CONFIRMED: SARAH MICHELLE GELLER COMES TO ROSEMOUNTITS ALL COMING TRUE! After a risky jump, Buffy star, Sarah Michelle Geller has signed on for a 6 episode arc in the second season of the hit VPN drama, THE PATH NOT TAKEN. Brian Melanson had this to say "I've really wanted to add Sarah to this cast because of her personality as a strong woman, which I think the show already has enough of, but I feel that having Sarah will improve it even further." As for Sarah's role in the show is unknown, lead actress Nina said this "Sarah will play a very pivotal role in Jenny finding her father which I am very excited for. There is a HUGE plot twist and people will be shocked with the results of how Jenny deals with that" What's Sarah's role? How does it tie into Jenny finding her real father? Find out soon

INTERVIEW WITH NINA DOBREV VPToday: So Nina, it's been a crazy ride getting to Season Two! What were your thoughts on coming back to the show? Nina: It's amazing to be coming back. On the last day of shooting Season One, Brian said to be prepared for being cancelled but then a few months later, I get the call from him saying "We're back" and I knew what he was talking about. VPToday: That's crazy. Now let's look back at Season One. It was a crazy road for Jenny. Nina: Yes it was. (Laughs) VPToday: She learned that she has a Father out there she doesn't know about. She confronted her ex abusive boyfriend, who is now dead. Her brother is now dead. And through all of that. She managed to find her way back home. What are your thoughts on that? Nina: From the Pilot episode to the very end of the season, Jenny has grown as a character. At first as Brian wrote her, she was a little bit of a bitch. But how I saw it was, Jenny was this girl, who didn't want help. She wanted to try and do it on her own. But then as she saw in future episodes, she can't do this alone. No one can. And I think that the character of Jenny is a wonderful one because not only does she give hope to people out there who are struggling with either drinking or drug addictions, but it also gives out the message that there are people behind you all the way and will love you no matter who you become. VPToday: And one of the most surprising things that we have come to see was the kiss that ended the season. Nina: Yes. (Laughs) Cory and I both were in my trailer reading the script and when we saw that we would kiss, we both looked at each other and said "It's about time" (Laughs) VPToday: Personally, both you and Cory have great chemistry that will bring the story of Jenny and Henry to life. Nina: There's so much to come for them...it's going to be an amazing story to tell VPToday: On that, what can you tell us about Season Two? Nina: Season Two is really, not just about Jenny, but about the other characters as well. Each character gets an episode where a story will be told about them and how it plays out for the rest of the series. Like for Mellie [Jessica Alba] she has to deal with the choice of marrying Christopher [Matt Davis]. Henry [Cory Montieth] will struggle with Christy's advances on him and how she's going to drive a wedge between Jenny and Henry. Holly will be having her baby this season as it has been nine months. And Alyson [Jennifer Love Hewitt] will come back to town with so news that will change her character. VPToday: Now there is a rumor going around that Selena Gomez is leaving 'The Path'. Can you comfirm this for us? Nina: Yes, Selena is leaving the show after a few episodes. The reason why is Brian feels like he's summed up her story. And she'll be back as a guest star in future episodes but he feels that having to focus on Holly as a mother will take away from the main aspect of the show. We do get to see her as a mother and how she and the father of the baby handle it. But how Selena's character leaves the show is a happy one. It's not sad and it's the way Brian thinks it's how Holly should go out. She doesn't die (Laughs) but she does leave town with her baby and boyfriend, but the reason why is what will make people see that there is a brighter future out there, even for those who felt like they don't have one. And that's what the focus of the season is, the future is brighter. VPToday: Well that's all the time for today, check back later for an interview with Cory Montieth, Jessica Alba, Matt Davis, Selena Gomez and Jennifer Love Hewitt

DRAMATIC CHANGES ON THE PATH
Matt Davis has announced today that he is leaving "The Path". He plays Chris Wellington, the lover of Mellie (Jessica Alba). What does this mean for that story? Brian says "I'm not giving up on them yet". Bradley Cooper has signed on to play the lover and possibly future husband of Mellie Seaver. "Bradley was going to work with me on 'The Protectors' But after that show 'fell out' so to say, I knew I would love to work with him. Bradley and Jessica have amazing chemistry both on and off screen. I'm excited because this season for Mellie and Chris is huge! Their story starts off this year at a bit of low note but in the second episode, it really goes places. It puts the couple in problems that they don't want to face." Says Brian.
Brian has also stated that he is shooting a heavy duty episode that will tap into Jenny's past and Serena's present. "We just shot this very powerful scene between Serena and Jenny. It's one of my favorite scenes because it really shows Jenny going back to that dark place and how she felt when she was with Brad. We go deeper into that relationship and learn that it wasn't just abuse, it was much more. And this is painful for Jenny to relive but she doesn't revert back to drinking, it shows that she has finally stood up and saw that she is a powerful woman and it not going to let anyone break her down like that again"
EXCITING ISN'T IT! Well we're all excited to see how this is going to play out in the fall. The second episode promises more Drama that will continue into future episodes. More to come on Selena's departure and Jennifer Love Hewitt's emotional return to the show that Brian promises will be new territory for him.
