Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Think it'll be pretty awesome. Thanks! It's been pushed to the back a little recently because of all the going-ons with Outcasts, but hopefully in the next few weeks we'll be able to get this rolling again and finally put out the pilot.

EXCLUSIVE: The Age of Heroes...Over? You might have noticed that in the wake of numerous changes on the network, "Age of Heroes" was removed from the VPN's line-up and the showrunner has stepped down from the network. VSGuide recently sat down with the series' former executive producer, and current showrunner of the series' sister show "The Outcasts", Aimee Nicole. She discusses the details behind the sudden cancellation and touches on the future of the VPN's Marvel Universe as a whole. VSGUIDE: Why did the showrunner decide to cancel the show? It was really sudden and unexpected. AIMEE NICOLE: The cancellation was really sudden, and caught me off-guard. I'm not happy with it, I don't know the details, nor do I really care to at this point, but I understand where Maddie [Funderburg] is coming from and I respect her decision. I completely stand by her side in her decision to step down from the network. She was one of the most dedicated people on the VPN and I feel like the network has lost a great person with her departure. She worked hard on "Age of Heroes", which I feel would have been a fantastic addition to the growing line-up, and she put so much effort into helping with "The Outcasts" that I honestly have no idea how she does it all. VSGUIDE: Now that she's gone, will you be hiring on another executive producer for "The Outcasts"? AIMEE NICOLE: Absolutely not. While she's not part of the network, she is still very actively involved in the production of "The Outcasts". The show wouldn't be the same without her. VSGUIDE: How does the loss of "Age of Heroes" affect "The Outcasts"? AIMEE NICOLE: Unfortunately, quite a bit. But we're both dedicated to making sure the appropriate changes are made to make it work. The shows were very closely tied together, so of course some things are going to change. Luckily, we have time to make adjustments as the reboot comes into full production in the next few weeks and the major changes were in the seasons to follow and not the current one. VSGUIDE: The final installment to the VPN's Marvel Universe, "Nightstalkers" was recently shelved as well. Was this related to the cancellation of "Age of Heroes" as well? AIMEE NICOLE: Partially, yes. The plan for the Marvel Universe here on the VPN started with "The Outcasts". "Age of Heroes" was the next full series to enter the universe and the "Nightstalkers" was going to be a webisode series to explore the sides of the universe that we needed, but couldn't explore in-depth on either of the two main shows. But now that we've lost "Age of Heroes", "Nightstalkers" doesn't seem needed anymore as we're now only working with the "X-MEN" and "Spider-Man" mythos. We'll of course see other elements of the Marvel Universe come up in "The Outcasts", but it won't be in-depth. The other reason was more personal, something that neither of us really wish to discuss. Will it come back in the future? Maybe. I can't make any promises, and I apologize to anyone who was looking forward to seeing if it'd be picked up to series or not. VSGUIDE: You say that "Nightstalkers" might come back in the future. Can the same be said for "Age of Heroes"? AIMEE NICOLE: To be honest with you, I don't know. There is always a possibility, and Maddie and I have agreed to discuss them when the time is right. But right now, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up. We sincerely apologize to anyone who was looking forward to "Age of Heroes". VSGUIDE: Will we see any characters or stories from "Age of Heroes" incorporated into "The Outcasts" at all? AIMEE NICOLE: Like I said before, we'll probably explore other mythos in "The Outcasts", but it won't be in-depth or majorly focused on. But you'll see guest appearances from the Avengers and the Fantastic Five from time to time. Maddie and I intend to keep them as part of the universe whether they are a major presence or not. There you have it folks! The future of the VPN's own Marvel Universe and the fate of "Age of Heroes". How do you feel about the news? Questions? Comments? Sound of below!

Changed "Phoenix Force" to the "Phoenix" in the spoilers, since I view them as two separate things and the "Phoenix Force" isn't really what's present in this series.

-consoles MJ while erasing "Wolverine" from the board- Comic writers suck sometimes XD Don't get me started on this bullshit Marvel has pulled, erasing the 20-year-long marriage between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson-Parker >_> That was the WORST decision Marvel has ever made -- more so than this Avengers vs. X-Men crap.
@jack - Cyclops is the best leader, ever, imo. He makes all the hard decisions so that no one else has to, even when he doesn't want to/they hurt him. I mean -- anyone who has read Phoenix Endsong would know that. -sighs- I hate writers...>_> -seethes in anger-

Ugh. I hate when comics do things like that. Like, there is one specific X-Men writer that I cannot STAND because he writes Cyclops so badly. Cyclops is my second favorite character ever (second to Jean Grey, but she's dead for now, sooo) and he always gets screwed over. All the fans think he's a dick because of these horrible writers and it sucks because Cyclops is actually a pretty cool guy and he will do ANYTHING to make sure his team survives through anything and everything. As much as it sucks to say this, I didn't like Joss Whedon's version of him either. I mean, he wasn't as bad as the others, but I still wasn't that pleased with him. Not to mention, writers tend to favor Wolverine over Cyclops, and thus make Wolverine always into the awesome good guy and Cyclops is stuck as the "bad guy". -grumbles-
In short -- MJ, I totally feel your pain in the way writers like to screw over characters. XD

Yeah, I've heard that a lot of the fans hate the reboot and stuff. And now the whole gay character thing, I'm just like, wow. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I was an actual fan of theirs. I know I'd be pretty pissed off at Marvel if it was doing these things.

Okay, I just have to say that I'm REALLY irritated right now with this bullshit that's been going on with Marvel and DC and the whole topic of "gay" stuff. And it's not just because I don't like DC comics. This stunt just seems ridiculous.
So, Marvel announced recently that Northstar is going to be marrying his boyfriend in Astonishing X-Men #51. It's the first gay marriage in a superhero comic book, and a huge step considering the popularity of both Marvel and the X-Men series. So then, here comes DC, making the original Green Lantern gay. A character that, from my knowledge, a lot of people do not care much about. So my problem here is that it seems the ONLY reason DC pretty much turned this guy gay was because they weren't getting the same publicity as Marvel. Not because there SHOULD BE more gay characters in comics, but because they aren't getting as hyped as Marvel is for it's pretty much unprecedented event. It really, really irks me.
I would go on a rant about "One Million Moms", but they've had so many failed campaigns that I don't consider them a threat at all. It's fun watching them fail, tbh.

You totally know my feelings on this already Chris, but I'll say it again -- This is awesome, and all of your ideas are amazing. This is most definitely something I could see myself reading from week-to-week, the concept is just so interesting. I love the fact that your main guy is a change-up from the usual kind of character we see. Instead of being the one person that DOESN'T really belong there, this guy definitely seems to deserve to be there.
I can't wait to see more of this, Chris! Awesome work here, even if it's still in development!

Due to some issues I've been dealing with, I recently started over on the mock-finale in order to get a fresh start and a new look at it because it wasn't going as well as I'd hope. I was almost finished, but the story wasn't working for me so I've gone with a tweaked one. However, everything concerned character deaths, the X-Men/Brotherhood team up, all of that is still going to happen, just under altered circumstances. I'll be posting some spoilers up for it later, but I thought I'd pop in and let you guys know why it hasn't aired yet.
I apologize for the ridiculous delay, and I hope to be announcing a new, final airdate soon. Thanks for holding in here with me guys.

I still need to actually see Thor. Thor and Hulk were two movies that I didn't bother seeing before the Avengers movie. Well, actually, Hulk is the only one I didn't BOTHER seeing. I just actually couldn't get a hold of the Thor movie in time. I still wanna see it, though.

Congratulations on graduating, Chris! That is awesome! -throws confetti- Sorry to hear about your computer, though. I know how frustrating that can be. If it wasn't your harddrive that failed -- and assuming it's a laptop -- you can get a kit to upgrade the harddrive to a bigger size (they're about $30) and use the cable it gives you to turn the harddrive into a mass storage device, hook it to the new computer via USB, and recover every single file on the old harddrive.

Okay can I say Aimee you are the queen of descriptions. From start to finish you brought me into this world, described every detail, in far less words, and kept me interested the whole way. Bravo mame! The beginning 'fight' scene (I quote it because let's face it neither vamp had a chance Lmao!) was so well done. I could envision the whole thing and I even did a couple "Yays!" when Abigail landing blows to both Vampiric foe. Like I've said in the other reviews, I'm so glad that the change in my descriptions is being taken so well. It's definitely encouraging. It totally makes me happy and excited seeing that you guys are liking it so much. Maybe I really should stop doubting myself, lmfao. Ouch! Um. Very descriptive with the blade to the crotch Aimee. I felt that poor vamps pain. HAHA! I love Abigail already. She's had one line and it was practically the same line as the vamp but it was executed beautifully. I love the wit. Unfortunately, I can't take credit for that line. I really loved that as her opening line in the movie, so I kept it for Nightstalkers because I felt it was a really good way to "introduce" her character through her dialogue. That said though, I'm glad you like Abigail and I think you'll definitely keep those thoughts on her as the series progresses. I'm scared now. Whenever a show, especially one with action, and or violence, brings a kid into the picture I automatically get all poppa bear like and I don't want anything to happen to this kid. DO YOU HEAR ME AIMEE NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH!! Lmao! I love the playfulness between Abigail and Zooey. LMAO! I know what you mean about kids in shows like this. I'm excited knowing that you guys like Zoey, because she's definitely going to be expanded on as the series goes. Her and Abigail's bond is something that's going to be really important later on. A blind techy? Love it! I like the dynamic between Taylor and Abigail. Oh and they turned out to be a couple. I was just sitting here thinking "They may be flirting with eachother". Lmao! I love being right. XD And Mr. Spark's name's been dropped. I love the connections the 'shows' are making already. Taylor is definitely one of the ones I think might end up being a favorite of the fans -- or at least, I hope so. I'm glad you like the interactions between them, they're really fun to write. At first, I was nervous about it and wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but it ended up coming to me quite easily. Did I really put Spark? Oh God. I'm gonna have to go look LMFAO. If I did, I meant Stark. Tony Stark. I feel like it's important to connect these shows together from the start, either in a big or small way. With this, it was simply that Stark pays Abby for her unique technology she designed herself and sold to him. The connection to the Outcasts won't be as clear for a while, seeing as how the first two planned sequences of "Nightstalkers" takes place before Outcasts begins, timeline wise. I'm totally glad you caught that, though! XD Great episode, excellent descriptions, interesting characters, I don't have a bad thing to say about it. Loved it. 10/10. It was nice hearing from you, and refreshing to see a new face -- not that I don't totally love Jack and Brady, 'cause I totally do and they know I do. But I don't think I've gotten a review from you before, so this was pretty awesome. On that, thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Darrin!
