Basically, it's ridiculous and against everything that America supposedly believed in. They SAY it's to protect creative property or whatever the hell you wanna call it, but it can lead into SO MUCH MORE which is why I've signed the petitioned AGAINST IT and I'm going to call Congress tomorrow.
EDIT: On Monday -_- They probably won't pick up tomorrow.

Australia has the threat of one of them for a while. At first I was worried, but its been so long that I don't care anymore. It'll limit the sites I go to, which will suck, but it'll give me the excuse to go do something with my life. I'm against it, but I can see positives for me in it as well.

If it passes, many sites that SEVERAL people go to daily will be blocked. Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr for example. And of course, the VPN will probably be censored as well because of copyrighted videos that we've linked to. That includes the fan-made promos we've made for our shows and things like that. It gives the government too much control and we might as well just shut down the internet. Even Youtube will probably get the slam. So there really is no upside to this. Especially not when I'd just go back to PS3 gaming, which is not much better than being online all day.

Facebook and Twitter and sites like that wouldn't be blocked. If they did, they'd be pushing the majority of the voters over to the opposition. It'd be suicide to block those ones.

Because of all the copyrighted content that is posted on Twitter and Facebook, as well as Tumblr, they would be blocked. It's already been said. And if they're NOT blocked, you'll be arrested and given up to 5 (or ten, I can't remember) years in prison for copyright infringement. So it's a lose-lose either way.

Hmmm, this is interesting. This is one reason why I don't get into politics.

If the government did start prosecuting tons of people for copyright infringement, the courts would be so clogged, its possible that you might not see a prison for years or even decades after your initial arrest, if ever. There isn't enough resources to do something like that.

The point is that the fact that America is even CONSIDERING something as STUPID as this act is disappointing and ridiculous. We may never see prison, but the fact that they are wiling to do that over something we once called creative liberty, well, I think you see where I'm going with this. XD
