Okay, I'm going to be straight with you, this needs a lot of work. Along with your other pitches, this is far to underdeveloped to actually be properly critiqued. You're leaving to many questions. How did these individuals obtain these gifts? What makes Brent so special? Who are the Higher Powers and what are their roles in the series? Your descriptions are also far too small and vague as well. Give us background on these characters, even the reoccurring ones.
That's really all I can say at the moment. My advice is to check out the pitch guide MJ wrote and/or check out some of the pitches that have been picked up by the forum. And after that, we can properly make a critique. ;D

Whoa. I must say, when I was reading this, the introduction from Brent, I was thinking this was a masterpiece, but to be quite honest, I felt a little let down when I read through the rest, because with the quality of your description, I was expecting a full-blown out plan. However, having said that, I agree mostly with what Brady has said above, you have left a lot of questions – which in some cases, could be good, but sometimes, the reader/watcher is just begging for more answers, and that is the position I found myself in.
As far as the title and the characters are concerned, they're all great! They really do have potential, and with the certain gifts they possess, it seems like there could be a lot of development here. For example, Zoey could maybe struggle immensely to control the fire power? – And since it only states she can "manipulate" fire, she could have doubts about herself in the group, because she cannot actually conjure fire, she has to carry a lighter around with her? I do have to say, though, I was hoping Frankie's power of "freezing time temporarily" would develop into turning objects into solid ice? With that, there could be the classic "comic-relief" factor in between the serious scenes, involving Zoey and Frankie always arguing over their powers, since they both contradict one another.
But for me to give a proper review, I would like to see more – and also, I think you should definitely take it away, produce a plan of the whole series, and make quite a few changes, not drastic ones, we don't want the whole show changed completely! For me, one of the gaps you've left, what is the Higher Power? Why is Brent working for them? Is he the "chosen one"? Are they using him for evil? These plots and twists would spice the "supernatural" factor of the series. Also, because the actress to play "The Messenger" is extremely beautiful, do we see a Brent/Messenger "forbidden" love going on?
But overall, I love the concept, and the idea is very well planned, just not detailed yet for a proper review to be posted. However, you've done a good job. Well done, David. I agree with Jay too, this is one of your best ideas yet!

This is an awesome idea and it could be really good! I just agree with the others and think the pitch needs more development. I would say you've got past ONE of the hardest steps, in that you've got your idea. Now just try padding it out and make it even better.
