Episode 10 will air early (Thursday) morning because I have a doctors appointment and than work so I won't be home until midnight. Which would be (Friday) So I'd rather put it up early than have it be late.

i have to admit, I am becoming slightly more intrigued to read "Winchester" - admittedly, when I first found the VPN, i though it might be a "Supernatural" spin off But now, having read "Easy", and having that remind me how much I enjoyed "Pathways" over on MZP, I think I might have to give this a read next week when Im on a week's break from work. Side note though, Matthew, with the change to the forum backdrop, you might want to change the colouring of your fonts in your 'CAST' section, as the white font is now nearly impossible to see!

Hmm. That's odd it's working perfectly fine for me, but as I mentioned I was also having trouble seeing some of the fonts.

Episode 101 - I started reading Winchester today at lunch and I have to say that I'm quite interested in it. I like stories/shows that are around high school or college students and such. I thought it had an interesting start with "Warren" incident at the beginning and the fact that Blake was there to help him and he had to be transferred to another college...I was like, this might be interesting (can I say interested one more time). All the characters seem likable so far (or not so much...Paul). I like the blossom of a relationship between Maya and Shane they have a cool but awkward feeling...lol! I think Blake is going to get mixed up with starting to have feeling for someone that might get him into trouble or it will be his roommate! Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that you have a new reader and I will be checking this out! 8/10

MUAH HA HA!! Yes that is the laugh I make when I get new readers... not sure why it's my evil cackle though. lol. but yes Blake will indeed fall for someone he shouldn't and more trouble will come of it and maybe he falls a little for Charlie as well... just kidding.. weellllll... I think the Lucy/Charlie shippers will be very upset by that turn of events. LOL. All joking aside I hope you enjoy the rest of season one, can't wait to hear more of your thoughts.

I just started reading this series, I am on the third episode at the moment and it is interesting. I'm curious to know the outcome of the trial, but more importantly the lives of each person is quite intriguing. Plus, I am a sucker for looking for love in the most impossible pair that I'm hoping future seasons will show some form of a connection to Blake and Eve. It is random, I know, but I love the impossible types finding that common ground to build off of. They're all interesting though, especially Charlie. He intrigues me the most, well him and Pete.

The trial will come to a head towards the end of the seasons, so you have a way to go before you find your answers, but I can spoil it's not without more death. HE HEE

HE HEE That is the only way to really make a show have its effect. Murder more people, especially people that you have made grow on the characters. You have to pull the good old Joss Whedon death effect. I still sniffle to the death of Tara.

You know, I was hooked but I really didn't get hooked like I must for go working tonight to actually read more until 1x05. The way you ended it, with the incident leading into the next episodes was fantastic. I'm thoroughly impressed on that scene, it was fantastic. I'm starting the sixth one now, but I have to start getting ready to go to work. I am going to finish a lot of this season tomorrow on my day off. Man, I have missed reading shows like this.

1x06 - Charlie's Way
This was a fantastic episode, it really put the situation at hand into play and proved just how twisted and messed up Darren really is. Shane and Lucy in the elevator was cute, honest, and I'm glad she admitted her feelings. I'm really liking the way Cate and Charlie are acting this episode as well. The characters all deal with the situation by realizing just how deranged Darren is. I, honestly, felt for the characters. He knew he did it and was dealing with the guilt to that point it pushed him to crack and led to the said situation. If they could have left it alone, it would have been okay. Thoroughly enjoyed the music choices as well. The ending, was perfect. The breakdown of the hospital scene was my favorite part and Eve's voice over made me feel each emotion for the characters. I loved this episode. I will be starting 1x07 soon. I cannot wait to reach season two.

Thanks Antonio, I'm really glad your loving the show so far. The school shooting episode was very important to us and something we wanted to do and talked about from the jump. It was very tense and allowed for all our characters to be honest and it showed us who they really are, whether it's beings exactly who we thought we were (like Blake, being a hero) or showing us exactly what were made of (Charlie, being considered a nerd and loser, but still stepping up to be a hero) it was also really important that we didn't paint Darren as just a monster, but show how and he got to his breaking point and hopefully, helping to understand him a little more and yes, Eve's voice over was fun to write. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on seven, and for you to catch up to the finale. At the rate your going, I don't see it taking to long

1x07 - I am thoroughly impressed with this episode. The fact that everyone blamed Pete, which I am the only one who didn't really blame him. I saw just in his actions. The web that did the damage was weaved by Maya, it caught Pete in it, and led to shooting that could have been avoided. She is the real culprit, but i must say she rode that high horse like a true bitch. She might feel bad, but she's really awesome at hiding it. Shane was absent I noticed, but i understood that. He did not really need to be in this episode while dealing with what was going on with Eve. I'm going to say it now, I am not a fan of Lexie. I am pretty sure that's the point of this, but Lexie just already rubbed me the wrong way and I probably won't like her very much. Charlie being stalked by Darren was my favorite, it was perfect. The guilt that he lost a friend, who killed himself right in front of him, and put two of his friends in the hospital was perfect. Darren needed to torture him. It felt authentic and not stretched. I love Charlie, scenes with him are always fun. Blake being the genuine hero here and trying to patch everyone up was cool.
Why he was excited to see Lexie though? That was just creepy. I knew that would not end well. I hope I get a power bitch fest between Eve and Lexie though. I do love Eve, she's the sweetest evil girl you will ever meet.
1x08 - This episode was decent, there were a few SPAG errors I caught along the way, but over all the episode was a good episode. I do like the fact that Pete is feeling more guilty about his role in the shooting, but I think he's going about it all wrong. Eve would have been injured even if someone else had been the ear whisperer to Darren. Cassie seems like a cool girl, so I have nothing bad to say about her. Once again Charlie stole the show in my opinion. His outward look on life and more so the fact that there is so much pent up inside of him, that it makes him my favorite. Same with Pete too, he's a good guy doing all the wrong things. Pete and Charlie are a lot alike. Charlie does the right things for the right reason, but Pete does the wrong thing for the right reason. It is quite an interesting dynamic in my opinion. The ending was the best though. Loved how you ended the show with Eve and the voice overs. Fantastic, one of my favorites all together. Honestly, this series is reminding me why I like drama so much.
Onward to 1x09!

I think everyone is blaming Pete, because they don't know Maya was involved only Lucy and Shane are aware she was involved so they are all directing their anger at Pete. I think out of all the kids, Charlie is the most confused. Darren was his friend, he was about to start dating Lucy, but things went bad very fast, and everyone reacted badly. Charlie feels like he should be angry but just can't bring himself to hate Darren, and to be honest I really liked Darren and was hard for me to not have him be apart of the series anymore. So ghost Darren was created. lol. I was conflicted with Blake because I was worried people would think he didn't care or Darren dying didn't bother him. But him running around trying to put everyone (especially Lucy, Charlie and even Pete) felt right. And we did learn he just felt like he was getting used to death, because of what happened with Warren. Blake was excited to see Lexie because they used to date, which was slightly explained. Your not the first person to have been confused by that. Lol. Your right, that was one of my favorite parts of the show. Pete and Charlie, I knew if I wanted to see Pete become more of a "hero" it would need to feel more like an evolution. Even his role in the shooting, he was doing what he was doing to protect Lucy, he just went about it wrong, but he learned that violence isn't the answer and it only leads to more violence. Deep down he's still selfish and even though he may do the right thing, he ultimately does it only if it benefits him. Which is another character trait I plan to evolve. I believe I said this before, but I'm really loving that your enjoying it so much That ending was fun to write but complicated at the same time. lol. I honestly hate voice overs LMAO I'm always afraid I'll just sound stupid. But Jay and now you love them. So as long as you guys enjoy them I don't mind coming up with them every now and again. I hope you enjoy nine.

FINALLY reading Winchester, but I'm on the two final episodes of the season, it appears the linked episode for 1x11 is incomplete? It seems to stop abruptly with the judge and Blake talking after the situation at Lexie's house...?

Winchester Season One Review When I first came to the VPN, I saw the banner for “Winchester” and frowned - was this some kind of " Supernatural" spin-of? I had a friend who suggested something similar, and I immediately vetoed his idea for a fanfilm, because it would be just SO WRONG. Because of that, it took me a while to finally even go into it and read the series breakdown, and I realised how mistaken I was about the name meaning. I downloaded and saved all the episodes that were available back in March, but it’s only recently, with the build up to Season Two, that I finally got around to reading them… well, that’s not entirely true - I did read the first few, but I found I couldn’t get into it for some reason, although I did enjoy the episodes themselves. I couldn’t really connect with the characters, most probably because the majority of the actors are in shows I don’t watch in reality - I usually use the fact I know an actor to get ‘into’ their character in a VS. But when I did some work on a couple of video projects, and watched some 90210, it revived my love for real-world teen dramas, not to mention the hotness that is Matt Lanter. So, with that interest awoken, I dived back into the remaining episodes of the first season, with full knowledge that certain characters weren’t going to be coming back for the next season, which I think made me appreciate the development of their characters more. {Spoiler}[Seeing Shane grow up to the point that he is there for Eve during her physical therapy, and finally realising his love for Lucy over Maya, and having to deal with the fallout. The moment at the end of the season, I actually let out a load “Oh no!” when I realised what was happening. Likewise, watching Blake and Tracy grow so close, only for him to ultimately leave Winchester to look after his ill mother was heart-breaking, and I'm wondering where Tracy will go next season.] Pete’s journey was by far my favourite ‘character’ arc of the season - I pretty much loathed him, and almost felt sorry for Michael Trevino being ‘cast’, as he does seem to end up playing douche bags. Being punched by Charlie was his definite low point, and to see him come to the court to help Blake, and the fact he has now become welcomed by the others, shows how far he’s changed over the course of the season. While I found the storylines intriguing, and not afraid to pull punches, given the subject matter, such as the hostage situation at the school, Blake’s issues with the law, Lucy’s near-rape, there were times it felt that some characters were short-changed for the sake of expediency - Maya for example. She goes from sultry, to revenge-driven, to repentant, and all very quickly - aside from her story with Fiona coming to visit, she only seemed to serve as a foil for the Shane/Lucy relationship, when she could have been more, which I hope she is for the next season. The same goes for Lexie Sharpe - whereas the character of Darren was really fleshed out for his two episodes, it felt like Lexie was simply brought into to be the ‘crazy ex’ - I personally think it would have been better if she had only been injured by Blake, not out righted killed. Given her back story, it felt rather too easy for her to be killed off. In the case of Darren, I saw him killing himself from the moment he brought in the gun to the college, but it seemed what the story needed, and his ‘haunting’ of Charlie was inspired, even if it did seem to just fizzle out and be forgotten about. I was surprised, given how Tracy pinioned that Charlie was using the ‘funeral’ for his Xbox as a cathartic release, he didn’t have a moment when Darren ‘appeared’ to at least wave goodbye. Lastly, the relationship between Jake and Eve came completely out of left field, but perhaps that was the intention? It will be nice to see Jake be there for Eve next season, and how dating the Dean’s son might affect her work with the college. There was also the matter of spelling and grammar - I know it’s something we all have issues with, but there a lot of moments where I would be reading intently, only to mentally stutter when I came across a word that did make sense. There were a lot of time when “Well” was used instead of “While”, and similar instances, and it takes you out of the enjoyment of reading for several moments because of the non-sequitar. All in all though, I’m going into Season 2 really looking forward to seeing where it takes the established characters, and how it introduces the new ones. Bring it on, Matthew and Chris!
