It's the same continuity, but the films really have no connection between each other besides Robert Downey, Jr.
The reason for the actor change was "negotiations between Marvel and Edward Norton broke down". I had heard that Norton wanted complete control over his character and was being a complete ass about it, and they just ended up letting him go, but I'm not sure how true that is so don't quote me on it.

Can some one answer these questions:
1 Why weren't Ant-Man and Wasp in "Avengers"?
2 Why does everybody not like the film "Catwoman?
4 Will Marion Cottilard be playing Talia Al Ghul in DKR or is that a roumor?
5 Why didn't Tim Burton direct the 90's Batman sequels?

I think the main reason behind the hate "Catwoman" gets, other than people just not enjoying the film, was that it wasn't THE Catwoman story like people hoped - they wanted to see Selina Kyle, and they wanted that origin story told. Instead, it was about a different "Catwoman", and the origin story was completely changed.
As for Marion Cottilard, I'm pretty convinced she's Talia Al Ghul, but at the moment it is still a rumor. Its been confirmed that there'll be a YOUNG Talia Al Ghul in the film, but I think Marion plays the much older version of the character, and I'm pretty sure she's the main love interest in the film.
I don't know about the other questions - I think Tim Burton had creative difficulties, or something, I'm not sure. But the guy that took over made the films too "comic booky" and all colourful and stuff, and Tim Burton was more into the dark mythology, and keeping everything, you know, not colourful, haha.

Carey you are correct. However, Norton and the current actor are good friends and he kinda received his blessing.
ilikecars I will answer your questions. 1)Joss Whedon wanted Antman and Wasp, but they didn't want to establish brand new characters in the Avengers movie because it was would take time.
2)Everyone doesn't like the Catwoman film because it was a horrible travesty and just terrible. The only redeeming feature is that Halle is hot....but it was not redeeming enough.
3)They are trying to keep it a secret but here is what IMDB says "Portrayed by Marion Cotillard, Miranda Tate is a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne continue his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham. Miranda Tate is rumored to be Talia Al Ghul. "
4)Tim Burton directed the first two and then left. he didn't even want to do the second one because of his personal feelings about the first. These were actually kinda controversial films when they came out so it there were several other issues as well. Warner Bros. decided to go lighter and more family friendly which is why they got rid of Burton. Keaton refused to stay with Burton gone. (This was all on Wikipedia)

that's not the only redeeming feature. The acting was pretty good. The suit was awesome. Halle got the "puuurfet" down and the climax was pretty good. And I know why they used a different Catwoman. This takes places in the same universe as the Burton/Shumacher films. Selina and Patience were ressureccted the same way and if you look closely, in th scattered pictures, Phiefer's Catwoman is seen.

I don't think EVERYONE hated the film. I thought it was alright - that said, I would have much preferred a Selina Kyle origin story, especially with the film being called 'Catwoman.' The mythology in the film is what annoyed me most, but other than that, I really liked it.

You asked me a question and I gave you an answer . It wasn't a good movie that is why everyone I know hates it. You obviously think something else and I refuse to debate this with you because it doesn't matter.

Yeah, I heard something about Norton wanting the film to end in a specific way, and they had that ending planned, and he was all fine and happy with it, but then they decided to go a different direction, and Norton got pissed off. Then all this hooplah crap happened, and he didn't sign on to continue the character anymore. lmao!

Isn't that the same thing? A debate is a discussion when people don't agree...XD and we really don't need to argue semantics either.

Either way, you didn't have to answer his question if you didn't want to be involved in the "Catwoman" discussion...

I'm not angry ilikecars its okay. I gave an answer from the perspective of the people who don't like the movie and I was told I was wrong. Its was an opinion it isn't something that is wrong or right.
*edit: Also this is exactly what I DIDN'T want to happen. I didn't want to argue it because I knew we had differing opinions that weren't going to change.

I'm so torn. I think The Dark Knight Rises is going to be brilliant, but I don't know which one I'm going to enjoy more because The Amazing Spiderman looks f-cking amazing! (despite the Lizard, but I won't get into that...) HAHA.

I think I'm the only one that thinks Spiderman does not need another reboot. But since this is happening, I might as well accept it, and hope for the best. The movie does look pretty good though.

I agree Jason I don't think they need a reboot...they needed a better third movie.
