Hundreds of those things, broke into our streets, our homes, our towns. Smashing through the concrete ground and rising up to the surface. I could just hear the screams, coming from everywhere. It was unbearable. After the rampage was near completion, the light shone down upon us. Like a beacon of hope...then came the angels."
The Synopsis
On the day of December 21st, 2012, the world began to have sudden tremors. Strange. Every major city of the world, having tremors at the same time? An event that proved to be unimportant after what soon followed. As the sun went down, the earth began to crack, releasing the demonic souls from the underworld into our streets. Vicious, demented creatures that called themselves "demons". Many were killed that day, hell, more than many. They took out more than 75% of the Earth's population. But, right when the world lost all hope, the light came from the sky, banishing the demons from the Earth. Or, so we had thought.
Two weeks later, the demons return to once again raise hell throughout the world. But this time is different. This time, we have someone to protect us. The archangels.
This story follows the journey of two angels. Michael (Andy Whitfield), Gabriel (Rhona Mitra), along with the humans, demons and other angels they meet along the way. As the travel around the world, preserving life and slaying as many demons as they can, they find out that this war will go on longer than what was planned.
When they discover that Lucifer was behind the attack, as they suspected, they set out to find him at all cost. They must ban together with the remaining humans to fight a war against the demons that threaten all existence. It'll take some time for the humans to prepare, but the war against man, angel and demon has begun again. Are you ready?

Main Characters
Michael (Andy Whitfield)
The Archangel, Michael. He is strong willed, determined and all about the service of god. Of all the angels, Michael is known as the most powerful and most respected. Some may call him heartless, but others realize that he is focused on the mission that was handed down to him. But when he arrives to Earth, he finds that it's slowly, but surely, changing him. For better or for worse? We cannot tell, but however he's changing, it will have a major effect on earth's fate.
Gabriel (Rhona Mitra)
The archangel Gabriel, has been known by many faces & bodies, male and female. She's the exact opposite of Michael. True to her destiny, but willing to see other ways of solving a problem, which due to Michael's closed mindedness, may get her into trouble with her leaders. She keeps Michael grounded and sane throughout the journey and as Michael begins to change somehow, she finds herself slowly becoming the one in charge of their mission.

On December 21st, 2012, the earth began to crack, releasing the demonic souls from the underworld into our streets. Vicious, demented creatures that called themselves "demons". They took out more than 75% of the Earth's population. But, right when the world lost all hope, the light came from the sky, banishing the demons from the Earth. Or, so they had thought. Two weeks later, the demons return to once again raise hell throughout the world. This time, we have someone to protect us. The archangels. When Michael & Gabriel arrive to Earth, they go straight into the mission to save Earth when a small suburb in Chicago has been attacked by demons. Also, within the area is one of the many leaders of this attack. As our duo questions him, he reveals the true force behind this all, starting an entirely new war.

1x02 | The Fallen
While fighting a group of demons in the city of Columbus, Ohio, Michael and Gabriel both experience vivid flashes of a prophetic man who claims that he is an angel that has fallen from Heaven and is trapped on the Planet Earth as punishment for his sins. They set out to find him only to discover that a group of reapers, vicious demons sent from the pits of hell to capture any and all lost souls that walk the Earth and banish them to the underworld, is searching for the fallen angel. Normally, archangels could care less about the fallen, but this time is different. Why would the creator send them visions of him? What's so special about this man? That is the question the two ask themselves as they attempt to find him, before the reapers do. If you thought that hordes of demons was bad enough, well then you'd be wrong.
1x03 |Rampagers
While fighting a demon horde in a small town in West Virginia, Michael and Gabriel comes in to contact with a very unique and dangerous race of demonic being. Rampages. Violent bastards, usually over 6 feet tall, four-hundred plus pounds, and a tendency to destroy anything and everything within its path. They don't care about good and evil, all they do is destroy. If a demon gets in its way, then it's dead. When they discover that a pack of Rampagers are out seeking death and mayhem, they must stock up on weapons and whoever or whatever is willing to help take them down.
1x04 | Rebirthing
As Michael & Gabriel cross the Atlantic, they end up in the great city of Beijing, China, where they hear of a ancient Chinese cult of demonic worshipers who plan to resurrect their spiritual god, the Pixiu, that has been described by most to be a very large, winged lion. On a search for the cult, to keep what they plan from ever coming to pass, they discover an increase in the murder of children and pregnant mothers. Sickened by the news, they must split up to conquer both problems but they soon realize that the two may be connected.
1x05 | Infection
A demonic infection spreads across an town in Saudi Arabia, that transforms countless people there into vicious, undead monsters; Michael and Gabriel travel to the the city in hopes of finding the source of the outbreak and curing it before it spreads farther, but when they begin to notice signs that the both of them are infected as well, they question if the Creator remains on their side.
1x06 | Far From Grace
Mid-Season Finale.
When Michael and Gabriel search for answers to why and how they are becoming more and more human, they are confronted by a female witch doctor who shows them more than they asked for, when she traps the two inside a dream realm that brings out the memories and fears of the people the two angels now embody.

So, here's my first pitch to this network. I was thinking all day about an idea for a series and came up with this. Archangel, if picked up will have a very DARK tone and a high maturity level. The pitch is not yet complete. I should be finishing the episode summaries soon! But for now, tell me what you think of it so far.
