WOW stevieg, I was a huge Sanctuary fan, and like you and many others, was really miffed that they killed off Ashley in that way - although I really took to Kate Freelander as well.
It appears you are once again the winner, simply by default, but Abnormals would definately have been on my top 3 list no matter what pther submissions might have materialised!

I love the choice of song, dude, and I think this version far outpaces the S1 effort, but I do have to suggest something. In my opinion, you have too many clips being used for each character in such a short space of time - they flash past so quickly, it made me a little dizzy! Why not stretch it out to the regular 50 seconds or so, to do all the characters justice? You could always do a smaller 10-15 second one later one, like some shows use to cut the intro down in certain episodes.

Jackson was definately the character you could love to hate, and I think some fans reacted badly to Colton's departure, especially given the sudden nature of it. I'd gladly have him back in TW then some lame guest appearances in Arrow, that's for sure, but i'm also looking forward to seeing how his absence will affect other characters.

very cool about Colton & Shelley - but what's this about Colton getting hatred from fans?! Let me at them, let me at them, I'll knock the stuffing out of them for abusing my darling boy!

ive just finished the 4th season of the UK Being Human, where it's all change with the cast - was disappointed Nina didn't get a proper exit, but I suppose with Russell/George going in the first episode, she was surplus to requirements. The US version, I find a lot more 'believable' if that makes sense, though, especially with their take on Annie/Sally, and how she's intangible, completely, whereas Annie in the UK version can interact with the environment... I also like the way the storyline with Josh and Nora has gone, and they've eased up on the guilt that Mitchell felt in Aidan, and had him become more involved in vampire politics and now, their survival.

Wow... my first (and maybe only) MOTM that I myself have to organise and create!
Thank you again Steve, for choosing me as the winner of the previous month's thread, against some very stiff competition.
Okay so for March I want to focus on a recent thread put together by Chris Davies, called "Spinoffs, Continuations and Adaptions" for inspiration.
I want you to take a live-action television show that has been off the air for a while, and develop a SPIN-OFF, focusing on the central/main cast character you like the LEAST
It CANNOT be a show that is still running, or is a show that is a spin-off of it's own, aka, "Angel".
If it's a classic TV show, aka, "Wonder Woman", "New Adventures of Lois & Clark", you must take into consideration the amount of time that has passed for certain characters.
An example would be, "Charmed", and in my case, my least favourite main character was Darryl Morris. (Not saying I hated him, just was the one I didnt like as much), so it could be a show set in modern day New York, where Darryl is now working with the NYPD, and finds himself drawn into the world of magic again, when a white-lighter is assigned to his newly adopted teenage daughter, who is destined to be a white-lighter herself some day.
I want you to develop a premise for the show, a cast of characters, and put together synopses for the premiere and first 5 episodes.
Good Luck!

i have to admit, I am becoming slightly more intrigued to read "Winchester" - admittedly, when I first found the VPN, i though it might be a "Supernatural" spin off But now, having read "Easy", and having that remind me how much I enjoyed "Pathways" over on MZP, I think I might have to give this a read next week when Im on a week's break from work. Side note though, Matthew, with the change to the forum backdrop, you might want to change the colouring of your fonts in your 'CAST' section, as the white font is now nearly impossible to see!

whoa... big shock! I was really looking forward to seeing how Outcasts was going to play out, and Kerry had finally gotten back into the swing of writing on Bad Wolf. I hope we will hear from them again when they find themselves new homes.

I'm personally still dealing with the departure of Colton and Jackson, really hate it when actors leave between seasons and it screws up potential storylines, and they dont even get a proper exit. Same goes for Erica/Gage, especially considering how the series ended, but these things happen, I suppose. I agree that Lydia needs to become more 'involved' with everything now, and maybe without Jackson, she can develop a bit more without him holding her back, maybe grow closer to Stiles, who knows? I also hope we see more of the Vet and the Guidance Counselor (character names escape me at the moment!) and see what it is they do, and who they report to, and how they will be involved in this whole Alpha Pack storyline.

Chris, when I went back and changed around a few details, I made an effort to keep mentions of years and events vague, so not to deliberately clash with anything either Trinity or Watchtower had stated. I will admit, I did want to do my own take on certain characters, like Vixen, Cheshire, but nothing was written or set in stone, and I've written enough stories and scripts to now how plots can change suddenly when you realise what you have doesn't work that well. I loved both shows, and believe that MSCU would benefit really well from having certain backstory events to bolster it's own mythology, such as the destruction of the original Watchtower or the continuing presence of Checkmate in dealing with meta-human matters. That said though, the show would still be pretty much standalone for the most part, just like Trinity stands alone from Watchtower. As posted above, there is a planned episode to feature Lex, but it wouldn't deal with 'Lex, the Checkmate official', but rather 'Lex, the businessman and philanthropist', or at least that image he projects to the unsuspecting public. I also have an idea about Kitty's past, but I would run that past Jack once I know if/when the show gets picked up and goes ahead.

Charmed

Charmed was there for me during a time in my life where I was going through hell with my parents and life choices, and for a while, it became a crutch, but when I was able to stand on my own again, I still found a fondness for this show, and some of the early symbolism. I'm gonna go to bat here and say I LOVED PAIGE! Don't get me wrong, I loved Prue too, but S3 for me, felt like the "Super-Prue" season - Seasons 1 and 2 were all about the sister bond, and growing as women, not just witches, but S3, suddenly Prue can seem to do no wrong! She's suddenly better at martial arts then Phoebe, hell she could even gunsling?! S4 gave the show a new breath, as once again the sisters dealt with loss, but instead of it being a parent or guardian, it was a sibling - i always felt thought though it could have explored more of the fact that Paige lost out on never knowing Prue, and how that affected her, or how Victor felt about another sister and his reaction to Paige, which was completely glossed over. I loved the overall 'darker' nature of S4 once the initial introductions to Paige were complete, but apparently, the producers liked the whole 'comedy' thing, since they seemed to keep that in every season after for the first 4 or 5 episodes. I do agree though that after S4, the show plateaued, and the sisters were never really properly developed beyond the initial idea: Piper, the neurotic, Phoebe, looking for love, and Paige, looking for life direction. There are SO MANY ways the show could have done better, but they didn't want to push the envelope anymore. Coincidentally, Paige was introduced at a time when I was asserting my individuality from the constraints of family - I changed my birthname, and my last name Matthews, was inspired by Paige herself. Ironically, though, I always loved the fact that throughout her time on her show, she NEVER went by Halliwell, she was paying tribute to the mother and father that raised her.

Just had a minor "Bitten" marathon, read Eps 3 to 5 in short order... HOE. LEE. COW!!
Werewolves, witches and vampires, oh my!
I have to say, I'm feeling sorry for Sara and Milo, they're not having an easy time of life at the moment, Milo had it on the money when he said that since the Adlers moved to town, it's brought nothing but trouble. They're both in the center of something mysterious and large, and they're only now beginning to realise, but's it cost them dearly. How many people are lying to them 'for their own good', will they really be able to believe ANYONE once all the lies are exposed?
I'm going to bullet point my favourite moments to keep it simple otherwise I will ramble for AGES:
- SHOCKED at the two sudden deaths of both Wayne and Ed, ESPECIALLY Ed, that totally came out of the left field!
- LOVED the Griffon/Milo scenes, I just had a feeling it was building up to the kiss, although at the same time, it felt a little bit rushed that Griffon fell deeply enough to risk everything after 4 episodes.
- Gabriel Adler = WORLD CLASS JERK!! Wonder what his true end game will bring..?
- Jeremy/Gwen = SO CUTE! If Jeremy does go down that path, what will it mean for them?
Darrin, if this is what you are writing for regular episodes, I CAN'T WAIT to see what you have planned for a mid-season finale! Please take this as the compliment it is intended as but seriously, "Bitten" to me is the VPN's equivilant of "Vampire Diaries"! Keep it coming!
