When John shows up, he has reason to believe Chloe is still alive. However, it'd be a bit too easy if Chloe was just locked somewhere in the base, wouldn't it? I can say she won't be where we last saw her...

VS GUIDE'S INTERVIEW WITH THE GREAT PERRY WHITE, MICHAEL MCKEAN

Perry White, editor-in-chief of Gotham Daily, has an unbias view of the world, reporting the truth and nothing but. Seeing potential in Chloe, he makes it his personal agenda to make sure she hits the big leagues. But with Watchtower getting in the way of her everyday life, Chloe has been slowly slipping away from the bullpen. As the show reached its climax, in the season's mid-finale "Offline", Chloe had left the paper behind, and Perry with it.

What's next for the future-editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet?

"Perry wants to put his paws on this Watchtower story," McKean told VS Guide, "he wants to know what their goals are, why they're here, and how long they'll be around." The actor went on to say that its not necessarily about who they are, to Perry, but that information would be of great value to the character.

"Its an interesting dynamic, really. Perry wants Chloe to catch the big story, and work as a team uncovering it, but with her secretly being the main topic, she's constantly side-stepping all his ideas and investigations!"

And what shape will we see Perry in, when the show returns? Actor, Michael McKean promises he'll be in one piece, but, "he's in a new environment. A new situation. A very scary situation."

With the season having a remaining seven episodes left to air to conclude its succesful run, the topic of season two is already beginning to circulate. Latest news was that the producers had pitched an outline to the network of what they want, and how it will all unfold.

But will Perry be around long enough?

"Absoutely, I'd love to come back for a second season. I believe Perry's story really takes off in this second half, and would love to see it continue, and develop next year." The actor then told VS Guide that the producers haven't outlined the whole of next season, but a few key points relating Chloe's character, and her story.

"There is one significant cast member yet to negotiate their contract, who signed a one year deal," McKean claimed, "whether or not the writers will include them into the story next year or not, I don't know. But it'll be sad to see them go, if they don't return."

Have you read "Offline" yet? It shows you in the final scene.

At the end of "Offline" Emil injected the experiment into Chloe's brain, and gave her the ability of seeing the future. However, he didn't know she'd literally see it, as much as he wanted her to become a metahuman, and experience the world he's trying to create.

An extract from VSGuide's July Magazine:

It seems that Watchtower is about to delve in the iconic science fiction storyline of: the future - as Emil Hamilton had previously used his experiment on his greatest challenge, Chloe Sullivan.

"You'll see a lot of what's to come," actress Allison Mack said, "and its all relating to the outcome of Emil's world, and what he is creating; what he'll go on to create." The longtime portrayer of Chloe Sullivan went on to say that the show had ended on a lot of cliffhangers in June, and that when the show returns for its final episodes of the season, all will be explored.

"I like how Chloe is slowly becoming differentiated from Watchtower, to being a person. She's spent a lot of time building this safe haven for heroes, but she's learned that she's just as important, if not more important, than its database."

So what will we see of the growing relationship between Chloe and Oliver in this second half of the season? Allison Mack promises a lot of twists and turns, claiming "the two of them really grow closer together than ever before since this huge apocalyptic, end-of-the-world event happened. I think the fans of that relationship will really enjoy their step to the next level that's been planned."

From what I've seen of the recent episode "Offline", it seems Helena and Chloe's friendship has really swerved off course. The question is, will they move passed that?

"I love their friendship," Mack stated, "I really think their friendship is new, and unique to any other connection Chloe shares with the characters. I'm not allowed to give away the dirt on that one, as its something I'm excited for the fans to follow when it returns, but the two will have a lot to learn from what's happened."

Watchtower is slated to return late August, early September.

Just In: Gatien on a 'Speedy Exit'

As the shows producers approach the network with their pitch for the second season, we were told one, possibly two faces will be missing from the season. And in an exclusive interview with Elise Gatien, who plays Mia Dearden, she gives us the dirt on her departure.

"When I originally signed, the producers had told me it was a one year arc," actress Gatien explained, "And as the rest of the cast began to negotiate their contracts, I approached them."

The young actress continued, informing VPtoday that she was given the goods on how her story wraps up in the first season.

"I thought it tied up nicely for the mythos," she claimed, "and although they did offer to bring me back for a few episodes next season, I thought it best to keep to that ending they had planned when the show began."

As for what that ending is, she didn't say, but rumor has it she'll be stepping up from sidekick to superhero. Elise Gatien's arc will wrap up in the eleventh episode of the season. The producers are still hoping to have her back later on in the series, whether Gatien wants to return, is up to her.

Virtual Wonders has given us some news on the role that Doug Jones will be playing in the returning episode. Here's what they wrote:

A really dark and scary character, who, on the inside, isn't what he appears to be. Finding a way to prevent death, or to be exact, come back from death, he was able to save himself from the severe cancer he was diagnosed with. A downfall of his success is that the body doesn't heal itself from what had caused death, and is forever rotting from the cancer.

Crashing into Perry was not a coincidence, but an unfortunate circumstance in his hunt for the renown reporter who he wants to help write his breathrough! Although the producers haven't revealed his name as of yet, he is of DC Comic origin whose story was spiced up and changed around a bit to fit the story and universe of the show.

Its official! Robert Wisden and Lynda Carter will be reprising their roles as the loving parents of Chloe Sullivan in the penultimate episode of the season. As for their role in the episode, executive producer Chris Davis promises a few good twists and turns before the season propels into its final episode.

"I know its a story that Jack wanted to tell coming into the first season, that I think really helps connect the dots from the start to finish," executive producer Chris Davis said, "and it'll also be a very fun reunion."

In Season Eight of Smallville, Luthorcorp had used Moira's spinal fluid, which they injected into Chloe to temporarily control her, the same with Oliver. So she's still around. As for being "switched off", Luthorcorp also had something that could keep her around, mobile, so you'll just have to wait and see how she's back.

But I hoped that helped explain some things

yeah i remember all about Moira's spinal fluid, and how they use it to control Chloe and Oliver (when he shot Clark..)....but i also remember that her fluid was taken when she was still a Luthor's prisoner....

UPDATED 18/7/2010 - Title posted.
-Our characters will be facing metaphorical, and physical awakenings in this episode. Chloe has been in a catatonic state since the mid season finale, and will "awaken", as will Perry.
-All cast members are in this episode, which means Bruce has returned and Helena is still in Gotham City, although parted ways from the team.
-The show welcomes a new set: Wayne Enterprises!

First of all I'm so freaking happy about Moira and Gabe coming back. I love Moira to death and I want to see more of her relationship with Chloe. The question is how will she comes back? The last time we saw her on Smallville she was in a catatonic state somehow... As for Gabe I'm still disappointed that we ahven't heard from him since season 3 so I'm happy.

Yeah more Bruce during next episode. I can't wait to see how he and Chloe will act around each other after their "kiss" and if Oliver will learn the thruth about it.

Of course I can't end my speech without saying that I want more Chlollie. LOL
