year) has them, I believe, having a verbal disagreement. Its all good. Wesley and Illyria's dynamic is pretty interesting. I can understand this Wesley, unlike last episode. He seems to be acting in a much more like....a broken Wesley.Thank you. I rather enjoyed playing on the Wesley/Illyria story, its rather enjoyable, and really adds to their characters and how they are at this moment in their life. Wesley is pretty torn up, understandably, which too, I admit, is fun writing. Kate was annoying, I took Connors side here. Although him throwing that blade at the cop seemed like he backtracted 2 seasons. Angel doing his thing in the bar, then at Victor was awesome.Kate was written in this episode to sort of show how much she doesn't fit in with their world anymore. She's been gone for years, and shows up, and everything is different. The characters had developed, where she has offscreensville. But, I enjoy her. I think that she adds to the story rather well, and here being back really adds to the season -- and its epic story that is being told. Connor backtracking, not really. However, if you remember, there's three different Connor's living inside him now. All meshed together. The Dark side. The Family Guy. And the Connor that is beginning to unravel now -- his true self. So backtracking isn't the word. Its more about him tapping into lost emotions of anger, and all of that. I'm not sure about when Angel and Kate meet up in Hyperion. Just doesn't feel natural. I could be wrong, but wasn't the last time they saw each other in season 2? So she goes there and just starts apologising? Doesn't work for me, sorry. This was a necessary scene that HAD to be added. It couldn't be them working together, with nothing said, continuing on as if they had kept in touch for years. Its rather awkward, and on some level, Angel is surprised to see her here. So I wouldn't say it "wasn't natural" however that is your opinion, which I like reading, it was more of a necessity to their development. Kate will play a vital part in this season, the final season, and will soon move on to Faith the Vampire Slayer during season 3. The monster appearing as Angel disappears was cool, but the demon just felt really cliche. His dialogue just sucked. So he knew Connor was the Destroyer? Angels whole plan seemed totally useless. Angel at least learned that it was a mistake and it may have helped the tear between him and Wesley.Ah, yes. The transmogrification. Fun. Hahaha. Again, I can't really talk about the dialogue as I barely remember this episode at all hahaha, but I wouldn't call him a cliche. He was a bad ass demon if you'd ask me. The guy had a mace or whatnot! hahaha. Angel has a hero complex, we all know that. If he thinks there's a way to save his friends, the world, he'll jump to do it. Much like here. And therefor, he made a mistake, and his friends ended up saving him. But this 'useless' plan was in fact a huge reveal that they were in some transit demonic hell dimension. Sort of half LA half Hell (Hell-A). And it was only a matter of breaking through that and saving the city. More on the other episodes. So useless, hardly. Angel has visions now. Interesting vision. The thing with Cordelia seemed a little too soon, but it at least seemed to get things back on track.Angel's had visions since season 5, the 100th episode, "You're Welcome". Cordelia passed them onto him. I don't understand what you mean with 'a little too soon' because Angel's in hell. The world is falling apart. If I dragged it on long, only for them to get out of hell -- you'd be saying that it doesn't really mean anything. It was unecessary. Took too long. So Cordelia arrived just on time for this next three episodes (I believe) to play out just right. Quick question: How did Spike know Kate? He ran over to her in the Hyperion and said her name. I don't remember him ever meeting her.Pretty sure I remember her coming up in convo. If not, just assume it happened in offscreensville -- shouldn't cause so much controversy really. It'd be lame dialogue if he said "Whose this dying on our carpet?" haha. Overall, A pretty cool episode. Clunky in places, it takes half the episode for the demon to appear, then he just dies a little while after that. Some good dialogue, some bad dialogue. Again, not much really happens. Some great scenes, especially with Angel and Spike. In the end, the characters learned something big, the plot unfolded more for the audience, and really, the story that started in the premiere was taken to the next level, so in perspective, a lot happens in "Blackout". I must admit, this was early on when I'd still only just gotten into the script world and virtual series world, much like with Faith season one (saying its not my best writing) -- but still enjoyable. Thank you for reviewing, hope I answered some questions, and helped you understand more of what was really going on in the episode.

I'm working on trying to get my reviews less personal and more objective, so the first few may be a little clunky.
What I mean is Angel gets right back on track pretty quickly. It would have been interesting seeing how far he would go to save L.A. without the Powers That Be, him growing up and learning that there isn't gonna be someone holding his hand and helping him along the way. I'll see how it goes though.
I understand this. My only issue is that it is that it kinda comes out of nowhere. It took me having you explain it. It is interesting character development though, I must admit.
I guess I used the wrong words. What I meant is that, it seemed odd that Kate would walk in, have a brief conversation and then apologise. It was necessary, so I can forgive this.
I agree with alot of what you said, and it is more of a character episode than anything. It did feel odd at times, and although that mace was AWESOME, the villian just seemed cliche.
I will adjust a few scores when I reach the end of the season, since the episodes seem to work better after seeing how the season progresses. I am enjoying this, and will definetly continue to the finale.

^ ^ Thank you! I really do enjoy personal opinions, I just like the overal rating grade marked objectively like you said. So please feel free to voice your opinion on stuff, like with the cliche'd demon and stuff, because opinions are grand. I love hearing thoughts and ideas on how to better improve myself, and really am glad you've started reviewing this first ;D

Angel 6x03 - Freaks Like Me
This episode, Gwen returned, or at least a VERY angry version did. Got involved in a Mob, that just happened to have an army and thats when the episode really started.
The episode begins where the last one ended. Angel gathers the team and sets off to save Gwen while she double-crossed by some Mob guys and gets her ass kicked by one hell of a Demon. Even the Fang Gang has trouble taking it down. The biggest problem is the fight goes on way too long. It was a tough demon, but the point was way too exagerated.
A whole bunch of setting up happens, which is funny in parts (Spike and Illyria, of course), Angel and Kate have the same argument as in the Hyperion, then have a fight with the Mob guys.
The episode really gets good when they finally find the demon army. Wesley gets possessed. L.A. becomes more of a Hell Hole than it was before and the group gets buried in debris. All Awesome. Kate and Connor watch as L.A. is destroyed before the Hyperion is.
Then comes the end. I'll see how this works out, but its feeling very Deus Ex Machina right now. TPTB stepping in at the last minute and telling Angel now how to save L.A. I will see how it plays out, but this could easily fail.
Most of the good stuff happened at the end of the episode this time. It felt truly like this is the beginning of the end. Everything else was just a long set up. A few good parts in it, like anything involving Spike and Illyria. The final scene could easily play out as a Deus Ex Machina. And the flashback of Gwen was just dull.
Overall, it was a step up from the last episode. It was slow for most of the episode but the end was when the shit hit the roof and really upped the quality. I give this a 7/10 Flawed in places but the characers and/or plot bring it up.

Angel - Live By The Sword
This is the episode to rap up the "L.A. in Hell" arc. Does it succeed with flying colours? Or does it fail to impress? Its a mixture.
It starts off where the last episode left. The team is in ruin, L.A. is getting worse and this really is the end for the city. Connor ends up dead, with a pretty weak death scene, as does everyone else, but I forgive the weakness of these scenes since they are all reserected at the end. I love the Ancient Being that possessed Wesley, all I hope is you focus on him a bit more. The whole destruction of L.A. works very well and really gives us an idea of how bad it really is.
Then comes Angel, where The Powers That Be Agent gives Angel a mission to retrieve a sword, which just feels like, and is, a Deus Ex Machina. We have been told TPTB are the big power in the universe, controlling destiny yet they need a sword to save L.A.? I'm not convinced.
The whole Japanese section is bland. The Gatekeeper and Hakuta Matatu were not very memorable or interesting. Then came the ninjas. For some reason, I just can't take ninjas seriiously no matter where it is or in what context. But I'm confused how beating 20 ninjas earns you trust.
Cordelia sneaks off and steals the sword, Angel kicks Hakutas ass. He gives the sword to TPTB. They restore L.A. but everything is already destroyed. Lilah shows up (Yay), Angel goes on a long speech about how he figured everything out, which works well. He then kills himself so the Senior Partners reverse time to the night of the fall of the Circle.
Everyone re-connects which is good, yet it would have been interesting and more realistic is alot of they're issues continued. But it still puts a full stop for the end of this arc. Angel is once again taken to talk to the TPTB Agent and Cordelia is brought back from the dead. Now I'll see how this arc pans out, but I'm not big on it at the moment. I felt like her story came to a satisfying conclusion in You're Welcome.
This time around, the episode felt split between the good and the bad. The good was the L.A. side, while Angels side was too bland. I won't use the Ninja scene in my overall, since I am too bias towards them.
Overall, I give this a 6/10 Bad stuff mixed in with the good. Little bit more good than bad though.

Thanks for reviewing, but the only thing I wanted to talk about from the review is this 'Deus ex Machina' thing that you've been talking about. Over the Four episode arc, the team have been trying to work the problem, and trying to understand. From Wesley's laps into this world and another, to when Angel was banished out of Hell, and wanted to find a way to bring them out. If it was Deus ex Machine, suddenly solving the problem, it would have been three episodes of random hell-ish stuff, with no hopes of the characters attempting to break out, then around episode four they get out of it.
So that's the only thing I have to say based on that statement.
The Powers that Be merely stepped in to try and save him, but ultimately it was something he had to understand in terms of saving himself, and everyone else. And when he realized he was important to the Senior Partners, especially with Lilah showing up to make him that deal, he knew that if he died, they'd have to set things straight to keep him alive.
The Hell story is not over, in fact its arc will play a huge part mid-season, if I ever get it done haha. Thanks for reviewing, but I just wanted to clarify that it was not a Deus Ex Machina plot device that I pulled -- there's more to this Hell-story, but for now, its come to a solid stop.
