I'm surprised no one has talked about the premiere on here yet. I watched it last night, and really loved it. This is actually the very first time I'll be watching Doctor Who live, which is exciting, and terrifying at the same time. I've never had to wait for the next episode. I've always been able to punch it in whenever I felt like it. GAH!! "Asylum of the Daleks," I thought, was a great way to start off the season. I felt like I watched series 6 end such a long time ago, but the premiere made me feel so comfortable again, like there was no wait at all. I love that about this show. You go without it for so long, but when it's back, it never misses a beat. The thing I loved most about this premiere, was the new face, Oswin. I don't know why Jenna-Louise Coleman, the actress that is said to portray the Doctor's new companion, Clara, played her in the premiere (Doctor Who confuses me to no end) but she was brilliant. Best part of the episode. I won't get into the episode that much, but yeah... I enjoyed it, and I'm glad the Doctor is back on my TV screen for new adventures!

^Yeah, Oswin was awesome. I love her so much. The companion's name is "Clara Oswin" apparently, and this chick was Oswin Oswald? I'm hoping they're the same because I reeeeeally loved the character. And once you get down into that asylum, you slowly transition, and part of that is losing your memories - what if this was the end of her story, and she lost all her time with the Doctor in the process of it. Then again... that's kind of like River Song - the story starting where it ends. Some people think its Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter, because Moffat specifically requested that she not die at the end of that episode, and the chair they sit in look very similar. But I don't know. She was awesome, and I want her back! DAMMIT DOCTOR WHO. Hahaha.
They did say that she would be mentioned/appear more throughout the next four episodes before that appearance in the christmas special where the actress takes over. XD

I'd glad that you are discovering the bitter-sweetness of Doctor Who, David! I hope you enjoy the next few seasons too!
*edit* Also, I cry like a baby every time I watch that episode.

Yeah, I have LoveFilm Instant but unfortunately you can only get the first four series on there and I've already saw them. Also Torchwood and Torchwood: Children of Earth were on there and i was halfway through series 2 when they decided to remove that series but left s1 and COE. so I'm having to transfer to LQ online links. Oh but I found a stream link for Vincent and the Doctor if anyone wants it. (But I doubt anyone is as far behind as me)

"The Power of Three" has got to be one of my favourite episodes of the entire series so far. As for this season... has anyone noticed that Christmas, Eggs, and Lights are literally being mentioned or seen in every episode so far? I think the lights are definitely in reference to the Weeping Angels, and we know the Christmas Special is when we get introduced to the new companion... where the hell do the eggs come into this? I'm thinking its something that is either building up to the season finale, or next week's episode. Speaking of which... So excited that River Song is back. You have been missed, you flawless thing, you.

Looking forward to "The Angels Take Manhattan." Even though its bound to be an emotional rollercoaster, I'm looking forward to The Weeping Angels - they're my favourite Doctor Who "monster". That, and the episode looks EPIC, especially with you-know-who being back for it!

journeys end: German daleks? really? i did like how all three shows meshed together and how they concluded everything together the cliffhangers were nice although I think sarah jane gave up way to easily. I liked.how they had to wall at torchwood and how when the dalek is about to kill the nobles Rose shows.up and blows.him the high heavens

"The Angels Take Manhattan" What an ending! Honestly, one of the best episodes- if not the best episode- of Doctor Who. Amy and Rory's send off was done brilliantly- I even thought for a second there that everything was going to be okay. Then, Moffat breaks our hearts- but he does it so well. I was not expecting the Angel to take Rory once all was said and done. I did, however, see Amy's final episode factor into the whole "we have to choose which life" and in a lot of ways, factoring in her love for Rory- who would she go with? Rory. So I loved how that all came into play in her final scene.
As sad as I am to see Amy and Rory go - who, over the course of these five episodes, made me fall in love with them- it was more painful when River Song referred to herself as "professor." Which means she's a lot closer to the library than I would have liked. River is probably my favourite character from Doctor Who. She's such a strong character, and I love her relationship with The Doctor- they really do act like an old married couple, and over the course of these last four seasons, we've seen The Doctor slowly fall in love with River- which is all the more heartbreaking because he eventually has to watch her die. He always seemed to reluctant to show his feelings towards her, or even develop them, but now, he's always reaching for her hand, tapping her nose, kissing her, etc. Ugh. Why does River have to die? I don't want it to happen. And omg, he asked her to run with him, and go with him, and- ugh. Come on, River! I hope we have a few more episodes with River left, instead of just one. For me, I would like to have her come back for a block of episodes- whether its 2, 3, 4 or 5, just anything other than one. I want a nice little block of final adventures that does justice for her, and her relationship with The Doctor.
All in all, "The Angels Take Manhattan" was amazing. The Weeping Angels properly scared me- those cherubs are insanely creepy. Amy and Rory were given one hell of a finale. River Song was back and badass as always- this episode made me love her even more, and I didn't think that was possible! And it was so hard watching The Doctor so helpless.
Best.
Episode.
Ever.
