Episode #4-17: "Destiny" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN the Legion ring? We will see Kara in its episode? I don't want to talk too much about episodes outside of #410 - #415 because these are the ones that I'm working on at the moment that will air first (with another hiatus between #415 and #416 - #422). With that being said, I have no plans to bring Kara Kent / Supergirl on 'Watchtower.'

just i remember kara in season 2 trailer but in episodes she absent At the time there were plans to bring Kara in for the two-parter episode "War" from Season 2. But back when 'Trinity' was on theVPN, I believe Chris had plans for the character that were more than just a one-off that I had planned, and so I left the character to him. Haven't had a reason to bring Kara on since, and so it just hasn't happened. Chloe's more tied to Clark than his cousin.

And as for Supergirl.....she better come back later on. I mean I have an idea you could use for her. But that seems final season worthy.

But that seems final season worthy. At the moment, the title cards will be left up for interpretation. As for Supergirl, she's never been on the show, and so I don't really have a desire to introduce her into the world of 'Watchtower' in the final season. While it's too early to say "it's not going to happen," there are a lot of both main and reoccurring characters that have played major roles throughout the series that the final season would need to devote time to in order for a solid pay-off and closure. Perhaps it's a character that Alex Matthews can work with on MSCU

As a matter of fact... Although, to be honest, it's something I would like to possibly do, it's at least a season or so away - there's a possible spot in the S3 episode line up it might work in, but we'll see...

Oh( i think what Chloe and Kara could be good friends but it didn't shown in Smallville I'm sure they would be good friends. The only thing is, though, that Season 4 is all mapped out and then there's just 22 episodes I've yet to plan for Season 5 until the series is over. With what I do know about the final season, I'm not sure there's room for her to appear, let alone establish a good friendship between the two characters. Between Supergirl having a planned arc on 'Trinity' to being positioned as the lead of a Smallville spin off on theVPN, she's kind of been off my radar the entire series. And - as it is right now - I don't think there's room to explore her. Ok, but maybe Linda Lake return on one episode? Okay, so no Supergirl is the bad news. The good news is that there's a new Editor-in-Chief coming to the Gotham Gazette. The position was left open at the end of the mid-season finale, and it's going to be filled by episode 12, 'Partnership.' It could very well be Linda Lake. It might not. The answer will be in that specific episode

I'm gonna be the voice of discontent and pray for it NOT being Ms. Linda Lake. I'll admit, the character is a fun one, and Tori gave a brilliant scene-chewingly good performance in both her episodes. Her fight with Chloe (and then begin splat by Lana) is one of my fav fight scenes in "Smallville", and bringing her back in "Infamous" made for a memorable episode. But, honestly, what would she bring to the show? Especially as a possible recurring character? I mean a) her credibility was ruined WAY back in "Hydro", and then Davis killed her at the end of "Infamous", so why deal with the possible convoluted explanations of why she is suddenly back among the living, not to mention credible enough to take over as the new E-i-C of the Gazette. If the "partnership" in the title alludes to Vicki's new relationship with the editor, as well as the Batman/Gordon dynamic, wouldn't it be better to bring in someone Vicki may not have any negative preconceptions about... I mean, she's just managed to be rid of one bad-guy boss, does she really need another... ...unless that's your intention, Mr. Malone? Is this editor simply going to be another stooge for Maxwell Lord? (you don't have to answer that, btw, at least, not yet )

I'm gonna be the voice of discontent and pray for it NOT being Ms. Linda Lake. "Infamous" is definitely one of my favourite episodes of Season 8. She was a lot of fun. But I'm mostly just a sucker for when the writers decide they're going to reverse time because they go crazy and do things they'd never do if they knew it would be permanent. I'm not sure where you're up to on 'Watchtower' or how much you've read, but the mid-season storyline will focus on the corruption in the city, which is in direct response to the events that took place in 409. It specifically narrows in on the city leaders (the Mayor, The District Attorney), the GCPD, and in introducing a new Editor-in-Chief, there will be an exploration of corruption in regards to the media as well. Whoever will assume that role will need a certain level of doubt hanging over their head in regards to how good or evil they may be. I've said it's a familiar face, and Linda Lake was brought up (not by me). She is, however, a definite possibility, and there are more than five years worth of time between her last appearance and now to cook up some story for her that isn't "convoluted." There are also a handful of other characters I could pull from the past for this particular storyline. We will just have to wait and see! But in terms of Linda's credibility, that's a question that will be asked of any character that assumes the role as our heroes will be very suspicious of whether or not this person will perpetuate the same displays of corruption as others in the past, or if they'll be a force of good for the city moving forward. I will say the character I have chosen for this role brings a lot to the show and really enhances the storyline. Hopefully you will feel the same when it airs! Again, I'm not sure how much you've read of Season 4, but Vicki's response to Maxwell Lord joining the paper was to quit. The last time she tried to go toe-to-toe with the big bad wolf, her fiance was killed, so she's playing it safe this time. Whoever assumes the role of Editor in Chief will have more to do with Chloe than anyone else. That's definitely part of the "doubts" that will be hanging over the head of the new Editor-in-Chief. There's Gotham as it's own entity that has birthed its own corruption, and then there's these "big bads" that come in like The Key Crime Syndicate, The Joker, Hush and Maxwell Lord, who have their own plans. Episodes #10 through #15 will really navigate through that and see if we have city leaders, media and the GCPD that are good, corrupt, or on the very far end of the spectrum of evil that they're working for Checkmate.

Smallville at the end of season 9-metallo was a good guy,but in episode 10x20 it in the Legion of death. do you plan to enter it in the watchtower to explain this transition? Metallo would never really be a threat to Chloe, or anyone else on the show. At his core — literally — he's a threat to Superman, and so he's never been someone I've had on my radar to carry over from 'Smallville.' And on top of that, 'Watchtower' isn't really about continuing everything from 'Smallville,' and offering explanations for certain decisions they made in the final season, so I don't feel obligated to necessarily address it. I like to think the Legion of Doom / Marionette Ventures are what Superman was facing off against in Metropolis while we were in Gotham with Chloe. With that being said — and I could be totally wrong here — I think Alex Matthews explored Marionette Ventures in some capacity on MSCU.
