Exclusive: Jaime Pressly Books ReoccuringRole as DC Comics' Crystal Frost aka 'Killer Frost!' As if our heroes didn't have enough big bads to put down, Jaime Pressly ('My Name is Earl') has been cast as the DC Comics' villain 'Killer Frost.' In Watchtower, the character is said to be an amalgamation of the many different identities throughout comic book history that have embodied the iconic moniker of 'Killer Frost,' but that their day-by-day name refers to the original incarnation, 'Crystal Frost.' VSGuide has learned that Frost will be the right-hand woman of Maxwell Lord (Gil Bellows), who seems to have grown quite an affection for the Head of Checkmate whilst working under him for the past twenty years. And while her unrequited love, and eventual descent into the identity of Killer Frost is expected to be a huge part of the role for Pressly to sink her teeth into, producers revealed that she helps play a role in Maxwell Lord's grand scheme making her a crucial character for the season.
"Behind every great man is an even greater woman, right?" series creator, Jack Malone remarked on the casting news before telling VSGuide the reason for Killer Frost making an appearance in Season 4. "The decision comes down to an examination of our main character, and what's going on in her life. Crystal Frost is a perfect character to enhance our story for Chloe, to add some fire to the Chloe and Oliver story, but also create a larger world around our big bad. I think any character who can add layers to our main hero and our main villain is one worth including, and I can't wait for everyone to see our take on Killer Frost." While Malone couldn't reveal a specific number of episodes Pressly is contracted to for the season, he did reveal a game-plan for her. "She will sort of blend into the background of Lord's world and be a constant presence in his life until her own story will bleed quite heavily to the forefront of Season 4. There's an origin story to tell, and then there's a Killer Frost story to tell, both resonating quite strongly with Chloe and Maxwell Lord's journey."
When asked if her story will be on a similar trajectory to Clayface's last season - as the primary side-villain - Malone revealed that wasn't the plan. "Our side villain - or side story - involves a familiar face that resurfaces in the [season premiere] and their motives and their trajectory will cross paths with Killer Frost at some point but it'll also thread in and out of other stories told this season that builds on a similar path of Ethan becoming Clayface." Malone continued by telling VSGuide that the character is expected to make their first appearance in the second episode of the season, titled 'Feud' and will make subsequent appearances leading up to the mid-season finale.
Excited to see Killer Frost come to Gotham? What icy influence will the character have on Chloe and Oliver? And who do you think the familiar face showing up in the season premiere will be? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments below!

"Elseworld"?!?! Oh dude, this gives me goosebumps!! Loving the fact you're introducing your own "Killer Frost" - she's been a favourite of mine since the "Justice League" animated series - you beat me to the punch, though! I'm excited for the first half of the season. Episodes 1-9 will hopefully be the first run of episodes that air together. So I won't be airing anything until I'm confident it can run uninterrupted. "Elseworld" will be a pretty big one that could just bring back two or so familiar faces from Watchtower past. And I'm super excited about Killer Frost. Originally I had a character written in 'Feud' that I knew would have to reoccur throughout some other episodes and so I wanted to find someone who could have more of an arc and a journey and play into the other storylines and elements of the season I had planned, hence Killer Frost.

Just In: Lizzy Caplan Returns to 'Watchtower!' After meeting a tragic demise at the end of last season, Lisa Andrews is set to make an early Season 4 follow-up appearance in the upcoming episode titled 'Damaged.' VSGuide has learned exclusively that actress Lizzy Caplan has booked a return to 'Watchtower' with intent to offer the character, and her relationship with Helena (Kayla Ewell) more closure. While the fallen few of the show's three-season run have been known to resurface beyond the grave, Caplan's return is still a surprise, considering the fate of Helena - who fell to her death at the end of last season - is yet to be revealed. Could this be a sign of Helena's ultimate survival against all odds, or is it an even bigger sign that the character's journey on Watchtower has come to an end?
"That's definitely a question that gets asked and answered in [episode three]," Malone revealed, following the reveal of Caplan's return to the show, which the Watchtower creator admitted was the best move to make when approaching Helena's Season 3 cliffhanger. "Lisa was a huge part of our third season, and an even bigger part of Helena's life. When tackling the question of whether or not Helena's journey is just beginning or coming to an end, it makes sense to involve Lisa in the same way we had Julian [McMahon] in our finale [as Guido]." Malone later went on to say that he didn't want to leave Lisa's story at the gruesome conclusion that was found in 'Salvation.' "While there was no other ending in mind [for Lisa] - and this certainly isn't about changing the past - I feel like we have the opportunity to revisit what happened and find an even stronger resolution for the character and her relationship with Helena."
Lizzy Caplan is expected to make her Season 4 appearance during episode 3, titled 'Damaged.'

Exclusive: Allison Mack Previews Chloe's Upcoming Job Offer, Relationship with Oliver, Doctor Fate Theories and More! Will Chloe Sullivan become the next Doctor Fate? Will Chloe and Oliver get back together? What's next for Chloe's undetermined future? VSGuide sits down with series lead Allison Mack to discuss the Season 4 storyline for Chloe Sullivan and deliver on all the burning questions that have circulated since the end of last season. And while the actress wouldn't let us know if Chloe escapes life in prison, we managed to get even bigger questions answered. Read on to find out more!
VSGUIDE | Last season ended in quite the cliffhanger for Chloe, who was last seen being arrested by Gordon. Where does that leave us in the upcoming season of Watchtower? How much time has passed?
ALLISON MACK | It's been about three months since [the Season 3 finale] and Chloe has been on trial ever since. It's really interesting because the city knows the Watchtower exists but there's never been a face to it until now, and that creates a bit of a loophole for Chloe to plead some level of innocence and to argue that maybe she's not the eyes in the sky. But when we come back, Chloe's waiting on a verdict that has the public split 50/50. And that creates some conflict for her and the audience because there's a real possibility we'll only be seeing Chloe behind bars this season.
VSGUIDE | There's been talk of a Chloe and Oliver reunion ever since Justin [Hartley] signed back on as a series regular for this upcoming season. How long will it be before their paths cross and what can we expect from their relationship this season? And what's it like having Justin back on the show?
ALLISON MACK | I'm so happy Justin [Hartley] is back. This show started with the two of us, so it really does feel like we're going back to the beginning and nothing has changed. But that couldn't be more different for our characters. I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say they cross paths in [episode two] very briefly. Oliver is here to find out why she took the money, who she is and what their connection is and so Chloe is very adamant about giving him an answer and keeping him at bay. She understands that Oliver has this whole new life now so there's some secrets to be kept and some lies to be made in the name of protecting someone she cares about. But you'll see Oliver remain quite stubborn about figuring out the truth, and that leads to a really interesting dynamic for Chloe and Oliver this season.
VSGUIDE | Do you hope he somehow gets to remember it all and they can get back together?
ALLISON MACK | I think seeing Oliver without his memories of Chloe is a natural progression of what was set up back in Season 2. I don't think I'd want to see him just get everything back and regress to that place. It's more fun watching this new dynamic play out, and I think having that question of "will they/won't they" back adds more excitement in the air for the couple. Things can grow quite stale on TV and this feels very new and fresh for the show so I hope we see where "Chlollie 2.0" is headed as opposed to restoring what we've already seen.
VSGUIDE | Last season kind of explored the idea of Chloe not really having a destiny anymore since being brought back from death. However, we still don't know what her true purpose was prior to her death, nor do we know what future to expect for her now. Will that continue to be explored this season? May we get some answers to those questions?
ALLISON MACK | The answer to the question of Chloe's destiny can be found in [season 2]. I definitely think the show will spell it out to the audience and offer more clarity as it's been left purposefully vague, but the answer is definitely already there. I think the ramifications and the impact of her fulfilling that destiny are yet to be seen but I know they will be seen eventually. The big question now is what does Chloe's future hold when the future never intended to have her in it? That's what's exciting to me. You'll sort of see Chloe pave a clearer path for herself and try and figure that out. Last season made her realise she doesn't want to stop being Watchtower or being a mother, and there's a few pieces of her identity left to pick up and stitch back together this season. Once that's fully formed, it's the question of her future that will carry us till the very end.
VSGUIDE | There has been some speculation that Chloe could adopt the Doctor Fate identity by series' end, ever since Doctor Fate unmasked themselves in front of Perry. Is there any weight to that theory?
ALLISON MACK | That was certainly my question after reading the script for that particular episode. I don't know. I think it could be a little too obvious. Whoever is under that specific mask is someone Perry knows and/or trusts enough to make such a life-changing decision. I mean the writers obviously want the audience to start asking those questions and start drawing any dots they can but I'm not too sure if I subscribe to the theory. It'd be interesting, though.
VSGUIDE | Well, that's probably something quite a long ways away. So what can we expect for Chloe in the not-too-distant future?
ALLISON MACK | Chloe is going to be getting an offer quite early on in the season that will take her back to her roots a little bit. She's also going to have a bit of a rival and it's someone who just kind of gets on her nerves and is potentially connected to Maxwell Lord in some way so that heightens the hostility a little. Speaking of Maxwell Lord, there's a little bit of a twist involving him and Chloe that I can't wait for the fans to see. And... yeah. A lot of new and old relationships surfacing with Justin [Hartley] and Kristin [Kreuk] coming back. It's going to be a good season.
VSGUIDE | The last question we've been asking the main cast is: which cast member from last season do you find yourself working more closely with this season? Which character is Chloe sharing more scenes with?
ALLISON MACK | That's a good question. I'd have to say Yvonne [Strahovski]. Which is strange when you think about the similarities between Chloe and Vicki and how long we've been on the show together. But it's nice. It's nice to have new dynamics opening up four seasons in, and I think having been through as much as they have, they're able to come together and share an even stronger bond. I'm looking forward to how often their paths will cross this season.
What offer do you think Chloe will receive? Do you think Chloe will/should become Doctor Fate? Thoughts on the Chloe/Vicki friendship? Let us know all your thoughts from the interview below!

Just In: Robert Buckley Books Role As DC Comics' Jason Bard! VSGuide has learned exclusively that One Tree Hill and iZombie star, Robert Buckley, has been booked to play DC Comics' private investigator, Jason Bard. In the comics, Bard was a police officer turned private investigator who has had his fair share of run-ins with the superheroes of DC Comics lore, including - but not limited to - Batman and Black Canary. In this incarnation, Bard is without his background in the GCPD, and instead has his own P.I business under 'Bard Investigations.' His current case: to expose Checkmate to the world.
"Jason was working a case with a young female client whose brother was involved with Checkmate, and in their efforts to explore what this organisation was really about, his client's trail was found and she was murdered," series creator Jack Malone told of the character's backstory, "Ever since, Jason has been determined to expose them for what they really are and that path he is on takes him straight to Chloe."
Malone later teased a potential romance between Chloe and Jason, who are said to compliment each other in more than a few ways. "They both have this stubborn determination that leads them down huge rabbit holes, and fight for similar causes and think the same way and so it would make sense to explore what a partnership of that nature would be like with a more romantic flair to it," Malone said on the possibilities of seeing Chloe and Jason together. "When their paths first cross, we set up quite the interesting dynamic between the two in order to establish a trust, and there's quite an equal playing field between them that's a lot of fun to write. Seeing how that evolves will be a lot of fun."
What does this mean for Chloe and Oliver?
The 'Watchtower' creator appeared just as excited for their "new and very complicated" dynamic this season but reminded fans of the current relationship between Oliver and Dinah. "There'll come a point early on in the season where Chloe has to really let her attachment to Oliver go, and - as heartbreaking as it sounds - it allows us to see how Chloe adapts to a world where she no longer believes Oliver is the man she's meant to end up with." Malone revealed that a possible Chloe/Kyle relationship was on the table for Season 3, but told VSGuide, "It just didn't feel like the right time or the right situation." But fret not, Chlollie fans, "while Chloe is in a unique position to move on with her life, Oliver is only just scratching the surface of what she's finally moving on from and certain truth bombs are going to provide a lot of story for [Chlollie] going forward."
In the meantime, Malone is excited about what Jason Bard will bring to the story. "He will be a valuable asset in piecing a lot of the mysteries behind what Maxwell Lord is planning together," Malone teased of the character's upcoming contribution to the season. And on the question of whether or not he will eventually cross paths with Batman or Black Canary? "It would be great seeing him involved with as many heroes as possible. "You'll have to wait and see what happens, huh?"
Robert Buckley is set to make his first appearance as Jason Bard in episode 5, 'Debt.' He will recur throughout most of Season 4.
Let us know in the comments below: what are your thoughts on the private investigator coming to Watchtower? Do you think his one-man crusade against Checkmate will bleed into him joining Team Watchtower? Are you interested in seeing a Chloe/Jason romance or are you still aboard the Chlollie train to hopeful paradise? Sound off below!

Some more spoilers. Still not much revealed for the future of Chloe, Bruce and Helena. Trying to be quite hush on their involvement considering they were all part of big cliffhangers from the end of Season 3. So here's what I can offer: Episode #4-04: "Batwoman" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN UPDATE 22/5/2016 - Flashbacks will reveal Katherine Kane was in Gotham during the Hush attacks in the Season 3 finale, titled 'Hush.' - Despite previous information released, the character of Summer Gleeson, portrayed by Holland Roden, will make their first appearance in this episode. Gleeson wouldn't describe herself as having anti-vigilante beliefs, but as a reporter, she holds herself to the unbiased nature of her profession and the story she has been assigned is not in favour of our heroes. - Dina Meyer guest stars as Kate Spencer, making her return after her last appearance in the Season 4 premiere. Series creator Jack Malone told VSGuide that there will be some interesting developments for the character and her role as 'Manhunter' that start to take shape in this episode, but will continue throughout the rest of the season. - The reunion between Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) will come to a hasty end when Oliver suggests the solution to her current problem lies in reuniting with Lex Luthor. - This episode marks the second appearance of Jaime Pressly's 'Crystal Frost,' where her unrequited love for Maxwell Lord (Gil Bellows) will come bubbling to the surface and be preyed on by a not-to-be-messed-with Katherine Kane.
UPDATE 18/3/2016 - Episode title posted. - Producers revealed that the episode is set to heavily feature Katherine Kane / Batwoman (Deborah Ann Woll).

This trailer was insanity and everything. Damn.
I loved how we got to see Batwoman in action. She's such a badass comic character and I'm so happy to see how you're going to translate her into the world of Watchtower. She's already a favorite of mine. Speaking of bats, this season seems to be touching upon what the symbol of Batman means to Gotham, and I love it. It brings in a real philosophical component to the show, which is something I've loved in the recent DCEU films.
We also saw how anti vigilante Gordon has actually become. He's pointing his gun at every Batfam member! I love how contrasted Barbara is with his viewes. It's going to create such a wonderful new dynamic in their father/daughter relationship. Hopefully Dick goes out standing tall and not dead at the hands of a trigger happy Gordon.
Maxwell Lord is already terrifying.
LANA! I'm interested to see how heavily involved she is in Oliver trying to figure out where/if he knows Chloe. Why is she already having nose bleeds? Omg.
HELENA BERTINELLI. IN ARKHAM ASYLUM. WHAT.
Let's go.
