So i finally got around to reading 1x05 "The Kids Aren't Alright". I have to admit that this wasn't my favorite episode, i found myself getting slightly bored reading at first but it definitely picked up by act 3. I think this was just because i didn't understand the reason for Blake making a petition, wasn't Darren already get back into Winchester? So why was there a need for Blake to even start a petition to get him to stay? Its not as if he knew about the petition Eve started. Maybe i missed something? But during the first two acts i felt the whole petition thing beginning to drag out, i feel like it could f been done in the background more like you did in the last two acts. When it starting getting more into it, it began to get really enjoyable especially when Maya came into the picture with her plan. I could see a nasty side to Maya earlier on in the series when she warned Lucy to stay away from Shane but in this episode she took it to a whole new level. And now that Shane and Lucy know, i am really interested to see whats going to happen there. Blake and Tracy seem to be perfect, but i'd like to see some drama between the two of them, you could sense some tension in this episode between the two when Tracy found out that Blake was starting a petition, but it didn't last very long, so i would like to see some struggles in their relationships in future episodes. Charlie? what can i say, who doesn't love Charlie and i was really happy for him in this episode. Now the Darren story line was interesting, really interesting infact, i'm still on the fence on whether or not he did kill Anna's sister but with what happened at the end, it makes me think he really did do considering the extreme actions he's taking towards Pete. Pete is an ASS! but i like how he warned Blake to look after Lucy. Now the cliff hanger, what a cliffhanger. I am so excited to for the next episode, they way you left the audience wondering it Lucy will make it and how it came about that Eve got shot was pretty awesome. He shot two girls by accident, i wonder what the consequences are? A part from the slow start this episode was pretty awesome with a great cliffhanger. I'll give it a 7/10.

Thanks Jay for the review.. To be completely honest this wasn't my favorite episode to write. It was a little slow paced, and as you said the best part is the last ACT and a half. MAYA - is definitely becoming more antagonistic. Her actions are going to lead to a big moment that I hope fans really love in the next episode. PETE - LOL. I almost love that no matter how hard I try people still hate him, It wouldn't make much sense to just have him know what the right thing to do is. And I think in his mind he was trying to do what's right and "ironically" trying to make up what he did to Lucy, by trying to protect her. BLAKE and TRACY - I know everyone's been pushing for lot's of drama for the couple, and don't worry it's gonna hit them hard soon. I just wanted them to a have a little time to be "happy" and supportive before everything comes crashing down around the two. LUCY and EVE - I'm glad you loved the twist at the end for these two's it was one of the first thing's we had planned was that scene. It will definitely follow them through the rest of the season. CHARLIE - I was really happy for Charlie in this episode as well, he's someone who constantly sacrifices everything for the people around him. So I was glad to see him get some happiness in this episode, though it won't last long considering what's in-store for him with the shooting .

So Chris has been really busy with his new job and hasn't had much time to go over the edits of the summer finale, which has been been completed for awhile. I've decided to release the unedited version this Thursday, hopefully my Grammer has gotten better than it used to be what we will do though is once things settle down for both Chris and myself we can go over the the episode and if there are any mistakes well fix them up in time for the Season 1 VDVD set. so the mid season finale will air Thursday August 30th around midnight eastern time (since I only finish work that night around 11) so technically it will air the 31st for some of us unless you live in an early time zone. The show will then return early November and we will wrap season one late December early Januany get ready, college it's never been so complicated.

So I've just read 1x06 "Charlies Way" and i gotta say wow, what an episode, definitely my favorite so far. I want to give it a 10/10 but i reminded me a lot of the one tree hill episode where Jimmy brings the gun to school and it was very similar in some ways. However you put your own spin on things and of course there was a different back story as to why Darren brought the gun into Winchester, so for that i'm giving this episode an 9/10. On to the review.. As i said before, wow. This episode had me at the edge of my seat the whole way through. I really enjoyed the elevator scenes with Lucy and Shane, because of course we know that Lucy likes Shane so it was whether or not she was finally going to tell him. And she did. I'm so glad she did too because now we know that shane feels the same way?!?! i never thought he did as well, but i'm so happy he does, hopefully he gets rid of Maya sooner than later, she's a nasty piece of work! Although i was a bit confused as to why Shane and Lucy felt guilty didn't they both find out that Maya put Pete and his friends up to attacking Darren? but then again they probably forgave her? considering Darren was the bad guy. But if you think about it, If it wasn't for Maya the whole shooting wouldn't of happened. OOOOOOH! i just clicked! i hope to see this come out the bag soon.
onto Charlie! i'm so happy he got to play the hero and win over the girls affection even more. Although i wanted Charlie and a Lucy to eventually get together, and i still have my fingers crossed they soon in the future, i enjoy him being with Cate and would like to see more of their relationship in future episodes. I can see them being a funny couple to watch.
I never really liked Eve and even though she wasn't even conscious during most of the episode, i really liked her, mainly for the voice over, it was a really nice quote, i'd like to see you use more of them in future episode. As for Anna, i'm still shocked she's even alive after that episode, i kept panicking that he was going to shoot her after some of the things she was saying to him, i'm quite surprised he didn't snap.
Blake & Pete, what a duo, definitely frenemies. It seems like no matter how much they hate each other they always come together to do the right thing, and i'm starting to think most of the time their doing it for Tracy. I like the Blake, Tracy and Pete triangle, i think pete should be involved a bit more in it though, i feel he should fight for Tracy causing tension between them all. I noticed at the end of the episode when he was all alone with know one by his side, he watched Blake and Tracy together i feel like he does miss her, and no matter how much of an ass he is, he does have real emotions and still likes her. I feel like Tracy needs to step up as a character, as being the girlfriend of the main character i feel sometimes shes just there for no reason, i'd like to see her more involved with a bigger story line (i think I've said this before, sorry if i'm repeating myself).
Now the ending i really liked, i thought from the beginning you were going to kill of one of your main cast, so i was shocked that you didnt and ended the episode on a lighter note with Eve moving her fingers, Which was a brilliant scene by the way. I'm glad the episode ended like that because i feel the kids have been through alot and Winchester, more good than bad, so it would be ashame to put them through the loss of a friend. The brief brother and sister moment between Tracy and Charlie was awesome! I really cant wait til the second half of the season, you really have a great show on your hands and i hope it last a good few seasons.

Well you can get a much better description in the "Show Summary" thread which can be found on the shows main page, but generally it's a coming of age drama about a group of college kids who attend North Winchester University located in California.
Also Jay I plan to respond to your review soon. Promise.

So Jay, sorry for the long wait but I've finally managed to sit down and respond to your review. So let's begin. Bingo! And that's going to what drives most of Maya's story during our second half, leading right into the finale. I'm glad your starting to warm up to Eve, and as for doing more voiceovers I'm not too sure as I always worry about my ability to write ones that work but if we do it would be told by different characters as they face whatever stories come there way. I agree I think they make an amazing team despite there difference's and they will have a lot more stories in the second half of our season. Well I'm not so sure about him fighting for Tracy but I can tell you the triangle isn't near over. Tracy sort of moved on a long time ago. and now it's time for Pete to accept the consequences of his actions. I guess now that the plan is no longer in place we could tell you we had originally planned for Pete to move on with Lucy.. But that felt way to Naley for the show and eventually we decided to drop that story. Basically our concept with Pete was that he always felt alone and was why tried to push so many people away, but if and when he does start to become a "better" person would be because of the people around him people he's stuck with like it or not. All though you may now know the plans, I wouldn't place any bets on Eve's chances until the show comes back. And well the group may of gotten lucky this time, I wouldn't count on that luck holding out much longer and yes writing that little nod to Tracy and Charlie was so much fun, I felt it may of been too soon but they were facing a near death experience of sorts so I'm glad you liked it.

Well you are correct, There weren't really any witnesses or at least no one within ear shot or sight to disprove the mothers claim that Blake could of either pushed or persuaded Warren to jump, plus if you keep reading the series there becomes evidence that Blake could of benefited if Warren wasn't in the picture the case will come to head though in the newly titled eleventh episode "In a Dark House"

So I've already read 1x07: Time of Need. but that was quite some time ago. So, i'm going to re-read it and give you a review as i go along. Here we go, So, the opening was nice. It kind of lightened the mood considering how the last episode left off. Introducing the Beach House was surprising, but in a good way. Its a nice change to have the 3 best friends live together now rather than living in the dorm rooms.
Matthew, YOUR KILLING ME here. I just loved the chat between Charlie and Lucy in her room. Their friendship is just adorable, and its so frustrating because I really do want them to be more than friends. The line where Lucy tells Charlie that the only thing that matter to her when she woke up from being shot was him, safe outside the college was pretty darn sweet. But, i am in no rush because as for now I am enjoying the Shane/Lucy thing.
Introducing new character is always interesting, I don't really have an opinion on the new dean yet. Her son Jake however, i'm really looking forward to learning more about him. Will he be a friend or foe? hmmm we'll soon find out. As for the new character Lexie, now MEOW! we have a cat fight on our hands when it comes to her and Tracy. She's a bitch but I do like a bitch now and again.
I LOVED the fact that Charlie punched Pete! Again it show's his and Lucy's friendship, that he stood up for her. But it also showed his bravery, the Charlie from episode 1 would have never had the balls to do that. You can see that he's grown up since the shooting, and meeting Cate and all which is pretty neat to read his development as a character.
Lexie and Blake are friends? now this is starting to get interesting. I feel so bad for Blake, being stuck between his friend and girlfriend fighting. But damn its so good to read, and i got to commend you on the part where Tracy walks in and say's "Its Tracy". GENIUS!
The Lexie/Blake/Tracy thing you have going on is great i love that they don't get along i think it will cause a lot of funny drama and! Tracy talking to Eve was really nice, it shows how Tracy misses her friend and also how she needs to step up into Eve's shoes.
Maya and Pete in the science lab where the shooting happened is my favorite scene so far. We see the two who caused all of this dealing with what they have done. Pete, who genially feels bad is seeking forgiveness for what he's done, apologizing and all. Then we Have Maya, who only really seems worried about herself, and trying to make Pete look like the monster. I can really see an evil side to Maya, she becomes more and more darker each episode, i'm actually quite scared as to how far she will go. She's a very interested character to read.
This lead onto Pete, standing at the bluffs ready to jump. This scene was truly heart breaking. Even though i'm not Pete's biggest fan and i find him a bit of an ass, you really made me feel sorry for him in this episode. We see how badly he is affected by his actions and how he feels terrible for it. And i dont think the fact that Blake went with Tracy to help, actually helped considering their rivalry. But i'm so happy he didn't jump in the end. After this episode I really enjoy Pete's character. Also Medicine is the most perfect song choice for this scene, it was so effective.
The after math of Pete, it was nice to see Tracy there for him after their rough post relationship, relationship. And that Blake was happy enough to watch over Pete in this hard time, was nice.
The Shrink you had throughout this episode was so well done. It let us see different side of the story, different reactions. It was pretty cool to read and how it cut back and forth so kudos on that. Having Darrin in the episode 'haunting' Charlie if you will, was kinda creepy at first but i feel like we needed that to help charlie get through everything.
& Lastly I enjoyed that we got to see that friendship between Lucy and Blake aswell. Tracy and Blake are such a suited couple they are both there for their friends in 'TIMES OF NEED', I actually get the title now xD. That's pretty cool.
So that my Review, as for the rating, I feel this was flawless. I think it's my favorite episode yet! I say that every episode though! 10/10 I'm in love with this show, and now that i get to be a part of gives me such great pleasure.

Want to know something funny, Jay. I didn't really get that until you pointed it out. LMAO. The title was meant to be in general " TIMES OF NEED" for all the characters but your right, it really defined Tracy and Blake's ending to the episode. Both Blake's relationship with Lucy and Tracy's with Pete will play an important part to the build up towards the finale. As you mentioned Pete genuinely seems to feel guilty for what happenend and desperately wants to change and even as were going to discover he wants to be punished for his role, which will drive him closer to the group and not just Tracy. It won't just be an okay we forgive you from everyone, Pete will "earn" his forgiveness as the season progresses and has his first "genuine" hero moment in the tenth episode. And btw's Lexie and Blake are ex's not just friends. Which is one of the reason's Tracy dislikes Lexie. Let's just say I've also taken all of your love for Lucy and Charlie into account Writing the shrink scene's was fun and even a little easy my inspiration for those scenes sort of came from the last episode of Star Trek: Enterprise where Riker (Jonathan Frakes) goes around and sort of interviews all the characters to get there opinions and see how they felt when all of what happened. Happened. Thank's for your review Jay I always love to hear your feedback
