I'm gonna have to delete this post -- cause I don't even want to see it on the board xP jks jks
But seriously, I agree with Aimee and AC, this movie is going to be AWFUL! I think if someone wanted to do a Buffy reboot, they'd have to have one of the following things:
- Joss Whedon - The original cast
This has neither, so it's going to fail. There's no doubt about it.

Okay here is my issue....Buffy the TV series was already kinda a reboot/ sequel to the ORIGINAL MOVIE. It was pure gold and needs to be left alone WHY DO ANOTHER REBOOT OF A REBOOT??? For goodness sake it hasn't even been off the air ten years!

What made Buffy the Vampire Slayer so great was that Joss' ideas weren't being filtered and changed like the director of the original movie was doing. He had full control over where his characters went, and the stories that would take place. Plus, things really took off once the universe expanded, introducing witches, werewolves, demons, etc. I don't think they'd be able to pull that off in a movie, because they sure as hell won't get enough good reviews to make a sequel!
Plus, I love Willow, Xander and Giles too much for them NOT to be a part of anything Buffy, so this will crash and burn. I don't have any expectations of this movie, because I'm not going to watch it - unless of course, Chris somehow gains the courage to sit through it and then tells me its awesome, in which then I'd be forced to watch it. But other than that, no. Just no.

Jack, the only way I'd watch that movie is if either Allison Mack or Sarah Carter got cast as the new Buffy. Since the chances of that happening are pretty darn slim, I don't think I'll be watching the reboot. LMFAO

Instead of making the Reboot, they should explore a different part of the Slayerverse. Like Giles "Ripper" years or what Faith got up to after Buffy's series finale or an entirely new part of the universe all together. Or if they have to remake Buffy, remake the original movie and have it so it fits the series.

I am totally against the Buffy Reboot! I think it's stupid and how they don't even want Joss apart of it is stupid! I mean really!

Less opinions, more like hatred. And for a good reason. The show only finished not 10 years ago. It was one of the bigger genre series around and it getting a reboot with entirely new cast and that is obviously gonna hurt. They spent 7 seasons developing a deep mythology, and another 5 on Angel going even further with it. For them to just drop it all is just idiotic.
Like I said, they should visit different parts of the already existing mythology. I just want a British "Ripper" for gods sake!

Unless they cast a SUPER MEGA FOXY AWESOME HOT Buffy then I may see but IDK

I heard either Jessica Lucas or Naya Rivera were up for the role of Buffy for the reboot.

Is this still happening? Would love to be proven wrong but just can't see it working without Whedon at the helm at all.

I'm not sure if this is still happening. I know the writer that was supposed to pen the script backed out of the project (or was tossed on her ass, because the script lacked merit) but I'm not sure if they've found a replacement, or if they're even looking for one.
I would like to be proven wrong as well, because BtVS is always something I would love to see work, but I'm not too sure about this project. Maybe it's best left buried in the ground, until it's (if ever) put in proper hands (Joss Whedon).
