After 4 years I better know the difference between the two of them I'm honestly excited for this new season. As much as I disliked some of her decisions last season, any chance for Dinah to come back to Gotham?

Just In: The Last Bat-Family Character Announced For Season 4 Premiere: Enter Batgirl... Kind Of! The Watchtower Season 4 premiere is already shaping up to be the biggest Bat-Family episode of the series, and there's one more character to add to that roster: enter Batgirl... kind of. While fans of the show might realise that Barbara Gordon (Emma Stone) went on to become Oracle, instead of the identity as Batgirl prior to this transition as is in the comic book mythology, series creator Jack Malone assures fans that their eyes aren't deceiving them, and confirms: "Barbara Gordon isn't going to be Batgirl in our universe." Before you all start raising your knives and pitchforks at the 'imposter' who will be donning the suit in the upcoming season premiere, titled 'Restoration,' VSGuide gave the 'Watchtower' creator a moment to explain his decision.
"First and foremost, this show has always been about the character of Chloe Sullivan, who just so happens to be amongst the world of Batman in this series," Malone began, reminding viewers that the show isn't purely about the character of Batman, "The character of Barbara Gordon worked best in our story as a character who both mirrored and contrasted Chloe, but could essentially offer something to her and not necessarily, and definitely not primarily Bruce Wayne / Batman. As a result, I decided the route of Oracle would be best for her [on Watchtower] as opposed to Batgirl."
Despite the commitment to having Barbara become her latter persona rather than her former, Malone has announced that Batgirl would be making an appearance in the first episode back of the fourth season. "Our Batgirl is very much an homage to the persona that has been adopted by multiple characters throughout the comic book mythology, and it is very much an extension of The Batman, who [on Watchtower] was seen shot and killed by Gordon at the end of [Season 3]." Malone continued by confirming that it will be a new character who adopts this persona, and that it will be a very brief, but pivotal moment in the upcoming premiere. "It's very much the precursor to another character's introduction within the fabric of our show and season that we're just as excited about and it will hopefully be just as welcomed by the fans."
On the question of whether or not Batgirl would be making multiple appearances throughout the season, Malone confirmed that the intent behind the appearance is very much a one-time thing. "It may seem insignificant to say she is only going to show up for a tiny fraction of just one episode, but I promise it's going to be a memorable fraction of just one episode." As for the identity of the Batgirl, Malone refused to give any hints.
So, what are your thoughts on a Batgirl appearance? Do you wish to see Barbara in the suit some day, some way, somehow? Are you excited to see a new take on the character? Let us know in the comments below!

Jack.... This could be us right now on Watchtower: BUT YOU BE PLAYIN.jkjk I am really excited that you are bringing in Batgirl. And my joke aside above, Im happy you didnt make Babs Batgirl. It would have been something nice to see, but I feel like this was the better choice. She's more connected to Chloe than Bruce so i see why you went the angle of her Becoming Oracle instead of Batgirl. But I really hope you reconsider this one time appearance thing. Hell I'll even use your favorite person to convince you:

Jack.... This could be us right now on Watchtower: BUT YOU BE PLAYIN.jkjk HAHAHA. God, she looks like such a badass there. Thanks. I really love the character of Barbara Gordon. One of my best friends is obsessed with her and I completely understand why. She's a total badass. For Watchtower, 'Oracle' just made the most sense. Honestly, this season has a huge storyline for Bat woman. And I feel like if there was ever going to be an arc of 'Batgirl' it would involve Barbara Gordon using some sort of device that allows her to walk temporarily, in a similar fashion to the Barbara Gordon in the Birds of Prey TV Series. The character who wears a similar suit, and takes up a similar mantle in 401 isn't the kind of character to spend the season fighting crime, and that's all I can say on that one. P.S/ How dare you use Kelly Clarkson against me

SO it seemed very appropriate to find this.lol And when you say similar suit, do you mean to the one in the GIF or in BOP? Also Im not above to using Kelly Clarkson. Hell I'll use Chloe Sullivan herself to get the outcome we need But all in all this season premiere is coming along nicely

I don't spend a great deal of the script describing the exact suit, but it is similar (blue + yellow). There was going to be a throwaway line to link the suit to Barbara, and imply she was determined to go out and fight against Hush when he launched the war - which obviously changed when she was shot by The Joker - but I haven't found a way to organically include that or find room for it in the script. But like I said, it's a very minor, one-off thing at this point. I just think it's such a great moment in the premiere that I had to tease it The first draft of the season premiere is officially done. Working on 'Feud' right now!

I have found that many people forget that Barbara Gordon was not the first Batgirl, or the last. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jack uses the character and if it will be an original character or one from the others from the comics who adopted the mantle for this very brief appearance, especially if it's being tied into Katherine Kane's storyline.

Of course, but she's arguably the best and most recognised Batgirl in my books As for Watchtower, it's not an 'original' character or someone who has adopted the mantle before in the comic book mythology. It's a character who has never been associated with Batgirl before, and the stint will be very brief but hopefully very powerful and memorable. And the way it'll tie into the Katherine Kane storyline is by being a huge contrast to it in a way that if I wrote it out in words it would give it away. But "Batgirl" won't inspire "Batwoman" or vice versa. God, I'm even more excited about everyone reading this premiere now. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Just In: Megalyn Echikunwoke BooksRole As DC Comics' Naomi Singh!Production on the upcoming Season 4 Premiere for 'Watchtower' has officially concluded, but we couldn't announce this news without adding an even more exciting scoop. Introduced in the New-52 comic books, the character of Naomi Singh is described as a computer hacker specialist who works for Oliver Queen's company. VSGuide has learned exclusively that the character will be first appearing in the Season 4 Premiere for the expected epilogue at episode's end, and will be played by Megalyn Echikunwoke ('Vixen').
In Watchtower, Naomi's background as a computer hacker will bleed through into this adaptation of the character, who is said to be on the run from Maxwell Lord and his Checkmate agents after an attempt to expose their deep, dark secrets turned her into a 'most wanted' case for the organisation. "Naomi sees her skills as a hacker almost as a gift - as an ability - that she wants to use for good and so exposing corrupted men and women of power is her own way of saving the world," series creator Jack Malone told of the character. "When we first see her in [episode one] she has gotten in too deep with trying to expose Checkmate, and requires help from a familiar face." The familiar face in question: Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley). "It really opens the doors to [Oliver's] storyline and leads us into the next episode in a really big way."
On the question of whether or not Naomi will be a reoccurring character this season, Malone told VSGuide that they're very hopeful. "I think she's a character that could definitely surface again, especially if she dug up any good demons from Maxwell Lord's past. So there's a real possibility she could show up a few times this season. But right now, it's just one episode."
So that's the last of the news on the upcoming Season 4 Premiere. Get excited for some more scoops to come as production has officially started on the second episode of the season, 'Feud.' We also have word that the OFFICIAL SEASON 4 OPENING CREDITS are nearing completion, and will be "all revealing" on the entire cast for Watchtower's fourth season. Stay tuned.

SO, we have Oracle, Red Robin and now Ms. Singh... 3-way hacker 'fight scene', maybe?!

SO, we have Oracle, Red Robin and now Ms. Singh... 3-way hacker 'fight scene', maybe?! I couldn't think of anything more boring or worse than writing a three-way hacker fight scene, haha! It'd be a lot of "sat behind computer, typing." Naomi Singh is a character I wanted to introduce after reading quite a number of new 52 issues for Green Arrow. For me, it's important for Oliver to come back to Gotham with this whole other life, and seeing Naomi sort of be recruited as part of his 'team' alongside Black Canary and Speedy... it just felt like a cool route to go in. She very much helps with Oliver and his desire to find out who siphoned the money from his bank account. As we saw at the end of 'Hush,' Oliver had traced them back to this city but now he wants a name, and he wants a location, and he wants to confront them. So Naomi is almost the key to a Chloe/Oliver reunion. The plan is to have her pop up a few times, beyond her appearance in the Season 4 premiere Epilogue. I'm not sure if she'll cross paths with Barbara (you'll see why in the premiere) or Red Robin for that matter.

Exclusive: Smallville Vet Tom Welling Books Multiple Episode Arc ft. Batwoman VS Superman Stint! Production has officially begun on the second episode of the season, titled 'Feud' and VSGuide has some exclusive news to break on the episode's premise: Superman returns! Smallville veteran Tom Welling has inked a deal to reprise the role of Clark Kent / Superman for multiple episodes this season. While a specific number hasn't been confirmed by theVPN, VSGuide has learned that Clark will be one of many major reoccurring characters of the season, and has his own storyline planned to play out as the season develops. In this exclusive interview with the series creator, Jack Malone, VSGuide makes sure all your questions are answered: where has Superman been this entire time? What brings him back to the story? How long will he be sticking around? How big of a role does he play? Continue reading and find out.
VSGUIDE | So it's been no secret that Superman has been taken out of the equation to allow for Watchtower and MSCU to tell their stories without having to explain why Superman can't swoop in and save the day 24/7. But now that you're bringing him back into the fold, what kind of barrier will there be to explain why Superman isn't just swooping in and ending the conflict within a matter of seconds? Does it worry you that fans might be asking that question?
JACK MALONE | There'll be an explanation. And I think we want fans to be asking that question. We want fans to go, 'wait, how come we're spending an entire season trying to find Hush and stop him when they could just ask Superman to blur in and get it over and done with?' I think that's - as you said - the whole reason behind shipping him off Earth for a while. Now that we're bringing him back into the fold, that question needs to be answered. And I think we've found a pretty good reason to keep Superman from cleaning everything up in a matter of seconds. There was a development in Smallville that wasn't quite seen all the way through that feels organic to tackle returning to the character in a larger capacity for Season 4 of 'Watchtower.'
VSGUIDE | I think the question on everyone's mind is: where the hell has Superman been?
JACK MALONE | You'll find out pretty early on in the season. It's obviously a part of his story so I don't want to just reveal it outside of what you get to see and hear for yourself. But that'll be answered. And - again - it follows on from certain developments in Smallville that could do with a continuation of sorts.
VSGUIDE | So it sounds like there's a lot to be discovered. What can you tell us about his return to the show? When can we expect him to first show up and what brings him back into the story?
JACK MALONE | Clark will be back for these first two episodes of the season. We're going to learn right off the bat that he's not necessarily in control, that he's not necessarily the same person who left Earth. There's something not quite right, and when he surfaces in a much larger capacity for [episode two] you'll see him come into conflict with Chloe, and Oliver, and Batwoman. You know, as much as this is about revisiting such an important character from the history of the show, it's also a way in which we can bring in other elements such as A.R.G.U.S, and start planting the seeds for what's to come as the season unfolds. Within that framework, we have an interesting Superman vs Batwoman story, and a Superman vs Green Arrow, and maybe some other surprises up our sleeves.
VSGUIDE | Now obviously we know there's a story to tell beyond his return and beyond his appearances in 'Restoration' and 'Feud,' but what can we expect from him as the season develops?
JACK MALONE | This season is very much building towards that future we saw at the end of Smallville. Chloe was reading a book about Superman to what appeared to be her son. Clark and Lois were still having difficulties getting married. There's obviously no sign of any other characters whose futures are up in the air, which is very exciting. But that's the goal. So Clark has his own journey that will play into Chloe's arc, and play into the main story we've crafted on 'Watchtower.' We need to know why it took seven years for Clark and Lois to attempt another wedding. We need to see Clark become that hero for the world again that he was in that flash-forward. That's the story we'll be telling for Clark [in Season 4].
VSGUIDE | What will his relationship be like with Chloe? We haven't really seen them interact in a meaningful way since Smallville.
JACK MALONE | I think they're in need of a very long conversation about the past four or so years.
VSGUIDE | Last of all, we know there's a 10 year high school reunion episode coming up this season. Will you try and bring the whole cast back for it? Will we take a trip down memory lane with both Chloe and Clark around for it?
JACK MALONE | Honestly, it would be great to have everyone back for it. At the moment, I've just figured out who the big bad of that reunion would be, keeping in mind that this is 'Watchtower' and not 'Smallville.' And the idea is to see as many characters from the show as possible, even if they aren't presently alive. I also think it would be crazy to not see Clark, Chloe and Pete in the hallway again, or having Clark and Lana out on the football field... there's certain moments I'd like to mirror but we'll cross that bridge when it comes to us. I'm very excited, though.
So what do you think about Superman's return to Earth Watchtower? Excited for a Batwoman vs Superman face off? Would you like to see Chloe and Clark get back on good terms? Let us know in the comments below!

He is going to have his own beginning, middle and end story arc that plays out from the start of the season till the last episode of the season. He won't be in a great deal of episodes, but we'll come back to him as it goes along. As for the Smallville nostalgia, expect a lot of it this season. I think you'll see as many characters from Watchtower and Smallville as you possibly can this season in comparison to any other. I've always said Season 4 will be like a final season in terms of the storyline, and how things play out, and part of that is bringing back a whole array of significant characters, whilst staying focused on the main ones for the season And hey, if Bruce survived the end of last season, we might see some BATMAN VS SUPERMAN stuff going on. Who knows?!
