Wow, just finished "The Angels Take Manhattan" and I pretty much agree with everything you said, Jack! Amy and Rory are gone, and even though I previously said I couldn't wait... my heart is broken. You don't realize how much you love those characters until they're gone, and wow... I am really going to miss both Amy and Rory. Their send off was brilliant though.

I'm really excited for the new companion. What's interesting to me is that all the previous companions have pretty much been straight forward, and introduced before their episodes- they'd be like "Amy Pond is scottish, a kiss-o-gram, etc" but with this one, I know very little about her. The craziest theory I've heard is that Jenna Louise Coleman is playing a different character for each episode that share the same face, and there's this huge mystery surrounding that. But I don't think that will be the case. I am, however, pretty certain that Oswin Oswald who we met in the premiere isn't the companion... *cries* and I loved her.

Amy is such a BAMF! Just finished 'The Wedding of River Song' I don't want to have to see her leave. Don't tell me how she leaves, my friend spoiled it for me already!

just thought of something about k9. What if the master had his own version of k9? He'd have to call the Master 'Master Master'. i love my mind

"The Snowmen" I really liked this Christmas special. I love what they're doing with Clara already. It's all very confusing, but the mystery that has already been building up, under our noses, is really intriguing and I just can't wait to see where it all leads.
This is just the second episode I've seen Jenna-Louise Coleman in and her acting ability has proven to be, in my opinion, far more superior to Karen's, and her overall character is a lot more likable this early on, even though we still have the modern-day Clara left to meet.

Why haven't I seen this show yet? I hear a lot about it and I have never seen this show. I'm really interested to watch it, but it's just too bad that I don't have BBC on my TV.
I cannot wait to start watching Doctor Who when I can finally get to it.

So I don't know if I can take this whole "getting attached to companions and then have them leaving" thing, HAHA! Ugh, Martha was so awesome and it was heart breaking to see her leave. Luckily I know she comes back in series 4!

Luckily I know she comes back in series 4! Brady, that's the whole IDEA of the show, the fact that it does keep things changing, both companions AND Doctors, but I do think Tennant's era did go a little too far sometimes, having companions that always seemed to leave in Season finales. That's why I liked the idea that the Ponds would depart mid-season (as it looked liked they were going to), because it harkened back to the classic era where they would leave, and either a new companion would replace them in the same story, or at least, the subsequent one. Saying that, Martha was one of my favourite, because she was an underdog, brought in to replace the popular Rose, so she became a 'love her or hate her' character, and I loved her, and Freema - the way she evolved, grew and changed, chose the family over the Doctor, and saved the world by herself.

I mean, yeah I know that's how the series works and that's how it's going to remain. I was just saying how it's hard to get attached to these characters and have them leave so quickly.

I still miss Martha. She's the only companion I actually miss. I loved Rose in her time on Doctor Who, as well as Donna, but Martha was just so amazing to me. She remains not only my favorite companion, but my favorite character on Doctor Who.

Has anyone been keeping up with series 8? What are your thoughts on Peter Capaldi? Personally, I love him! Even though I'm behind on this season (i've only seen the first four episodes), I'm really enjoying his performance. And Clara just grows on me more and more. Also, "Listen" was just brilliant! One of my favorite episodes of DW in a long time.

I haven't been able to keep up with this new season as much as I have the others but I sincerely hope that they don't move on with Clara Oswald because I feel like they've struck gold with the dynamic between Twelve and Clara.
