Can't wait! Speaking of 'Mirror', I know you said that we might not get to see/hear of Helena, but I would love to hear at least a little bit. Maybe, if you're planning a season 3 vdvd, you could put it in as a deleted scene? Helena will be in the episode, but because in Earth-2 we're in Metropolis, its highly unlikely we won't see an Earth-2 Helena. As that earth is described to be pretty much the same, with just a "darker edge" to it- or something along those lines that Tess said on Smallville- then, I'd assume Helena would either be a lethal killing machine who was never shown the error of her ways, dead, or just really, really bad. But, if I find a place for her in the Earth-2 story, I promise I'll throw her in, but only if it makes sense. At the moment, it looks very unlikely.

The season premiere is undergoing some serious changes at the moment. Story-wise, some big elements have shifted, while the majority has stayed the same. The difference is the way its being structured, and told, which requires a completely new script. Believe me, I'm bummed too, after having just reached 48 pages on the original. The problem I have at the moment is I feel like I've got a really strong, massive story, and haven't told it in the best way, or in the way it needs to be done. So that is something I will be working on in the next two-three weeks (with school wrapping up in about seven days). The major differences are- Bruce has been spending the majority of this "one year gap" off with Ra's Al Ghul, facing these incredible tasks and trials in an attempt to bring Chloe back, as opposed to coming into that knowledge a year down the track. We are introduced to him facing the last request Ra's has of him, which allows more weight to his journey, and emotion, and to the story itself. The rest is pretty much the same, just shown and told differently throughout the episode (which means, nothing in the rest of the season has to adjust for this to work). With that, here are some new spoilers-
UPDATED 30/3/2013 - While Bruce is gone, "The Dark Knight" also appears to be absent, which sets off alarms in Vicki's head, sparking her suspicion of Bruce being The Bat. They share a defining scene at episode's end where Vicki confronts him with her theories. - Helena appears to be the only guardian Gotham has left, having resurfaced as The Huntress. Unfortunately, she plays by a new set of rules that the police don't agree with, becoming quite a target. - Gordon is comatose, after an encounter with Hush. The episode will flash back to this encounter, to see how he ended up in hospital. This also introduces us to his daughter, DC Comics' Barbara Gordon, played by Emma Stone. - Lois shares a scene with Vicki. Durance describes their interaction as a having a "stepping on each others' toes" kind of vibe, reminiscent of the Cat Grant/Lois Lane scenes in Smallville. - Serinda Swan's "Zatanna" will NOT appear in this episode. It is uncertain whether Julian McMahon's "Guido Bertinelli" and Nicki Minaj's "Harley Quinn" will still appear. - Perry is no longer working at the Gotham Gazette, and fans may be surprised who has obtained his position as "Editor-in-Chief". - Allison Mack will appear in quite a handful of scenes, as opposed to the original version of the episode. Producers state, "her absence really cut a lot of the emotional elements of the situation out, which stinted a lot of the scenes." It is said during the time she's still deceased, there will still be appearances, and that her resurrection will take place 'sooner' rather than later. - This episode contains several flashbacks to the year that has passed between last season's finale, and this season's premiere. - Perry tells Lois, "Watchtower doesn't exist anymore." However, as the finale showed us, its somewhere underground. The new location might surprise fans, and is said to be, "more convenient than ever." - Episode is said to mention/introduce Talia Al Ghul- who has a role of some significance in the episode that is too spoilery to reveal- however, Stana Katic won't appear until the third episode of the series.

Hahaha, I'm really trying to make sure its perfect. I want to start the season off in a very strong way, so I do apologise for the rewrites, but its going to be a lot better than the original plans. As soon as I started outlining, and realised Lois and Vicki would cross paths, I just stopped everything and wrote the scene, so its there waiting to be slotted in to the episode when I start writing it. Its Lois' first scene of the episode, too. XD

Hahahahaa. My god. I always wanted a Lois and Vicki scene. Those two would pretty much make the episode. And also its hilarious that they basically are alike in so many ways. I just Want to ask...what was Vicki's feelings about Chloe dying?

In the original premiere, Vicki stumbled across people clearing out Chloe's desk to make way for another reporter, and she stormed into Perry's offer pretty much exclaiming that it wasn't right, and she could come back, etc. That original premiere was based off of the five stages of grieving- Vicki represented "denial", and I think that spoke to her entire arc for the episode, because she's still trying to find Selina, and the other missing citizens who have disappeared off the face of the world.
In this premiere, she's quite busy and swamped in the "trying to solve this missing persons case". As well as that, she's cracked on to a pretty big clue that Bruce and Batman are the same, so she's keeping herself distracted quite a bit. But if I were to say how she felt, I would still say denial. As well as that, Chloe revealed to her in "Anarchy" that her abandonment of Vicki was so that she could find her own feet, and learn to protect herself- that Chloe believed she could, and I think the idea that people are going missing, her friends are dying- it gives her this insecure feeling of not being in control of anything. She feels like she failed to do anything to help Chloe, and now, she's struggling to even do her job. So that's primarily what her arc is in the season opener. XD

Exclusive: Eleven Teasers for Season Three! Its official- all twenty-two episodes of Watchtower's upcoming third season have been locked and ready for production. Finally, VSGuide has answers for some of the fans biggest questions! Are you ready to be teased? WHO IS HUSH? | The biggest mystery of the season surrounds the identity of Hush. The big-bad has a presence in close to every single episode of the season, in whatever capacity, great or small, and there'll be more than a few times where the audience will shriek, "I've got it! I know who it is!" Producers, however, promise that it'll remain a complete mystery up until the very last episode of the season, if not, the final three installments. "Everyone is a candidate." While the comics revealed the DC Comics Villain's identity, producers have decided to incorporate the mythology in a very different way. "We don't want to disrespect the mythology, but again, we don't want to have such an exciting and mysterious character on the show if the fans already know who is under the mask," producers claimed, confirming that it will be a new face behind the bandages. THE TIES THAT BIND | DC Comics' Talia Al Ghul (Stana Katic) is introduced this season, and comes with her own baggage of family drama. This season wedges her between her family, and the man she's fallen for- none other than Bruce Wayne, of course- which will be a growing conflict woven throughout. "She has to make a definitive decision on where she stands," Katic told VSGuide, "She gets a taste of what it means to be human, and to be good, but is tainted by all the evil she's ever done." Our guess: you'll spend the season hoping she chooses the right path, and won't know till the very, very end. "There's twists and turns left, right, and centre for Talia. I love it!" WRITTEN IN STONE | Last season, it was revealed that Chloe Sullivan did, in fact, have a destiny. "Through dying, we learn that she fulfilled her destiny," Mack reveals, teasing that the character's final few episodes of the previous season had locked her fate in. However, whether her destiny entailed setting Oliver on his journey in Star City, giving birth to Hope, or dying in order for Bruce to become Gotham's symbol of hope, Mack tells us, "now that she's without a future set in stone, it's up to her to forge her own path." Turns out, when you're destined to die, and come back, fate kind of doesn't have a plan for you anymore. Ouch!IN NEED OF HOPE | The present meets the future in the biggest way possible, when Kristen Bell guest stars as "Hope Sullivan" in the eighth episode of the season. But her appearance isn't as sudden as you'd think. Allison Mack shares with VSGuide that, "Chloe spends a good chunk of the first half [of the season] searching for her daughter, and trying to pull her life back together." Mack was adamant about not sweeping her past under the rug, especially in terms of leaving her own child behind, and promises, "we'll get to see that addressed in such a significant, and exciting way." THE KEY | The character of Kyle Williams is a force to be reckoned with when he's introduced at the start of the season. His power, unknown, is said to have the ability to make or break him. "He walks the very thin line between being a force for good, or evil," Greenberg tells VSGuide, excited about the ammunition his character is packing. "It's very Anakin/Luke Skywalker, in that he's the key to everyone's survival, but, if exploited by the wrong kind of people, could be the deadliest weapon for mankind." But, fear not- our favourite, bad-ass blonde will take him under her wing to guide him in the right direction. "She's his guardian angel in more ways than one." ITS THE ADAM'S BAT FAMILY | While producers have sworn that "Batman works alone", this season introduces Nightwing and Barbara Gordon in pivotal roles. "We're such fans of these characters that it would be a disservice to the show not to have them be a part of it, in some capacity," Malone explained, excited to have these iconic characters join the show. Despite their comic book futures, Malone confirms that, "Barbara is not on a path to becoming Bat-Girl, and Dick Grayson was never Robin in this universe." Instead, Barbara's future lies elsewhere, and, in a future episode, steps in as The Watchtower, working side by side with Chloe, with Dick being introduced as a seemingly calm and collected Nightwing, who has a hidden rage that will eventually be unleashed when his past resurfaces. NINE LIVES | Returning this season for a five-episode arc, Eliza Dushku reprises the role of Selina Kyle, and tackles the question of "who and/or what" she is. "We've seen her die, and come back, die and come back, and it's time to figure out why," executive producer Chris Davis teased. As well as that, the character is said to return on a mission to reveal the identity of Hush, and bring his reign to an end. "She comes back as a woman scorned," Dushku revealed, excited to step into the iconic shoes of the character for five more episodes. Unfortunately, Dushku revealed that she will not be stepping back into the cat-suit in any of her five episodes this season. "Its very much about the woman behind the mask." MAKING A LIST. CHECKING IT TWICE | Resurfacing as The Huntress at the end of last season, Helena has returned to a life of crime-fighting. However, everything has changed. "Helena has no limits this year," Ewell claimed, confirming the darker edge to her character the producers had teased earlier, "She crossed the line once and now she's not turning back." The character is said to have made quite a hit-list of Gotham's elite crime gangs, and spends the majority of the season taking them out. What her friends don't know is whose name sits at the very bottom of the list: Helena Bertinelli. "In order to fight evil, she becomes evil, and she is very accepting of what that means for her future." Is she too far gone to be saved? CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY | Announced at the beginning of the year, Michael McKean's "Perry White" will be bowing out at the end of this season, which means only one thing- w hen does he move out of the city to become Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Planet in Metropolis? "Lois Lane has quite the offer for Perry in our season premiere," executive producer, Chris Davis, announced, "But there's just one last major road block in his path." What that is, we don't know, but producers promise, "you'll find out in the closing minutes of the premiere." Despite that, McKean tells VSGuide that his final episode looks at, "two different avenues Perry could take, both of which are filled with incredible sacrifice." Sounds like it'll be a tearjerker of a swan song. Prepare your tissues! RETURN TO ARKHAM | At the end of last season, The Joker had destroyed Arkham Asylum and released all the inmates out into the city. Now, Gordon is on a quest to round up the crazies and throw them all back into the nut-farm. "We'll get to see old favourites, like Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and Scarecrow," Malone revealed, telling VSGuide how fun it is to write these iconic comic book villains. "Instead of having filler episodes this season, we wanted to have an ongoing subplot that pops up every now and then, and with this, we're allowed to revisit some insane characters from the mythology." However, not all escapees are on a mission of their own. "Some are in league with the big, bad Hush." *GASP!* MAKE A WISH | Celebrating the 50th episode of the series this season will not only make Chloe Sullivan's dreams come true, but also the fans. " We're bringing back the whole gang for this one," Malone happily cheered, confirming the return of Smallville Alums, Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Erica Durance, Kristin Kreuk, Sam Jones III, and Annette O'Toole. The episode is said to look at the past, present, and future of Chloe's journey, after her spirits are brought down due to a tragic defeat in the episode prior. "We get to look at how much of an impact Chloe has made on all these characters' lives, especially Bruce and Helena, in an attempt to boost her spirits and keep her fighting," executive producer Chris Davis announced, excited to share the thrilling news. The milestone episode is set to take place on the eve of Chloe's birthday, and a magical wish, thanks to the powerful force that is Zatanna, is granted- "She wants her old life back." Through this, she learns that while she maintains happiness with her friends and family of the past, her absence in the lives of those living in Gotham will create total chaos for them. Excited?

Well, until season four that is... xD I'm really excited for this season- even though, realistically, with HSC year and all, its kind of incredibly hard to say when episodes will start airing, which sucks. Ugh! Don't even mention season four to me yet, its too much, TOO MUCH. Hahahaha. XD

Schedule Update!
As you may have noticed, production has taken a lot longer this season than the previous two, which is largely due to this particular year being the busiest school year for me- HSC, and all. With that, I have to announce that the schedule for Watchtower this season has changed drastically, as there will be no new episodes until November/December.
With that, I also announce that the season premiere will air this year, and may carry a lot more weight than previous episodes, considering the massive wait. I'm really upset that I have to sacrifice writing this show and regularly airing episodes, as its one of my favourite hobbies (especially when I've got an entire season mapped out and ready to go), however this, sadly, has to be the case so I can focus more on my studies.

I had a thought today - although many of us are CHLOLLIE fans, naturally, with the departure of Justin Hartley from the show, and the fact that, from what little info about Season 3 has been released, Bruce spends the last year looking for a way to resurrect Chloe, this year there will definately be a chance to explore some of the romantic and sexual tensions between the two leads. However, not only is Bruce mourning Chloe, but he's presumably also mourning the departure of Selina... and ADD TO THAT, the fact that this season introduces Talia Al Ghul, who in the comics was one of the MAJOR players in the love life of Batman AND Bruce Wayne. Bruce may play up the ladies man angle as part of his 'secret identity', but he's DEFINATELY going to have his hands full with femme fatales and love triangles this year... poor guy!!

The spoilers always work to increase interest without taking away from the actual episodes. I am glad to see that it appears that both Nightwing/Dick Grayson and Oracle/Barbara Gordon seem to have their own story points beyond adding the characters to the backdrop of Gotham.
While I am sure this is asked before (probably by me), but do you ever worry about placing the series in Gotham and dealing with Batman's origin? Last season, Oliver left, and Emil is gone for the time being. Once Perry leaves, we essentially have Chloe surrounded by Bat-franchise characters only.
For this reason, I like how you are bringing in an original character, and using Chloe as the linchpin or glue that brings everyone together as opposed to Bruce/Batman. Babs will likely become Oracle because of Chloe's influence, and I am guessing Chloe will have some connections with Nightwing beyond his helping Helena this season.
If anything, this version of Batman is still evolving, making mistakes as I would say seeking help from al Ghul and his League. I will be interested in seeing what effects will Chloe's resurrection have on her psyche since we all know what the quickest way for the al Ghul to bring back the dead.
Questions:
1. What are the current ages of the characters planned for this season? 2. Will we be seeing any interaction between Dick and Bruce? Dick and Barbara? 3. Any chance you will be addressing the Flash mythology at any point in Season 3? After all, if Bart was THE Bart Allen, then we have Barry and Wally that have not made an appearance. Perhaps Bart somehow inspired his family to become the two of the fastest men alive.

I'm not sure if I've ever worried about the show taking place in Gotham, purely because its such a dark and fascinating setting to explore as its own character on the show. This season, specifically, really plays on the idea that Gotham is a central character, and one of the major things it'll explore is that conflict between status- the rich and the poor. The whole mission statement is to clean the streets up, so something as corrupted and broken as Gotham City allows for more stories, in a lot of ways. As for Batman's origin, its always been a bit of a concern. There's those questions of, "if Bruce is in danger, do we spend that episode with Chloe and the others helping him out, or does it focus on him- the freakin' Batman of all heroes- making his own way out." I'm always very cautious of that, however, this season, in particular, wraps the origins up in the premiere, and he's very much that figure from the comic books, which is very exciting to write. You're definitely on the right track here. That's what I loved about Smallville, in terms of Chloe's character, she helped establish quite a lot, with either small little moments of naming a hero, like "Green Arrow Bandit? If it were up to me, I'd lose the bandit, but- not my story!" to setting up major parts of the mythology, such as splitting Doomsday/Davis, and building 'Watchtower' into what we've come to know it as. In Watchtower, especially this season, we're surrounded by a lot more "bat-franchise characters", and she will have influence on them, definitely. When it comes to Barbara, we know there's two possible avenues for her- Batgirl, and Oracle. The latter is more likely, and she'll slowly become a more pivotal character to the series, and does share quite a lot with Chloe this season. There's a particular episode, which Chris will be penning this season, where Barbara kind of realises what she wants to do with her life, and that she too, wants to protect people, and so you'll have Chloe kind of being that mentor figure for her and teaching some valuable lessons, and maybe even learning a few as well. I can't say yet how much influence Chloe will have on Nightwing- at the moment, I've purely introduced him because he's someone that mirrors Helena so much, and there's going to be quite a season-long arc involving those two that I have to admit, its probably the main thing I'm looking forward to right at this very moment. Definitely, and back on the topic of Chloe being the linchpin, her death in "Anarchy" was so successful because she didn't know Bruce's identity as Batman, and so when this season starts, and Vicki is lurking around Wayne Manor on this hunch that Bruce is Batman, he's got to struggle with that question of, "is this secret hurting them, or protecting them?" He holds a lot of guilt for Chloe's death in those regards, because had she known Batman was Bruce, she would have possibly stayed away from him to ensure survival, and known he would be safe. The resurrection for Chloe comes with a few side effects. There's one MAJOR thing I've been holding back on because I don't want to ruin the big shock come time for it to be revealed, but there's some consequences to her resurrection. As well as that, Chloe comes back without a future set in stone, because she's technically meant to be dead. So this season, there's a lot more freedom to move her in foreign directions, and even darker directions, because she's got to determine her own future now. I am really bad at this, and I wish I could be like "well, boom, Bruce is this age, and boom, Helena is how old..." but I just know I'd mess with continuity somewhere throwing an age at them. Lets look at Chloe, though. She as 24 in the final season of Smallville- 25 through S1 of WT, so 26 in S2- loses an entire year (27)- so technically she will be turning 28 in the 50th episode of the series. Although, she will more than likely be celebrating her 27th birthday, purely because you don't age when you're dead. There'll probably be some line of, "well, technically you're 28" in there somewhere. Specifically, "Dick" and "Bruce", I couldn't tell you. But "Nightwing" and "Batman", definitely will share interactions. Barbara's episode count keeps increasing, and I think you'll find she'll be the "Holly" of the season, where she's not necessarily PLANNED for a certain episode, but will somehow pop up. They could definitely cross paths at some point, though. This season kind of steers away from the other heroes, and kind of plummets deep into the Batman-mythology. This is the only season that really focuses so largely on that, but its because this is the darkest season of the series, and Chloe is kind of separated from the life she used to have with, as you said above, Oliver, Perry, Emil, etc. That sense of familiarity, making it all the more uncomfortable and harder for her when she's isolated from that. She's no longer got that sense of security either. I'm sure I'll tackle the mythology more of the other heroes SOMEWHERE before the series is over, but I can't specifically say "yes" to that happening in Season Three. Anyway, thanks for the post. It was a pleasure reading it, and I could see you working out some of the plot twists before they happen, which I don't know if that excites me, or has me worried, hahaha. XD
