Update: I've decided on one hour episodes and will be classifying this as a dramedy. Also, I'm slowly putting up the episode guide in my spare time so check it out when you get the chance, I'd love to hear what you think.

I think I'd like this more if it didn't have the 'supernatural occurrences'. I just like the idea of her having these premonitions about normal crimes and then her deciding to try and stop them. Just thought I'd throw that idea out there

I like the episodes, most of the sound pretty good. I like the vampire one, that sounds like what my highschool was like for a while when the Twilight phase was just getting started XD

Yeah, I kinda agree with this point too. Pick a few characters as your mains and if you still really want to keep the rest have them as recurring characters instead. They can always become more permanent if you get past a first season. Large casts, especially with a first season can be a little hard to relate to. You have so many different personalities all vying for screen time and people don't get to see enough of a character to get attached to them. If people aren't attached to the characters they aren't attached to the story and the idea won't get far. I'd suggest keeping Amanda, Terri and Clay as main characters and all the rest you have as recurring/supporting. That's just my opinion though, feel free to do as you want, it is your idea after all

Oh, I ment that I'm from Aus and therefore everyone else usually has different school times to us Oh! 100% agree with this. Comedy generally goes one of two ways: you either pull it off and it's hilarious or it falls flat and really isn't funny. Humour in a written medium is also much harder than, say, humour in a visual medium. On tv when a character delivers a funny line it's enhanced by their actions, tone of voice and the way the characters around them act. Humour in plain writing form needs to be very witty and sharp to get people thinking 'that's funny' let alone getting them to laugh out loud. Though, if you can pull it off I'm sure this series could be good

For a minute I was like, "huh?" with your note about the school year starting up and then I remembered the school year in Australia is a bit different to everyone else XD But anyway, on to the actual pitch. It sounds pretty good, a straight comedy is something I don't think the VPN has at the moment (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so it would be cool to introduce something of that genre. I do have a issue with pitch presentation. There are a lot of missing words and spelling errors that make it looked rushed and were making me cringe as I was reading it through. I'd suggest giving it a quick once over to fix all that Onto the good stuff though. I like the characters and general feel of this idea. It kinda reminds me of 'Lizzie McGuire' a bit and looks like it could be a lot of fun to read. I'd love to see some more development with this, so far it's looking pretty interesting

Technically an hour episode only runs for about 45 minutes so making the episode 40 minutes really wouldn't be that much different to writing an hour episode.

I do like the idea of working with slightly more detailed story lines. I've never been a plain humour/comedy writer, I can't help but chuck a bit of drama or action in, and if I tried to do half hour episodes with drama elements I can't help but think I'll make a big mess of it because of the restricted episode time so you do make a good point there. Knowing me I won't be able to keep it light and simple so there's going to be drama of some sort in there but I will be, like you said, trying to keep the humour in it. I also agree that a well written comedy would work well with short snappy episodes but I'm a little bit hesitant with my ability to write a comedy. I can write funny things, sure, but a whole show with a main genre of comedy I'm not quite sure I can pull off just yet. I think at the moment I'm leaning towards the hour episodes. I have a feeling that there will be quite a bit of drama thrown in with the humour and for that to work well I feel the hour episodes would be needed. I'll probably stick with that unless anyone has anything else to add to this little discussion

After reading everyone else's comments I really don't have much more to add other than I really like this idea! I'll definitely be watching as you develop this pitch. Can't wait to read more

Another update: I've decided that I'll either run this as 12 one hour episodes or 20-24 half hour episodes. There will be about the same amount of content this way but depending on which one I choose will effect the kind of stories I can tell. Shorter episodes will probably be easier to write as it is a little less complex and sort of lends itself to humorous story lines. On the other hand I could could do the hour episodes which means I can create more complex stories and include a bit more drama. I'm not sure which one will work better, both have their advantages and disadvantages so any advice on this dilemma would be appreciated too

So I've made some updates and now I think almost everything is complete except the episode guide. I'd love to hear opinions on this guys, what you do and maybe don't like, as that really helps me set the foundations of the story

I wish I was at home watching my Criminal Minds dvd's. Instead I have a 3 hour biology lab to attend. Bio labs suck.

Some of them are okay, no one who I feel really 'fits' the character though. That's the problem I was having when I went through the list of actors I had on my computer. If you have any more suggestions I would love to hear them because I've pretty much got no one in mind as of yet XD

Thanks I'm having a lot of fun with this one and hope to get working on it late this year/early next year as I want to get Edge of Vision's first season written before I start on anything else. That would be great! I have a somewhat limited knowledge of actors/actresses and haven't been able to find any that suit the open cast spots so some suggestions would be fantastic

Pride I'm actually planning on changing but I think I'm pretty happy with Greed. Greed and Gluttony will probably be interacting a lot and I think the casting of them together works, hence the reason I'll probably be keeping Greed. Heh, I think my usual humour will end up slipping into the script no matter what I do but I will be trying to focus on a bit of light hearted, simply fun kind of humour too

The casting has been pretty interesting and I'm still changing some of the actors/actresses around but the three you mentioned, Lust, Envy and Wrath, are all going to stay the same. I am aiming for a bit of comedy with this idea. Normally I write supernatural drama/crime/action stuff so this is branching out a little for me. I am having a lot of fun developing characters and episode ideas though so hopefully when I get a full pitch up the series will get picked up by the VPN

So I've updated the cast and added some of the character descriptions. I'm having a lot of trouble casting my main character David Chase though, so if anyone has any suggestions on who I could use I would love to hear them!
