So, I had 'O Week' this week, which is basically just granting us Year 10 students the opportunity to test out our new subjects we chose, and get a feel for them to know if its the right course for us, and just experience a bit of Year 11 before we move on over to the new school. It was pretty good. The subjects I chose were: English Advanced (+Extension), Legal Studies, Modern History, Ancient History, PDHPE, and Advanced IPT.
Legal Studies was the best. Mate, if I fail at becoming a Scriptwriter, or a teacher, being a lawyer would be just as amazing - although, I don't think I'm smart enough for that! We had to pretend we were the judges and look at 3 different cases. There was this one where a 62 year old man had 14 charges of Fraud for stealing 1.7 million dollars from 14 different retired people. And the reason he stole the money was to help his wife, who had cancer. And when she passed, he turned himself in and tried to pay the money back, but couldn't retrieve it all, and barely got 10% back to the victims. And then he learned he had cancer too, with only 12 months to live, and everyone in the class wanted to throw him in prison, and here I am: "I can't send that man to prison." Mate. I'd be a terrible lawyer, on a jury, or judge. But the class was fun.
Anyway, I dropped PDHPE because the teacher basically told us we wouldn't get over 70% on our HSC exams for the course because its so extreme, and that its designed in a way that you can't really get full marks. And so I decided to pick up 'Society and Culture' instead. All of my topics (despite Advanced IPT, which I've been forced into for reasons I won't get into) have been chosen to assist me in authenticity in my writing (history, law, society/culture, etc), and also because of the interest I have in them. I would definitely love to be a history or english teacher, as something to fall back on. And so I'll probably (hopefully) go to university for that, but branch out and hopefully get into the television industry somehow.
lmfao, massive ass rant. But this has been my busy week. xD

That's awesome that you got to experience all that, Jack! I kinda wish our schools here let us do that. Which some might, but not the the one that I went to. But wtf man! How could ANYONE throw that man in prison?! Well, okay, yeah, he broke the law and all that but ugkdsgjkdgl. I guess we have too much sympathy to be lawyers/judges >_> I'd fail too.
Everyone talking about their classes and college and stuff has me remembered I need to register for my next semester. -headdesk- I'm supposed to get my degree this summer but I'm not sure if I actually will or not. That, and I'm rethinking my major because I was looking at the requirements to get a English degree and it's too much damn literature. I HATE LITERATURE. -dies-

>.> Well, I like writing but I hate reading. Well, okay, I like reading SOME things but anything older than the 1980s, I cannot STAND. Or if it has crazy language that I'm not used to, I don't like it either. I mean, I appreciate that it got us where we are now and blah blah blahtity blah but I CANNOT STAND READING IT XD It drives me nuts and most of it, to me, is pretty boring.

I like the literature part of English, but it has to be SOMEWHAT entertaining. What I cannot stand is writing essays. Everyone is all "Oh Kerry don't be silly you write all the time how can you write bad essays?" the answer is I WRITE FICTION PEOPLE *sigh* Stupid majors requiring essays all the time. Even History does it to me.....and sorry if I don't make sense I am running on about 3 hours of sleep here...

I LOVE writing essays. I mean, I don't love it, but it's not too difficult for me. I do a massive amount of BSing and my teachers buy it. XD Been doin' it since high school.

Finished my HSC exams last week. Had my formal and the CRAZY afterparty last night (and continuing this morning). I'm tired as hell but it was one awesome night.
Jack: I did Legal Studies in Year 11 and it was a giant bore fest even with a fun teacher.

"Internet censorship has been required by law since 1934."
I just found that quote from someone on a forum and I just...wow. The idiocy of people. Do they think before they speak/write? I was not aware we had COMPUTERS in 1934, much less the internet. Surely I haven't been living under a rock >_>

lol, I remember back when I was little we had a family computer that my Pop got us for Christmas, and we didn't get internet for a while after that, but when we did, it was dial up and me and my sister always fought over whose turn it was, and would spit the dummy when the other was on longer than they were meant to be. (We had 2 hour switch-overs). God, it was terrible. And the internet was so slow -- my dad was always under the impression that if you clicked the link more than once it would load faster *shakes head* Oh, how far we have come, lmfao!

LMAO OMG! My first computer was a DOS computer, then we got Windows 95. It was SO slow and we didn't have internet for a while, either. I remember my mom's first laptop, too. The hard drive was 2 gigs! OMFG. My MUSIC doesn't fit in 2 gigs! Much less what ever else I've got on my computer. I would DIE. My IPOD has more hard drive space than that! I laugh every time I hear the dial-up sound, it's so terrible. My grandma, up until summer of 2008, still had dial-up. Oh my GOD. I admit to being under the impression that clicking the link more than once made it load faster, too. Now I know all it does is make things freeze and crash >.>
I remember when cable internet first came out. I feel old saying that, but oh my God. I remember how like, when you were on dial-up, you couldn't be on the phone and the computer at the same time >.> That used to frustrate the HELL out of me.
EDIT: I apologize if that was jumpy and incoherent. I'm so hyped on caffeine right now, my mind is going 23984092834 miles a minute XD

So, I sat down to do some image promos for Age of Heroes and Outcasts, and some possible fanart images of other VPN shows...only to realize that in my rage-wipe of most of my photoshop folders a few months ago >_> I lost ALL my brushes, textures and patterns. FML. Now I have to go hunt for new ones. XD

This Christmas I plan on doing a lot of volunteer work. Kids, animals and the elderly. Anything I can. Normally I will work a soup kitchen during Christmas, but I decided to vote this month to helping others in between work. I hope others have decided to do at least one volunteer thing this December. And if so, what is it?
