I figured you were just trying to keep everything as close the comics as possible, I just wanted to make sure that I had a grasp on everything as I continue reading the series. Great job overall, I cannot wait to finish these first episodes. Thanks for giving us a great show!

It was brought to my attention that the link to episode ten, "Operation: Repo" was dead. I've fixed the problem and apologize for any inconvenience.

Hello Outcasts team!
I was told by a close friend of mine that there was an awesome story running on an alternative universe of Marvel characters, more specifically the X-Men, and I was enthralled. Though I have only been on this site for a little while, I could not stop reading the episode BEFORE the Christmas episode.
I have plans to read the rest of the episodes at a later date, but I wanted to get a feel for the series first before I decided to devote myself to it.
SO NOW I SHOULD REVIEW! Bare in mind, I have never done this before! So please do not hate me if this review is full of epic failure. xD
First off, the way that this is written. Is so PERFECT it is almost scary. Like, I have read a LOT of fan fiction in my life, and most of it is just TERRIBLE. But not this. The characters are amazing, the writing is amazing. So REFRESHING from all the teen dramas that are just as terrible.
I have to say my favorite character is MJ. I think she fits so well with her original self. Even though Marvel changed her up like twenty or so hundred times, it's nice to see that she sticks to one personality for a change.
But I LOVE Kristen. I think she is a great Alterni-clops. I mean, Scott is cool and all. But I think Kristen is an awesome replacement for him, and though I liked all of the original characters I can honestly say I don't know which I like more.
I haven't read scripts. Not a lot, but I have to say this episode (Episode 10, if I didn't specify) and all the action was pretty fun to read. Your attention to detail is great, I can just see everything in my head like it is happening in a movie. And I greatly appreciate that. Especially since I am so airheaded! xD
I really liked Magneto. SUCH a great rendition of him that in fact it's like you write for him in the real comics. I thought that his debonair kind of sinister badness yet not really all that bad was really well put throughout. And from what I hear from the friend that recruited me, he stays that way throughout the entire series.
You know, despite what Haylee is, you know, a monster. I really like her and Felicia's dynamic. Their friendship that is. I thought it was cute despite knowing what both of them really are. Proof that there CAN be honor amongst thieves. I really like their back and forth and I hope they remain friends throughout the rest of the series. And on Haylee, I think she is sadistically twisted and well written. I cannot wait to see what real tragedies she can bring to the bad guy table. I am sure she will be able to stand on her own without the rest of her family and their already large shadows.
My favorite scene in the whole episode... was the second to last. The one with Melanie and Mary-Jane. I thought that was so adorable and I really wish I had that awesome of friends. I am really sorry to hear that Melanie is gonna kiss Gwen in the episode to follow. (Read that in that other thread) Cause if this wasn't a couple that was meant to be, then I don't know WHAT is.
What I look forward to in the season:
I would really like to know more about Melanie as a person. Like, her family and stuff. Mom and Dad and all that. I think an episode like that would be awesome.
I think that I would like to see Kristen break out of her shell. She is slowly starting to become my favorite character because I have always loved Scott. And I just see her perfectly as his replacement. I want to know what she is about. Maybe even see her sibling or even talk about them. I just cannot wait to see more of her and how she fares in her leadership position.
ANYWAYS! Back onto the episode itself! I thought, for even picking it up THIS far into the season, it was so easy to follow. intricately written. So full of detail, character and life, that I am gonna REMAIN a loyal fan and read the previous episodes. I think that you two, Aimee and Maddie write very well together and I wish you nothing but the best of luck in the coming episodes!
OH rating! 10/10. No. 11/10. It was brilliant. Loved it. And thanks for putting the time and effort into this FANTASTIC show!

A Special Thanks
Okay I want to start out by saying this isn't something that I'd usually do. Generally, a simple "thank you" suffices, usually directly to that person's face. But not in this case. I want to publicly thank the Outcasts' executive producer, Maddie Funderburg, for everything she's done both for me and for the show.
She doesn't talk much around the forums, but she and I are in constant communication over one thing or another, and she truly is the magical glue that sticks the show together and keeps it in line. The general plots for the episodes, the flow and the structure of them are almost entirely her doing alone. She writes for many of the fan-favorites of the show, including but not limited to: Jean Grey, William Maximoff, Haylee Osborn and Norman Osborn.
I could not do this show without her, I'm entirely certain of that. She's extremely dedicated despite her hectic schedule a lot of the time, and she always finds some way to make room for the Outcasts on top of her own things as well as Age of Heroes. She's truly one of the best people you could ever have on a crew, or as a friend in general.
I know this probably seems random, but I've been in huge rut the past few months with the Outcasts, and Maddie has managed to pull me out of it and keep me on track -- even when my inspiration is on the floor. She's been a great helping during all of it, and I really appreciate everything she's done and continues to do.
So, in short, thank you soooo much Maddie. I love you and you are super amazing. I honestly hope to be half the help on Age of Heroe as you've been to me this entire time.

Review: "Honour Thy Father"
This episode was beyond perfect, and was a thrill to read from beginning to end. Despite containing more drama than action, there was a lot of brilliant build up towards the events that happened at the carnival, and a lot of great moments between characters, revolving around relationships, friendships, and we also got to see the return of some favourites. All in all, this has to be my favourite episode of the Outcasts, simply based on the amount of joy I got out of reading each and every little scene. All the characters involved were at their bests, and there was never a dull moment.
Honour Thy Father opened perfectly, setting up not only the plot for the episode, but the location, and what we could expect to see go down. I want to applaud you on approaching the story between Haylee, and Harry and their vengeful attitude towards what happened to their father, so quickly. I'm glad you didn't stall this storyline, and while it seems as though it will carry on and continue, possibly till the end of the season, you gave it a lot of juice and firepower and really pulled me in to these three arch nemeses for our favourite wall crawler.
First, lets deal with the relationships. I love that, despite their separation of sorts, Mary-Jane and Kristen are going through similar things -- they're both moving away from one another, becoming distant, and looking to others with romantic interests. The great thing about this was you tied it all back in at the end, as they dealt with this shift, and change in their life. While I'm not the biggest fan of MJ/Kristen, and as you've expressed yourself that they weren't written to be the fan favourite couple, I grew a lot of respect for them in this episode, and a lot of respect for Kristen. I think it was great how Kristen dealt with everything in the episode's end, and how they parted ways was just a beautiful moment. Its not really the end of something, it feels like the beginning of a really great friendship. Honestly, I think that scene made me look at them differently - I mean, we came into their relationship after a tragedy, and we never really knew how they were before. So while they weren't the best couple in the world, we only saw them at their worst -- this scene made that obvious to us as an audience, and really made me, you know, respect them a little bit. I don't hate them as a couple because of that. I'm glad they've parted ways, they're not meant for each other, but I think it was a great storyline that has come and now gone, branching off into a new territory as they approach new relationships.
Speaking of relationships, I'm really excited to see Jean and Kristen explore their feelings. I must admit, I haven't been a fan of them on the show at all, but this episode really made me excited to see them together, and really go for it. You really handled this brilliantly. I loved the scene where Kristen shows up in Jean's bedroom, and there's this awkwardness, and shyness to Kristen that I don't think we've seen before, and the way Jean acts around her -- they're just great together. I think it'll be fun to see how you approach these two, and I'm really keen on seeing this turn into what we know it will be (or at least, hope!).
Speaking of my views on things changing, I really grew to appreciate Felicia in this episode. I sort of love the fact that you're really embracing her personality in a less bitchy way than she came off at the start of the season. She's fun. She's a really fun character to read, and while I don't support Melanie/Felicia, I love how sexified the character is, and I think it could lead to a lot of awkward moments between the two. Honestly, Felicia was a highlight of the episode -- one of my favourite scenes is that scene with her, Gwen, and Haylee. It was great. Gwen, on the other hand, no matter how much I love the MJ/Melanie story, and their relationship, whenever Gwen talks about Melanie or shares her feelings in a vague or even obvious way, I feel for her, and I want her to be happy and get what she wants because she's such a nice, sweet character. Those death jokes, by the way, totally tore at my heart. My soul was practically weeping, you sick, sick writer, you! XD
My only real nitpick of the episode, which is so minor its ridiculous - but after a great build up, and a seemingly good execution of the fight and squabble between Jean and MJ, I felt it ended so abrubtly and forced that it kind of ruined the moment for me. I was a little disappointed at how it seemed to fizzle out. I think a better way to have done it was keep that argument fueled, and have them either leave, still heated, or have it interrupted by the Goblin arrival. Then you could have a scene between the two where they said what needed to be said. But, on the plus side, what a creative and fresh way to have these characters say what needed to be said, with the "better halves" around them. I think that was great. I just wish it wasn't resolved in such a loving "thank you" kind of way, when the drama of it all was so captivating. But honestly, the build up, and the fight itself, were brilliant.
NOTES * Jonnie was another character who was 'redeemed' in a way. I remember not liking her, and finding her pointless in the episode she was introduced in, or one of the episodes she appeared in prior to this one. However, in this episode, she was great! I really loved her role in this. * I'd love to see more of May/Melanie, whenever its relevant, because those two have such a great relationship! I loved how May tricked Melanie into thinking she'd be late! * One of my favourite moments was when we found out those photographs that MJ/Melanie were playfully taking (in another episode) was put to good use. I love that MJ's career could be launched with the push of Melanie, and I think, you know, it sort of strengthens their relationship that they can push each other to reach their dreams. Their friendship is great, and when they eventually do enter a relationship, whether it be this season, or in the show's 40th season, I just know it will be amazing. First, of course, I wanna see Gwen's feelings get some pay off with her and Melanie. *I have to give props. You balanced the emotion, and the action, and the drama of the episode perfectly. While there was more drama than action, the build up leading to the showdown was so intriguing, and I loved every minute of it. The big showdown with the Goblins was great, and I love how Karin popped up last minute and worked her thing.
I know I've probably missed something important that I wanted to talk about, but I think the important thing you know is that I was insanely impressed with this episode, and I consider it to be one of, if not THE best episode of Outcasts so far. I absolutely enjoyed it! The voice of each of the characters, the relationships, the drama, action, villains, and plot were all off the charts amazing. I could not be any happier reading a script. I'm really excited about the next two episodes that I've sadly missed, and well, what else can I say - bring them on! 10/10.
Melanie ... you have been missed!

Review: "Honour Thy Father"This episode was beyond perfect, and was a thrill to read from beginning to end. All in all, this has to be my favourite episode of the Outcasts, simply based on the amount of joy I got out of reading each and every little scene. All the characters involved were at their bests, and there was never a dull moment. I'm so glad you liked it that much! Like, honestly, I was not expecting that AT ALL. I said before that this episode was what I felt to be one of the worst. Not necessarily because the content was bad, but I think my reasoning was because the episode gave me so much trouble. The awkward setting (especially Outcasts being my FIRST script-writing attempt, ever) mixed with the fact that I had to get the writers together to help me out. We had issues in that department, and because I was paranoid about how the "new" writing of said writer's character was going to be received -- amongst other things -- I got really stressed out. This episode took two months to write because of that. It was a really irritating episode, so the fact that you got so much enjoyment out of it is definitely a good thing to hear. Maybe I need to stop doubting myself so much XD That, and where I fail, Maddie always takes up my slack and makes it awesome. We wanted to start that storyline early because it's going to be carried out through the rest of the season in some form or fashion. Not only that, but this particular storyline could perhaps expand PASSED season one and onward, simply because it's going to run so deeply. We definitely have plans for it regardless, and I can't wait for it to unfold. It was really important to us to make sure the relationship ended in a way that progressed everything. In the beginning when we actually made the decision to put Kristen and Mary-Jane together, this was our planned outcome. It would push both of them in the direction "they're meant to go", so to speak. It sets everything up, even if the specific outcome doesn't happen until way later. I'm really glad you enjoyed the scene and that it achieved its ultimate purpose. They may not have been the best couple, and we may never see them when they WERE at their best, but they still deserved a break up that wasn't trashy or rushed, or flat out pointless. I'm so glad you're excited for them! I love seeing people warming up to Kristen, as I know she got her start in a semi-bad light because of Mary-Jane and all of that. Her and Jean's relationship is one of my favorites, and I always enjoy doing their scenes with Maddie. It's awesome to know you're on the same page as us in that they're great together. These two get a lot more spotlight in the coming episodes that I can't wait to do, and I hope you enjoy it just as much as in this episode. We feel that they're the more "serious" potential relationship on the show, whereas characters like Melanie and Gwen, for instance, are more cutesy and playful. Not to say Kristen and Jean don't have playful moments, but they've got a higher level of maturity, I guess. I'll shut up now ROFL. Again, this is another thing that made me really happy. I love that Felicia is growing on you, too! XD She's definitely going to be getting more spotlight in the coming episodes, and has sort of her own storyline in the works as well. That, and we plan to have her as a full, main cast member if season two is picked up. All I have to say about this -- You're gonna LOVE episode eleven. Gwen/Melanie galore. Those death jokes, by the way, totally tore at my heart. My soul was practically weeping, you sick, sick writer, you! XD LMFAO! I'm sorry!!! I made the joke on accident! I wrote out Felicia's line, then whilst showing it to Maddie for approval, I realized just what I'd written. Then, we took it a step further with Haylee's line. I'm a horrible person, I know! XD!! There was a slight disagreement between the writers on that particular fight between them as well, but in the end we felt that if we left it open like that without resolving it right then and there, Jean and Mary-Jane would have ended up hating each other and never getting passed it. Or, maybe not never, but they are both stubborn, redheaded women who, had it not come to that conclusion, might not have ever let it go. There are several ways we could have done it, I think, but I personally found the resolution a better way in the long run. Though, I gotta say it might have been amusing to have them at each other's throats for a while XD But I think we're gonna have enough of that attitude from other characters in the coming episodes (and, hopefully, seasons). * Jonnie was another character who was 'redeemed' in a way. I remember not liking her, and finding her pointless in the episode she was introduced in, or one of the episodes she appeared in prior to this one. However, in this episode, she was great! I really loved her role in this. Jonnie is one of my favorite characters to write, and I'm so glad to be writing her in "Age of Heroes" as well. I wish I could have had more of her and Susan in this episode, but I'll leave that for Age of Heroes where it belongs. XD Jonnie will be making another appearance in "Fire and Ice" that I think you'll enjoy, too. Jonnie is one of the characters that will probably appear a lot in the Outcasts despite being on Age of Heroes, simply because of how close she is to Spidey. (and...possibly Iceman?). * I'd love to see more of May/Melanie, whenever its relevant, because those two have such a great relationship! I loved how May tricked Melanie into thinking she'd be late! I definitely want to show more of May/Melanie, especially considering how close they are. I want to start showing her with all the (major) characters, just because she will end up being an important figure in all of their lives at some point down the road. XD May tricking Melanie was great, even to write. You can definitely see where Melanie gets it from lmfao! The friendship between Melanie and MJ is definitely going to be one that just keeps getting stronger, though I can't promise that there won't ever be hardships or obstacles -- because what kind of horrible person would I be if I didn't throw them some curve balls. As for Gwen and Melanie...refer to the previous spoiler regarding them. >.> You see what I'm gettin' at? -shady sideglance- *I have to give props. You balanced the emotion, and the action, and the drama of the episode perfectly. While there was more drama than action, the build up leading to the showdown was so intriguing, and I loved every minute of it. The big showdown with the Goblins was great, and I love how Karin popped up last minute and worked her thing. I'm so relieved to hear that, you have no idea. I was afraid it was off-balance and wouldn't come out well at all, but you have definitely pushed me YET AGAIN to stop doubting myself so much lmfao! So, I thank you for that. 10/10. Thank you so much for the amazing review and rating, Jack! I appreciate it more than you know! The fact that you enjoyed it so much is inspiring, and has definitely got me excited for the series all over again. I can't wait to see what you think of "Operation: Repo" and "Carol of the Mutants"!

What the X-Men needed was a reboot, and this was it. I only read one episode, and I liked it. You may remember I did a VS at VBC-TV called Astonishing Spider-Man a year ago. I took the Lee/Dikto/Bendis route for my Spider-Man, but my Deadpool episode fell flat. I do write superhero fanfiction sometimes, and Outcasts could be the next AU Marvel hit since Ultimate Spider-Man. Good Job!

Thanks so much! Seeing as how we weren't sure how this series would be taken in the beginning, it's amazing to see how far its come and what the readers think of it. This was definitely nice to read, so again, thank you. ^^
