A thread for you to discuss all those projects you started up, then abandoned. Perhaps you'll get back to them one day or another.

1. Construct A mystery/science fiction drama about the survivors of a global apocalypse, as they live without shelter, little food & water, while being stalked by savages that were once humans. Meanwhile, the governments of the world have built massive facilities dubbed "Constructs" in every major city, that would provide and endless amount of comfort for mankind, but only a few gained access. This is the story of the ones still on the outside.
Trust me, I have plenty more, but this was the first.

I'm probably the King of Abandoned Projects. Here are a few of my favorite ones. 1. Gifted I don't know if I'd call this "abandoned" because there's still something in my heart telling me I should continue on with this show... but I suspect it's only false hope. Anyways, Gifted was my very first virtual series, and it followed two witches, set in the Charmed universe, where the Halliwell line has been wiped out, and they're the only ones who can restore balance to a demon controlled world. 2. The Broken Mirror Science fiction thriller following a group of explorers who stumble upon a planet resembling Earth, where they are forced, by a brutal alien race, to becomes slaves. It would have been a tale of resistance, and eventually, uprising. 3. Screenwriter's Paradise Dramedy about two aspiring scriptwriters trying to make a name for themselves in Los Angeles, while dealing with the temptations that go along with their new lives and environment. 4. Dollhouse (Virtual Continuation) Continuation of the Joss Whedon "almost-masterpiece." Jack Malone and I were going to start where he left off, and continue the mystery of the Dollhouse. This is a project I can really say that I wish happened. 5. Anora Another show to be penned by Jack and I. This was would have been an epic fantasy tale of a powerful, god-like "Anora" who after losing all of her memories, attempts to once again become the heroine the world has claimed her of being. A mixture of Xena: Warrior Princess and Legend of the Seeker. There are LOADS more... trust me. I don't know... maybe I'll get to do at least one of the projects on this list one day. Doubt it though.

Heh, I'm pretty good at abandoning projects though it's usually fanfic, not virtual series. Of virtual series I've developed there was only one I kinda dropped but that was in favour of working on it as a novel instead: 1. Welcome to the Snake PitA drama/comedy about a teenage boy named Dave who has four people only he can hear and see that follow him around. They make his life hell and on occasion influence his actions and get him into funny/dangerous/embarrassing situations and then leave him to deal with it. It focussed on Dave trying to live a normal life and keeping the fact that he can see four people nobody else can a secret, worried if others find out they will only confirm his fears that he's going insane. I still really love this idea

Imprisonment
A anthology type series about the inmates of a prison and the crimes they committed that got them locked up. Each episode would focus on a different inmate and show the series of events that led him to being arrested.
May still do this one day, I just need to work on my characterization skills quite a bit first.
The Killing Streets
A crime drama set in a crime ridden city. A soldier, Dominic, returns home from war to see the streets littered with drug dealers and junkies and so takes it upon himself to clean the streets up - one body at a time. Meanwhile, a drug lord takes it upon himself to go to war with the largest kingpin in the city. All the while, Dominics's cop sister and her partner are thrown into the middle of the rising bodies and increasing violence on the killing streets.
This is exactly the kind of show I would love to do. Only problem is its basically The Wire meets Dexter.
Blood Money
A Supernatural spin-off revolving around Kristen Talbot (Rebecca Mader), a treasure hunter of sorts, she, along with best friend Quinn Kennedy (Dominic Monagahn) and a mysterious and sly man (David Anders), goes around the globe collecting mystical items.
I had a MASSIVE mythology worked out for this. MASSIVE. Then Supernatural season 7 started and stole the Leviathans from me. I could likely still get it to work but it'd need a huge overwork. And yes, the name Talbot was used deliberately.
Untitled Superhero Police Series
It has been discovered that all throughout the world there are people with abilities. Some of these people are within the police force.
A police chief creates a special team, consisting of these people and throwing them into the most crime ridden and dangerous district in Los Angeles.
The team itself would be full of conflict as they fight amongst each other some trying to use their powers to their advantages, scaring suspects into giving confessions or plain enacting their own form of justice while others refuse to use their powers and try to act like normal cops.
This was basically gonna be X-Men meets The Shield. The main character himself was gonna be a more manipulative version of Vic Mackey, who would go around and use his powers for his own gain. I loved this idea, so I may get around to it one day.
Reign In Blood
Set in a fantasy/sci-fi type world, Vampire rule the world in 12 cities with domes that protect them from the harmful rays of sunlight.
In one city, a Vampire Lord sentences his daughter, Kyra, to a century within the Tomb, the prison for vampires, for the crime of fornication with a werewolf. His other daughter, Sonja, begins plotting with Kyra's wolf lover to break her out of the Tomb.
Meanwhile, the Vampire Lord begins creating dissent and tension between his city and the rest as he amasses an army and creates secret alliances as he sets his sight on the ultimate goal: becoming the King of the 12 cities.
I have got a TON of lore written out for this, ranging from society and its functions, the roles of vampires, werewolves and humans, the ghouls (Vampire who feed on one another) and the Lycans (They're much larger and more vicious than werewolves), and a whole new religion, including bits of its own bible.
I did alot of work on this, so it may appear one day in novel form or something of the like.
The Leviathans Jaw
On the edge of the galaxy, a border planet is invaded by a vicious and bloodthirsty alien race that kills every living thing in sight.
A small group of people escape on a trading vessel, only to find themselves caught between the vicious alien race named the "Leviathans" and the Empire which has warrants out for close to every single person on the trading vessel.
Just a little sci-fi show I came up with while watching Firefly. I had the entire cast casted even though I knew next to nothing about the characters, including their names.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Virtual Continuation
Set directly after the season 2 finale, it would follow John Connor as he travelled into the future after Cameron, while Sarah Connor would be left in the past fighting to stop the apocalyptic future from ever happening.
This would've only lasted a single season as I had a good idea on how to wrap it up. I have a bit of this written, a few scenes, a few bits of dialogue. I had quite a bit planned for it, but I doubt any of it will come to light now, I suppose.
Believe me, I have quite a few more undeveloped VS ideas, with more appearing in my brain every day. I am just one person, however, one person with a time consuming job now. I love every single one of these ideas, but I doubt they will ever happen. And if they do, it'd likely be in novel form.

Carey all these ideas sound fantastic! I really like the Reign In Blood, especially how ghouls are vampires feeding off of vampires. That's amazing! Seriously.

Oh this is a list! Ahahah 1. V.A.M.P I would say this is the worst series I have ever written. It only got 6 episodes aired and I have to say, looking back. They all sucked. Like the episodes didn't flow or anything. So I have to say this is abandoned as well but also cancelled and I am damn happy it's still cancelled. 2. Epitaphs I remember this was before Season 2 of Dollhouse started up, Chris and I planned this all out and got plots from start to finish. And even some of our ideas I did see in Dollhouse like Topher dying but in ours, he was already dead. But yeah! This never happened...but it was pitched I think... 3. Echo My lame attempt at a Dollhouse continuation. Didn't work out. Didn't do it. End of story. 4. The Protectors My third show on the VPN, I had it planned for about a year and then it got picked up and written. And as I wrote it, it got jumbled and even I got confused. And I also wanted to focus on the Path and I said just cancel it please. 5. Origins A VAMP remake...never did...never finished. It's dead and gone! 6. The Path Not Taken (The Original Story) The Path was not always the Path you guys know and love today...it was a show that the only things that stayed the same were Jessica Alba, Jenny's Name, and the plot about Second Chances. Everything else went into the trash bin and look at the Path now! Here's the Original pitch! (It took forever to find and it's also the FIRST VPN FOURM. Trips down Memory lane lol) virtual-productions.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=386I have a lot more but they all are just really bad to even bring up

I got an idea for a TV series today as I was on my way home from class via train. I realize this idea is fresh, but I decided to put it in here because I've already abandoned it. HAHA! Just thought I'd share my idea, cause I think it's pretty cool, though I may be wrong.
The show would follow a group of, essentially, dead people/spirits, trapped in a Limbo state, waiting to be judged. Anyway, we'd follow this group, as they are riding on a train, which seemingly, never ends. Each time the train stops, the passengers must leave the train, and venture off into whatever destination the train has taken them. They explore through different times, and terrains, and are faced with strange tasks and are put through very unique and revealing situations - all of which serve a higher purpose in where they will go once they've faced judgement. The train will stand still for a three days after the passengers have left and if the passengers are not back on board before their time is up, the train will leave them behind.
I could see this show being a Epic Fantasy Adventure kind of show, with elements of mystery threaded throughout. So yes, that was my idea of the day.

Chris! That is really good! I would definitely read that
1. Loud Whispers
Looking back at this is so cringe-worthy. It was my first try at a virtual series and you can see the pitch in archived pitches (although the pictures have been taken down).
It was really cliche and the plot was basically just a girl who had an accident, and somehow ended up receiving psychic powers with no decent explanation. She had two friends who knew her secret and basically, the arcs were all over the place. There was no character development and it was a mix between an ongoing feud with an evil classmate/psychic and a batty professor trying to prove psychics exist. There were also random "psychic-of-the-week" episodes in the middle for fillers to reach a 15 episode count. I'm glad to say this has ended.
2. Flawed
I actually really loved this idea and after I lost motivation, I tried to write it as a novel for a while. I had such a large mythology planned out for and the world was really developed. I just didn't put any of this into the pitch and kind of lost hope.
It was a sci-fi miniseries that I had planned to be continuous. It was in a world where a large number of people were mysteriously abducted and the government put their trust in a young man who had discovered how to clone. They would track people all over the world, and replace them with a clone so no one would know no different. A selfish woman in Beverley Hills disappeared after leaving her niece's party, and the government created her a clone. However this clone was different from the others, it was "flawed" and had its own sense of humanity and morality. It broke out and went on the run from the government, taking up a new identity, before working for this government agency and trying to take it down from the inside. There was also an underground society that did the same thing that the clone was trying to do, but it was portrayed that their sense of justice was twisted as well. The woman's niece would eventually run away and join this group, the clone having to hide from her. At the end of the first series, I had also planned this scene where the professor who invented cloning was murdered, whilst trying to kill the clone and it would be revealed that the woman who was abducted was the killer.
I may continue this one day, who knows. This is in the Archived Pitches as well.
3. Hex'd
God, I'm not even going to waste time explaining this. It was a poor, horrible, idea about a teenage half-demon who thinks she is a good demon but it turns out she wasn't. That was it, no other characters, plot, development, even an enemy. So glad, I gave up on it.
4. Lunatics
I gave up on this today, basically it was a mature series about mermaids, who turned into beast-like creatures when under strong emotions or on the full moon. I had a MASSIVE mermaid mythology which was completely re-tooled. There were four mermaids and they were trying to get along in life, but their mermaid-selves got in the way in some aspect. I even had some of the characters planned out, arcs and casted.
I just lost motivation on this and just don't have enough time, and figured even though the vs was supposed to be mature, the mermaid element I had still remained cheesy no matter how much I played with it.

Not really abandoned... just, on hold maybe lol Sleepwalkers
In the not too distant future, an ex-cop finds himself being assigned to a special Government agency codenamed 'Sleepwalkers'. There, he discovers that the recent dead can be re-animated for a period of 24 hours in order to help solve their own murders. The Agents are assigned as Guardians to protect and unravel the last moments of the victims life before time is over and they are finally laid to rest......
===================================================
Fairy Tales
Alexa Hargreaves investigates the strange and writes up her findings in a blog which has gained a cult following that she has labelled 'Fairy Tales'. She travels around the world, finding herself caught up in a world that few want to believe, and others find themselves caught up in. All the while, searching for answers to her own past and the truth about her family who went missing years ago. She finds herself assisted by a mysterious stranger who assigns her cases to investigate by e-mails to her inbox in the hope of helping her uncover the truth about herself.
Each episode would be based roughly on a Fairy Tale poem/story etc. Ideas below of first 5 I had ideas of:
Episode 1: Huff! Based on 'Three Little Pigs' by James Orchard Halliwell-Phillipps
Blogger Alexa Hargreaves receives an annonymous e-mail which sends her to investigate two innocent young girls who both have been attacked by seemingly the same mysterious assailant. Digging deeper into the case, she uncovers that the two were originally three - seperated at birth and now someone.... or something is intent on killing all three.
Episode 2: Spirits! Based Upon 'The Spirit In The Bottle' by Brothers Grimm
A down on his luck homeless alcoholic discovers a bottle in which a spirit is freed once he opens it, offering him wonders in return for allowing him to be free from his prison. As Alexa invesitgates she discovers that each new wish the man receives has repurcussions upon others close by and sets out to put the spirit back where he belongs.
Episode 3: Sleepyheads! Based Upon 'The Nightingale' by Hans Christian Andersen
A young beautiful woman seems to have the voice of an Angel, singing and sending those around her into a mezmerizing state of unconscioussness. When a man discovers her talent, he kidnaps her and uses her for his own advantages of doing daring bank robberies in which everyone is found asleep and unable to remember what happened. Alexa searches for a way to the catch the modern day bonnie and clyde, in hope of helping the Angelic girl.
Episode 4: Scar! Based Upon 'The Ugly Duckling' by Hans Christian Andersen
A child is born with a disability to his body so horrendous that his parents shun and discard him from their lives. Years later, he returns with a vengeance and a new appearance in hope of exacting revenge on his parents for the treatment placed upon him. Alexa steps in and tries to stop him before he commits the ultimate sacrifice of murder.
Episode 5: The Animal Within! Based Upon 'The Bear' by Andrew Lang
Alexa receives reports of some form of animal attack and goes to investigate. As she tracks down the animal in question, she uncovers a secret of a family legend where human becomes creature and tries to break the curse before the creature is tracked down and killed by hunters.

I know Chris believes he is the king of "Abandoned Projects" I believe I tie him or at least come to a very close second. 1. Connor Connor was the first series I had ever done, alone. It had aired it's first six episodes, though never managed to keep up with ratings. All though after talks with Jack and Chris who were pushing me to either finish the current series or reboot it, I had lost inspiration and the series became my first "abandoned project" 2. Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles [Virtual Continuation]Something that Chris and I had planned to write together, we were very dissapointed with Fox's derision to cancel the series, we had planned to give the show a slightly new narrative. Having one episode focus on John, Cameron/Alison, Weaver and Derek in the "future" than have the next focus on Sarah and Ellis, in present day. we or at least I eventually faced a confidence issue and became concerned we weren't smart enough to come up with all technology or have it all at the very least make sense and after the series eventually crumbled. 3. Amazing Spider-ManAll though not comepltly abandoned this idea is still slowly being developed, the problem was timing I had taken far to long to put up a pitch and eventually Outcast was picked up. The story would begin with Peter in high school and his supporting characters would be Flash, Gwen and Felicia Hardy (who would be a peer at his school). I had also fallen in love with the cast as well. Dylan O'Brien was perfect for the role of Peter Parker. Candice Accola was going to play Gwen Stacey. Phoebe Tonkin was going to be Felicia Hardy Moira Kelly would of played Aunt May Parker Dennis Quad was going to be Captain George Stacey and Julian McMahon would play Norman Osborne. Harry, M.J, Matt Murdock and even Tony Stark would of found there way to the series. I havent given up hope on this series yet maybe one day, long after the Outcast is finished this series will finds way to VPN
