Attention MEN and WOMEN of the VPN...... There is a crisis looming that needs to be handled and its going to take a FULL VPN LEAGUE response Now you all may have heard that there is going to be a Green Arrow tv show for the CW.....And I'm sure you guys have also heard that Black Canary is going to be on the show......but NOT as Black Canary. ANd you might have ALSO heard that Justin Hartley WILL NOT be GA for this series www.greenarrowtv.comSO what is your thought process behind all of this....ESPECIALLY YOU JACK MALONE. Cuz i know HOW much you love GA and Chloe together  |

Uhm... I'm excited for the new show, I'm glad it won't be Justin Hartley, and I'm excited to see what they do with Dinah, and/or Oliver/Dinah. XD

Well I saw it and I was like YES. And then of course i saw how they changed the Black Canary's Name and history. AND THEN made Oliver have a sister...which of course threw me off for a second |

I mean, Smallville made changes to Dinah's character, in terms of her origins a little, and the show wasn't known for sticking to the mythos to the dot. Perhaps Dinah is called "Laurel" because her mother shares her name, and its a terrible reminder of something? I think the show is going to deal with the past of these characters a lot, like Oliver/Dinah's parents, and Oliver's friendship with Merlyn. I don't know. I'm excited to see it. The minute they announced they were doing a Green Arrow show, I hoped and prayed it wouldn't be with Justin Hartley, only because I wanted something new to watch, and didn't want any Smallville tie-ins. |

I think a reason why comic book shows/films, even, don't always get the best reception is because they don't necessarily follow the mythology to the dot, and that peeves a lot of people off. But sometimes things only work in the comic book medium, whereas they wouldn't work in the television medium. And I think, its more fun to watch a show that inspired by other material, rather than a show that adapts the material to the dot, and there are no surprises.
The Vampire Diaries is based on books, but barely follows those events, at the very least, not to the dot. And that's a brilliant series. I think its a bold move to make a Green Arrow series, especially just a year after Smallville has finished (and the crazy rabid fans were praying for a GA spin off!), but I'm looking forward to it. I think it could be pretty damn epic, and I'm really glad they're not following the comics to the dot, or following the events of Smallville in any way. Its new. XD
Plus, I kind of hope Yvonne Strahovski lands the role of Dinah "Laurel" Lance.

I'm pretty excited for "Arrow," especially now that Katie Cassidy has signed on to portray Dinah Lance  Also... Jack convinced me to follow SMALLVILLE Season 11 when it comes out. *sighs* I thought I was DONE with that show  |
