Episode #1-01: "Formation" Written by: Alex Matthews Produced by: The VPN
UPDATED 5/24/2013 - The version of the premiere will have several significant changes to certain subplots, while the main storyline will essentially remain the same. The reason for this is to allow the series to hold back several plot lines for possible later seasons, while also making sure that not every episode becomes a 'meta-freak of the week' story. Series creator Alex Matthews commented on this: "I realised that I was unconsciously mimicking several plotlines from both 'Watchtower' and the original 'Trinity' run, and while the shows DO exist in the same shared universe, M:SCU needs to stand on it's own legs without borrowing from those two shows TOO much." - The role of "Eric Marsh", played by Zachery Ty Bryan, has been increased to make it less of a cameo, and more of a proper 'guest star' spot. - Tina Majorino will still be a recurring guest star, but will no longer be part of the 'starlight' storyline that will run throughout the bulk of the season.
UPDATED 5/22/2013 - The VPN has released an official description for the premiere:[/font]
SERIES PREMIERE: NOT JUST ANOTHER CASE - When meta-human powered thieves attempt to rob the LexCorp building and kidnapped a young up and coming scientist, Captain Maggie Sawyer (Jill Teed), the tough as nails commander of Metropolis' Special Crimes Unit, a department under threat of dissolution, is assigned to the case. When medical examiner Dr. Beth Chapel (Tembi Locke) finds an unusual drug in the blood in one of bodies found at the crime scene, the case takes a strange twist, leading Maggie to solicit outside sources for more help. Recruiting Officer Danny Turpin (David Paetkau), a Metropolis PD officer with a tainted history but a no-nonsense attutude, the two work the case in order to prove the need for a department like the S.C.U. in a city rife with superheroes. Fran Kranz and Felicia Day also star.

I'm excited as well! I loved the concept of the "starlight" drug in the pilot. So, hopefully that returns to the series somehow. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing Lex on the show. He's always been a fun character to watch, read and write for! Good luck with the season, Alex!

cheers, guys, your support means a hell of a lot! Lex im nervous about writing, but at the same time, this will be the 'businessman' side, not the 'diabolical villian' of him, that will only be hinted at the end of the episode. Lana, I'm looking forward to taking a stab at, even if it's for a small scene at the end, just to establish a plot detail that may be expanded on later. I'm glad you liked the whole 'starlight' thing, Chris - it's going to be a semi-big part of the overall season arc, but at the same time, I plan on redrafting the pilot again, because I want to change certain aspects of what the drug can do. I finally remembered what inspired the name - Natasha Irons, in DC comics, the niece of superhero "Steel", who appeared after the 'death of Superman' arc, was given that as a code name when she joined up with Lex Luthor's "Everyman" project, which gave selected candidates superpowers by activating their meta-gene. Given what the drug can do, it seemed eloquent
