CASTING EXCLUSIVE: Lucas Till Books Role of Henry 'Hank' Heywood!
With production of the first season underway, producers have decided to give away a few more details on the rebooted series. One among them being this spot of casting news regarding the character of "Hank Heywood III ," who fans of the original series know was filled by Benjamin McKenzie (Southland, The O.C.). With producers hoping to pull in a younger cast for the characters of Cynthia Reynolds, as well as Hank, McKenzie has been replaced by Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class).
VSGuide got the chance to catch up with Lucas for a quick word about his role on the show. When asked when and for how many episodes we can expect to see him on Trinity, Till responded, "My character will come into the picture in the second half of the first season. So, around episode seven. The role he plays is a bit similar to the characters role in the original series, with a few changes here and there." When asked how he is preparing for the role and how much he knows about the character, he said, "I haven't gotten a script yet. All I have right now is the breakdown of the character; his storyline and motivations for the first season. I know Cynthia Reynolds will sort of be the entry point for the character, so it'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds in the later half of the season. I'm excited!"
In regards to the original portrayer of Hank Heywood, Benjamin McKenzie, producers have speculated that they may have another role for him to play in the upcoming season. A 'straight and narrow detective' character with connections to Amanda Waller and the C.B.I.
This has been an official report from VSGuide! More details on the upcoming series will be provided when they are made available. Although no official premiere date has been set, producers have expressed their hope for a November 2013 premiere, depending on how well production moves along in the coming months.

The casting came down to Kellan Lutz, Zach Roerig and Lucas Till, but I ended up choosing Lucas Till because I wanted someone who looked (and actually was) a bit younger for the role of Hank I'm glad you approve! xD

The two actors I've been threatening to cast the most are Kellan Lutz and Theo James (and they were going out for the SAME character, way back when). Maybe I should pick a different show. They've both played vampires in the Twilight and Underworld franchises, respectively. Maybe they will find a place on "Hellbound." I've got a tendency to cast people who have either played or been in projects involving vampires (Sam Witwer, Milo Ventimiglia, Michael Socha, Kate Beckinsale, and the list goes on...)

loved the scene, although 2 things took me by surprise. The first was the description of Lana as a red-head got me thinking of Kristin with BRIGHT RED HAIR The second was the use of the term 'infected', but that's just a personal quibble, and I'm assuming/hoping as Lana's knowledge of people BORN with powers versus people who ACQUIRE powers grows and change, so will her opinion and terminology. Nice tease, though, Chris and Karl, looking forward to finally reading the WHOLE THING!!

So I was holding myself off from reading this until exams finished and HOLY SHIT. Dude, this first encounter is insane. I love it. And you've got a really strong grasp of the Lana Lang that I personally enjoy more, which was the S6/7 side to her where she was more driven, and determined, and had an edge to her that was kind of dark, but controlled. I love it. Kind of get chills at the part where they talk about her being off the grid for four years, and she's talking about working from the shadows. I was a little worried we wouldn't get much explanation, or allusion towards the huge time jump, but I'm glad its being hinted at, even within the first ten pages of the pilot. As for Quentin, man, he will always be one of my favourite VS characters of all time. The wit, and banter he has and can maintain with Lana is just gold. Jake Gold. Hahahahaha. Sorry. Looking forward to the reboot man.

Looking forward to the reboot man. Totally forgot to reply to this!! Sorry, Jack! XD Thanks for the feedback. I did look back at Lana's journey on Smallville recently, and noticed how I was writing her in the original series just didn't match up to the person she was. At least, not as much as I would have liked. I've still got a ways to go before she's starts really sounding like the same character, but I'm glad it shows in the writing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it as well! We'll get a lot of references to what Lana's been doing with her time, pretty early on. Also, we're going to be seeing a few flashbacks between her and Lucas Luthor, as he has played a solid role in the past four years of her life. The next scene I'll preview to you all will be Lucas' introductory scene, that he shares with Lana. And Quentin Jack O'Neal. Yup, his middle name is still Jack. haha! Writing Quentin is probably one of the easiest things I've ever had to do. So, I'm glad I haven't lost my grasp on that character, even though he's a little bit different than he was in the original - In very small ways; nothing too major. Again, thanks for the feedback, Jack! I really can't wait to get this show up and running.

Meet THE RECURRING STARS OF TRINITY
VSGUIDE had a chance to return to the set of "Trinity" and was able to meet some of the recurring characters that will play a role in the first year of Trinity.
Elizabeth Mitchell(V,Lost,Revolution), will star as the recurring character, Dr.Serling Roquette. She is the head genetist and head of the research divison over at Cadmus. When talking to CO-Creator Karl Hurd he had this to say,"She's witty. A bit of a smart-ass that you grow to love from like her first apperance. And i've been asked alot why an older woman is playing the character of Serling, when her comic character is younger. Well Chris (Davis)and I agreed even though she's a little older, she is the same character you would come to love from the comics. She is very protective of her job. Although she sometimes doesnt understand some of the things Cadmus has gotten up to." Karl also revealed that Amanda Waller and Roquette arent really close at all. "There relationship is sort of antagonistic. With the fact that Waller took over the position she wanted, and it causes a bunch of friction and tension that will be shown throughout the entire season."
Maggie Q (Nikita) will be playing the recurring role of Jade Nguyen aka Cheshire. Now as you all know in the original series, Cheshire was played by Jessica Biel and was only around for like two episodes. Well except our favorite assassin to be popping up sporadically throught out the season. "Jade is way different than when she appeared in the original series. For one, she's asian now. (Laughs) But in all seriousness, Jade is a character that is tough yet secretive and has a lot of issues that need to come to light. In this reboot, shes alot closer to Waller and is pretty much her right hand woman. We will see glimpses of how that came about and maybe even more backstory into who Jade is herself."
Ryan McDonell (Smallville, BattleStar Galatica) returns as Stuart Campbell. This cahracter first appeared in Smallville as an ally to Tess and then a mole for our blond heroine Chloe Sullivan. But a turn of events had him on Checkmates payroll. And the last time we saw him, He and Waller were trying to escape from a rage filled Kandorian. "Stuart is a fun character to work with because he is the character everyone will love. His backstory on where he's been for the last four years will definitely come into play when he reappears in episode 4. When we see him again, Stuart may still be the same lovable quirky guy, but he is definitely scarred and damage from the events in Smallville and some of the other things that have happened in this gap of time. So expect a more hardedned version to pop up." Fans should also note in the original series, Stuart had a strong past and history with Quentin O'neal. When asked if this still exists in the reboot, Karl says, "Oh HELL yeah. I mean that was one of the major factors of developing Quentin's storyline. Stuart is also one character who sticks by his morals. So take that piece of information carefully."
Darren Criss (Glee, A Very Potter Musical, Eastwick) will be starring as the mysterious Ezra Gilbert. In the original series there was a character similar to Ezra that was planned to appear but he didnt have a chance to make it to the big screen. "Ezra in the original series was just going to be a replacement for Quentin when a certain event happened and the team needed him replaced. He was also a love interest for the new character Chase Winters. But since the reboot happened, one of those storylines was scrapped." Ezra will appear in this series as bestfriend to Cynthia and totally skeptical about this government conspiracy surrounding Cadmus. "When Ezra first appears we see him as this one character who is worried about his friend and doesnt want her going off on some wild goose chase making her look like a crazy person." But Karl assured us that he wasnt just here for comic relief. "Ezra has a pretty decent storyline that is pretty much tied into the whole Cadmus debacle, and the one thing we learned about this show is that everyone has secrets including Ezra who just might not be keen on them coming out."
So there you have it. Four new stars join our show. What do you think of this? Sound off below!!!
