Is there any connection to the Winchesters from Supernatural?

No, Winchester is just the name chosen for the university featured in this show no connection what so ever

Sadly no. But the show has been going through some construtive changes and requires the whole premise of the first season to change slightly. And expect a large cast change.

A Short Note from Matthew James: So, here's the thing. I know the show was supposed to start airing awhile ago, and well the first two episodes have been completed, I really want to finish the third episode before I post them all three in a row. I have been really swamped I work full time in the day and am about to begin full time night school, not to mention that I will be moving out of my parents house and into my own apartment (Woot, for independence and freedom!) so I plan on finishing episode three as soon as possible and would like to start airing , September 15th! So here are a few spoilers: Producers are plannning an "alternate universe" episode for the second half of the season. Before the first half of the season is over two characters will discover they are related in an unexpected way. The season finale has been titled "One wedding and a Funeral" Aj Cook will play Blake's defence lawyer in at least three episodes LOST alumn Sam Anderson will be playing Dean Paul Fisher Several Glee cast members will be appearing throughout the first season so far, Naya Rivera, Jane Lynch and Mike O'Malley have been cast. Incase you havent caught on yet, Season One's theme is "Family." Not just the one's were related to, but the one we create when we leave home.

I'm reading the episode and just wanted to say, what a fantastic teaser! I loved it. It gets you hooked immediately and the dialogue sits well. I think I'm gonna like Blake.

Alright, I just finished "California Bound" and I must say, despite some bad pacing here and there, I loved it. Your characters are very loveable and already, just over half of them are favorites.
Blake Garrett
Now here we have a very likable, male protagonist. He's kind, not overly sexualized and you just can't help but like him, simply. He interacts very well with each and every one of the others too, even Pete. It's nice when protagonists do that.
Tracy Ford
Tracy is actually a character I don't particularly care for right now. I can't really say I dislike her, I need to see more of her to feel like that, but right now she comes off as very "Meh!" to me. The fact that she's a Cheerleader (Bleh..) and dates a douchebag doesn't exactly help.
Charlie Sullivan
What can I say? Charlie is the character you just can't not like. He's not my personal favorite (we'll get to that very soon) but he's got a lot of good moments.
Lucy Hamilton
And here we are! My favorite out of all your characters. Ah, Lucy. She's absolutely wonderful. She's so full of positive energy and just about every other word she spoke made me giggle or laugh. I have so much love for this character!
Shane Wise
Shane, I feel, was much like Blake in terms of appeal. Sure, he's a bit more sexualized, with the Maya interactions, but he too comes off as very likeable. His interactions with Lucy are very nice.
Maya Lagnston
I really can't comment on her right now. Probably will after next episode.
Pete
Right now he's a douchebag. I don't particularly like douchebags of his type. Maybe he'll change somewhere along the road, but right now I hate him.
Eve Wise
She wasn't in there all that much, but I think I'm gonna enjoy her character a lot too. Her scene with Shane was brilliant and her dialogue there made me smile all the way through.
Now, quotes (there's too many of them) of the day:
I'll have to give it an 8/10. I loved your characters and I felt they really carried the episode. There were some instances of bad pacing, too quick cuts, sloppy transitions, but I think overall, this was still a very nice premiere. I'm a reader.
