Ooh! If there is one thing that makes for good t.v. (at least for me anyways) it's a brooding, self-loathing vampire... I dunno, it's something about their whole "I hate myself but I'm stuck in this existence without an easy way out so there's nothing left to do but sulk in my own misery" attitude that I like to watch, that's possibly why I found Angel from BVS so compelling during his earlier run on the show... Anyway, getting off topic, big fan of mythology, planning to dedicate some time of my life to studying up on it as it is a very fascinating subject, so it's to be expected that I'd be VERY interested in watching this show progress and see how you deal with fictional creatures. So, while I am in no way even the slightest bit ready to try to pen (or I guess type) anything with this kind of potential, count me on a slot as a reader

^^ We're getting there. We've just been having a tough time thinking of a perfect way to execute the pilot, and the past few weeks we've only had time to discuss the show on weekends, if that. We're hoping to have an episode guide up sometime in October, and hopefully, some great progress on the pilot for everyone to read.

Jack and I spent a great deal of time planning "Hellbound," last night, so I'd say an update in regards to episodes, characters, as well as the general premise of the show, will be seen in the near future.

Hellbound is currently being reformatted into a webisode series! The pitch is subject to more changes, so check back in frequently. Also, the first two episodes are being worked on as you're reading this.

Just read this because of the update, but I am very excited about reading this webisode series! I have a passion for anything vampire related, but I will probably enjoying this more because it is veering away from the teenage vampire lore that we have seen as of late. Great job on writing the first few episodes and best of luck and you continue the series.

Great job on writing the first few episodes and best of luck and you continue the series. We're so glad you're interested. Jack and I really wanted to make an original vampire series, and we thought it very important to stay clear of the vampire lore the media has been coughing at us lately. Since the series has been converted into a webisode project, I can see it being a bit more accessible to readers, and it'll definitely help Jack and I out when it comes to balancing our other shows, as well as outside projects. So, all in all, we can't wait to finally get this show out there. Hopefully we'll get a pick-up

REVIEW: "Whispers in the Dark" (HELLBOUND) ~ Aimee Nicole
First and foremost, I just want to say that the concept of this show is fantastic. It's definitely a show that I would enjoy and stick to reading. That said, let's start this review.
I love the suspense that you set up in the beginning, with Jeremy fleeing. It was amazing, and didn't feel too over dramatic or poorly used. The detail was great, and flowed nicely. I could picture it as though I were actually watching it on TV which I feel is really important. Also, the part where he fights back: epic.
Reviewing as I read, sort of, I feel really bad for Alyson. Great job with that, guys. And the Chief, because of his sympathy I have a hard time wanting to calling him an asshole. I'm definitely liking this chick. She's a total badass. Kicking the chief? Hell yes.
As for James, his mysteriousness in this episode intrigues me. I think I'm gonna like him too, but I'll wait until I read the second episode to pass judgement.
I know my review sucks, I'm still pretty bad at this (see why I haven't reviewed Watchtower and Trinity yet? You'd hate me XD) but I just wanna say that just from this episode alone -- without having looked at the other one -- you guys have got my vote for sure. I give this episode a solid 10/10. Awesome job, guys.

Review for Hellbound 1x1 "Whispers in the Dark" and 1x2 "The Light Bringer"
Note: I apologize in advance I know it is going to be short because I'm not exactly good at these.
---- First of all I'd like to point out that while both of you have very distinct styles of writing you work well together. I like the way you structured these first two episodes to give each one of the main characters a full introduction. The descriptions of the setting are wonderful (as usual for you two) and it really allowed me to visualize what was going on.
You showcased two main characters in these episodes Alyson, the edgy detective who follows her emotions instead of the rules, and James, the vampire on a mission. And out of the two I have to say I am drawn to James and what the heck is going on with him, but this is probably because I got to see more of him in these two episodes. I wanna know more about who he is looking for is it his girlfriend, wife, sister, mother? GAH I have so many questions about him and I wanna know more. I liked the relationship between him and Jeremy and I was actually really sad reading about him in the second episode knowing he was gonna die and James was going to be sad.
Alyson had me wondering too, how did she know James before and what is up with her mother? I hope the answers to these come up soon! Also I like that she got fired. I am sick of the cop who doesn't follow the rules always getting second chances. This seems more real.
I like the concept of Alyson being drawn into James' world and the trouble I know these two are both going to get into. I see them as being a very fun pair and playing off each other well.
And I suck at these so I am ending here.
Great job you two!! I certainly want to read more.
"Whispers in the Dark" and "The Light Bringer" --- 9.5 / 10

Response to Aimee's review: "Whispers in the Dark"
I'm really glad that you enjoyed the concept of the show! We sort of brought a lot of elements to the table from stuff we enjoyed, and we've always wanted to do a vampire series. The idea behind there being a companion of sorts comes from our love of Doctor Who, and there are too many vampire shows to name that we both really love. Of course we're going with something new, and fresh, especially since vampire shows have been done and dusted (heh heh) over and over again.
Jeremy started off as just that gimick at the start to show a bit of a damsel in distress, and then flip that on its head a little bit. I always hear about how the first page of any script should lure readers in immediately, and if it falls flat people are gonna zone out. So I wanted to surprise people a bit with that "and suddenly he kicks some ass." When I wrote it, I thought he could have been a previous companion or asset to James, and Chris really turned that into something more in the second episode, which I'm glad he did - we tried to make this character a bit more relevant to the show than just 'the guy who gets killed by a vampire.'
Alyson? Badass? Hehe. I'm so glad you think so! Yeah, there were a few different versions of Alyson before we went with 'rogue detective.' We think it best suits the direction we want to take her character, and really connects her to a big plot of the season moreso than what her previous 'occupation' was going to be. I'm glad you like that. Its a huge sigh of relief.
The Chief will be a bit of an antagonist towards Alyson in this first arc, but not the all-out evil kind. He's got a job to do, and we wanted to make that clear. But you know, Alyson was a part of his team once upon a time, and in that kind of environment, the people you work with are like family. So their relationship is a bit like that - they can hurt each other, but it pains them a little to do so, moreso on the Chief's end, because Alyson has more pressing issues to worry about than who gets kicked in the face.
Chris does a great job of introducing James in the next episode. I got to hint at him a little at the end there, but we very much wanted to split these episodes up into one being Alyson's POV, and the other being James' POV, before they come together and the show takes on both their perspectives now that the worlds have collided. I hope you like James, Chris does a great job setting his character up in the next episode! XD
Thank you soo much for the quick, and brilliant review, Aimee. I'm really excited about this webisode series, and I'm so glad to finally have a project with Chris that we're actually successfully getting done - thanks to the 10pg format that is so convenient for both of us. I'm so glad you liked this episode so much. I'm actually surprised, but very, very flattered. It means a lot! I hope you enjoy Chris' episode just as much! Thank you! XD

Response to Kerry's Review: "Whispers in the Dark" "The Light Bringer"
I'm really glad that you liked how we structured these two episodes - it was important to both of us that we introduce both characters right off the bat, before uniting them together for the arc. We thought it would be best to introduce James, in the first episode, as more of a mysterious figure, as we told that episode through Alyson's eyes. And then that world would feel less of a mystery through James' eyes, when we came to the second episode, as we told it through his perspective.
About James - he's very much the pivotal character of the series, and we peel back a lot of different layers to his character in this first sequence. I think Chris did a great job of hinting at some of the mysteries that we'll be dealing with as the sequence progresses, and you're definitely asking all the right questions. There are answers to every question you brought up in your review, so we're both very excited about that, and very excited about what we've got planned.
The third episode has a lot between Alyson and James, and this whole arc very much sets up their relationship together, and how they interact together, and it also really introduces Alyson into the world James lives in. I'm glad you're looking forward to seeing these two play off each other - its fun writing these two together. Also, there's another character ("Adam") coming into the mix towards the end of the arc who furthers the mystery behind James' past, whilst also hinting at some clues to those questions. I think, for me, their interactions together are my favourite, and at the moment, only Chris has gotten to write for those two, and he does a wonderful job at it. I'm pretty sure Adam is Chris' favourite character!
Anyway, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, but I'm really excited and happy after reading these reviews -- you and Aimee are so kind to read/review so quickly, and I really enjoyed them! And wow, such high ratings! *starts stripping* No, no. Thank you! It means a lot.
