I would like to point out that Jack has said someone dies... but don't forgot Chloe, technically is dead at the moment, and has been so for a year by the time the third season begins - but we KNOW she is coming back from the dead. Just because someone else in the main cast has been labelled to be 'dying', it doesn't necessarily mean they will STAY dead if Bruce has this knowledge at his disposal...

no, Jack, I'm with on the front that I'm hoping they reduce the island stuff - yes, it helps show us how Ollie became the man he is now, but at the same time, they could tone it down, reduce it to every other episode, but I guess with Slade becoming a full time regular, unless he's coming in as the new Big Bad, then I guess we'll be seeing the same amount of island fare. Love the fact that both Roy and Felicity are coming back as regulars, but I also hope we see more of Laurel's mother, because I love Alex Kingston from way back yonder, and hope they use her to expand Laurel into her "Black Canary" alter ego.

currently storyboarding out episode 3 of M:SCU, aiming to have the first have of the season all storyboarded by the end of the month, and progressing into writing them, once storylines are nailed down. hoping to start releasing 'spoilers' and get speculation going and finding out what people would like to see within the next week.

I've decided that, in order to establish the characters the way I want them to, I will write the first season by myself, but I'm terrible at editting my own work for spelling and grammar, so:
2 Beta-Readers required, 1 minimum, but I would prefer two, just to split out the workload.
Also, while I have passable graphic skills, I would prefer a more experienced hand joining in to make any graphics, i.e. title cards, promo banners, look as good as possible.
IM me here on the forum if you're interested.

Metropolis: Special Crimes Unit
Main Characters Captain Maggie Sawyer(portrayed by Jill Teed) A tough as nails member of the Metropolis Police Department, Maggie transferred from Star City after her divorce, and steadily worked her way up to Captain before transferring to the Detective Division. She has been assigned a variety of high profile cases in the past, and has always given 110% to her job, sometimes at the cost of a social life, and causes a strained relationship with her teenage daughter, Jamie. She has had no significant personal interactions since she came to Metropolis but this will change as she forges close bonds not only with her new partner and the staff at the SCU, and as her burgeoning relationship with reporter Toby Raines develops. Although, like most police officers in the city, she doesn't agree with the 'costumes' waging their own battle, she does appreciate how their work has improved things, and has come to see the usefulness those not in law enforcement can have in crime solving. However, she also feels that certain members of the higher ranks have come to depend on their help a little too often, and has been rather outspoken in her opinion that the whole of Metropolis PD needs more serious training and extra funding. Her transfer to command of the S.C.U. was supposed to be a punishment duty, but she has turned the department around with a high case closure rate, earning her the support of Police Commissioner Mike Henderson. Detective Danny Turpin(portrayed by David Paetkau) After his testimony convicted several other officers at the 44th precinct, Dan Turpin has not had it easy, often getting into fights with his fellow officers who question his loyalty to the force. His marriage has been under strain as her career went through a downward spiral, as he was relegated to various lowly duties, but his promotion to Detective, 3rd Grade, and transfer to the SCU gives him hope things are turning around in his favour. Tenacious and stubborn, he is a good sidekick for Sawyer, acting as her partner, as she sees potential and wants to help hone his skills and smooth down the edges he has developed over the past year. His wife Suzie and son Thomas are the light of his life, and he goes to work every day to make the streets of Metropolis safe for them and other families, just like his own father, a police sergeant before his death in the line of duty, did before him. Dr. Beth Chapel(portrayed by Tembi Locke) The youngest of 5 children and only daughter of a minister from Orangeburg, South Carolina, who went on to become a junior Medical Examiner working for the Metropolis OCME, Beth Chapel has seen some bizarre cases across her autopsy table. A trained forensic pathologist with the necessary medical and legal qualifications, she originally trained as a surgeon in Los Angeles before the loss of too many patients took its toll, transferring to the Medical Examiner's office. After a short time though, she found that while her 'patients' were no beyond her medical help, she could still bring them some peace by helping put their killers away. Wanting to progress further in her new field, she started taking night school courses, and achieving her law degree, went to work where she felt she could get a new start, leaving LA behind, and moving to Metropolis. Her attention to detail, and ability to look beyond the obvious, and keep an open mind, and her friendship with Maggie Sawyer, means she has become the unofficial ME to the SCU, often being assigned to their cases, which appealed to Chapel's sense of justice, inherited from her father. Wally West(portrayed by Fran Kranz) One of the several forensic technicians assigned to the crime lab at Metro Central, the main branch of the Metropolis Police Department, Wally was recruited from the Central City police lab by Maggie herself, since he felt a place like Metropolis would offer more of a challenge, especially with the increase in meta-related cases. She recognised his talent and genius, even if it came with a somewhat eccentric and outrageous personality, which had caused several reprimands on his service record. Wally loves being the source of attention, and knows he can deliver the goods, be it with some little tid-bit of information, or one of his cheesy wisecracks, that only he really finds funny. But all this behaviour is to mask the fact that he suffers from a anxiety disorder, brought about when he suffered a case of identity theft, and someone ran up large bills in his name. He is the main go-to guy for any matters relating to forensics matters on any SCU cases, and while he will sometimes go out to crimes scenes, this is only as a last resort, so he is usually a lab-rat, happy to help from the sidelines. Dr. Kitty Faulkner(portrayed by Felicia Day) A brilliant research scientist, Kitty Faulkner was one of the last personal hires of Virgil Swann before his untimely death several years ago, and has slowly risen to the position of Assistant Head of Research and Development at the Metropolis branch of S.T.A.R. Labs, a private research institute set up by Swann. Although a biochemist by training, Kitty’s genius IQ and photographic memory have become something of al all-rounder as well as a go-to trouble shooter, and this is what brings her to the attention of Maggie Sawyer and the S.C.U. when Dr. Chapel recommends they pay a visit to her for help with a ‘meteor rock’ problem. Kitty’s cheerful demeanour and occasional ditzy moments hide a dark past, growing up where she was abused by a step-father, and rejected by a mother jealous of her intelligence, meaning Kitty has had very little in the way of familial support over the years. The bonds she forms with the S.C.U. members go some way to mitigating these feelings, and although over the years she has attempted to play down her natural intelligence and amazing mind to better ‘fit in’ with people, it is the work at both S.T.A.R. and with the S.C.U. that allows her to finally come into her own.

METROPOLIS: SPECIAL CRIMES UNIT The city of Metropolis has always been a place of mystery and the bizarre, but has seen a lot more strange things over the last few years. In response to the growing number of vigilantes patrolling the streets, and the rising occurrences of criminals demonstrating beyond-the-norm abilities, Metropolis City Mayor Frank Berkowitz grudgingly authorised the formation of a new division, the Special Crimes Unit. The Unit, originally a joke within the Metropolis Police Department, is now under the command of Captain Maggie Sawyer, a tough as nails woman who has walked the beat for many a year and developed a reputation as a person who knows how to gets things done, while being known for having a short temper when it comes to bureaucracy interfering with proper police work. Now drawn into the spotlight after a particularly media-sensitive case, the Unit will encounter not just problems dealing with the cases that come across her desk, the ones no-one else wants to investigate, but it will also deal with the usual friction between people when they first come together in a strange situation.

Vampire Diaries for me, is one of the shows I watch when it comes out on DVD - thats how I watched Season 1 and 2, and finally 3, although, like with Season 4, I read up weekely on the developments, so know all about Jeremy dying, Elena turning off her humanity, and Bonnie descending into darker magics. I originally liked Bonnie, but for me, she wasn't the same after Season 1 - she had the charm of being a novice witch at first, making mistakes, but then suddenly, she's Super-Witch out of nowhere. In Season 2, she annoyed me because she was all judgy about Caroline being a vampire and killing someone, having conviniently forgotten the only reason she WAS a vampire was because she was one of the ones arguing Damon should give her his blood! Season 3, she only got worse, when she got all whiny about Jeremy being haunted by his dead girlfriends - hello, woman, that's YOUR FAULT as well! How can you moan about his giving Anna a final kiss considering the way they were torn apart?! I honestly hope she moves onto the hereafter and finds peace, after they finally defeat Silas SOMEHOW, because I think she's done all she can, she was becoming TOO convinient. I'm also a little disappointed that they DIDN'T kill Katherine - I was hoping the show down would be something akin to the novels, where Elena sacrifices herself to destroy Katherine, but then they use the cure to save her from a final death. With Elena now a vampire, Katherine is a glimpse at just how far Elena herself might fall one day, so I suppose that's why they're keeping her around - plus the fact that Klaus now has ANOTHER doppleganger to fall back on (especially if "The Originals" doesn't last more then a single season, and they bring him back to the parent show), Katherine might find herself in quite a scary place.

ooooh!! so it's like Kyle is one of those cartoon characters with an angel on one shoulder (Chloe) and a devil on the over (Talia)... that will have some nice interplay between these two powerful female characters - here's hoping for a Chalia cat-fight!

Hi, knight, thanks for the comments, much appreciated In the original, 81-page version of the script, I did have a nice little scene between Danny and Maggie at a crime scene, that touched on the idea of what law enforcement saw Superman as, so I will hope to bring something similar back in later on in a later episode... but the main idea of the series is that is DOES focus on the 'little people' - towards the end of Smallville, we saw "The Blur" becoming more of a hero for the entire world, not just Metropolis, so it's my belief that Clark is out there in the great blue yonder looking out for natural disasters, or huge accidents, he's not so involved in the law enforcement side that someone like Green Arrow might, because he realises that people still need to believe that their local police can protect them. I love how everyone has responded to Wally - he was really fun to write, and I went in with the idea of both Abby from NCIS and a young Greg Saunders from CSI, but there will be later episodes that focus on his anxiety disorder, and his backstory with Bart Allen, provided it doesn't clash with preexisting plans for the character of The Flash either Chris or Jack might have. Danny will definately be explored in more detail and depth if the show gets picked up - I have an episode planned for him based on a "Gotham Central" graphic novel storyline, where it will show just how much shit he has had to put up with since his appearance in Smallville Season 8, and how working with Maggie will help him become a better cop.

yeah, Ms. Aimee suggested Celtx, to help with the format - I originally used Microsoft Works (my laptop's default word processing program), and I'm getting there with Celtx, but generally only after I've planned it all out in Works first As soon as weebly work again for me (lousy new internet connection!!!) I will put up the re-checked, hopefully FINAL version. EDIT: Script is now up, same earlier link still works.

WOW!! thanks Chris, your words means a lot!! Yeah, I'm terrible for typos, even with a spell check, and I've found I'm not the best to review my own work at times for that kind of thing, because even on the 2nd or 3rd read through, I miss them! The name switch, you're right about - if you read the original script, you'll remember it opened with a 'society ball' scene, and the original kidnapping victim was Vanessa Kapatelis. When I looked over the script after the initial submission and review, I saw how much of the opening was just a lot of waffle, that worked in the original prose outline, but not for a live-action story. Hence why I got rid of it completely, and went straight into the idea of LexCorp being targetted, and the switch to Tina McGee. I thought I'd gotten all of them, sorry! It's because many of the descriptions come from prose that they tend to be bulky, even after going through them to remove over explanation and redundant areas. The devil is in the details, and I've always respected that sentiment - I want to paint as accurate a picture as possible for 'viewers' so they can see it the way I see it in my head. Format wise, I have switched to Celtx, and an STILL trying to get a handle on it - im writing my audio series scripts in it for more practise, but with the screenplay setting, I'm still working out the kinks, so any advice on how to set it out as you say would be appreciated. As a EP on Watchtower, I'm also hoping my little mentions and hat-drops didn't escape notice

i am currently working on refining the pilot down from it's rather large 81 pages, but i would still like to hear what people thought of the story, and any suggestions on how I can streamline my descriptions would be appreciated.

I had a thought today - although many of us are CHLOLLIE fans, naturally, with the departure of Justin Hartley from the show, and the fact that, from what little info about Season 3 has been released, Bruce spends the last year looking for a way to resurrect Chloe, this year there will definately be a chance to explore some of the romantic and sexual tensions between the two leads. However, not only is Bruce mourning Chloe, but he's presumably also mourning the departure of Selina... and ADD TO THAT, the fact that this season introduces Talia Al Ghul, who in the comics was one of the MAJOR players in the love life of Batman AND Bruce Wayne. Bruce may play up the ladies man angle as part of his 'secret identity', but he's DEFINATELY going to have his hands full with femme fatales and love triangles this year... poor guy!!
