Continuing our string of cast interviews during the hiatus of "The Outcasts", VSGuide sat down with Willem Dafoe, the dark and menacing Norman Osborn--or should we say, "The Green Goblin"? He filled us in on the future of the Goblin and a few secrets pertaining to his role in the next run of episodes and the rest of the season as a whole.

VSGuide: In the last episode, Green Goblin was seemingly killed by his own hand. Seeing as how you're still a part of the show, did Norman live or will we be simply seeing his presence now that his children have come into the picture?

Willem Dafoe: Norman Osborn is very much alive. He was stabbed with his own glyder but [laughs] the bane of his existence saved his life. If it weren't for Spider-Girl, he would be dead. But his kids are the ones keeping him alive, which you will see in the upcoming episode.

VSGuide: Now that Norman knows Spider-Girl's secret identity, Melanie, will he use it to blackmail her? Will he expose her?

Willem Dafoe: Oh no [laughs]. He will use the information for his own personal benefit to get back at her but he won't use it to expose her. There is almost a silent, mutual agreement between them. He knows that she's Melanie Haelstrom and she knows that he's Norman Osborn. He has his own best interests in mind and it wouldn't be wise to risk exposing himself, now would it?

VSGuide: But he wants Spider-Girl dead, so wouldn't exposing her identity to the public allow other criminals or people with ill-feelings towards her to help him achieve that?

Willem Dafoe: The last thing Norman wants is for someone to kill Spider-Girl. She has caused him unnecessary grief and he wants her personal pain and her death to be at his own hands. If he had the opportunity a while back, he would have been fine with a lackey doing it for him, but now that she has crossed a line....it is personal.

VSGuide: It sounds like this is going to get intense fast. What kind of schemes can we expect from the Green Goblin in coming episodes?

Willem Dafoe: A magician never gives away this secrets. [laughs] Frankly, Norman has a lot up his sleeve and with his kids coming in to the picture it's only going to get more hellish for Spider-Girl and everyone associated with her. Things could definitely turn deadly and much worse than just dropping Mary-Jane over a bridge. He is going to target everyone and we'll see him using old and new tactics to get what he wants.

VSGuide: Last question. Will we be seeing Norman's kids donning any costumes to help their father in the "family business"?

Willem Dafoe: In this round of the game, nothing is off limits.
