Sookie was completely wasted, and it's the most I've enjoyed her character in a long while. I hope she continues to improve because seriously, she's the lead and she's like dead weight to me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is enjoying Sookie this season. I think it just shows that a human trapped in a vampire love triangle doesn't do anything for your main character (True Blood, Vampire Diaries). Now that she's not jumping from Bill to Eric, and despite the feelings blossoming between her and Alcide, she's very much on her own at the moment - and she's starting to become one of my favourites again. Even though I love Pam, it was awesome to see Sookie blast her across the room with her fairy powers - not accepting defeat when Pam threw her across the room. Sookie is very enjoyable this season! XD

^Oh, I know right? Drunk Sookie in the latest episode, when she was being all cheerfully cynical over her life, was the best of her character for a long, long time. Get her drunk more often, writers! Seriously.

^Hahaha. Yeah, give Sookie a drinking problem! That should keep her character interesting.
I haven't seen the most recent episode that just aired. I just read a recap of it, and am quite shocked at the turnout. I'm only in 'quick reply' and am too lazy to edit and put spoiler tags, so I won't say exactly what it was (it involves a certain actor from Law and Order: SVU lol!). Anyway, this season is pretty damn good so far. I think, personally, the Sookie/Alcide relationship is much better to follow than Sookie and either Eric or Bill. I think watching Tara transition more and more into her role as a vampire has been fun - especially beginning the season with her sort of deranged from having her brains blown out. And the Pam/Eric stuff has been great - I loved that we got to dig into their history, and see their origin story of how they first met, how Pam became a vampire, etc.
The only story I'm not really digging is the Terry "flashback" one. It felt like it was dealing with emotional, human trauma, but now there's this fire... thing. Ugh. And also, I'm really over Lafayette's character, and his whole "demon" thing. I kind of hope he either dies at the end of the season, or just gets over his whiny phase and gets back into "takes no bullshit" attitude and wit that he had in the first few seasons. Anyway, the season is pretty good so far! XD

Nope. I don't buy it for even a second. Firstly, they made Roman a REGULAR, listed in the opening credits. You don't become a regular for five bloody episodes. And secondly... they made the odd choice to only show his face turning weird and not him exploding into vampgoo. Hmm... So yeah. I think there's something fishy there. Or I wish that there is something fishy going on there, at least. Him and Salome are probably my two favorite characters right now, along with Russell. A bit ironic, I know...

This season was better than season four, though it really couldn't have gotten any worse. There are a few interesting aspects of the season, but it's like the writers spend such a small amount of time focuses on them, and bucket loads of time on storylines that people don't really care about.
So many missed opportunities in this season, and in the show overall. I don't know if I'll even be back next season. It depends on how good or bad the finale turns out.

So yeah... I don't know if I'm done with this show yet or not. S5 had moments where I was like "omg, its actually getting better" but it sizzled out. I stopped watching full episodes, and just looked clips up on youtube. They have way too many characters and storylines going on that never seem to link in at the end, and its just very disappointing. The finale had some great moments- Tara and Pam are my favourite characters, but I didn't really see them as a romantic relationship, as much as it was a mentor/student, adoptive mother/daughter kind of thing. So that was kind of off putting when they started making out. Tara was wasted as a character, as well- honestly, they turn her into a vampire, and her storyline was on bullying? Jeeeesus. I can't. Sorry. I can't!

I don't know. I haven't seen season 5 yet, and season 4 left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't know if I could stomach several more seasons of this.

One thing that has always bothered me about True Blood is the lengthy span of time that goes by until a new season comes out. Every Summer, there is a premiere, but that to me is ridiculous. It takes only a few months for viewers to lose interest, and a whole year can make people forget everything that took place in the past season. Great show, wonderful creativity. I have to say I don't like where it's headed, though.

It's a HBO series. Its standard for cable television shows to air 10-13 episodes a season and go on year long breaks. I honestly prefer it. I couldn't watch True Blood all year.

I'll probably end up watching season six, but not necessarily because I want to. It's no secret that this show has taken quite the dip in quality over the years, but I'm trying to stick it out. I can't say I actually have a character who will keep me coming back for more. I mean, during season 4, that character Jessica, but she was completely useless in season 5; hopefully the writers come up with a better storyline for her this season. But my expectations are not that high.

True Blood always has a way with making their trailers look pretty great, but then the season just blows...

Since the season 6 premiere was pretty darn good, I decided to hold off any comments I had about it until episode 2 came out... and I'm glad I did, because it really sucked. At least a major chunk of it. I knew it was too good to be true, but hopefully True Blood can recover. *I doubt it* But it looks like I'm too stubborn to stop watching.

Is anybody tuning in for the final season? I kind of stopped watching this show religiously because it became something that set up a gazillion ridiculous storylines all at once, and there was no real good pay off for any of them (Tara being a vampire was to tackle a 'bullying' storyline? This isn't "Glee!") Anyway, I'm kind of interested to at least tune into the finale but for the most part I think I'll be watching the final season via gifs on tumblr.

I'll most likely watch the final season as it airs. I've stuck with it this long, granted I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. But it would be silly of me to quit when it's so close to finally being over. Last season ended on a 'somewhat' interesting note though, so while I'm not particularly looking forward to starting next season, I'm sure I'll at least be somewhat entertained when I do, if that makes any sense. Probably not, because I've lost all reason and logic when it comes to my True Blood viewing habits.

I feel like what's going to happen is I'll catch some gifs of the premiere when it airs, and be like "whoa, that looks awesome" and try to watch it. I mean they only have 10 episode seasons now I'm fairly sure, but with that said, just watch them set up about 18 differently storylines with all these characters, and then just kill a whole bunch of them off in the finale because they bit off more than they could chew. Again. *bitter* I just read through this feed, and was laughing at your "The trailer makes this season look awesome" *Watches premiere* "This looks like a really epic season" *watches episode 2* "This show sucks."
