OMG. It's only hours away from showtime now! Currently going over both episodes for any last minutes edits/changes (would've had that done HOURS ago if my computer hadn't decided to throw the world' s biggest bitch fit at the very idea of cooperating with me) and then it's just a matter of time!

I just finished reading Along Came A Spider, the first script-form story I have ever read. While I was initially registered on this site in order to read The Outcasts as a favour for a very good friend of mine, I will certainly be staying.
I've never been a very big fan of Mary-Jane and Spider-Man, or Spider-Girl in this case, I have to admit that in this pilot episode, I could not help but fall in love with them. I won't be amused if I don't get to see any more of that.
I'm also the furthest thing possible from an Emma Frost fan, but how she was portrayed in the pilot was quite impressive. No, you won't be turning me to the dark side: I will be loyal to Jean for the rest of my life, and I can't wait to see her introduction into the series.
I wish I had the willpower to hold out on reading Seeing Red until it's closer to the air date for Demons Among Us, but you've got me hook line and sinker and I won't be able to help myself.
Congratulations and a round of applause go to everyone involved in the production of the series, I love it!

So I've been pretty slack when it comes to reading and reviewing the VPN shows lately (damn uni taking up my time XD) but I thought I should at least read and review the pilot of our newest show 'The Outcasts'. I was honestly a bit skeptical about how much I was going to like this series based off the pitch but I can tell you now that I'm quite impressed with how the first episode 'Along Came a Spider' has turned out. It was entertaining, full of action and the characters are easy to like (or dislike in the case of villains). I enjoy that you've jumped straight into the story with all these mutants/superheros already established. I think this was a very good decision on your part as to start the series with a big explanation on everyones origins would have been a bit dull in my opinion. Instead you manage to hook people by jumping straight into the action so props for that I really enjoyed the characters you've developed for this series. I was able to relate to them quite easily and get invested in their stories, Mary-Jane in particular. I'll admit it was odd seeing both my names being used for characters in a script (on the internet I go by MJ, in real life my name is actually Melanie) but thankfully their both awesome characters XD On a random note, the 'Hot Wheels' line really made me laugh so good job with the humour there. There were only two things that stand out as problems for me with this episode. The first is how Xavier knew that Melanie was Spider-girl. He pretty much calls her into the classroom and bam, he knows she's spider girl. I think it would have been a good idea to at least put in a line of dialogue that explained/eluded to how exactly he found out, especially since if I were in Melanie's position I would have wanted to know exactly that. The second thing I found a bit iffy was how you ended the episode. MJ and Melanie sitting down to watch the movie seemed like a natural end point to the episode and then to jump into a montage seemed a bit weird. If you really needed that end part I would have had that separated from the movie night scene by a new act OR after the end of the movie night scene skip straight to Xavier, Melanie and Euphoria standing outside the finished institute with a subtitle of 'x amount of weeks later' and then go on to your last scene. But that's just my opinion Anyway, overal I'm going to give the episode a 9/10. Besides those few things I pointed out it was a wonderfully constructed season opener and you've created a fantastic virtual series. If time permits I will defiantly be reading the rest of the episodes

I was honestly a bit skeptical about how much I was going to like this series based off the pitch but I can tell you now that I'm quite impressed with how the first episode 'Along Came a Spider' has turned out. It was entertaining, full of action and the characters are easy to like (or dislike in the case of villains). I’m glad that the first episode managed to change your minid, if only just a bit. It means a lot to me that I was able to turn it around, especially when I knew the pitch was a little…sketchy, I guess I can say XD I knew doing an alternate universe was going to stir some mixed feelings, but I’m glad that it seems to be well-received so far. I enjoy that you've jumped straight into the story with all these mutants/superheros already established. I think this was a very good decision on your part as to start the series with a big explanation on everyones origins would have been a bit dull in my opinion. Instead you manage to hook people by jumping straight into the action so props for that To be completely honest, I would have had to throw my own head through a wall if I decided to go into everyone’s origin story XD Too much background, too much hassle, and I wanted to throw everyone into the story and set it up, if only because I knew I’d HAVE to do a little “origins” on some of the mutants/X-Men when they start coming in. I eventually do want to explore at least Melanie’s past later this season, but it will be mixed in with other stuff so it won’t be the dull business we’re all afraid of. I refuse to bore anyone with something that would bore even myself XD I really enjoyed the characters you've developed for this series. That’s pretty damn awesome, MJ and Melanie being your names, I mean XD I’m glad you found it easy to relate to the characters. I’m finding that both Melanie and MJ have been favorites so far, which I love. I’m excited that everyone seems to be able to easily attach to them. Oh man. Melanie/Spider-Girl’s humor is one of my favorite parts of writing this. She is definitely going to be one of the main comic relief characters, much like her actual comic counterpart. You’ll be seeing a lot more of that in coming episodes…especially episode two. She is full of it. XD There were only two things that stand out as problems for me with this episode. I do admit I could have made that more clear in some form or fashion. When I did that scene, I went off the assumption that when it’s introduced that he’s a telepath, it would fall into place how exactly he’d learned that she was Spider-Girl, if either by her roaming thoughts or from curiosity on why she’s late all the time. But yeah, I definitely could have made that more clear for everyone. But that's just my opinion That whole ending was a little bit of a panic job on my part. Not the movie scene, but the montage and how exactly to go about ending it. I knew exactly what I wanted to end on, but getting there was a problem for me XD So I was a little nervous as to what to do, and this being my first series, I just went with what I felt would be easiest to understand regardless of whether or not there would have been a better way to do it. If I ever have to do another scene similar to that one, I will definitely remember your advice. Thanks! ^^ Anyway, overal I'm going to give the episode a 9/10. Besides those few things I pointed out it was a wonderfully constructed season opener and you've created a fantastic virtual series. If time permits I will defiantly be reading the rest of the episodes Thanks so much! I’m glad that you enjoyed the episodes despite its flaws and I’m honored that you took the time to both read it and write this review. Again, thanks so much, I really appreciate your feedback! ^^

No, you won't be turning me to the dark side: I will be loyal to Jean for the rest of my life, and I can't wait to see her introduction into the series. Two turn overs in one day? We’re on a roll here! Glad you enjoyed Euphoria’s presence in the first episode. She will be making a few more this season that will be equally as good, or at least I hope. Her and Spider-Girl’s banter was too fun to write to pass up. I have to let that happen again. Haha I wish I had the willpower to hold out on reading Seeing Red until it's closer to the air date for Demons Among Us, but you've got me hook line and sinker and I won't be able to help myself. Well, it’s not that long of a wait. Next Tuesday will be here before you know it, and then BAM Jean Grey! XD Congratulations and a round of applause go to everyone involved in the production of the series, I love it! Thanks so much, and we appreciate your feedback! We’re glad you liked it! ^^

I'm glad you're glad I liked it. And now for Seeing Red. I have to say that even though Kristen and MJ may have worked as a couple, I hated the idea of them. Hate hate hate hate hate. It was wrong on every level. /end rage I felt that Kristen was a little too relaxed during the scene where Spider-Girl walks in on them in the hospital. But the fact that she couldn't see, coupled with the fact that it could have easily been a nurse justified that a little. I felt really awful for Mary-Jane in relation to way Kristen treated her; as well as for Melanie for not knowing that MJ swung her way and that she was dating Kristen. A pretty large part of me saw it coming with Bobby, which can probably be put down to his name. XD But I have to admit I didn't see it coming so soon, and I liked that he and Kristen were friends before they were mutants. That was done well. But I'm also a little confused. Where was Kristen when MJ got Melanie to sit with her and her friends in the pilot episode?

I have to say that even though Kristen and MJ may have worked as a couple, I hated the idea of them. Hate hate hate hate hate. It was wrong on every level. /end rage -dies- XD Your outrage amuses me. I was expecting mixed feelings on this. I have a similar feeling toward them. Mixed ones, I mean. XD Though if I explain myself too much I’ll end up spoiling. << So I need to shut my mouth. You’ll just have to see how that plays out! I felt that Kristen was a little too relaxed during the scene where Spider-Girl walks in on them in the hospital. But the fact that she couldn't see, coupled with the fact that it could have easily been a nurse justified that a little. Yeah. That scene didn’t quite come out as planned, but there was little she could do being blinded and in a hospital bed. That was my original justification—she’s in a hospital, so it could be anyone. I felt really awful for Mary-Jane in relation to way Kristen treated her; as well as for Melanie for not knowing that MJ swung her way and that she was dating Kristen. Oh, don’t worry, I did too. I wanted to strangle Kristen myself, but then you also have to see it from her side of things. She thinks she killed three people, she’s a mutant, her family disappeared on her XD She really just wanted to be alone. At least she knew she was wrong XD As for Mary-Jane…that girl had no excuse not to tell Melanie, but at the same time, Melanie doesn’t really have a place to talk. I mean, she’s keeping a pretty big secret herself. A pretty large part of me saw it coming with Bobby, which can probably be put down to his name. XD But I have to admit I didn't see it coming so soon, and I liked that he and Kristen were friends before they were mutants. That was done well. Thanks! I’m glad that you liked that. Kristen and Bobby have a friendship that’ll we’ll end up exploring in later episodes. It wasn’t displayed that well in Seeing Red because of all the drama surrounding Kristen, but we saw little bits of it as I’m sure you’ve noticed. But I'm also a little confused. Where was Kristen when MJ got Melanie to sit with her and her friends in the pilot episode? Well, it’s been, albeit subtly, implied that lunch time is MJ’s “best friend time” with Melanie when Melanie isn't off being the school nerd that she is. XD It also comes down to Kristen not being a really social person. She wouldn’t want to be around a bunch of popular kids like Mary-Jane tends to associate herself with. Again, thanks for the review, Rachel! ^^

I'm about 25 pages into "Along Came A Spider" (wonderful title, by the way) and this is... just... amazing, already. Your show has got a very cinematic and exclusive style that really makes it stand out... and I'm loving every second (word?) of it. Melanie, I think, is a very strong protagonist and Spidey being a girl really works, because she gets to kick thug-ass while delivering hilarious lines... and the shock when the thug finds himself beaten by a lady adds to the feel. I'm already loving the chemestry between Melanie and MJ... I mean, really, loving it. They've got such a wonderful bond and I'm really melting at some of the things those two say to each other; great writing there. And let's not forget...
MYSTIQUE'S EYES ALREADY MADE A CAMEO! YEEEY!
I'll continue reading now and I'll post more comments on both this and "Seeing Red" together.

I'll continue reading now and I'll post more comments on both this and "Seeing Red" together. Wow, sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I went to respond a little while ago and my computer crashed on me and I lost everything I wrote. -sighs- So again, I'm sorry. I'm glad that you like it so far! I'm so excited about how much every seems to like it, it's extremely encouraging. It makes me happy that you think Spider-Girl is a strong protagonist. I love writing her scenes so much, because I love her humor and it seems to just...come out, I don't really have to try with her. XD I think she's going to be one of the characters (the other, right now, being Mary-Jane) that everyone will be able to relate to at some point over the course of the series. As for Melanie and Mary-Jane, I have to admit that I really, truly love all the wonderful feedback you guys have been giving them. I know I've said that 934809384 times, but I can't express enough how happy it makes me XD You guys love them just as much as Monica and I do, it seems! Mystique is one crazy woman XD We made sure to spam her throughout that episode, getting her behind the scenes one everything. She's a sneaky one. I can't wait for the rest of your review!
