Since Outcasts is back on hiatus for a little while, and it's been quite a while since the last question or discussion...I think anyone one is in order. In order of favoritism, who are your five favorite "good guys" on the show? And, same rules apply, who are your three favorite villains?

I know I told you once before but here they are again with a few reasons.
Storm: There's something about how she's written that gets me into her. She's got a sort of motherly aura about her and the way her voice is expressed, she comes across really well. If you know Storm her dialogue really whispers in your mental ear. =]
Kitty: She's just down right adorable! XD There' really not much more to say about her.
Melanie: She's witty and a little corny. Mostly I adore her banter with MJ and with the villains.
Jean: Smart mouth. I love it! XD
and MJ: She has a real attitude. She's strong and doesn't sulk around. I really like that about her
>.> And in case you're wondering Kristen is right after MJ. XD
I don't really have a good picking for villains at the moment though.

Seeing Storm as your favorite is awesome, Reyna. XD I've had a few comments about her that kind of discouraged me from writing her because I was afraid I was getting her wrong or she sounded too robotic. But I've learned, partially from you assuring me a few days (weeks?) ago and partially through self-realizations that Storm is one of those characters where you really having to know her voice when you're reading her to get the full experience. If you're not reading and hearing HER voice, well...of COURSE it's going to sound robotic. This is definitely encouraging, though! I really need to bring Storm out more! Kitty was hard for me to work into at first, but I'm liking how she's starting to turn out. I'm glad you like her, too! ^^ And oh man, don't get me started on Melanie LMFAO! She's my downright favorite to write and the fact that a lot of people enjoy her...I love it. You never know what's going to come out of her mouth XD And on that note, I think it's the same with Jean. Maddie does ALL the writing for Jean, which I totally applaud her for because I love how Jean's turned out because of her. I enjoy writing any scene with Jean in it with Maddie, especially with Kristen, Bobby and Melanie. It's great XD I'm not as surprised to see Mary-Jane on this list. I know a few of you adore her as well and that's awesome. Monica does MOST of the writing for her, but Maddie and I have done a considerable bit as well, I think, enough to say that MJ is definitely fun to write as well. I just, she's one that makes me nervous sometimes. I never know if I'm getting it right. -falls over and dies- Thanks for your input! XD I was just really curious as to who people considered their favorites on the show. I'm thinking about asking for favorite "guest stars" next, but I'm not sure....anyways. You're awesome, Reyna!

Outcasts isn't that fresh in my mind at the moment, so I can't list all my favourites -- but the main good guys I love would definitely have to be Melanie, Gwen, and Mary-Jane. I love them for many different reasons. Melanie is my favourite character from the whole series, though. She deserves all the praise in the world.
The best villain is definitely Mystique. No question. xD

Although I've simply been too lazy to drop a review, I just wanted to say that I loved the latest episode. Some nice Jean/Kristen scenes. Euphoria's scenes were fun. Mystique was, as always, great to see... although I'm split over her ending here. xD And Haylee, she is one crazy bitch... however, I happen to like crazy bitch characters (hehe, "characters").

XD Euphie has it coming lmao. I'm glad you like Haylee, though. She's...definitely someone we're going to keep around for a while.

"Legacy, Part Two" Review.
This was a pretty big episode. I enjoyed it for the most part. I loved the build up. From the very beginning, things were heating up, and during its climax, pretty much every character was given a time to shine, and take on those which threatened the team. The culmination of our heroes was something to cheer for, and this episode had a lot of great moments mixed into one very, very, very long conclusion to the 'Legacy' two-parter.
I did have a couple problems with this episode, though. The first problem I had would be how heavily inspired a lot of the confrontations were, which turned the episode into a pretty predictable one. The whole scene at the Lady of Liberty with Magneto and the Brotherhood, to Spider-Girl's big confrontation with Green Goblin. Sure, the characters had different dialogue, and fought different foes, but it just felt like the films X-Men and Spiderman being blended together. It irked me a little. Still, you handled it pretty well.
The second issue just surrounds Green Goblin. Its not a huge thing, but a lot of his lines felt really off and forced. This could just be his characterisation, and just the kind of villain he is, but a lot of his interactions with Mary-Jane, and Spider-Girl really didn't do anything for me. And with the predictable sort of confrontation, I wasn't roped into his villainous spotlight for the episode. And of course, the last issue is just with the length of the script, but I can totally understand why, so I won't fault much on that.
The great things? There was a lot! First of all, although Gwen's entire plot could have been yanked out of the script to cut the episode down due to its length, it was nice to see her living her dream, and doing what she does best. She stood up for the heroes, and that was a great moment. I also really loved how Mary-Jane stepped up into a kickass role and fought back. She's such a strong character, and like I've said from the very beginning of this series, I don't want to see her turn into a victim. I was worried with the direction in which it seemed she was going, especially when her father came into the picture, but you buried those fears. She really kicked ass in this episode, and anyone who knows me will say that I love BAMF female characters. I would like to give MJ the "BAMF" status now -- she was brilliant!
I want to applaud you. I can't remember the episode title, but there was an episode this season that I didn't really enjoy as much as the others, which involved Mysterio (I think). And the fight scenes weren't well put together, in terms of length, and there were pages and pages where it was basically just one big ass scene of the heroes fighting, and it just dragged the episode down. This episode involved a HELL of a lot of fighting, but you pulled it off wonderfully. You cut away from one fight, to a different confrontation, back to the other, and then a new one, and everything just flowed perfectly. So I really want to applaud you on that. Well done!
I really enjoyed the character, Euphoria. I think she's a really fascinating, and interesting character, and her dialogue she shares with the Professor is so sophisticated -- its hard not to love her. I would definitely like to see more of her! Also, things to note, Mystique and Spider-Girl's throwdown -- BRILLIANT. It was so good. At first when Mystique claimed she was responsible for framing Spider-Girl, and she pulled her up on that, in which Mystique replied "Its not important," I was irritated, but Mystique DID explain it, and didn't just brush it off as a: "I'm going to reveal something very important, but then brush it off and run away." So that was great. And, Felicia was awesome in this one. Really, really awesome.
I honestly loved the whole deal with the X-Men working as a team. The way you had them try their hardest, and still not walk out of this being perfect, and gave us, the audience, the chance to see their insecurities on that (more with Cyclops (yes, a bracket in a bracket, and yes, I'm going to start calling them by their codenames because I love their codenames, hehehe) damn, need to end the other bracket). It was refreshing. I like how the team is developing, and how you managed to showcase all of these characters. You did a great job with that.
Unfortunately, with the episode being rather predictable in its outcome of the huge events, I can't say it was perfect. Despite the fault in the plot, the character beats, and the development of the team was the highlight of the episode. And Aimee, for the love of god, I love this show sooo much, but these episodes are sooooo long! I know what you mean when you say its hard to cut scenes because they're all so relevant, but man -- I'm one of those people who can't do something for too long because I get restless and I need to just run off and do something else, so maybe its just me who has an issue with the script length. I don't want to press too much on this topic, because I know you work very hard to edit your scripts and you do cut a lot out, but its still something I'd like to see some progress on, in just slimming down some of the episodes.
Overall, an amazing episode that focused on the bulk of its characters in a brilliantly set out way. The episode suffered a great deal due to its predictable plot, but other than that, it was a pretty damn good episode. 8/10.

And with the predictable sort of confrontation, I wasn't roped into his villainous spotlight for the episode. And of course, the last issue is just with the length of the script, but I can totally understand why, so I won't fault much on that. You're right, the episode WAS heavily inspired by those two things, and I admit that it did show. Part of that was for convenience (to allow both of the villains to be in the same episode, but close enough so that the X-Men and Spider-Girl assisting one another wouldn't be an unbelievable stretch) and the other part was because the overall outcome was kind of what we needed. So, I could have been much more original there, but chose not to. As for the Green Goblin, we tried a new writer for his character in this episode but I don't think that was the issue. We tried to give him a slightly...crazier edge, I guess, so the way I wanted him written changed. But, I think we adjusted it in the "Honor Thy Father" to make it a little better and more of a "realistic" transition I guess. We'll see XD The great things? There was a lot! First of all, although Gwen's entire plot could have been yanked out of the script to cut the episode down due to its length, it was nice to see her living her dream, and doing what she does best. She stood up for the heroes, and that was a great moment. Gwen's plot is a little iffy. I think on one hand it might have been able to have been removed, but at the same time, her interaction with Felicia was one that needed to be there or the interaction in "Honor Thy Father" would be incredibly random and out of place XD I could have managed it better, I think, but it was easier to just leave the entire thing in and further her pro-mutant sentiments. As long as I have a say in it, you won't see Mary-Jane turn into a victim. She was never meant to be a victim, and I am determined to make her keep this "BAMF" status that you've given her. Is it bad that it makes me laugh to say/write/read "BAMF" because of Nightcrawler's teleporting sound? XD It gets me every time. Well done! Admittedly, that was the thing I was most worried about as far as the episode went. I knew from the start this episode would have HEAVY fighting and stuff, so I made sure to take the advice you gave me back on "Magical Mysterio Tour" to help this episode along. Needless to say, I'm glad it worked! So thank you for that advice, Jack. It really helped. I really enjoyed the character, Euphoria. I think she's a really fascinating, and interesting character, and her dialogue she shares with the Professor is so sophisticated -- its hard not to love her. I would definitely like to see more of her! You'll definitely be seeing more Euphoria. I think she's set for...erm, at least...3 more episodes this season? Something like that, and if the plot calls for it, she might be in more than that. But I'm glad you like her! She's definitely one of our most enjoyable, too. Mystique and Spider-Girl's showdown, besides Spidey and Green Goblin's, was my favorite to write in this episode. The idea of having those two holed up and fighting each other with Spidey's mouth blasting off every two seconds was one that I definitely wanted in there. XD I'm glad you liked it, too. And yay for Felicia! I LOVE writing for her, and she's definitely got a LOT more coming up in the next few episodes. Lmfao! You crack me up, Jack XD I loved writing Cyclops in this episode. She is definitely starting to go in the direction I've wanted her to go in since the beginning of the series. I'm excited that you like how they're developing, and I hope that stays as the season progresses. They're going to be hitting a lot of rough times that are probably going to test them and how well they work together. It's always a fear of mine on how well the characters are showcased, but Maddie just a great job in making sure that that is done, thank God. If I was in it alone in working with all these characters, I'm afraid of how it would turn out -facepalm- So thank you, from both of us. ^^ Unfortunately, with the episode being rather predictable in its outcome of the huge events, I can't say it was perfect. Oh God! -dies- I know! I'm trying soooo hard to cut down on the length but it's so hard sometimes. Honestly, looking at these episodes and what I can do to cut them down (especially since many of the plots/scenes are relevant)...I'm going to have to start significantly cutting down on my descriptions. As much as I hate that idea, I might have to start making it short and choppy in comparison to the heavily detailed as it is. I'll keep trying at it, but if I can't get it down in the next few episodes...I'll have to weigh my options here. XD Overall, an amazing episode that focused on the bulk of its characters in a brilliantly set out way. The episode suffered a great deal due to its predictable plot, but other than that, it was a pretty damn good episode. 8/10. You know I always look forward to your feedback. So on that note, thanks so much, as always, for reading and reviewing, Jack!

The Christmas special is finally up, albeit mostly unedited. I will go back sometime tomorrow and edit more thoroughly but I'm tired and wanted to go ahead and get it out. Also, anyone who tries to read "Operation: Repo" will probably be unable to find the file. Weebly is being an ass currently and when I went to upload "Carol of the Mutants", it deleted "Operation: Repo". I couldn't fix it tonight due to the site being extremely glitchy, but I'll fix it ASAP in the morning.
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, everyone!
EDIT: This was the shortest (and probably will remain that way) episode of the Outcasts ever. I'm not as happy with it as I thought I'd be, but I had fun writing it and that's what counts.

Okay, I am trying to avoid reading this thread before I catch up on the episodes because I do not want to be spoiled, but I have a question.
I just really want to know why most of the females in the show, at least through Episode 4, all seem to fancy other women? I am not against the idea and actually really enjoy some of the relationships being formed, it just seems like everyone is into girls. I'm glad that Spidey and MJ/Cyclops and Jean Grey having their budding romances like the comics, but it is kind of hard to grasp both the gender and sexuality changes at the same time. I know I am coming into this series very late, but I am just looking for some context as I continue reading the series. Great job, keep up the good work.

It's all to keep the canon relationships, in all honesty. Because while changing characters like Cyclops and Spider-Man into female characters worked quite well, changing their potential romantic interests into men seemed incredibly off. I couldn't, for the life of me, picture Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Gwen Stacy and Mary-Jane Watson as men. Then, the ones like Felicia, she was bisexual in the comics and we've carried that over here. It's just leaning towards women because of the fact that Spidey is a chick and not a dude. As the season progresses, you'll see other relationships begin to form as well that are heterosexual. And (if the series is renewed for another season) there will be more in season two as well. We know it seems like a lot, but it was all to keep the canon relationships and for the story to progress how we wanted it to go. And of course, thanks for the feedback!
