wow, no one has commented in this thread since May?! Let us correct that oversight! The Super Teens, for me, is something of a guilty pleasure - I mean that as a compliment, Brady! Programs like Trinity and Watchtower, they have an established genre and backstory, coming from the Smallville universe, whereas TST strives to make it's own mark as part of the 'main line up' of the VPN. I think it has succeeded, because I read every episode of the 2nd half of the season as it was released, EXCEPT for the 2-part finale, which was spread over a three-week period because of Brady not having access to the Internet. I did this because I knew I would much rather not see how it 'cliffhangered' to lead into part 2, but rather read it all in one go! Without giving too much away for those who haven't read it, the finale really delivers action, emotion and a lot of secrets coming to the fore and being exposed. If TST comes back for a second season, though, Brady, I hope you take the opportunity to clear away some of the dead weight - you talked about in reply to one review that the show is about family, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the Knox', and I personally feel that with them constantly turning to the Uscios (sp?), they are getting things a little too easily, and it takes away from the main characters being developed - the only real member of that family I like is Mrs. Uscio, and that's only because of her past with "Chosen", but even then, they don't really feel like proper characters to me, yet, just foils, as it were. I am looking forward to seeing how the knowledge of the family secret will change the dynamic with Lucy, Fred and Heather, not to mention Jade, and where Debbie's storyline will go after (SPOILERS) that cliffhanger... Thanks for the feedback, Alex! It's really great to hear that you're enjoying the show, even if it is just a guilty pleasure, haha. I really love creating my own world and characters, which is why my original projects tends to be the ones I focus on the most, and it's great knowing that people can really enjoy it, even if it's not a part of an established mythology, if that makes any sense. xD I really loved writing the two part finale, especially the final two cliffhanger scenes, lol. Smart reading them both in one go, I guess! I really wanted the season to go out with a bang, delivering a lot of action and emotion and even some reveals, all of which you listed. xD I really wanted to have all of the Bright Day questions answered, as to why it was done, who did it, and who helped the process. The whole "alien" aspect will still be touched on in the future, but it will definitely be a little while down the road. The show is indeed about family, probably the strongest aspect of it, in my opinion. It really shines through in the next season, which brings me to your complaints on the Uucsio's. I can see how they could be viewed as dead weight to the show. As for the Knox's turning to them when they need help, I look at it the way Clark always turned to Chloe when he needed help, thus causing her to go and hack the nearest database. I get a lot of inspiration from Smallville, which is why I chose that example, lol. To me, they definitely grow in the second season, because they step up as the parenting figures for the Knox's, with Debbie in her current situation, and it really shows their true friendship. Lucy, Fred, and Heather really don't know what to do with this new information, whereas Det. Ashlock really wants to help in any way she can, seeing as how she's been craving this information since the get-go. And through Debbie, we get to see Chosen and just how it operates, and she meets someone in the facility that really helps her push through and fight to escape and get back to her family. Thanks again, Alex! It's really great to know you've been enjoying the show, and hopefully you enjoy the next season!

Episode 102 - Well I'm finally back at it. I really enjoy reading this show because it's easy to get into. The characters are well put togeter and intriguing. I hope to "one day" be able to entertain people and that someonen could get excited about.
I can feel for the siblings because they didn't ask for this to happen and now they are just learning what is going on. When they visited the doctor and discovered the "Yellow" stuff that was quite interesting. You have to wonder then where "Bright Day" came from? Did it come from the government as Jonathan believes or did it come from other places?
The battle between the kids and Jonathan really was good. I like it when the super heroes don't have it easy all the time. Anyways, good job on that.
Now the new information that we got about Frank...That will be interesting to see how that turns out.
Again, not the best reviewer but I like to at least let you know that I'm checking it out.

Welcome back, Andrew! Great to know you're still reading and enjoying the series. I really try to focus on my characters and make them stand out, and intriguing like you said lol, so it's great to know that you're enjoying them as well. And practice makes perfect, I always say! One of my main goals with writing the premiere, was that I wanted to make the Knox's reaction realistic, even if this event is not realistic by any means. xD You're right, they didn't ask for it to happen, but once they realize they're stuck with them, they're going to try their best to do what's right. The reasoning behind the yellow blood will be revealed in the season finale, along with the reason Bright Day was created. Sorry to make you wait so long, lol, but hopefully you'll enjoy it. Franks's murder will also be explained later, hahaha. Really glad you enjoyed this episode, Andrew! It's really great to hear your thoughts, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the season!

Episode 103 - I'm a roll today! I can honestly say that it's like being off of work (which I'm not, lol) and sitting back and watching your favorite tv show all day. I would definitely like to see this on on tv some day (wink). When you become famous - do this one first! It seems like every show out there does this episode! You have the nerdy kid that wants the attention of some girl and he puts together some potion that gets them to notice them, but it backfires when she is interested in every guy that walks by. I also like the description of "power" that the siblings have. I think in one the scenes it talked about one of them knocking the other one, and I could see the power in the push and knocking their sibling back against the wall. I know in the movie, "Man of Steel" they really whipped Superman around and it was almost comical...I sort of see that in this show when the kids use their abilities. The further I go along the more I want to watch the next episode! 8/10

These are really great surprises, Andrew! I'm really glad you've been enjoying the series, and it's an awesome compliment to receive saying that you'd actually like to see this on TV someday. Glad to know I'll have a fan if I because famous! Haha, jk jk. I really love the whole concept of one of the main characters getting infected and acting like something they're not. I drew a lot of inspiration from the Smallville episode "Nicodemus", but I also wanted to do this episode because it subtly hints at Mrs. Uucsio's botany experience, which comes back up later down the line. And all in all, it was just a really fun episode to write. Yep, you're right: Clark accidentally shoves Sara and sends her flying into a wall. I did that to show that they're still not adjusted, but getting there. Really glad you're enjoying these episodes, Andrew! Hope you enjoy what's to come!

Brady, mate, I don't mean to be a stickler, but I've noticed something of a continuity error in Super Battle, Part 2 - in the teaser scene. After Mrs. Uuscio tells Jonathan to shut up, he is then said to go ZAP, and disappear, but suddenly after Clark's new power saves the day, he's back to be gusted away against the D.U. sign, and knocked unconscious...

My bad, I accidentally must have uploaded the wrong PDF. I save one of the original draft to read through it better, and I must have just clicked that one when I was putting it on Weebly. Should be fixed now.

Episode 104 - Again and again I'm entertained in my reading! I'm really intrigued by this show and I started guessing about this killer and I was going to put my money down on something and then she started doing all this yanking and transporting and I think it's a little higher than my understanding! I do think it has something to do with "Bright Day" but I have no idea and I guess I will have to keep on reading.
I like how the siblings mesh together (wink) I can really get into this mostly because the siblings aren't hard to be entertained by. I know that the castings don't really matter to some people (and it shouldn't take away from the story) but I like the casting that you made on this (wink).
Again, I'm glad that the show doesn't just have the siblings being this super strong group that can't be touched or they have no flaws. It shows that they are human with powers that they have to get use to and learn how to use. I'm sure by the second season that we're going to see a more mature view of their strengths.
I think it's really interesting how Jane Doe's name is Jane Doe. I started to think that there was something about her but then I'm like - "No it's just part of the show" - Ohwell, sometimes I read way too far into something and I miss things that way (lol).
You still have me going and I still want to keep going so that's a good thing! (lol)

I'm really happy you've been enjoying the episodes, and I'm glad you've got some guesses about the killer! xD She begins to get explained more and more as the episodes go on, and she's revealed in episode seven, so hopefully you'll enjoy that. Her powers definitely play a key part in what's to come! So yes, if you want to find out, you might have to keep on reading, lol I really wanted to try and show the triplets' reactions as realistically as possible, even if this show is... not realistic at all. XD They definitely begin to accept their powers as a part of who they are, and they definitely begin to learn how to master them one step at a time. Glad they're entertaining! XD I say their banter gets better as the episodes go on, lol. FUN FACT TIME: When I originally had the concept of this idea, long before I joined theVPN, Jane Doe's name was supposed to be a running gag about how no one could ever remember her name. That's since never happened, so I changed her name to Janette "Jane" Doe, so it;s never brought up that her name is... kinda like that, but it just kinda stuckw with me and I incorporated it into the show that way, if any of that made sense. xD Can't wait to see what you think!

Episode 105 - Okay. I may have to put a question behind spoiler tag but probably everybody has read season one already. This was a unique episode. It's probably an episode that would be really fun to create. The siblings ending up in different areas and we have to discover why they are there. It's kind of like the Hangover but not really (lol). But that's an idea for a future episode (it's done a lot) but have the ending at the beginning and go back and tell the story in flashback form (anyways). So this Det. Ashlock are they really the killer or is it just the way the killer projected themselves in this alternate reality? I think it's cool that the siblings are considering telling about their powers but not yet but do they really want to do that? I think that they need relationships (you know like Clark and Lois) they have to hide their power and keep the relationship solid. Not much to say but checking in to let you know it was good (lol) 8/10

Episode 105 - Okay. I may have to put a question behind spoiler tag but probably everybody has read season one already. Haha, nope. I don't think that many people have actually. This episode actually took me a while to write. I kept scratching ideas for how I wanted the episode to run, but I finally got an idea and ran with it, and the episode got finished so I was happy about that. XD But nonetheless it was totally fun to write. I've never really considered doing an episode the way you're talking about, but that's definitely not off the table, lol! The Upsville Killer just used an image of Detective Ashlock to interact with the triplets because she didn't want to show her true self. Hope that makes sense. XD The triplets just don't like lying to their best friends about this issue, but then they realize that if they do tell them, they might be put into danger now that the Upsville Killer is after them, haha/ Thanks again for the feedback, Andrew! Means a lot!

Episode 106 - I must say that if I had to choose people that I would want around me I would probably pick Janice, Sara and Clark.
Again I really liked this episode with the kidnapping of Debbie and the game she was forced to play. For some reason I like movies and tv shows that do that because it's like (for the most part) there's going to be a twist and I love twists. When you expect one things or someone to be part of something and it's actually someone else. I didn't even put it together that the mystery man was going to be connected with GREEN.
Once again the kids were interesting and entertaining and love the action! They get kicked around and thrown around and they still come out like heroes and yet high school students (smile) Great job with that!
Mrs. U and her surprise "lights out" action - that was a shock didn't see that coming and she has a number also! (Hmm)
Okay! Paco? What the heck? There has to be something with him? I'm thinking that he's an alien cat!! Just kidding! I think (lol)!
Well, I'm getting closer to the end of Season one and I can't wait to see how this ends! On to the next!!

Hopefully you enjoy it when it comes into play. Great to know you liked the action, since it is an action series! XD There's definitely going to be more fight scenes down the road, one in each episode I do believe. The fight in the next episode was really, really fun to write, because it's the biggest one, right behind the season finale showdown, haha. 1.08 really explains this and shows how she's involved. lol I really wanted to show how much of a caring person Debbie is, so that's why she decided to pick up Paco. Haha, he's just a normal cat effected by Bright Day, so that's why he's purple. XD Thanks again, Andrew! Hope you enjoy what's to come!

Episode 107 - I wanted to post this sooner but I finished yet another episode!
I must say first of all when you did the dressing room montage with Janice trying on dresses that was good and when she had on her final dress - wow - I couldn't wait to picture that (lol). When their bodies disappeared to the unknown location that was cool too. It's like this "Unknown Killer" has an ability to do something and control anyone that she wants to.
The reveal of the "Unknown Killer" is awesome and I'm hoping to get more of a reveal in the episodes to come. Especially to see where she came from and what she is all about.
When Clark got upset and then to see him dressed for success for this dance! Wow! I wasn't expecting him to be dressing up for this party. When Debbie called and Clark answered and told him that she wouldn't be back to take pictures (more wow). I was almost like something is going to go wrong and this is going to be an emotional weight that will make it worse.
Yet another battle between the killer and the siblings and I feel that there is more to come and YET I'm wondering what is lying around the corner for heroes!?!?

I tried to imagine what the whole dress montage would look like a TV, and I really enjoyed what I thought it would look like, so I was excited that it actually fit into the story. The Upsville Killer can do many, many things with her wand. Glad you liked that whole scene! I'm really glad you liked the whole reveal! I tried to describe the killer as best as I could, because I had this whole image in my head. Hopefully it came across the way I had it in my head, haha!! Yeah, Clark really had to put his anger aside and suck it up for Lucy's sake. He really cares about the others in his life. Debbie's storyline really drove her away from what her children were doing in this episode, so she couldn't really be there for the pictures. But no, didn't carry that much of an emotional weight, lol. I really loved writing this whole battle, because, besides the finale, this was a pretty big one. There's definitely more to come for the Knox's, and definitely a whole lot more battles around the corner!

Episode 108 - I don't know why it takes me so long to view episodes but I'm trying to get caught up before the next season starts!
The Alexander character was interesting. I could actually see this character with the Fassbender voice. I think he was the one in Prometheus and I could actually see him playing that part. He's kind of the bad guy type of person but doesn't really look the part, or you can't tell when you look at him (lol).
I'm curious how this "Chosen" thing is going to go when it comes to the Knox siblings and how they are going to handle the climax that I'm expecting in the next couple of episodes. It was almost like this is really getting close to something big because it seemed that characters were coming back into the story - From Mr. Hardly to Jonathan - oh my!
The masquerade ball I was assuming was going to be a little more involved but it worked out. Okay, so everyone is getting stronger? Hmm!? I again really enjoy this and I can't wait to get to the ending to see how the season ends. Hopefully there's no big emotional scenes that I'm not ready for (lol).
I feel bad for Mrs. Uucsio because it was like she was doing that stuff to protect the ones that she cares about but they get upset. I guess I would have to be in that scenario before I could judge but I think they were a bit hard on her. A good musical, voiceover exit - cool!
Okay, well I hope the pieces fall into place soon and everything comes together!!

He's kind of the bad guy type of person but doesn't really look the part, or you can't tell when you look at him (lol). Great to have you back, Andrew! Alexander was originally going to be played by Daniel Craig, but then I saw some Fassbender movies, and decided that he needed to be this character now! Haha. Alexander is very manipulative and sneaky, so it begs the question: is he alive, or isn't he? DUN DUN DUN. Chosen is definitely going to be explored further down the line, and in what capacity I can't say. Could be through Mrs. Uucsio's flashbacks, could not be, you're just going to have to read and find out! The next episode really has a lot going on, action wise that is. Hopefully you'll enjoy it! The whole "what the heck is happening to my powers" thing comes into play in the next episode, when one of the Knox triplets thinks he/she isn't able to do something, and the season finale is a big one, if I do say so myself, haha! The Knox triplets, mainly, were mad at her because Mrs. Uucsio knew Chosen took their mother, and that just wasn't okay with them. Dr. Uucsio wasn't so much mad, just upset that his wife lied to him. And then she ran out before he could do anything, and it all continues in the next episode. Thanks again, Andrew! Hope you enjoy the rest of the season!

"Super Start" Part OneJust started this series, and already love the potential it has, and hope to read even more episodes over the weekend. First and foremost, I have to talk about the trio. I love that you introduce these siblings as extremely dysfunctional. Janice and Sara always seem to butt heads, with Jonathan in the middle trying to sort it all out and make sure everyone gets along. Then they come into these powers, and they start to really bond, and deal with the issues at hand. I love that whole aspect of it, because it reminds me of Charmed, in that, when they got their powers, they became closer sisters, and I think, it could be just as effective for this series- instead of complaining how cursed they are because of these powers, it really has helped pull them all together so in a way I can see them being extremely thankful for that. But again, I've only read this first episode so far, so I have no idea what to expect. I remember reading the pilot and noticing all the changes you've made to it, particularly to Janice's storyline of losing Frank. I've got to commend you on this, because it really held the emotional drive I thought the pilot was lacking when the show was pitched, and you slowly let us as the audience into the emotional turmoil of Janice's character, as she was grieving; and it didn't just happen in one big go, it came in waves. The first few flashbacks at the very beginning, I was kind of like, "ah, maybe it was bad advice, its not working so much," but then when I kept reading until the end and more and more flashbacks occurred, it felt more organic, and mirrored what grieving for someone was like, and ugh, you pulled it off so well. I think it makes all the more sense with these flashbacks connected to her storyline that Janice was so detached from everyone else in the premiere, because she's dealing with someone so personal, in comparison to the "trio", if that makes any sense. Either way, you handled that really well, and I loved Janice's entire story for the first episode. Moving on, the discovery of their abilities was priceless, and really organic too, which was great. It didn't seem forced, like "okay, I need to demonstrate this power by this point, so I can do this, and that, and that too..." Plus, it felt like they were all in a position to have the power revealed, and it came naturally to them. Then, trying to replicate that power was classic, and I love that they had to really tap into memories, and emotions to use their newfound abilities. Jonathan seems like a total whack-job, and of course you had to end the first episode with a big cliffhanger. I'm gonna try and read the next episode now and leave a review for that later tonight too. Ultimately, it was a great start to the series. In this script, you really showed your talent in writing action, and creating atmosphere and the scene that these characters are appearing in- the teaser of this episode is just brilliant, all in all. There are some areas of dialogue that could be fixed up, but you know me, I don't like to touch the technicalities of scripts anymore, and prefer to just review the story, and the characters, and the arcs, and all that jazz, which you're a master at. For the first episode of Super Teens, I give it an 8/10.
