Exclusive: 'Watchtower' Books Season 3 Fan-Favourites Lisa Andrews and Ethan Bennett for Season 4 Return!
No one can stay gone from 'Watchtower' for too long! VSGuide has learned exclusively that Season 3 fan-favourites, Lisa Andrews (Lizzy Caplan) and Ethan Bennett (Alfred Enoch) are set to make big returns in an upcoming episode of Season 4. Both characters met tragic ends in their debut season — Lisa gave her own life to save her girlfriend Helena (Kayla Ewell), and Ethan was unwillingly transformed into the iconic Batman villain Clayface before he was killed by the woman he loved, Vicki (Yvonne Strahovski). Now, they are both set to resurface in the fourteenth episode of the season, appropriately titled 'Ghosts.' The 'Watchtower' creator was quick to comment on the exciting news.
"We're really excited to have Lizzy [Caplan] back on the show again," Malone boasted, "Lisa has played a monumental role in shaping Helena's journey from here on out and we're always looking for really exciting ways to bring her back into the picture." Malone revealed that Helena's PTSD from a combination of the Salvation games, Lisa's death and her own [in Season 3] is a constant challenge for the vigilante to battle day-in-and-day-out, and will serve as the catalyst for Lisa's return. "Something big happens that shakes Helena's world, and she starts to not only see Lisa again, but she starts to hear her again."
As for the fans who want to know whether or not Guido Bertinelli (Julian McMahon) could make an appearance — just like the rest of us want to know — the 'Watchtower' creator confirmed that he would not. "Helena's grief for her father's passing will always be present, but it doesn't feed into the trauma she's experienced from [Season 3] that has triggered this PTSD we're exploring in Season 4."
Also coming back for the episode is Ethan Bennett aka Clayface, portrayed by Alfred Enoch. "The character of Ethan Bennett was one of my favourites to write in [Season 3] and I so wish we had more time with the character before his descent into Clayface," Malone admitted, showing his excitement to write for the character again. However, fans might remember that by the time Season 3 ended, there were at least three different versions of Ethan Bennett floating around out there. For those of us who need a recap: Ethan's timeline is similar to Hush in that it's all over the place — after he became Clayface, Hush took Ethan into the past under threat of harming Vicki and he was complicit in faking Bruce's death [in Season 3, Episode 13 'DNA'] which called for the witch hunt against Selina Kyle (Eliza Dushku). When Ethan returned from the past and showed up at Vicki's doorstep, she broke up with him for killing Detective Ellen Yin — an act he hadn't technically committed yet — and told him to leave. He did. "The Ethan we see in this episode is from the present — a year after Vicki broke up with him — and just before he goes back into the past to kill Ellen Yin," series creator Jack Malone revealed. "This episode really fills in the rest of the puzzle for Ethan and we're going to learn why he had to kill Ellen Yin, and what propels him on this path of villainy that we expect from Clayface in the comic books."
The other fan-favourites previously announced to surface in the episode are Selina Kyle, portrayed by Eliza Dushku, and Kyle Williams/Hush, portrayed by Bryan Greenberg.
While Selina is expected to have a "satisfying" reunion with Bruce (Christian Bale) and a follow-up after her departure from the end of Season 3, Kyle Williams aka Dusan Al Ghul aka Hush is said to resurface for a "fitting conclusion" to the character's two-season arc. "You're going to see Bryan [Greenberg] in a handful of episodes in this mid-season chunk of [Season 4]," Malone told VSGuide, "He is still committed to fulfilling his father's prophecy — that one will rise and the rest will fall — and he's very much making an attempt to shape Maxwell Lord into the man that can fulfil such a task."
An airdate for 'Watchtower' Season 4 to return is yet to be set. In the meantime, which recently announced return are you most excited about? Let us know!

Episode #4-14: "Ghosts" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN UPDATED 07/03/2017 - Bryan Greenberg returns for his last episode of the season as Dusan Al Ghul/Hush. "Hush has scattered himself throughout time, and so who knows when the last time he'll resurface in these characters' lives will be, but this will be the last time he interferes in [Season 4]," the actor revealed. Exclusive: 'Watchtower' Season 4 Continues In April! The wait is almost over. VSGuide has learned exclusively that 'Watchtower' Season 4 is schedule to return in less than two weeks, debuting its next run of episodes April 3rd, 2017. The fresh batch of episodes will begin with the mid-season premiere, titled 'Kin' that follows up on some of the show's biggest cliffhangers, and will conclude with an all-out war expected to take place on May 8, with episode 15, titled 'Cavalry.' Along with a character-based preview of what's to come from series creator Jack Malone, TheVPN has released the specific airdates for each individual episode along with a brief description to prepare you for the latest chapter of 'Watchtower' Season 4. CLICK THE SPOILER TAG TO SEE A RECAP OF EACH CHARACTER'S ROLE IN THE MID-SEASON FINALE, AND WHAT'S IN STORE FOR THEIR FUTURES WHEN THE SHOW RETURNS IN APRIL. Chloe Sullivan / Watchtower
THE RECAP | When we last saw Chloe (Allison Mack), she had vowed to uphold's Sarah's (Vera Farmiga) dying wish to protect her son, Jimmy (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Meanwhile, during the attack on Gotham General, Chloe was cornered by the Red Hood and left a haunting phone message to Oliver (Justin Hartley) about how she always wanted him to have a relationship with their daughter. She used her potential-last-moments telling Oliver to give Hope the life they always wanted growing up. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Zatanna obviously warned Chloe about losing someone close to her and not being able to undo it this time, and that's the environment Sarah's death sets for her. You see Chloe start to live in this paranoia, and develop this desperation to save whoever fate might take in the future, and you see that start to bleed into the surface with Lana's suit malfunctioning, and Maxwell Lord targeting specific members from the team. Something shocking happens in [episode thirteen] that propels Chloe down a really dark path and her determination to stop Maxwell Lord prompts her to seek help from an unlikely source. Outside of all hell breaking loose, there's a lot to be explored between Chloe and Oliver as co-parents, as well her trying to find room for Jason in her very busy, very chaotic life that will soon involve another team-up with the ever-annoying Summer Gleeson, a recruitment process at ARGUS, and an encounter with the first ever OMAC machine." Bruce Wayne / BatmanTHE RECAP | Bruce (Christian Bale) enlisted the help of Victor Fries (Kelsey Grammer) to save Lana's (Kristin Kreuk) life, and offer Steve (Rick Cosnett) a moment to say goodbye before they put her on ice. This prompted Bruce to realise how short life truly is, which pushed him into the arms of Vicki Vale (Yvonne Strahovski). He confessed his feelings, and the two...did the deed. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Bruce shared this really beautiful moment with Vicki in the [mid-season finale], but it occurred during a moment of epiphany and with this high-on-life mindset, so when he wakes up there's a hesitancy and a doubt about whether or not he's doing the right thing. Bruce, like so many on the show, is unlucky when it comes to love. He talks about how his relationships with Vesper Fairchild, Selina Kyle and Talia Al Ghul didn't just end in heartbreak but ended in death for those three women, and he doesn't want Vicki to share the same fate. So he's kind of avoiding the much needed talk. As Batman, his partnership with Gordon is going to be re-examined after everything they've been through, and we finally reach a point in that dynamic where the idea of redemption doesn't seem so nonexistent. And there's a lot of things sprouting out from his past such as his ties to David Cain, who he'll be desperate to find after crossing paths with his daughter Cassandra, and then of course there's Selina Kyle who stumbles back into Bruce's life with some very shocking news." Helena Bertinelli / HuntressTHE RECAP | After a night of "intense love-making," Helena (Kayla Ewell) had to rush her newly-labelled-girlfriend Katherine (Deborah Ann Woll) to the hospital where she met her potential future father-in-law, Jacob Kane (Mitch Pileggi) and fought to save him from The Red Hood Gang. The horrifying night ended with Helena and Katherine curled up on a cough, sharing a beer together. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Helena and Katherine probably have the most healthiest and happiest of relationships that we've ever seen on the series, and that's going to continue in [Season 4]. They kind of make a pact at the beginning of this mid-season arc where Helena tells Katherine that she's lost everyone she's ever cared about or fallen in love with and Katherine tells her that she's not going anywhere. It's a nice little agreement they have because Katherine is going to get involved in some really messy situations where she may not necessarily want Helena getting involved too, but when she does, Helena reminds her of their pact and it allows Katherine to get a clearer perspective of the situation and allow her girlfriend to pitch in and help her out. While Helena is amidst a lot of happy, it's not too long before a storm cloud surfaces over her. Something pretty upsetting happens in her world that unravels all the work she's been doing to control her PTSD, and it triggers these pretty realistic visions of Lisa that bring all those painful memories back up again. But she has an anchor in Katherine, and seeing whether or not they can overcome the storm will be a huge part of her story this season and I think we're all on the same page here in thinking Helena deserves to be happy. Whether that's obtainable awaits to be seen."
Vicki Vale THE RECAP | While Vicki played her usual role as a source of support for Bruce during his guilt-ridden revelation that a closer bond with Gordon might have prevented Sarah's death, she ended the episode in a new role as Bruce's lover. WHAT TO EXPECT | "We also follow Vicki's perspective the day after she slept with Bruce, and she's moved beyond having doubts to being pretty royally pissed off that Bruce isn't returning any of her phone calls. When they do eventually cross paths — for something completely unrelated and life-and-death levels of serious — Vicki is able to share a moment of levity with Bruce even though he continues to push his feelings aside. The reason they would work as a couple is because they are equals, and they have gone through similar losses, and that's where Vicki's perspective is so eye-opening because she's seen every man that she's ever been in love with die. So you'll get to see them try to navigate through their fears and hopefully reach a middle ground. Outside of their blossoming romance, Vicki is going to continue to be that source of unconditional support. We have Lucius Fox's husband suiting up for an episode, which causes some conflict due to his inexperience, but Vicki is the one to see how much it means to him and really urges him to persevere. There's also a really great moment between Vicki and Chloe in [episode thirteen] that discusses how much she's grown in the past three seasons and how she's kind of taken on Chloe's role during her absence [between Season 3 and Season 4]. And to top it all off, we've seen Vicki and Maxwell Lord butt heads all season, and there's a confrontation coming up between those two that's going to be quite the game-changer. I've enjoyed writing their feud and it's exciting to see it intensify at just the right point."
Jim GordonTHE RECAP | After proposing to his girlfriend, Gordon and Sarah were set for a happily ever after. That was until Sarah discovered her son was The Red Hood, and sacrificed a life with Gordon to save her son and run away with him to keep him safe. Unfortunately, Jimmy wasn't keen on the idea of running away for the rest of his life, and killed his mother, leaving Sarah to die in the arms of a horrified Gordon. Now, he's vowed to find Jimmy and kill him. Just wait until he finds out that Jimmy kidnapped Barbara Gordon. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Gordon has been on a very dark path all season, and now he's lost the woman he loves, and the son that was a symbol of his redemption and his shot at a second chance, and so you're going to see him go off the rails a little bit. He's determined to kill Jimmy, which puts him in direct conflict with Chloe, who has vowed to honour his fiance by protecting Jimmy. So it's an interesting predicament in the [mid-season premiere]. We're also going to get a nice look at Gordon's life with Barbara Kean — Barbara Gordon's mother — and a look at how he first met Sarah, and a few special glimpses of their relationship and how it began all those years ago. Outside of his grief, there's a big career opportunity coming up for him that's going to take the character and the show in a new direction. And an old enemy will reunite him with Batman in a way that starts to repair their relationship. All the threads connecting Gordon to the world outside of his family were kind of torn to shreds at the end of [Season 3] and the beginning of [Season 4] and now we're in the process of seeing which threads can stitch back together and which are gone forever."
Lana Lang THE RECAP | After opting for the surgery to remove the bullet close to her heart, Lana's Kryptonite infection continued to spread and Bruce and Steve were forced to find another way to prevent her from dying. With the help of an old enemy, Lana was sustained in ice — where she could be preserved until a way to extract the suit could be found. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Obviously we won't be putting Lana on ice and then locking her away for the next six episodes, so I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say that she doesn't stay on ice for too long. What I can tell you is that the Prometheus suit was designed and originally intended for use by Lex Luthor, and he's the number one man to ask how to remove it. So he comes back in the [mid-season premiere] and we do get to offer a Lexana reunion. Personally, I'm a huge fan of their dynamic on 'Smallville.' There's a scene between them that I've had pictured in my head for the longest time and actually getting the chance to write it was extremely satisfying. Outside of this reunion, removing the suit isn't a one-and-done thing. It's not a simple task. And there's one huge risk involved in the removal of it that is going to make you just as nervous as Chloe because Zatanna's prophecy was 'once it is done, it cannot be undone.' As a result of this storyline, we do get to flashback and see what Lana was up to after she broke up with Clark in the barn and left to embrace her own destiny. It's there where she will cross paths with two very familiar faces. And there's also a lot of references in these flashbacks to 'Trinity,' created by Chris Davis. The show is no longer canon to the universe, but I absolutely adored that series and want to honour it in a way that I hope the fans will appreciate. Outside of all the suit-related drama, you'll get to see more Lana at ARGUS, and more of Lana's relationship with Steve. There's some conflict that arises between them in this mid-season arc, and you're going to see if Lana Lang and Steve Trevor are truly meant to be together or not."
Katherine Kane / BatwomanTHE RECAP | After Katherine suffered a few severe heart palpitations and later passed out at Gotham General, it was revealed that when she was stabbed on the night of the Hush attack, she was left with a pressing heart condition. While her heart was definitely tested when her father was trapped inside Gotham General with The Red Hood on the loose, it was newly-labelled-girlfriend Helena who eased her heart and made sure they ended the night a lot better off than it started. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Katherine has a huge role coming up that I'm very excited about. Her role at the Saviour Foundation is proving to be an asset to the City Leadership who realise that they could use her foundation as a way to vet police officers and ensure that there are no more corrupt cops working for the GCPD. While it takes some convincing for Katherine to sign the dotted paper and join the Mayor and the DA in creating a stronger police force for the city, Helena is pretty adamant about her distrust of someone in the higher ups, and it really opens the floodgates on corruption. We've seen corruption exist in Gotham for the past four seasons, and Katherine is going to be sharing a lot of scenes with someone who is the direct cause of Gotham's corruption — and someone who we'll learn has worked with The Joker and the Key Crime Syndicate, and Alberto Falcone. So Katherine isn't in the best of company right now. Outside of her work-life, there's going to be a strengthening of her relationship with Helena, and a lot development to be had there. They only just agreed to be girlfriends, which is a big step for them, and so it's about seeing if they can continue to work as their relationship grows more serious, especially in their line of work." Oliver Queen / Green ArrowTHE RECAP | When we last saw Oliver, he had discovered that he fathered a child with Chloe Sullivan and he was furious at the fact that Chloe kept his little girl from him for all this time. When Chloe offered him proof that they were essentially soulmates — hello, season one flashbacks — and stressed that she didn't exactly have a choice considering he had no memory of her or their child, Oliver was able to finally understand Chloe better and grew to trust her enough to help her take down The Red Hood. But just as they were growing closer together, Oliver returned home to find Dinah offering him an ultimatum: a life with her or a life in Gotham. WHAT TO EXPECT | "Oliver's life has completely changed from the moment he first showed up in [Season 4]. He's now aware that he fathered a child, and that he was on the cusp of settling down with a woman believed to be his soulmate. The only problem is that while he's coming into the information of this wonderful life he had, he's on the cusp of solidifying a life with his current soulmate, Dinah Lance and — prior to Chloe popping up on his radar — was ready to settle down in Star City with the love of his life. So it felt right taking away the engagement, and offering that life to Oliver again now that he's fully aware of everything. And his response is going to be quite surprising. Elsewhere, there's a lot of great scenes coming up in the [mid-season premiere] between Oliver and Lex. They've both suffered from memory loss, and find a way to relate on a level they never could before. And beyond that, you're going to see him step up in his role as a father. There's a lot of story there in Oliver and Chloe being co-parents, and seeing Oliver bond and have a relationship with Hope. Hopefully it's what the audience is interested in seeing for Oliver, too." Maxwell Lord THE RECAP | Maxwell Lord (Gil Bellows) has had a bit of a rough start when it's come to his diabolical plans for the city of Gotham. He was bested by Tim Drake (Logan Lerman), had his hand sawed off by a vengeful Killer Frost (Jaime Pressly) and now it seems like he's left his role as Editor-in-Chief of the Gotham Gazette. But in the closing minutes of the mid-season finale, it was revealed he has an ace up his sleeve by the name of Cassandra Cain (Teresa Ting). WHAT TO EXPECT | "Maxwell Lord takes a bit of a back-seat in these next few episodes. He posed such a big and prominent threat in the first handful of episodes of [Season 4] and it felt like it was time to see his mind work and to see him work a strategy. During his time laying low, he comes face to face with Hush, who kind of views Lord as his last ditch effort to fulfil his father's prophecy. Hush comes from a future where Maxwell Lord is long since dead and buried and so he kind of throws him this information dump to better prepare him for Team Watchtower. By the time it's [episode thirteen], Lord is ready to reemerge and take Chloe and co on in a monumental way. He's had a few losses so far, but you're going to see him on quite the winning streak in a way that changes the game forever. And once you meet his OMAC machines, I think you'll come to realise what Chloe and her team is realising, and that's that Maxwell Lord is probably their toughest challenge yet."
So, there you have it! Let us know your thoughts about what's in store for when Watchtower Season 4 returns April 4!

After a shitty week, this was a pleasant surprise and I am so ready for S4 to continue. Im enjoying that you are making Bruce and Vicki work for their relationship and I wonder if Selina and Vicki will get some screen time together. Also, Chloe and Vicki having more screen time together. I am enjoying it alot. Vicki and Lucius are a good friendship too and I cant wait to see them go toe to toe with Maxwell Lord. Oliver and Chloe co-parenting is going to be very interesting to see. I also would love to see Dinah come around some, considering that we all know she is going to say yes to Ollie's proposal Putting Steve and Lana through drama is just RUDE. I ship it more than life itself. But I am really curious about Lana's history after smallville (P.S. Delighted that there will be "Trinity" easter eggs) Having the ARGUS back up on Watchtower has felt well earned. With Team Watchtower expanding even more this season, its nice to know that they have some military help if shit gets too side ways With Barbara popping up more, will she be working with Team Watchtower? Or on her own? All in all. Cant wait for the new episodes

After a shitty week, this was a pleasant surprise and I am so ready for S4 to continue. Sorry to hear you're having a bad week, buddy I've had a lot of fun writing Bruce and Vicki's dynamic this season. When I first introduced Vicki in Season 2, I convinced myself that I would find a point in the series to pair them up, but it just never organically came together until Season 4. But I think everything they've been through has made it worth it and made their dynamic in Season 4 really strong. Hopefully it continues on that trajectory and you enjoy it As for Selina, unfortunately she won't have any scenes with Vicki. But she will have some thoughts to share about Bruce and Vicki's potential romance. Vicki has really become that strong support unit, and so its become really easy to link her up with other characters. I particularly love her friendship with Lucius. I would love to find time to go back and see what they were like saving the world together when it was just them between seasons three and four. We saw a little of it in the Season 4 premiere, but it was so fun I'd love to do more. As for Chloe and Vicki's dynamic, I always think back to Season 2 when Chloe had a choice to save Oliver or Vicki, and she opted for Oliver. And Vicki confronted her about it later saying "You were wrong. I'm not as fragile as you think I am." And Chloe said something along the lines of "It wasn't because I didn't believe in you - it was because I did. You had to save yourself. You needed to find that strength on your own." It's how their relationship has always been in my eyes. Vicki reminds Chloe of herself in a lot of ways, and Vicki's always been on this trajectory of becoming more independent, being a lot more stronger and confident, and we reach a point in Season 4 where Chloe is able to see how much Vicki has evolved and they're kind of equals now. So it's nice to steal a few touching moments between them. Hopefully the result matches the hype for their upcoming scenes There's going to be a lot more Dinah coming up. I know she makes an appearance in episode 10, 'Kin.' I'm trying to work one or two scenes of her into episode 15, 'Cavalry' that I'm writing right now. She'll feel like one of the main cast in the back end of the season, from about episode 18, 'Ceremony' through to episode 22, 'Checkmate.' Her focus in Season 4 has been her relationship with Oliver in a lot ways, and her relationship with Gotham City. There's some conflict there because of her experiences. The back-end will be less focused on relationship drama, and more on her kicking some serious ass. So there's that to look forward to It's fun writing Chloe and Oliver as divorced parents. That's how it feels at the moment, because now that Oliver knows about Hope, both of their interests are what's best for her, and they're in a position now to negotiate, and to figure things out for her future. And as much as Chloe struggles with seeing Oliver but not being able to be with him, it's a huge relief to her that Hope finally has Oliver, and can know the man she was happy to start a family with. So it's bittersweet in a way. I know people were worried that I was going to just push an instant Chlollie romantic-reunion or give Oliver his memories back, but I said from day one that there were new stories to tell out of their new dynamic, and this is definitely a part of that! 'Watchtower' hasn't focused on romantic relationships that much throughout the series. I think its because I kind of detest "ships" and it's not something that I care all that much about. I'd sacrifice a ship for more character moments any day of the week. And so when I started Season 4, I wanted to do things I hadn't done in the past and one of those things was romance. Steve and Lana made a lot of sense. I've had a lot of fun writing them (catchphrase of my life). The "drama" really stems from who Lana is as a character, and the experiences she's gone through in her very tragic love-life. It's something that is a big red flag for her when it comes to dating, so it's not going to be some forced roadblock or something that is born out of doing drama for the sake of it. Hopefully that's how it will come across. There's a lot to look forward to if you're a fan of this couple, and a lot to prepare yourself for as well. I think one of the more exciting aspects of their dynamic is figuring out if they're meant to be together — because comics would suggest they don't — and its a question asked and answered in this mid-season arc. I threw a few easter eggs from Trinity into Lana's first appearance in Season 3, episode 17 'Wanted.' But there's going to be a lot more in episode 13, 'Extract.' Hopefully there's a greater understanding of what Lana's been up to and what she's been through since she left 'Smallville.' I'm not a fan of jumping all over the place with flashbacks — doing a "YEAR ONE" then "YEAR TWO" then "YEAR THREE" and so on — and so we pick up at a specific time. But it does offer a picture of what she's been doing and where she's been, and sets her up for when she showed up in Season 3. It connects those dots in a way that make her sudden appearance in Season 3 feel more warranted and make a lot more sense. And TALIA AL GHUL is in the episode. I'm so damn excited for you guys to read it! Yeah, it will definitely come in handy. Episode 12, titled 'ARGUS' focuses on one of their missions in the fight against Checkmate, and it's nice coming back to Steve Trevor and Zinda Blake. One of my favourite episodes of all time was episode 7, 'Elseworld' and I enjoyed writing all the ARGUS scenes. I feel like it'll be amplified when the time comes to take Lord down. Barbara is in two more episodes for the season, episode 10, titled 'Kin,' and episode 12, titled 'Partnership.' I do have an idea to see her back in the finale, or an episode prior, but we'll have to wait and see. I won't say too much about her arc, but we do need closure for her tumultuous relationship with her father, an idea of what her life's been like in Bludhaven with Nightwing, and to see how she functions as her own hero. So that's kind of what her arc offers in those two episodes. I don't think she has any scenes with Chloe or "Team Watchtower" in that regard. A lot of scenes with Gordon and Bruce/Batman. But hopefully that's something to still get excited about. There's a scene where she kicks some serious ass, and it's one of my favourite moments. It's in episode 12, and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when it airs Thanks so much, buddy! I've missed your feedback/input. I appreciate it, especially when you're making the effort after a bad week. Means a lot!

Cant wait for Martha to help save Lana and if she's been in contact with her boys That's all good, man. I've really enjoyed bringing some new characters on the show this season. I think the more Lucius grew in these past two seasons, the more I wanted to know more about him and so bringing in Karl allows us to see another power-couple for the show, and to see the consequences of Lucius becoming Batwing. I've never really explored a dynamic where there's a hero, and the spouse at home knows nothing about it, so it was fun to see that perspective and then to see it evolve to adapt this new life. Plus, I've ran out of characters to stumble into Watchtower and be like "oh my godddddd" so that was fun, too. There's quite a bit coming up for him in the rest of the season, so I hope you like it! Cassandra Cain made a lot of sense to introduce when I realised what I wanted one of Bruce's arcs to be this season. Back in Season 1, Bruce was framed for the murder of Vesper Fairchild and we never found out who killed her, and why he was framed (although the 50th episode kind of answered it in an alt. reality). So bringing in Cassandra Cain will feed into that story, and hopefully tie up some loose ends for the series! As for Martha, I'm pretty excited about what her story will be. There's also a nice Birds of Prey reference surrounding her in episode 13, and to write scenes with Martha Kent, Lana Lang, Steve Trevor and Talia Al Ghul all present... it's insane. As of now she'll just be in the 3 episodes, but knowing me and how I usually bring a lot of characters back in the final few episodes of the season, there *could* be more.

Martha Kent returning is always a fun affair. I cant wait for you to do a scene with Chloe, Clark AND Martha. That would be amazing. Karl has been a fantastic addition even though he had one episode. Since he is new to team watchtower, what can you tell us about his storyline for the rest of the season? Im totally in suspense. As for Cassandra, can we please get her in that bat suit? She had the shortest time as Batgirl and she would be famtastic as Batmans sidekick. I can already see her clashing with the others.

Martha Kent returning is always a fun affair. I cant wait for you to do a scene with Chloe, Clark AND Martha. That would be amazing. Episode 17 It's been really fun writing this character. As I said, it's a new perspective and anytime there's a chance to bring an outsider into the show who looks at the world differently — much like Jason Bard has been for this season — it's a fun writing experience. Karl is a blogger. That's how he makes his living. And he's just stumbled across this bombshell that his husband works with the vigilantes. It's something that Karl is completely fascinated with and can't seem to let go. While it's this incredible-awesome-spectacular thing on the one hand, Karl's reaction to it is quite different because it makes him feel inadequate in his own world, and in his own life and that bleeds into his marriage, too. So that's kind of the groundwork for him to suit up. Unfortunately, Lucius was barely keen about himself leading this life, so he won't be too happy if he finds out about Karl becoming 'The Ranger.' And Vicki's unique perspective on it is that if the city has to prepare for war, and Maxwell Lord is going to send this army into Gotham, then if Karl — or anyone other person marked a civilian — is suiting up and fighting back, then they stand a better chance of surviving. So while Karl's little arc seems quite detached from the rest of the chaos ensuing in these next few episodes, it has a larger significance to the story. Beyond that, it's nice to explore Lucius' marriage and family life, and anytime there's an opportunity to visit it through Karl, you'll see him pop up again. Karl's big episode is episode 11, 'ARGUS.' He doesn't appear in any of the other episodes scheduled to air in this next run, but his presence is still felt in at least two more episodes! There'll be more in the back half, for sure! It's certainly way too soon to see Cassandra suit-up or join the crusade. She's basically been raised as this perfect assassin that Checkmate wants to unleash on the heroes. So when she's introduced, she's very much just a weapon for Lord to point at his enemy. Fortunately, there's something about her that trumps any direct order, and exploring that will also connect back to Bruce in a really big way.

Im digging it. Im honestly excited that you are finally doing this arc. I cant wait to see "The Ranger" in action.
ARGUS has been my favorite. I feel dumb, but did you already discuss who leads them?
Jason Bard and Chloe are a really cute couple. I honestly like the fact that they make every scene they have together, ones i always smile at.

Jason Bard and Chloe are a really cute couple. I honestly like the fact that they make every scene they have together, ones i always smile at. ARGUS is run by Steve Trevor. The next in line would be Zinda Blake. Other known agents are Lana Lang (of course), and Pete Ross was referenced in Season 3 as being her "handler." Another mention of it will be in 413. If you're a fan of Jason/Chloe, there's a lot more development and focus coming up for them. Jason definitely sees that there's something still between Oliver and Chloe, and kind of has to figure out if he's okay getting involved with someone who had this whole other life and has a family, and you'll see him start to confide in someone and seek advice about whether or not he should pursue his feelings for Chloe. He's also going to play a role in the Cassandra Cain storyline, and have some interactions with Maxwell Lord in the future. As for Chloe, I think she's in a very complicated situation, but exploring her life post-Oliver is part of the plan for Season 4 and it's something that has been really satisfying to write. She deserves to be happy, and seeing what happiness might look like for her as the season unfolds is going to be something I want to show, and something I want to answer. So yeah. There's a lot more Chloe/Jason coming up!

Also, kudos for bringing Selina back. Hope she gets a scene with Maxwell Lord or Waller I genuinely love Selina Kyle / Catwoman. I know that might not come across since she hasn't been a regular character since Season 2, but I do love her. I will say that her appearance in episode 14, 'Ghosts' is more about her and Bruce and her storyline in Season 3. Selina doesn't deserve to be threaded into everything that's going on with Maxwell Lord, which was kind of the reason why she wasn't back as a main this season. I felt like she earned a year of happiness, and no one stays happy for too long on 'Watchtower,' so that meant not having her back for 22 episodes. In terms of the structure of the series, seasons 1 through 4 are one big chapter, and Season 5 — the final season — will feel like an epilogue to the series. With that in mind, this episode for Selina will offer some resolution to everything she's had to endure in the past three seasons, and I'm really excited to see the reaction to her arc in the episode. There's some great Bruce/Selina stuff, some more answers about the whole "nine-lives" thing she's got going on, and a pretty big reference to the comics that I finally get to do, so while I can't offer you Selina/Lord or Selina/Waller scenes, there's still a lot going on for her!

Vicki gets to have a round 2 Also, any chance of the Legion showing up again before the Season is over? They are heavily connected to Chloe considering she is an anonomly and isnt tied to Destony anymore Speaking of Chloe's destiny, when will the first hints of that get resolved?

I'll take it. However, im still salty Kyle never got to enjoy where team watchtower is. I will say, Hush coming back is going to be the coolest shit ever. Vicki gets to have a round 2 I promise we will see Kyle/Echo again in the future. It just won't be this season. But he is definitely scattered throughout time just like Hush/Dusan Al Ghul is. It just felt like there was more of an opportunity to tell more stories about Hush in this particular season than getting to see Kyle show up again. But I wasn't lying when I said you'd see Kyle — the "hero" — again. I'm not sure if you'll see the Legion this season. There's an episode where it could be a possibility, but I haven't locked anything in yet. You'll definitely see their ring come into play, though The answer to that is in episode 17, appropriately titled 'Destiny.' The funny thing is, it's already kind of been answered but it hasn't been put together in a very specific way and offered to the audience or to Chloe, and that's what this episode does. She's going to find out just as everybody else does, but her reaction will be more of a 'shock' and I think the audience's reaction will be more of an " oh."

And very interesting detail about the Legion. Makes what you have in store for them, something to look forward too. That ring really needs to get taken from this cast I swear.

Im glad we will eventually see "Echo" again. He was cut off too soon.haha He felt specific to Season 3 and it's storyline. Similarly to Davis Bloome in Season 8 of 'Smallville,' in that you could have probably kept Davis around after they split him from the beast, but they probably wouldn't have too much to do. With Kyle, I liked the idea of him tragically being bound by time. Hush is bound by time too. They both "die" in the Season 3 finale. But the fact that they could time-travel, and the fact that there's points in time during Season 3 where Kyle was "lost" in time, and Hush was jumping back and forth to bring in bad-guys from the future, it opens the doors for more stories. I get to tell some more story related to Hush/Dusan Al Ghul in these next few episodes, and I have a pretty cool idea to see Kyle show up in Season 5. No one stays gone for too long on 'Watchtower!' The perks of being based on comics, haha! Season 2 definitely has the most hints towards it. I think I was going to flat out reveal it that season but decided to postpone it to Season 4. Well, someone is going to die this season and "what is done cannot be undone", so maybe the ring *does* get taken from them I've always had a big death planned for Season 4 (it's just that I hadn't known who would fit the bill until around Season 3). The death is crucial for how the season reaches its conclusion, and how we come back for Season 5. But it was last season — where I had Hush infiltrate Watchtower and kill/injure so many people only for them to be healed and brought back — that I wanted to explore the tools of resurrection and see what happens when they don't work and someone can't come back. So that's why you'll be seeing the Legion ring, and the Lazarus Pit, and whatever other modes of rewriting fate exists out there. We've only ever had the Legion ring show up twice, I think. It was involved in the Season 1 finale (along with the Legion showing up), and it played a role in the episode where a future Hope surfaced, in Season 3. I guess this would mark the end of the "legion" trilogy, because it'll be the last time it makes an appearance!
