That is so awesome!! I love it! ;D many thanks, although I think this one might change a little, not too happy with the face she's pulling in the first clip, might swap it for a clip of Tess M being gun-happy, that's more detective-y

The Super Teens - Super Start Part One REVIEWHi Brady, I've gotten around to reading this finally so sorry for being late with a review (which reminds me I REALLY need to review the second episode of Audition ). I'm reviewing this as I read it so sorry if it some things I point out might later be addressed. TeaserOoh I really like the introduction of scenery before the out-of-the-blue chase. It really hooks you in. The shadowed figured seems really interesting and mysterious already so kudos for that, you do a really good job at keeping her identity hidden as I see the certain shots in my mind. Your writing is descriptive but without too much that it seems like a novel. In the Investigation, despite it being so short, I really like the character of Detective Ashlock and I could really see Cassidy Freeman as her, so excellent choice and portrayal there. Excellent descriptions of the triplets here in the next scene, and oh man is Janice a bitch. I don't know if that was intended, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad thing, as it's always good to have characters that aren't 100% nice and good, and have their flaws. Right, this might just be me missing something, but I think you said earlier that they were walking but here the script says that Sara picks up her bag. Sorry if I missed something. Woah, the earthquake part here is just amazing I can't fault it. It's very exciting and through minor actions you show more of the personalities of the characters. I need to carry on to Act One! Act OneAlthough the death of Frank doesn't fully hit home, because we haven't got to know him. However, the fact you included the flashbacks does help to understand the loss to Janice and I found myself smiling at both of them. Great job at the showing the relationship of the Knox family as Janice arrives home. Whilst I understand this quote, it's just a little hard to wrap my head around and a tiny bit clunky. I think its just the double use of just so quickly. Sorry for being picky here But on the whole so far, I love your speech, it seems really natural and flows really well . Okay so in the scene where Sara and Janice talk, I see a little bit more of Janice as she 'melts' and that she isn't just a bitch and a one-dimensional character, which is ALWAYS GOOD. The relationship between the two here is also shown to be caring, despite their fighting which is really sweet. Now the power scene here now is interesting, as it is descriptive enough and doesn't feel out of the blue. Debbie's reaction is hilarious. Now this line in the midst of the confusion between Clark and Sara made me crack up ;D Great execution too and it didn't feel like it was just chucked in there. Some of Janice's one-liners are amazing and I hope she has plenty more. Now the end of this act here though, does seem a little rushed to get all of the powers introduced before the action starts. However, I do admit Clark's power introduction was the best and I really liked Debbie's reaction to it. Act TwoThe News scene is really exciting and I understand Jonathan's motive clearly. What I'm assuming is Audrey's death, also highlights the seriousness of the episode and show. The Dream scene is both unnerving and exciting, I can't decide weather or not I hope its a premonition of what's to come. I like the urgency next with the scene of Janice running away, showing the true bond between them all, and how the plot flows clearly. Act ThreeAnother nice flashback here, and its making me sympathise with Janice more each time. The fight scene about to begin here seems exciting but I just can't help but feel its a little out of the blue. However, as is to be expected with a series like this, I assume there will be many fight scenes and this one shows how well you can write them. Also I like the point demonstrated by Clark about controlling their powers, and it was really thought provoking, proving that having the powers isn't so straightforward. I Like the Old Woman in the park. She seems really nice and interesting, and though maybe it's a longshot, it would be really nice if she cropped up again in some form or another. The scene with Sara and Clark practicing their powers was also really well written and interesting, especially the part about the triggers. Act FourThe thug scene here is really exciting and a change of pace, again it also highlights the seriousness of the show. Again, I like the use of the triggers to control the powers, it reminds me slightly of Charmed. I like the reaction to the attack afterwards because its really natural and human, reminding the reader that just because they have superpowers doesn't make the triplets courageous superheroes already. And the triplets are reunited! Although Sara's reaction to Janice calling Clark was interesting highlighting how much she wants to get along with her sister. Act FiveAn interesting conclusion here, and the end really makes me want to the read the next part as soon as possible! Overall I really enjoyed the episode, which suprised me since originally, I have to admit, the slightly cheesy name of the show and the name Upsville put me off a bit. But all my worries have been disproved and I really enjoyed reading this episode! Minus the things I pointed out and a few SPAG issues, I couldn't fault anything with the episode and hope the rest can live up to it! ;D Rating: 8/10

RESPONSE: Connor J.J.'s Review of 1.01 "Super Start Part 1"
Thanks so much for the review, Connor! This was a real surprise and it's really great to know that you enjoyed it! This seriously made my day! XD Now, onto the reply:
I'm really glad the opening scene hooked you in, because it took me the longest time for me to figure out how to open this episode up! haha The Figure will serve as the main antagonist for most of the first season, and she will stay mysterious, no doubt! XD And her identity will be revealed in the seventh episode where she has a big plan for the Knox triplets. haha!
Detective Ashlock is a really needs-to-know-the-truth type of person. That's what her entire storyline this season is- to find answers. She takes a trip to the Knox household in the next episode, where some she may discover their hiding something. XD But you never know, so... haha, I kid, I kid.
Thanks for the compliment on the description! I feel like my writing has definitely improved with the ongoing episodes, so hopefully you think so too!
Janice was not always a bitter character, but her and her sister's bickering it was triggered it. And she becomes even more bitter especially after Frank's death.
Hehe.. Earthquake... Fault... Anyway, I'm glad you liked that scene! Bright Day was never originally the way I had it going, but when it suddenly came to light, I just had to make it the catalyst that sets this whole series into motion. I just loved it that much! XD
I'm really glad you didn't totally hate the flashbacks. I will admit though, I think I went a little flashback crazy, and way more than I should have. XD But the only reason I threw them in there, was to show that it was such a huge loss for Janice, and I'm glad you thought the same!
I've never been the best with SPAG, I'll admit. It probably would have been a lot worse if MJ hadn't been nice enough to edit this episode for me. And now I have Darrin, so if you see any more SPAG issues... You'll see a new position opening for TST producer. XD JK JK
The relationship between Janice and Sara starts off to a really rocky start, like I said. Clark is the mediator, and he gets really fed up with it in the next episode. So look out for that!
I'm glad you had some laughs with Debbie! Always great to hear. XD
I trudged on into Act 1, fully knowing that I needed to introduce the powers by the end of it. So maybe that's why it felt rushed? I can never really tell when I'm rushing something. Hopefully it won't happen again! haha
Audrey didn't die. haha! Sorry if you were hoping for that. XD But no, Jonathan is the big bad of the two part premiere, and is, for the lack of a better word, insane. He really proves to be a challenge for the Knox triplets.
There's a least one or two fight scenes in every episode, even though I'm always nervous about writing them. XD My favorite one is either in the next episode or the one in the season finale. But anyways, Upsville is a very bad place. Very bad place indeed. XD
Like I said above, Clark is very much mature for his age, especially in these first two episodes. He really thinks first and then goes ahead and acts. So it was fitting to have him say, "guys, we should probably control these."
The Old Woman won't appear again, sorry to say. XD
I never wanted this show to be "full on seriousness". I wanted it to be "a family drama/comedy/action/sci-fi" type of thing. XD I know, confusing. But anyways, seriousness is something I'm okay with! I don't really want it to be that depressing. haha
Despite having an entire city gain superpowers, I wanted this show to remain sorta realistic. So I always ask myself what would happen if I blah, blah, blah (insert horrific incident here). So getting a compliment about that is great!
Thanks again for the review, Connor! I'm really glad you enjoyed this and hope you'll be able to read some more of the show! The title, I knew, would always be a risk. I knew it would come off as "cheesy" and "childish", but it had always been the title from the original idea, and I just couldn't change it. So, I'm glad you were able to look past it! Thanks again, Connor! (Wow, didn't know I had written so much.)

Episode 101 - I really have to say that this was quite a surprise at the beginning. I thought maybe I wasn't going to like it completely because it took me like 3 times of starting this to stay focused enough to read it. And I must say that my overall feeling on the show is that...I will have to read a few more episodes. I like the premise of the three kids getting powers on this "Bright Day" event, and I like the powers and such. I like the fact that there's a continuing arc through all the episodes (hopefully of course I just started).
The "Event" at the beginning of the episode was a good start but not good for Janice (of course). I did like how you continued the episode forward but kept going back in flashbacks to build the emotion between Janice and Frank.
The whole mysterious woman thing (hmm) I have to consider possibly that maybe she has something to do with with the Bright Day or will be the Knox's biggest threat and villain against their new found (you know what. *cough*). I hope that (not that I want to see good people hurt and in pain) we don't see a bunch of good people powering through their villains and problems and they don't find it difficult at times even though they have their special powers.
All the characters are intriguing but like I said I almost have to see a second episode! I think it's going to be a cool ride and I hope to stay with it!
It's a good show idea don't get me wrong! Anyways, on to the next!!
6/10 - good and I hope to bring the rating up higher in the next episode!

RESPONSE: Andrew Bishop's Review of 1.01 "Super Start Part 1"
Thanks for the review, Andrew! It's great to have some feedback on the show, so it's great to hear from you!
I do hope you start enjoying the series. To me, the second episode is better than the first, and I think towards the end, they get a lot better. But anyways, I was glad you were surprised! XD And to hear that you did indeed enjoy the first episode, even if you didn't necessarily love it.
Bright Day was never in the original plan, but I thought of it one day, and just had to put it in there. XD And I'm glad you liked it! Always great to hear.
The "figure" at the beginning is the main antagonist for the show- well, some of the show- because there will be other villains along the way as well, but for now, she's the main baddie, haha. She comes into contact with the Knox's on more than one occasion, so I hope you enjoy that as well. And they will definitely find adjusting to their new powers and having to fight several villains is difficult. No worries there. XD
I do hope you enjoy the characters if you continue reading!
Thanks again for the review, Andrew! And if you do continue, I hope you enjoy the rest of the episodes!

The Super Teens returns in exactly 2 weeks! I mean... there's going to be like... fighting, and explosions, and stuff... of that similar nature. Ya see? But no, IT SHALL BE ADEQUATELY BETTER THAN WATCHING FUNNY CAT VIDEOS. Okay, let's be serious. Nothing beats funny cat videos.

Only have had time to read the first episode (the two-parter), but I was extremely impressed. I saw the pitch for this show when it was first put up and was really intrigued at the sound of it. By the script, every detail can be imagined which makes it feel much more realistic and I can easily say it feels like it could be a real show on air. Having only read these two episodes, there's a lot I don't know but I like the dynamic between the three siblings. It's good to start off with a rift between the two girls because that's completely natural to real life and adds a sense of drama. The fact that their brother is the referee is even better, and I can see how that would cause future problems for him because of his position as being the one to stop the fighting in the family. I wonder if he has to repress his emotions to be this mature figure for his immature sisters.

Hey! It's always glad to see new readers jump into the mix! XD This was a real nice surprise to find! Thanks for reading, and I'm so excited you enjoyed it! Thanks for the compliment on the visualization, because that's always a must with a writer, for me anyways, haha. Also happy you enjoy the Knox triplets. And while they won't necessarily be in the argumentative state they were in in the first two episodes, there will be obstacles in the way. In the initial concept, Janice and Sara were always meant to be fighting when the series opened up, so I'm glad that part has gotten positive feedback! Clark's emotions, while not just being about his sisters, really blow up in 1.07 Super Reveal. Hopefully, if you stick around and read to that, you'll enjoy it! Again, thanks for reading! It really means a lot.

THE NAME Now, in an attempt to ease my way back into theVPN, I've decided that I should post this, being that it's been on my mind for a while. Now, please do not feel like I am angry, or attacking anyone by making this post, because trust me, I'm not. Anyways, to the point. I've come to realize that "The Super Teens" is not necessarily the best title for a series to have, and I've also figured out that it's a reason why this show has not been the most "popular" among everything else on the site. I know people find it "corny" and "cartoon-ish," and think it should be altered. I also know that, at first glance, people may think that the title reflects the series in a "childish way," which I expected from the beginning. But, to me, I feel like that's unfair. For example, let's take "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which, in my opinion, is very similar to the topic I am discussing now. This title is extremely to the point. "The Super Teens" is also very to the point, and can also be considered corny. Now, with that being said, I know that Buffy has been categorized as a favorite among more than half of theVPN. This titles are similar. Both are extremely to the point. Yes, I know that watching something for an hour and reading a 50 page script are two completely different things, but what I'm trying to say is that I don't think people need to "judge a book by its cover," if that makes any sense. No, this is not an attempt to scrape in reviews, because I'm super thankful that this is even on the lineup. What I'm trying to do is clarify that yes, this title is corny, which does not even remotely describe the series, in my opinion. It's about super teens, and action galore! All I'm asking is that this be judged like any other drama on this site, or any drama that would be on TV. Hopefully you guys understand what I mean, and again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone or made anyone angry, but this has been on my mind for a while, but just a couple of days ago work up the courage to type it up. Thanks again guys!

wow, no one has commented in this thread since May?! Let us correct that oversight!
The Super Teens, for me, is something of a guilty pleasure - I mean that as a compliment, Brady! Programs like Trinity and Watchtower, they have an established genre and backstory, coming from the Smallville universe, whereas TST strives to make it's own mark as part of the 'main line up' of the VPN. I think it has succeeded, because I read every episode of the 2nd half of the season as it was released, EXCEPT for the 2-part finale, which was spread over a three-week period because of Brady not having access to the Internet. I did this because I knew I would much rather not see how it 'cliffhangered' to lead into part 2, but rather read it all in one go! Without giving too much away for those who haven't read it, the finale really delivers action, emotion and a lot of secrets coming to the fore and being exposed. If TST comes back for a second season, though, Brady, I hope you take the opportunity to clear away some of the dead weight - you talked about in reply to one review that the show is about family, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the Knox', and I personally feel that with them constantly turning to the Uscios (sp?), they are getting things a little too easily, and it takes away from the main characters being developed - the only real member of that family I like is Mrs. Uscio, and that's only because of her past with "Chosen", but even then, they don't really feel like proper characters to me, yet, just foils, as it were. I am looking forward to seeing how the knowledge of the family secret will change the dynamic with Lucy, Fred and Heather, not to mention Jade, and where Debbie's storyline will go after (SPOILERS) that cliffhanger...
