I'm liking this idea because for one, it is one of the more "original" pitches I've seen on the network, especially in the "drama" genre. Also, it's got some substance to it. I can see this sort of series making the reader ride an emotional rollercoaster, with happiness, grief and more emotion that can be reached in each episode. I like your initial set up. The idea of a plain man, being given the opportunity of a life time and after setting out on an amazing journey, he begins to discover himself in a way he never imagined. It's a very strong idea. Something I appreciate.
Your casting choices are great. They look great together. I particularly love that you cast Joseph Gordon Levitt! Nice choice there. Also, the episodes are quite refreshing. Each of them have a purpose to serve and I cannot wait to find out what that purpose is, if and when this show is picked up. *Crosses fingers*
I'm looking forward to reading the first episode! You've got gold here, trust me.

This reminds me of the movie The Ultimate Gift, which I absolutely loved!

I quite love this, especially because of the fact that I've never read a pitch like this before. This has the potential to be a long running series. At a first glance, I questioned the longevity of a show like this, and thought it would be better suited for a mini series or even a movie -- But, after completing the pitch, I can definitely see this storyline running for a few more seasons after the first, if you stick to this story structure.
Like Jason said, excellent cast. I love how it revolves almost entirely on your main lead, with the two other characters are minor support (giving that the two only appear in a few episodes of the lot)
I'm looking forward to reading the pilot episode! Good luck with this project, it's amazing so far.

UPDATE:
The Teaser for the Pilot Episode has been written, along with almost the entirety of Episode One, all there is left to do is format, ensure that my astigmatism hasn't left any spacing out, and then send it your way. Me and my best friend Megan (Other than Aimee XD) have been adding new little tid bits here and there that are really making this piece come together. ^^
I expect to be finished with Episodes 1-5 by the end of the month and then send the finished copy of episode 1 to ya'll. :3

Wow, I enjoyed your teaser immensely. I'm not sure if i missed this or not but it seems like it takes place towards the middle or end of the story. I'm interested in finding out how Teddy goes from Harley's to Henry's charge, although as a viewer, i might be reading too much into it ^^;. Anyway, I am so excited for your show! Your writing style is so unique and your attention to detail superb. It makes reading your script seem like I'm watching the film reel in my head. I can't wait for episode one!! Keep it up!!

Aww! Thank you Squinty! You are so awesome. I appreciate your support.
UPDATE: I FINALLY finished the episode. 78 pages of pure gold. XD Now I just think I need to ensure I got my camera angles correct before I send it and look like a retard. So, I am sending it to all the show runners on Thursday. Thanks for the support. ^^

Sorry I did not respond earlier Chris. But I wanted to say that I appreciate your kind words. I have something to admit. I have three episodes already written. Had them written since my last post, but with my lack of self esteem, I cowered away from turning them in. I suppose the idea of rejection sort of.. kept me away. Writing is my life. But you have sparked a small flicker of confidence, so that I may click send on the pilot episode. And I thank you for that. It was kinda like.. I was stuck under water and the first hand to finally reach down and pull me up so I can breath.

I'm glad you've found the confidence to send the pilot. I know showing others your work can be intense; you never know what they'll think of it. But whether they praise and/or criticize anything that any writer creates, it all helps us improve in the long run.
I really love this idea, whether it could be a full season series, or a miniseries, I believe it has the potential to be something very special and unique. I always appreciate when a writer pitches a series with a sort of inspirational vibe. That's what I see here, and I've always been a fan of reading/watching things where I really experience the characters' journey. Just by reading the episode summaries, I can see how deep we'd be able to go into Henry's life, and I'm looking forward to that.
I really hope you send the script, whenever you feel it's ready. It's one among the few pilots I'm really looking forward to reading.

I'm glad you got the courage to send in your pilot Monica. I know it was hard on me sending mine in and it IS a scary thing, but YAY FOR YOU!

I like this, really really good pitch, orginal and thought provoking. As a question: was "My Name is Earl" any bearing on the idea? would read this when it is out.

XD You know, someone else asked me that not that long ago. Though the premises show similarities in that both Earl and Henry are trying to do right for an ultimate prosperous goal, all the while learning valuable intel on life. I retrospect that it might have played an impact on the subconscious level, but it was not a direct source of inspiration. But as I love that show, if you find a connection between the two that makes Carry Me Home more enjoyable, then I greatly welcome it. :3

I thank you much for the support. :3 I am currently editing the episode I wrote a few months ago. XD (As in the previous posts, stated I was too nervous to pitch it) With all the recent support, I have been given the courage I need. Just need to get past the whole, editing thing.
Thanks again. I really, REALLY appreciate it. You really have no idea how much. <3
